This nursery has a great selection of herbs and vegetables. My husband loves to come here to get tomato plants each year. They are so much cheaper than the big box stores, but they produce amazing results. We grabbed a variety of items: tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, cilantro, basil, lavender, and hot peppers. We also bought some soil. The bags are big and heavy, but you don't have to carry them. When you pay at checkout, tell them what you want. They will send men to get the bags and deliver them directly to your car. They do have special garden carts for cruising the center, picking out what you want, and wheeling them around so that you don't have to carry awkward plants. There are flat carts for larger items and small flat carts for those getting a few smaller plants. It's always a quick enjoyable visit here, especially in the spring when plants are blooming. read more

I have been to Bruce Miller Nursery many times over the years. I came in a few days ago looking for full sun perennials and sadly didn't find anything I wanted this trip. I did find several plants for shade that I might come back for at another time. I loved the giant Leopard plant, it was so healthy looking. Vegetable plants are $1.99 and the tomatoes looked great! They had reduced pricing if you bought a flat. The prices seem very reasonable and there was a decent amount of inventory out. The walkways are a bit uneven with a variety of surfaces (blacktop, concrete, wood with landscape cloth over it), so you need to be sure to look down where you're walking. It could be a bit unsafe for klutz's and the elderly. read more

Granted it is difficult to judge a nursery in the winter time but they are open so here goes... I stopped by on a bit of a rainy cool day to pick up some plants for my winter garden. Good thing I know my way around a nursery a little bit because there was absolutely no one out in the garden to help out. So to say the service was lacking would be a bit incorrect, there was just NO service. This place is WONDERFUL!! I have driven by this time and time again and finally stopped in because I was looking for a Mister Lincoln rose bush. They are the only one lace around that had one in bush form instead of tree form. Great prices and the plants looked very healthy. There have so many plants here... it's easy to get lost in happiness walking around here. I love that they have cats and dogs that live here. Makes it feel so warm and inviting. I will definitely be back to buy more! The only gripe I have, the plant warranty is bogus. 30 days? And it has to be returned in the original pot the plant came in. 30 days is just way to short of time frame in my opinion. read more

The selection of Bruce Miller is usually decent, especially when it comes to native plants. Customer service is very hit-or-miss. Depending on how busy they are, or if they just want to close soon, you may not get any help or even a "we don't want to be here" vibe from the staff. Sometimes I ask gardening questions and they just shrug their shoulders. It's better than large corporation with the initials HD, but if comparing to a large corporation LWs or with another well-known local nursery chain that starts with a C, there is a huge difference in customer service, and often selection. read more

Bruce Miller has excellent selection and outstanding service. I wanted a large bay leaf tree which are hard to find. Bruce Miller took my name and number and called me a year later with a tree. They also have playoff staff who are very helpful. A medium sized purchase warrants someone taking the plants to the car and loading it. They always ask if I need plastic to protect the interior of my car. read more

This is my go to nursery for landscape plants and vegetable starters. In mid-March they start stocking a wide variety of toatoes, etc at around $1.49/ea. The local hardware giants offer the same but at about two or three times that price. You'll also find knowledgeable nursherymen who can answer any question and are happy to help. read more

I adore this nursery. I started come here about 4-6 years ago when I first fell in love with herbs, My husband likes to cook, and I don't like to go anywhere else when heading to a nursery. They're not certified organic but they are certified non-gmo. First I want to say that I have been a customer here for 25 years and have always enjoyed shopping here. Generally, they have a knowledgeable staff and their pricing has always been "in line" for an independent nursery in this area. Anyone that has been trying to replace damaged plant stock from the February freeze knows that Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss has been very scarce. It is nowhere to be found at Home Depot or Lowes, but when they do have it, the cost is $10.99 for a 3 cubic foot bale. I stopped by Bruce Miller this afternoon and they had 1 cubic foot bales and I was told the price was $14.99 for one cubic foot. When I questioned the young lady that was "helping" me about the the practice of price gouging customers after the disaster in February, she told me "if you don't like it, go try to buy it at Home Depot or Lowes". If there is a heaven, I hope it looks like Bruce Miller's. This place is amazing. I could spend hours there. For starters, I would recommend going through the greenhouses one by one before going inside. The first one by the front is going to have various herbs and grasses, including gigantic pieces of rosemary just BEGGING to go home for you and be the best little mosquito repellent that it can be. This is a good greenhouse. Outside of which, you'll see various seasonal flowers and ornamental grasses begging for you in a similar fashion. Now, I may be miscounting in my mind because this place gave me an hour long plantgasm, but I believe that the next greenhouse (with various trees in between) is for herbs and vegetables. Ho. Lee. Shit. This is the business. Every vegetable that you are supposed to be putting in the ground right then will be there. Why start from a $2 pack of seeds when you can buy a 8 inch high seedling for $1.99? Your only limit is the size of your raised bed. If needed, I recommending plowing your entire god damn backyard to make way for every single variety of tomato or pepper that this place can offer. It will be worth it. And if that greenhouse isn't quite your speed, the next one of perennials will blow your little god damn mind. Everything for that perfect little butterfly or hummingbird garden that you can ask for. Fill that keyhole garden in your paradise with everything here. Woozy from the pure joy and carrying 5 or 6 vegetable seedlings through this lush urban paradise, we arrived at the end where you have all of your landscaping needs spread among the surroundings outside. Everything to make your little patch of suburbia different from the next almost identical patch of suburbia. Inside the building at the front, you'll find all of what you need to keep your place looking beautiful, well fed, watered, and bug free. And toss in a few giant buckets of bulbs while you're at it I guess? Bruce Miller Nursery is a perfect garden of Eden, or at the very least, a good place for you to begin making one of your own. read more

I had not stopped by in a bit because this nursery is not the closest one to me. I am a doctor who is overwhelmed with the pandemic. The staff members have gone to such amazing lengths to social distance and insure that neither the staff nor the customer has to come within 6 feet of anyone. They pass the receipt to you with pool nets on a pole! Everyone is masked and better yet- the masks are worn appropriately and not hanging under the nose. Buying my plants from Bruce Miller today has given me hope that America can and will overcome this virus. Of course, Bruce Miller is always well stocked with plants that are well organized and in great condition. I liked this nursery! I came here looking for a nice small plant I could put on my desk at work to liven it up a little. I looked around through all the tents and found rows and rows of plants, most of which were well labeled. There was a lady outside helping customers who seemed very, very knowledgeable about plants in general as well as their stock. Unfortunately, there was only one of her and there were many customers, so I never did get to ask for assistance. I have to give it to them--their plants are well cared for and well organized. Major groups are separated in different tents, so if you are looking for something specific it wouldn't be too difficult to find. I ended up settling with a Japanese painted fern--something I had never heard of before going here and definitely wouldn't have found most other places. It was overall a very good experience and I look forward to going back here before the spring is over! read more

the service is here is awful. this is not the kind of nursery you wander about casually exploring and discovering new and beautiful plants and flowers for your garden. don't bother asking any questions. they treat you like you're a waste of time. if you know what you want, miller's is fine to pick up what you need. i thought to myself, maybe they're prices are better since they could care less about service but... nope. they're about the same as any other nursery. also, their selection is not as healthy as calloway's or plant and planters. in fact, you can probably get better at home depot. 2x i've bought plants here were extremely weak. the first bunch, i ended up trashing. then the 2nd set i bought have been growing extremely slow and weak. i went to lowe's, bought the same species, and they are thriving. miller's is a nursery for flippers or landscapers. people who could care less whether they live or die. read more

Friendly staff, good selection of bedding and landscape plants. I've neglected to Yelp this nursery over the years only because I hadn't really visited for anything specific until now. After driving about all the nurseries in the North Dallas area and suburbs, I found something I was looking for. They had in stock some Rio Bravo Texas sages that I was interested in, plus less common variegated lavender and ornamental peppers. What throws me off about this nursery is that it seems cramped even though they have taken over a parking lot. so it was interesting finding parking especially with the stream of landscaper traffic going to and from the main road. Labeling and pricing good be improved in some of the greenhouses, but otherwise a solid neighborhood garden center. read more

After spending big bucks to try to save a red oak and using people recommended by the likes of the Dirt Dr. Howard Garrett, the Arborilogical Services in Dallas and Davey Tree (who did save one of my red oaks several years ago), I've discovered someone who could have really helped. Beware of the $75 an hour charge for root removal if the tree planters feel the previous tree stump wasn't ground deep enough. This will not be pointed out to you. The nursery worker planting the tree said this happens to customers all of the time. My arborist ground it to the nursery's specifications, but the nursery said he didn't. I guess I should have measured the hole myself! read more
