Cassie reassured me that it had probably been over watered and just needed a little TLC. A coworker with whom she consulted agreed. I felt a little silly, being so attached to and concerned about a plant! But Cassie and others at the counter were very kind and understanding. About a month has passed and my little plant has many new leaves and is coming back to life! I have always known that Calloway's has the best plant selection in the area, but the staff there are even more exceptional. They are definitely my go-to nursery.

On 7/4/26, a staff member was sitting in the cooler handing out water bottles -- 1-2 each -- to select customers, but skipped over us entirely. When we finally got inside, she asked how we were doing. My 80-year-old mother mentioned it was hot, and the employee replied, "Is it that hot since you're out?" -- dismissive, especially right after handing out water to other customers and not us. It felt like the staff cater to a certain type of customer, and we didn't fit that mold. Very disappointing and disheartening after being loyal customers for so long especially on July 4th.

The owner, Michael, was friendly and clearly trying to be helpful, but he seemed stretched very thin and was attempting to assist multiple customers at the same time. Having additional staff on the showroom floor would likely improve the customer experience and allow for more focused attention. The showroom itself felt somewhat disorganized and cluttered. For furniture that was being described as retailing for several thousand dollars, the presentation did not reflect the level of quality or luxury being advertised. Most of the furniture appeared to be average quality, and it was difficult to see the value being represented in the pricing discussions. Michael spent a significant amount of time explaining that he manufactures the furniture and cushions himself. From what I observed, only a handful of sets appeared to be custom-made, while much of the inventory seemed to be wholesale furniture with upgraded cushions. Beyond the showroom experience, I had concerns about lead times for special orders and whether communication throughout the process would be consistent. I was also unsure whether the final product would ultimately meet the quality expectations that were being promised. At the end of the day, patio furniture is a significant investment, and we decided to purchase from another retailer that had inventory available immediately and offered more certainty regarding product quality and availability. One additional concern was a strong odor of marijuana in the showroom and around the staff member assisting us. Whether it originated from the employee, another customer, or elsewhere, it created a less professional atmosphere than we expected when making a significant purchase. For a business selling higher-end products, presentation matters, and maintaining a clean, professional appearance can have a meaningful impact on customer confidence. While others may have a different experience, we ultimately did not feel confident enough in the process to move forward with a purchase. I give this a three-star rating because my intention is not to discourage others from shopping here, but rather to share my experience in hopes that the owner(s) take this review, along with the feedback provided by other customers, into account and make a few adjustments to improve the overall customer experience. There appears to be potential here, and with improvements to showroom presentation, staffing, communication, and professionalism, I believe the customer experience could be significantly better.
