I can't say enough good things about the Hollywood Feed store in McKinney, at the corner of Custer and Virginia Ave. I've been getting our cats' food there for many years and am always impressed by the excellent customer service. The minute I walk in the door, I am greeted with a smile and assisted with getting what I need. Recently, I've been using the Delivery service, which is amazing. Update to my review: So I did have a small issue that came up but let me tell you what separates good companies from great. In my mind it's customer service. I believe Hollywood Feed's motto is do what's right by the customer. And this rings to all the way from their C-suite with Kent W down to Beth who manages the store at El Dorado for many years now. They even went as far as to track me down from my purchase on the date to then track down my phone number to make it right, that the issue was discussed and make sure I was ok and satisfied with the outcome. All in all no one or company is perfect. But I do believe this store cares about its customers and because of what I saw they go above and beyond to make sure they are satisfied. For that they have not only kept my business but the word of mouth of telling others how they went above and beyond to make it right. So Hollywood Feed and in particular Beth and Kent - thank you. The going out of your way is well appreciated and noticed. Keep up the great work and how you treat your customers. Based solely on my interaction w the clerk working today (male, long hair, glasses): I will not patron this location again. I ran in to grab cbd oil for my dogs separation anxiety which I've bought here a few times. The bottles of cbd were moved to a shelf behind the counter, out of reach for me to pick up to be able to read. The clerk literally told me they're all the same and of course they're for anxiety, that's what they're for. I had to ask him more than once to please bring over so I could read the labels. He was rude and short. I'm fully aware of what the cbd is for and btw it's for more than anxiety. Everything here is already expensive, don't need the extra attitude buddy. read more

We've been shopping at Hollywood Feed for a couple of years now and we've had such great experiences at this location. All of the staff there is super knowledgeable and you can tell they genuinely care for their clientele! We were especially happy that they just added a pet wash station where you can bathe your own dog or have someone do it for you. That's not all, LAUREN was amazing with our rescue pup, he's about 7 years old and is terrified of strangers. She was so patient with him and made sure he felt comfortable when she was doing his nails. read more

I believe this store went has a change of ownership, I went yesterday to grab some treats with my small dog yesterday, and when I was at the register my dog had an accident near it, the manager /owner saw him peeing and told me to keep an eye on him next time. while I was at the register, I thought of getting one more item, so I told him to hold on and went back to back for more items, as I was walking back to grab that item, I told myself, not to get it and I cashed out, while I was leaving, I heard the manager saying something to his employee, " THAT DOG ". I believe he is in the wrong business, also needs to put a sign at the door, Pets not allowed, or Don't let your dogs have accidents inside. well hello, they are animals and not humans and can't express themselves. I've been coming to Hollywood feed for about 3 years now since we moved to Texas. I started off going mainly to the Allen location but switched to McKinney when we moved more north. I've also visited a few locations throughout the metroplex like Plano and Richardson. All locations have always been wonderful and provided good service. McKinney location is particularly extra special to me. Service is always amazing and in the midst of covid they provide free same day delivery all the way up to my home in Melissa! Not only do they provide amazing products with 100% guaranty but they do it with a smile on their face. I made an order online this morning at 8am and it was delivered to my house (for FREE) within 3 hours!! Amazon can't even do that. Support local businesses and recognize food service. read more

I'm always a fan of Hollywood Feed. I have been going to another location that was farther away from my house, but this location is closer and more convenient. The tricky part is that parking is very tight in this shopping area. The people here are great and very helpful. I have used a coupon for some free biscuits that I got when I checked in on Yelp, so keep an eye out. They have always had what we needed and have a lot of dog food and pet supplies. I will keep coming back here for my pet supply needs. You can also bring your 4 legged friends in and have them check things out as well. The dried duck feet are just the best treats for my dogs. I've been a loyal, somewhat obnoxiously avid supporter of Hollywood Feed for several years now. From my early days at the Inwood (Knight St.) location, to the more recent days of shopping at the Renner (Richardson) store with Jason (who's now at Firewheel), I've had nothing but great things to say about Hollywood Feed to anyone that'll listen. Simply put: I love HF and hope they continue to grow and expand to other states.  Unfortunately, my last few experiences at McKinney - Store 65 (off El Dorado) has left me very hurt and confused. Two associates there--a young red-haired male and a young blonde-haired female--are consistently rude and disrespectful. The first incident occurred when my wife and I first relocated to the McKinney area a few months back. I went into Trader Joe's while my wife went to Hollywood Feed. This female associate (in her early-to-mid 20s) was rude to my wife. So much so, that she left the store and came to find me in Trader Joe's. And to put it in perspective, my wife isn't easily upset or offended. In fact, she's known for her calamity in stressful situations. Obviously finding it odd that a Hollywood Feed employee would ever be rude, I was shocked. For reference, we ended up going to the Virginia Pkwy store instead.  A few weeks later, I was at Trader Joe's; this time by myself. We were running out of Primal Goat's Milk and Zignature dry food, so I stopped into Store 65. This time, the red-haired kid (I say kid because he appears to be in college/early 20s) approached me. When I told him I didn't need any assistance, he was very smart-ass for no apparent reason. After locating the items I needed, I went to check-out with him. As he rang everything up, I spotted the Hemp Oil. Intrigued, I asked a few questions. Instead of answering, he challenged my potential need for the Hemp Oil, even going as far as to say, "If you walked your dogs more, or took them to a park to play, then maybe they wouldn't be so anxious and need CBD oil." Totally taken back and very angry, I asked if he'd just grab me a box so I could be on my way before I lost my cool.  Then this morning at 9:00 a.m., I visited the El Dorado store. This time, both the young blonde-haired girl and the red-haired kid were both working. I had my boys (male Shih-Tzus named Ben and Teebo) with me. The girl scoffed aloud when she saw Ben and Teebo (not sure why she'd do that - they're cute and sweet as can be), and muttered something to herself before walking in the opposite direction! A few minutes later, I was at the Zignature food (yes, we love Zignature) and Teebo broke off his leash and ran up to a larger dog to play. The owner was concerned her dog may not be nice, so the red-haired kid intervened, grabbing Teebo. I hurried over to collect Teebo and thanked the kid for getting him so fast. Instead of saying "no problem" or "your welcome", he curtly said, "Wow - maybe you should learn how to put a leash on a collar." In that moment, it took all of my willpower not to fire back (or deck him), but I remained composed. After walking back to the Zignature food, I collected what I needed, dropped it all at the counter, and took my dogs back to the car so I could carry everything easier. Upon walking back inside, the lady with the large dog approached me and quietly said, "That young man was extremely rude. I'm so sorry about that! I do hope you let someone know. I would if I were you." I thanked and agreed with her, then approached the counter to checkout. As the young blonde-haired girl rang everything up, I asked her to grab me a Hemp Oil for the dogs, touting how great it worked. She made a very out-of-place comment, "You'll definitely want the small dogs formula since you have...puny, little guys." By this time, I know I had a look of disgust on my face but still managed to bite my tongue.  So, I got back into my vehicle and quickly called Jason at Firewheel. By the way, can I just say that my wife and I adore him. He's always so pleasant, knowledgeable and sweet with Ben and Teebo. Anyways, he gave me this email address to submit my complaints/share my experiences, and profusely apologized for these awful experiences -- especially this morning's. At this point, we'll not be returning to the El Dorado location....like ever. I hate to sound dramatic but we feel very wronged and disrespectful for no apparent reason. Considering the amount of support I give Hollywood Feed, and the copious mounds of I've spent with them over the years, I would highly appreciate a gift card, a voucher...something for all this crazy, off-the-wall crap we've experienced. read more

I highly recommend making Hollywood feed your go to stop for your pets food, treat, and toy needs! I've exclusively gotten my dogs food here for almost a year and try to make a point to buy any of Hazel's supplies from here. They also offer curbside options and same day delivery which is amazing as someone who has some back problems! As if you needed any other reason, they will automatically price match! There have been multiple times I was notified of an adjustment because they found a lower price on one of my items. The staff are helpful and will throw in samples on deliveries when they have them. I came here because I was at Trader Joe's next door buying cool snacks and I wanted to get cool snacks for my dog as well. There is a lot of food and supplies here! Other than the usual items, I think I was most impressed with the unique treats for dogs. You will see big bones, pig ears, dried fish... all these sorts of interesting weird treats. I could have gotten him one of those, but I ended up getting him a "Good Boy" frosted cookie. Because he is such a good boy and I love him! I will make sure that I will come back and get him one of these treats soon. The staff here is pretty friendly in helping me look around and processing my order. I couldn't ask for a better shopping experience any time I go. Manager and staff are amazing people who share ideas when I ask, update me on new things or let me look around and think about what I need for my own furbabies or fosters. One of those places, as in the Cheers TV series way back when, where you wanna go where everyone knows your name and make you feel like family. Super rescue group friendly. Kind to broken-hearted fosters that graduated their babies on to happy tails days. Never a worry about a return, not once. After my retail management days, I'd pick this team in a heartbeat. These guys are awesome. You have a question and they will answer it and give more information. They are very helpful and truly care for your pets. They remember you when you come in and are very friendly. And they care about the little things....I have a boy dog so his birthday cookie should be blue and not purple because it matters! It matters to me so I like that it matters to them. Prices are really comparable to other places unless you just don't care what you feed your babies. Our first visit here was such a wonderful experience. The Manager and Assistant were outstanding. Welcomed me, and showed me everything they had. They have it all. We had just rescued a mini schnauzer which turned out to be an adoption from a rescue center which really did not exist. So a cute little girl, not spayed, chipped ?? Shots and lab done. And counterfeit paper work. So they met Annie, fell in love , and decked her out in a pink collar, harness, and leash .A gift from both of them. And young people who need their income!! I love Hollywood feed but this location has issues keeping food in stock. I use to go to the Custer location but then this one opened up and is much closer to me. The people that work here are super friendly and helpful, but yesterday was the third time that I went there and they were out of my dog food. It's just blue dog food not a super special one. But it's so frustrating, I never had this problem at the Custer location. I just want either the person who's ordering to fix this or if it's a machine that's automatically ordering to be fixed. I want to support this location but I'm seriously considering shopping somewhere else read more
