Absolutely ecstatic to find such a great local nursery in Allen! We moved to Princeton in 2022 and my Home Depot plant picks haven't been surviving the 2022 or 2023 freezes (not to mention HD's plant prices have gone through the roof). In looking for a new place to shop for plants, Puckett's was a true gem of a find. I specially wanted a mix of mature and semi mature plants and Puckett delivered on every level of maturity, type, and they're not only plants and flowers - they have trees, shrubs, lots of ground cover options etc. From the street they don't look like much but their expansive backyard is so impressive. Will definitely come back when we get to fixing up our backyard. read more

Puckett's is a wonderful local gem! They had a large selection of plants to choose from, including trees! The place was larger than I anticipated with an indoor area, a large patio area, large indoor greenhouse area, and outdoor area for trees. I enjoy going to Puckett's Nursery anytime that I need plants, nutrients for plants, etc. They have been in business for many, many years. I always prefer to spend my money at a family owned business, rather than a big box store. The plants that I get there are very healthy and grow well. Only once have I had to get an exchange at Puckett's for a bush. That was like 10 years ago and that oak leaf hydrangea is still going strong. Recently, I bought a dianthus at Puckett's. Love Puckett's Nursery but the guy that they have handling their landscaping is absolutely horrible. He takes days to answer you and doesn't ever answer his phone but if you have patience it's a great little nursery but I would say this the service is not good!! read more

In an era when customer service can make or break a business, companies are bending over backwards to ensure that everyone, from the appraising visitor to the long-time loyal customer, has a positive experience. They know we'll vote with our wallets! And yet Puckett's Nursery is the exception: the allegedly "older lady" seems to treat everyone equally badly. On the phone she even hung up on me--in mid-sentence! I would prefer giving my good, hard-earned, local money to a local business, but Puckett's actively seeks to make the plant buying experience not just unwelcoming, but downright hostile. New favorite nursery! Was in the Allen area from Richardson for my son's baseball game, had some free time afterward and googled nearby nurseries. Puckett's reviews seemed promising, and it didn't disappoint! Wide selection of plants and decor, great vibe, sweet, helpful staff...almost didn't want to leave, lol! Puckett's has an okay selection of plants, but I was surprised that as a nursery they didn't have a larger variety of plants available. They seemed to have less of a selection than your local Lowe's or Home Depot would in their garden department. What they DO have is a very large lawn/outdoor decoration area. Lots of cute metal work and signs to put in your garden or in an outside area for decoration. I wouldn't recommend going here for plants, but if you're looking to spruce up an outdoor space, this is a good place! read more

the place is small which is cool and they've got a lot of plants. the prices are fair as well. they don't carry indoor plants. and the birds they have inside seem so stressed out. they have this bird that's plucked it's wings and two other small ones that are a little hostile. like they're not really taken care for or something. read more

I love this nursery have been going here for years. They have very healthy plants. However the older lady with short gray hair is not very helpful or nice. If you ask her where something is or any other question she acts like you are bothering her. When you work in customer service and people are spending money at your store be more grateful and kind especially during a panademic and people are supporting your business you could be more friendly. . I will still go here to buy plants because I like the quality of the plants here, but I will never ask that woman a question ever again. read more

This place is a family run business! With great knowledge about what to place on your lawn to green it up or kill the weeds. I have been coming here for years. I love going to Puckett's just to look at the displays. They are awesome. The staff there is very helpful and the layout of the nursery lets you shop according to the type of plantings you are looking for. All the perennials are together and the ones that love shade are actually displayed in the shade. Who would of thought? Puckett's is the place to go when you are looking for a particular plant. They were the first to have sweet potato vine when it became popular and i can always find bee balm there, although HD finally carried it this year. read more

Plants were great, it was the pure neglect of their parrots that bothered me--Four parrots indoors especially. All of the birds both indoors and out were lacking in adequate food and water. Two parrots indoors showing significant signs of neglect and stress through their plucking--made me sick, as a bird lover and raising parrots close to 20 years, myself. I hope they realize what they have done soon--I wanted to say something to their faces, but knew I'd lose my cool, so I just left. read more

Excellent, locally run garden shop. If you need gardening tips this is the place to go. I would not of known about a rose infestation had I not gone to this place. Previously getting a lot of my plants at Home Depot, this place has a much broader selection and the price is just as reasonable. I find a lot of times mom-and-pop shops have to mark things up a great deal just to stay in business but this place has great selection and great prices the only issue is sometimes the clerks when checking you out early little less than Rosie natured. read more

Great nursery that stocks plants from local vendors only, which is great since there is no question if the plants/flowers etc will grow in our climate. They also have a large bird cage and several kinds of birds including budgies and parrots. This will be my new go to for fresh flowers, herbs and succulents! read more

Very nice selection of plants, trees, garden supplies, and yard decor. During our visit, crowds of customers descended on the tables laden with spring flora. Despite that it was busy, there was no lack of customer service as staff members accosted visitors and answered questions. The look of the shop from Main St is deceiving; the nursery is on a very nice sized lot, and they fill it to the brim with everything a home gardener would need. Same flowers as lowes and Walmart but much higher prices. They're always so rude and unfriendly. I asked other people in the neighborhood who shopped there before and they also said "thank God! I thought it was just me!" Guess they don't play favorites with who they're rude to. I've been there 4 times and that's 4 times too many. I always find what I need when jt comes to plants and gardenind. They are super friendly and down to earth with great service. Very knowdelegeable and all of their plants are well taken care of. I like to support family businesses. But the people who work here are just not friendly or helpful; and for a fledging gardener, that is enough to send me packing! If I were the owner, and I knew my prices were already higher than the big-box places, I would encourage my employees to be helpful and eager to help shoppers, not just water plants and grumble answers. Or if I had to hire antisocial employees, I would post my prices so they were easily seen. I really wish I liked this place! read more

Puckett's just completed a major overhaul of our front yard landscape (scrubs/lava rock). They removed all the old stuff and replaced it with a variety of drought resistant (yes I know we are no longer in a dought)colorful plants, built a beautiful rock border, included an area of river rock, and put nice new mulch in. I am so excited and pleased with the new look! I would recommend Puckett's above any other nursery- they have great plants and take care of their customers! read more

Great beautiful plants. Awesome selection. Average prices on plants, but pots are way overpriced. Been there five times and staff never offer to help. Even checking out they continue talking to each other and just kind of ignore you. Also plants aren't really organized by theme, just scattered about. If you're looking for something specific, ask the cashier. They've got just about everything. Highly recommended. Plant selection is worth it. read more
