I've had a great experience shopping at PetSmart. The store is always well stocked with the brands I trust for my cat, especially Hill's Science Diet and Simply Nourish grain-free products. I really appreciate that they offer a wide variety of healthy food options to fit different needs. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable -- whether it's pointing me toward the right product or helping with questions about nutrition. One big plus is that PetSmart honors price matching with their website, which makes it easy to shop in-store without worrying about paying more than I would online. Overall, between the great product selection, fair pricing, and excellent staff, PetSmart continues to be my go-to place for pet supplies. I had placed an online order for my dog's prescription dogfood. I uploaded the RX in order to buy it. My dog was out of food so I needed it that afternoon. Upon walking in the store, I informed the cashier that I placed an online order wanted to pick it up. She asked if I received an "order ready for pick up email". I said no. She stated that online orders may take up to 3 days to get filled. But said that I can go check in the dog food aisle if there are any. Amazingly they had plenty of the prescription dogfood in stock. So WHY WOULD IT TAKE UP TO 3 days to fill the online order then?!? The cashier proceeded to continuously lecture me about online orders taking up to 3 days. It would be helpful if they stated that ON THE WEBSITE! Bottom line, next time you need something from the store, no need to place an online order. Just go to the store personally. This was my first time visiting this location since it's the closest one to me, and unfortunately my experience at checkout was not great. The cashier was very unprofessional and had a rude attitude. I was initially paying with my fiancé's card but realized I didn't have his PIN. I politely asked if I could switch to another card, and while she said yes, she responded with an obvious attitude and mentioned she had to restart the transaction. It only took about a minute, but during that time she apologized to the customer behind me for the wait in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, as if I was causing a big inconvenience. What bothered me most was that when I left, she immediately started speaking very sweetly to the next customer and apologizing again, even though they had barely waited at all. There was really no reason for the attitude, and the interaction made me feel unwelcome. I hope this location can provide better customer service training, because this experience honestly ruined what should have been a quick and simple visit. read more

Really disappointed with the grooming service at PetSmart. I brought my dog in for a trim and got him back almost completely shaved it looks awful and was not at all what I asked for. The groomer's name was Liam. On top of that, I was charged $92 for this, which is honestly ridiculous given the result. It looks like no care was taken, and now my dog is uncomfortable and looks so sad. I feel horrible. I've used PetSmart before without any issues, but this was a huge letdown. I'm hoping someone from the team sees this and makes it right, I definitely think a refund or something to fix the situation is fair. This experience was not okay. read more

I would definitely recommend Petsmart Hotel at Custer and 121. We love everyone who works there. They are awesome with our doggies and always greet them with smiles and open arms. Took my pug for a nail trim last Saturday. Didn't bring a leash so I had to carry my dog in and out, so I did not notice this until I got home or I would have turned around and complained. Anyways, after getting home I noticed my dog limping terribly and refusing to walk/go potty. Waited a couple days to see if it would get better but it seems to only be getting worse. Guess a person should sit and watch the groomer like a hawk in case of accidents instead of wondering around the store but now I am having to schedule a vet appointment and go spend more money because of incompetent workers who do not know how to do their jobs. This has got to be 1 of the only "I actually like my job" PetSmarts in existence. I can't commend this place and the staff enough. Grooming: We did a walk-in to get my 2 dogs' nails trimmed. The groomer was awesome; so upbeat, funny, and kept my pups calm since they absolutely HATE getting their nails trimmed. Service was super quick as well and they did a great job, unlike some locations that rush and miss a nail or 2. The shopping experience was just as great. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted, the store was clean and well-stocked, and it wasn't busy at all so browsing the aisles was easy. The cashier was friendly and personable. Grooming is subpar. In the last grooming appointment they failed to drill down the nails, wash the face, and brush the teeth. I called and complained and was told to bring them back in for a redo. We opted to only get the nails and teeth done (dogs have sensitive skin). Service was not very friendly. Nails look good. Teeth seem to not be done well. It's so unfortunate. I've honestly had no problems with PetSmart in Allen until recently. Over the past two months I have been up there over and over again due to fish & frogs dying that we bring home as well as killing other fish in our tank. We have brought our water up and had it tested to ensure that it was not an issue on our end. The first few time the fish and frogs would die and not really affect more than one of the fish that were doing well in the tank before adding them. We would take the fish/frog that we had just bought to be exchanged and take the others as a loss. I eventually took a break from adding to our tank to make sure something wasn't going on. My frog and other fish were thriving and active until yesterday. I brought home one fish and within 24 hours we've lost 6 fish and my dear frog Jeremiah. I feel bamboozled by PetSmart. I have gone to PetsMart for 20 years and have used all of thier services and usually have had a great customer experience. However, I do not recommend using Bandfield at this location as the customer service has greatly deteriorated. I always wait at least 30 minutes to drop off my pet and for my last visit I had to tell them four times what my pet was in for and when I went to pick up my pet was told I needed to wait as all the technicians were in a meeting. When I told them I unfortunately could not wait until they were finished and could only wait 10 minutes as I had a business meeting to attend. Unfortunately I again had to wait 30 minutes and was told I needed to wait for the Vet to get my pets prescription. I ended up just getting my pet and leaving at that point. I will never use Bandfield or any other services at the Allen, TX location becasue of this. I rescheduled my pet at another vet where I could receive better service. read more

My main goal for this visit twas to purchase some prescription cat food for our kitty. I had prescription in hand, but I was pleased to see that they have the prescription formulas all in one place so that you can pick sizes and quantities, and also read the labels and such. The prices seemed reasonable for what you get, although we hadn't bought much prescription food recently. The checkout process was smooth; the cashier asked for the prescription after scanning the first package (I assume it flagged it on the point of sale device) and we completed the sale. All in all, a good experience. I find the store to be a little more "cramped" feeling than competitor Petco; I think it's because the shelves are higher here and perhaps a little more closely spaced. Extremely disappointed with the service here. It was the end of a very long work day and an evening class, and I needed to make a quick run for some supplies for our new puppy. It was an hour before closing. I purchased some snacks for the dog and was at the cashier's when I noticed some dog tags for sale. Lady at the cashier's desk gave me the stink-eye when I asked about how the dog tag machine worked, and instead of answering my question, told me that "we close in 30 seconds" - never mind that I could have come back another time to use the machine. I was going to use this location as my go to location but would rather choose a new place, that is not Petsmart for grooming. (Based on several bad experiences). I called and told the grooming employee that I think the Du Claw was not trimmed and asked if they could trim it for free; since I was just there 6 weeks ago. The employee then told me that the Du Claw grows faster than the other nails and that it had just grown and they wont trim it for free. I then told her that the nail was curling around and looks like it had pierced that skin. She then asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. In my opinion, Carissa sounded very annoyed to have to get on the phone with me and repeat herself. After I repeated my story of the nail piercing the skin, she said if I bring in my dog she can trim the back claws herself but they wont do it again. I then took it upon myself to ask Banfield's nurses, at another location, if her nail was ingrown AND how long it looks like it has been growing out. The nurses told me it had definitely been growing out longer than 6 weeks. They then had the doctor look at her Du Claws to make sure it was not puncturing the skin. After about 10 minutes the nurse came out with my dog and told me the doctor went ahead and trimmed her claws because it was close to cutting skin. I called the store manager at the Allen location and told him what was going on and asked for my money back and he said in the most passive way, let me get the salon manager, Carissa. After I told her what I went through at Banfield and asked for my money back she was very quick to give me my money BUT NO APOLOGY! I was not asking for one but certainly thought they would be quick to apology for a mistake they made. I am upset by the lack of compassion for these animals they work with daily! I was appreciative of them giving me my money back and want to thank Banfield's doctor at the PLano location off 75. Today for example checkout was 12 people deep. 12 ! three employees walked right past without opening up another lane. One stopped in the mgrs office, which showed the mgr sitting in the office.. She said, "well, I pretty much know what we have. We have the furminator and this other one that's like a knot brush, and after that it's just regular brushes." I'm a little weary of this location after my experience today. I went in to get my dog a new tag. But while I was there I took my daughter to look at fish because she has taken an interest and we will be stocking her 20 gallon aquarium this weekend. The hardier fish species seemed fine but I saw a lot of the gentler species in trouble. I saw at least 1 dead pelco, one upside down but breathing, and another one that was looking sickly. In another tank was a dead red clawed crab. Some of the tanks were missing their product entirely such as the mystery snails, African dwarf frogs, and ghost shrimp. I also noticed a number of the reptile cages were empty. I'd dismiss it as low stock but it seemed like the more delicate fish/inverts were the only ones missing from the tanks which makes me think there is an outbreak of some illness. A final stroll revealed the Betta bowls many of which had cloudy water and lethargic looking bettas. read more

I will NOT be returning to this location. I brought my dog in for a toenail clipping, and I cannot begin to tell you how disgusted I am with the way that the Technician treated and man handled my dog. She dragged him to the point of his HARNESS coming off. His harness is one that goes between his front legs, so for this to have happened, she would have to had been yanking pretty hard. After she pulled him, she proceeded to place one of their leashes on, and pulled him so hard that he could not breathe and the white part on his eyes started turning pink. I debated taking my dog and leaving, but my husband insisted that it would be okay. I did not say anything to the technician, but here I am, 4 hours later, still very angry. Do not work with animals if you do not have a passion for them. Also, his nails look like they were trimmed in the dark. My wife and I have lived in Allen for years and the Pet Smart here is second to none. I only wish they had the Pet Hotel feature so we could leave our pup here when we have to travel. The staff is wonderful and the Banfield veterinary team was actually able to help treat our dog's rare genetic disease way more effectively than a stand alone vet we had used for several years before. Today I went to grab my bag of dog food as usual & when I got home & opened it, it was full of larvae, cobweb looking things, & bugs crawling in it. I am quite disgusted. I called up to the store & the employees were very helpful, so don't think this review was about them. However I was disappointed that I still had to pay for my dog food so, knowing that's not really in their control, I called corporate to file a complaint. "All they could do" was offer me $10. Never mind the fact that I spent $60 on the bag of dog food & have been every 3-4 weeks for over a year now. Situations like this make me not want to buy food from corporate stores anymore & I surely won't be recommending anyone to get dog food or anything for that matter from PetSmart. The groomer practically destroyed my bernese mountain dogs coat. She went in for a trim, I wanted it slightly shorter than a trim, didn't even point to the cut chart, and she came back with about 1/2 inch shave. The breed is double coated and she didn't have any matting or a medical reason for being shaved. She just did it. A friend who works at a different petsmart salon is livid because she knows they should not have done that. Her coat will not grow back the same it was and it was beautiful. I am moving to Mississippi and she goes with me in august and now I have to do everything to make sure she doesn't get overheated, or any type of skin conditions. This review is in regards to the Banfield Clinic located inside petsmart. I was very pleased with one of the Vets and the staff there. Dr. Varghese was very gentle with my pet and I really appreciated his mannerism. I travel really far just to have my pets seen by him. It is very hard for me to trust anyone with my pet. With that said, I do want to warn readers that we did not have to get anything invasive do. Just visited for routine visits, shots, and minor health concerns. I would definitely recommend this place and this vet! Be warned, it is on the pricey side. read more
