I've been going to Lucky dog groomers for years. They had a ownership change a couple of years ago and lost the receptionist who we all really adored goodbye Miss Lisa. Over the last couple years. The service has gone downhill here. They are constantly getting new groomers and you don't have a consistent experience. At the time you get somebody who doesn't know what they're doing and the other half of the time it looks great but it's just not consistent. Now I went and visited with the owner there and got up charged for silly things that I've never been charged before before despite going there every month for probably five years. Myself and many other customers are looking for a new place to go. You probably should too. read more

I'm very disappointed with the service and communication at Lucky Dog Grooming. This is the second time I've had a 7:00 AM appointment, and both times I was misled by the manager. On this occasion, I was told the delay was due to flooding and traffic, but it was only light rain--and it quickly became clear these were just excuses. When a groomer finally arrived at 8:00 AM, I asked if they were scheduled for 7 or 8, and they told me they always start at 8. So why was I booked for 7 AM? To make matters worse, when I asked if my dog would be taken next, the manager initially said yes, but after a conversation between the groomers, she changed her story and claimed they had 8 AM appointments ahead of mine--even though my appointment was at 7 AM. It was frustrating and confusing. I had to request to the customer directly if it was ok if my 7am appointment could go first. There was also a dog in a crate in the back crying for over an hour--yet another example of poor care and lack of consideration. As I waited I saw 4 more dogs get dropped off all for appointments that already had multiple dogs waiting for the two groomers. Honesty and communication are essential in any business, but especially one where people are trusting you with their pets. The manager not only gave misleading information but also consistently fails to respond to messages or communicate clearly--except when it comes to offering excuses that aren't true. Highly recommend this business! It was a smooth experience booking to drop off to pickup. Lisa was able to accommodate me the day before and was very helpful and responsive. Pricing is reasonable - $40 for their Bath Brush and Nails package and my dog was medium sized. My pup smelled so good after! Will come again when she blows her coat! read more

Beware of this groomer. Should they injure your dog they will turn and blame it on your pet. They cut our zushons dew claw off causing profuse bleeding. Claimed to be apologetic in person initially, said they would be happy to provide video and stated they would be happy to compensate for the vet visit. We rushed her to the vet. Afterwards their tune completely changed. The next day when we returned to share the outcome of the vet visit and pick up a left behind leash they stated that the owner wouldn't be willing to compensate for her injury & that they would be calling animal control because our dog was "violent" and it was "her fault." They became very defensive and aggressive, refused to show video and THREATENED us after injuring our dog. Talk about adding insult to injury. Fortunately this isn't a long term injury, but someone else's pet may not be so "LUCKY." If you value your pet, your pocket book and believe in supporting decent businesses... steer clear of this business and find another groomer. read more

Review update - Please disregard the star rating here, I no longer know what the appropriate review score is. I was a LONG TIME customer of Lucky Dog. Ownership changed hands a couple years ago and I didn't like the new owner, but the groomer I still liked was there so I continued going. I watched the new owner make several dumb changes. Painted the walls bare white and took down all of the art. The place used to be quite cute, now it was drab and dull. They took down all of the customer photos from the wall. That was a little insulting to me as I had two cute dog pics on the wall. But I still liked my groomer and liked the receptionist. The few interactions I had with the owner were not great. Then the receptionist left and then my groomer left. So there's no reason for me to return. I have not returned to try the groomers that are still there, so please know that I am not aware of their skill level, they have not groomed my dogs. But I was unhappy with the new ownership and have found another groomer elsewhere. I've also been made aware of a tragedy where a dog in the care of Lucky Dog passed away. I do not know the specifics, just that the situation is unresolved. But I would certainly not feel comfortable returning to this establishment knowing this. read more

Every time we took him, Lucky Dog grooming made sure to ask the right questions of what kind of cut we wanted- they always delivered great results for the perfect "teddy bear haircut"! They do such a great job! End of last year we moved to Denver and stopped going to Lucky Dog. We lost Otis suddenly and the owner called and left a really sweet voicemail after finding out on instagram to send their condolences. After taking her to Lucky Dog Groomers, we discovered a cut on her leg and went back to the groomer. 1. They never communicated to us when we were picking up our dog. 2. They made an excuse and played it off as an irritation to the blades. Why would my dog all of a sudden have irritation to blades when she has never shown signs of irritation after blade grooming before? 3. So disappointed in the service and how this situation was handled. I have taken my dog here two previous times before this incident and I should have known from the beginning of this appointment it would have been a disaster. It seemed as if Lisa was busy or some kind of stress factor going on since we got there so then a groomer came to us, did not greet us just went straight to touch my dog and say she's matted in a very béfele ting way. Instead of trying to get to know my dog just anything to make the situation comfortable. I take ownership that my golden doodle was a couple weeks past her usual cut and was not brushed as often as she usually is. That part is correct. What they did to my dog is completely unacceptable, they cut my dog completely down even balding her on both sides of her neck!!! Her nails now a week later still are so painful when she touches us! I paid first and tipped I never question what they charge because I trusted them!!!! When my baby comes out she looks completely different, to the pointe where I had to tell her to do commands she does to make sure that actually is my dog. I told Lisa how shocked and wow I was at all this people were piling up after me so I believe she was just trying to get me out at this point. As soon as I get home is when I evaluate my dog completely and I just break down in tears , this is the worst experience ever they did not keep their "promise to give your dog the best dog grooming" I wrote in email that day and sent pictures I get a call the next day and nothing was solved what was actually said was "the groomer said she didn't do that" !!!!! So what are they implying that I did this ?!!!! Tells me she was having a bad day and reason why Luz the groomer I believe that's her name stepped in yes I could tell from the beginning someone was having a bad day ! I even offered to take my dog back up there so they can see and feel the nails that completely gets ignored, I was even willing to give them another chance and said she would follow up with me with an email on a discount. It's now a week later and still nothing at this point as I requested I want my full refund back beyond the horrible haircut! The painful nails the balding my dog on both sides of the neck and being told "I didn't do that" by the groomer !!! I can not ever trust this place to not "hide" something like they say on their website. This was a rushed, botched, horrible terrifying experience. Do your research ! Stick with the same groomer and ask to see your dog before you pay and actually look at them thoroughly I trusted them so much and that I blame that on myself I handled this very much with patience until basically not being understood, heard and blown off since Lisa said "hair grows back" like yea no big deal. Definitely do not care or love dogs. So beyond this being about a bad haircut it's the la k of professionalism the fact that I got the call that you have to use a guard around her face because she wasn't letting them cut their face . How come this was never a problem before ? The groomer just lacked patience, caring for and simply incompetent for this. I am extremely upset and will not ever recommend this place. Us dog parents talk this was unacceptable. This is supposed to be a golden doodle with pretty hair... I don't know what breed she looks like but this is definitely not it Update : I have finally received an email stating they will not refund due to my negligence or lack of maintenance! We took our 2 small dogs there Feb 13 The owner was really rude when we got there. She insisted we were there on the wrong day and time- and she used a really accusatory tone. We probably should've just left.. but we left the dogs I'm not sure what happened but when we picked them up she was really rude again. One dog didn't need a cut, but still cost $70 (she's 6 pounds and she just needed nails ‍) there were all these extra charges that we've never had before But the thing that REALLY concerned us was the dogs. The we're REALLY upset and cried for a long time. When they finally stopped crying, they spent the rest of the day alone and seemed really sad. It really seemed traumatic. WARNING about LUCKY DOG GROOMING in Plano, Texas at Coit and Legacy. It has been five weeks since our beautiful Deacon died at LUCKY DOG GROOMING on February 20, 2023. They have still not complied with giving us the video of Deacon's grooming session and this is after getting an attorney involved to demand the video. In fact, the owner is now stating that although he has video equipment, it was not working at the time of Deacon's grooming session. He specifically told us over the phone that he personally reviewed the video of the session and saw that his employees did nothing wrong and NOW he's saying there is no video at all. PLEASE, PLEASE spread the word that his facility may not only cause harm to your pet but will also not be cooperative AT ALL to help you figure out what happened while your dog is in their care. And on top of that, the owner was 100% uncompassionate and uncaring. I never want another family to go through what we have been going through. We loved Deacon so, so much and still miss him every single day. Our hearts are broken. read more

We've been taking our dogs to Lucky Dog since they opened and couldn't be more happy with the quality of service. Our pet is going on 14 years old and has hip issues. LD has noted his condition in their records and not only reminds me upon arrival, they take special precautions based on age and condition. Lucky Dog USED to be an excellent place, when Brandy was the owner (and previous to her, when Roberto was the owner), but it has been completely destroyed by the new owners. We have had two awful occasions when we took our sweet pup, Butter, to the groomer. After both of these, we received no apologies from the owner, no call - nothing. That is not customer service. We have requested a refund and have not heard back about anything. Don't go here. 1) On May 9 2020, we took Butter to get groomed. Her groom was decent but when we came back home, I noticed she kept blinking and closing her right eye. Concerned, I started googling and found out that it could be a tear in her eye that happened during grooming. We immediately took her to the vet and they confirmed she had a slight tear. Poor girl had to be on antibiotics and painkillers for 10 days and wear a cone. When we confronted Lucky Dog, they said "oh she may have scratched herself upon being irritated by the shampoo". That can't be the case because she's been getting groomed for 2 years now and this has never happened. Lucky Dog should have at least said they would look into the matter, or offer to pay the vet bill ($212), but nothing! We had not received a single call from the owner apologizing or showing any ounce of empathy, despite repeatedly requesting a call back. 2) On July 6 2020, we took Butter for a cut, despite feeling apprehensive about visiting Lucky Dog again. We should not have even gone. When we arrived, we were informed that her usual groomer, Jose, was no longer at Lucky Dog. They didn't even have the decency to inform us of this BEFORE the appointment or while scheduling. So we reiterated our usual instructions to Danielle: no poodle cut, leave a rounded face (puppy cut). We did ask to go a level extra given it's so hot in the summer, but that should have been completely fine. Danielle told us she had already given Janet, a new groomer, the instructions. So we left feeling apprehensive, but okay and reassured by Danielle. When we came to pick Butter up we were shocked! There was no puppy cut - the poodle cut was given, despite explicit instructions to not do that. And the cut was SO uneven. There are places where the razors went so close to her skin - you can see the patchiness. Usually her hair is fully blow dried but at her ankles they had cut really close and there was no blow dry. Butter had so much anxiety after her cut, which isn't normal. She's a happy playful girl. Wanted to write this to warn other owners to be careful about going here. Since the ownership change, it is not the place it used to be. Still no call from ownership after several emails, text messages, and attempts. read more

I really can't say enough about Lucky Dog. My hubby and I took our 4-month-old mini Golden Doodle, Bailey, to Petsmart and had an awful experience. I had so much anxiety about the grooming process for my nervous pup. After calling around to various spots, Lucky Dog Grooming was patient with me and answered all of my questions. We decided to give them a try. First, getting an appointment was super easy. They got Bailey in within a week. Then, three days before my appointment, I had something come up. Crossing my fingers (and not expecting anything), I called and inquired about an earlier appointment time. Lucky Dog Grooming accomadated my request and happily booked Bailey an earlier appointment. When I arrived, I shared with them that I was a nervous dog mom and that Bailey did not have a good first grooming experience. Again, they calmed my nerves and promised to call if something happened, or if Bailey was non-compliant. They called an hour and fifteen minutes later and told me that Bailey was done! When I went to pick her up, she looked amazing and was incredible happy. They shared that she didn't like getting bathed, but for her first appointment, she did great! I cannot emphasize how overjoyed I was that they were able to groom my nervous pup. They didn't only groom her, they made her look fabulous. Love this place, and so does my fur baby Salem!! I recently adopted him, but I also brought my previous dog here as well. I am always able to get an appointment without any hassle, and they are very accommodating of any changes are needed. The first time I took him, I was worried as it was his first groom, but he did well and they even let him play with the owners dog while he waited for pickup. Every time Salem has been since (3 times since October), he comes back looking adorable and always seems to enjoy his visits. Unfortunately I no longer work in the area, do their hours don't fit for me anymore, which sucks. But if anything changes, I'll be right back there! read more

UPDATE: the last time I was there my dog's armpits were cut up on all 4. It was due to speed and roughness. I tried to give them another chance but their communication hasn't been great at all. I tried making an appointment twice and both times they didn't have him on the schedule. I called this past Monday. They said Friday at 10. I show up and she doesn't have him. She moves to 2 Friday's away and there he was. Problem is I clearly remember the vague conversation. She said see you on Friday. Not next Friday or a specific date. I'm done with this place. My first visit today for my dogs first full groom. I took him for baths at other places and facial grooms but they either looked terrible or my dog was so stressed with the atmosphere and other dogs. Most groomers have dog boarding and my dog doesn't like to be around other dogs cause they tease him. I will be absolutely a repeat customer of Lucky Dogs. They did a wonderful job and were very nice and treated my dog wonderfully. When I came to pick my dog up he looked happy and not scared and stressed. There was no barking in the background. I love the atmosphere and the music they choose to listen to. And watching them groom the other dogs so well, I was so amazed I started taking pictures to show people the other styles they do. My dad took Nick in for his usual shave. He is a poodle mix. Lucky dog groomers cut him in many places on his face and neck! I WAS SHOCKED. These are very large cuts. Nick was in pain and was unusually mopey compared to the bashful personality he usually displays. We emailed the owners and they told us he was a mixed breed and he probably scratched himself.... Never in the 7 years of haircuts has this EVER happened. He has never "scratched himself like this". Be careful if your dog needs a close shaved cut, and you are using this groomer. 1 star for grooming service. 1 star for customer service. read more
