Your recollection of our conversation the day you provided the estimate left off a very important detail. You came out in early spring, to provide an estimate, when the sun rises further to the south (this area was shaded at that time) but as we get further into the summer the sun is further North (it's in full sun now). We talked about this! Being the professional landscaper, you should know how the seasons affect the sun/shade in planting areas with fences and structure nearby. In stead of making good on your mistake, you wanted to sell us other plants which we declined because we already paid you to landscape this area. You recommended what plants to plant! The repairs made on the pavers and underground drain is ugly. The pavers have a noticeable dip in them because you reset a small section rather than fixing it correctly. All the pavers should have been reset to slope away from the covered patio. After resetting the pavers, you did not fill in the spaces between the pavers. You would know this if you ever inspected your crews work but you've never been back since providing the estimate. You would have also seen the damage they did to our new gutters. And by the way, we are very pleased with the work our contractor did on our outdoor living space. read more

Plants & Planters always has such a great selection of plants, houseplants and lots of plants for outdoors as well. There are also some really cute decorations for you yard or patio area, like this adorable Groot planter and some colorful cacti that would make a great addition to any outdoor space. There was not as big of a selection of herbs as I would have liked but they have a house plant area that has some beautiful variations of begonias, pothos, and so many other variety of plants. This place is going from a 5 to a 2 for me. If you are into retail, you are in the service business whether you like it or not. While this place has gotten better in selection and value with its new ownership, my experience has been that it has gone down the toilet in customer service, at least at the register. I have shopped here for years and never had a problem with anyone, was always impressed by the selection and even the value. But one bad experience can change the whole impression of a place and and destroy years of reputation building in a consumer's mind. So here is what happened. Two visits ago we were hounded by them to join their loyalty program and while I hate the spam that usually comes along with joining those things, we went ahead and joined as it seemed important to the business. This time when we came, my wife forgot and did not tell them we were members when she approached the register. UNLIKE THEIR COMPETITORS, THEY DID NOT ASK IF WE WERE MEMBERS. After the transaction, my wife remembered and informed the person at the register (who I believe is one of the owners) that she was a member and got a truly shockingly bad response from a customer relations perspective. She was told that it was too late, and that it was her responsibility to tell them before the transaction and that they could not add the purchase points to the membership. To be clear, while not getting the points is part of it, the biggest part of it was the attitude with which this was put back on us. Seems like a little thing I know, but it's the little things become big things that affect whether I ever want to return to a place that we literally have spent thousands of dollars at in the past. read more

This is a great place to shop for plants! Great selection and the prices seemed reasonable. I like the outdoor displays, they often arrange plants around water features or statues. I grabbed a cart on the way in and found a few plants that I wanted to purchase. I looked around at all the outdoor displays and then headed indoors. I found the checkout area and was greeted by a friendly cashier. I completed my transaction and headed home to do some planting! read more

I called this nursery a few days in advance to ask if it would be okay to take some casual photos with my 6-month-old daughter while we shopped. The staff on the phone kindly said it was fine, as long as we didn't disrupt other customers or photograph anyone without consent. To be respectful, we arrived right at opening to avoid crowds and be as considerate as possible. Unfortunately, as soon as we began taking a few quick shots, the owner approached us abruptly and very rudely stated that photography was not allowed--and that if we wanted to take photos, it would cost $500. We calmly explained that we had called ahead and were told it would be okay, but he dismissed this and said his staff was wrong. The tone and negativity completely changed the atmosphere. What was supposed to be a lighthearted, supportive visit turned uncomfortable and disappointing. We had every intention of making purchases, but the energy was so unwelcoming that we chose to leave. We ended up going just down the road to Calloway's, where we were warmly welcomed. Their selection was even better--more variety, beautifully maintained plants, and incredibly friendly staff. The contrast in experience was night and day. If you're looking for a positive environment, knowledgeable team, and a place that respects its customers, Calloway's is the way to go. read more

I seriously can't say enough good things about this nursery! I've been to a few places around Texas, but this one easily tops the list. From the second I walked in, I was blown away by how beautiful everything was. The plants were all super healthy, well cared for, and they had such a fun variety--from vibrant flowers and unique hanging plants to big statement trees and cute little succulents. You could tell they really love what they do. What really made the experience special, though, was how helpful and kind the staff were. I'll be honest--I don't know much about plants. I just knew I wanted to spruce up the front of my house and needed something that wouldn't die in a week. They walked me through everything so patiently, asked about the sun exposure in my yard, how much upkeep I wanted to deal with, and helped me find the perfect mix. I didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed, just super supported. And the best part? I found out they also offer landscaping services! I had no idea, but now I'm definitely planning to reach out to have them help with a full front yard makeover. If their landscaping work is anything like their nursery, I already know it's going to turn out amazing. All in all, this was such a great experience. I left with a car full of beautiful plants and a big smile on my face. If you're in the area and even thinking about adding some greenery to your space, do yourself a favor and check this place out. I was in the area and decided to come check out Plants and Planters - and I am SO glad that I did. They have a great selection and price points starting at just under $2 all the way up into the hundreds . The staff offered to help me multiple times and the woman at the register was such a sweetheart. Not to mention, the ambiance is absolutely adorable ! There were ducks in the pond out front and a friendly little kitty on the premises as well. They have a little bit of everything and some great deals throughout the store - including sales on some planters and a clearance section for some plants. It's been here a long time and the friendly ppl that run it give honest, solid advice. The plants themselves are hydrated, and healthy, with a good variety of seasonal color, perennials, AND houseplants. I recently shopped in March, after visiting a nearby nursery with my sister and a close friend. Our friend was looking for something very specific (yellow petunias, to fill planters on her front porch) unavailable at the previous nursery. They started heading on to a nursery on their side of town, and I stopped by Plants and Planters on my return home. As soon as I arrived, I called to inform them that everything they needed was right here, and with excellent prices. So they turned their car around, and met me. After a lot of ooohs, and ahs, our friend found the exact color combination she was looking for, in pre-made baskets, for a great price! (mixed lavender, white, purple petunias + she added in the yellow that she loves) Of course my sister and I purchased herbs, and annuals too. The cherry on top is incredibly pleasant, and friendly staff! I've always loved shopping here since the 90s, and I drive the 20+ miles for a great experience, and excellent selection. read more

I came today to check some outdoor plants in the outdoor area, and a male employee was so hostile in the way he said: WE DONT ALLOWS DOGS HERE, AND WE HAVE SIGN IN THE FRONT. What a low costumer services, people should to learn how to be more kind towards others AND KINDNESS ITS FREE. They have a large selection one indoor/outdoor plants, planters and quirky garden decor. Pricing is very fair compared to Calloways and they even have notes on all the plants with care tips and suggestions. We're purchased a few plants from here in the past few years and have been really happy with their service. We dropped by earlier today and had questions regarding our fiddle which recently has been dropping leaves. One of the most iconic greenhouses in Dallas, y'all! As much as I love an overpriced, minimalist plant shop (I'm being sarcastic), there's nothing that beats a good ole garden center. The variety is excellent and they keep their instagram up to date with their latest arrivals- terrible for my bank account but amazing for my garden. Also, I'm being dramatic, because truly the prices here are excellent. You're not going to pay $20 for a 3in succulent. You're gonna pay $20 for a cool, weird plant you didn't know existed and it's going to bring you sincere joy during your seasonal depression. Would give a 6 out of 5 if I could. Purchased two spineless prickly pear cacti and we are really happy with them. Felt that they were reasonably priced. Great selection of clay pots. One tip I have for them is to have an iPad with a Square card reader to serve as a backup for their register when they get busy. Such a great little nursery! So many houseplants to choose from that I haven't been able to find most anywhere else. They also have some unique pottery options in various shapes and sizes. It was cold and rainy so I didn't spend much time outside but they have a fairly extensive selection of outdoor offerings as well. On the way to Calloway's I decided to stop by this nursery which I didn't really know about. It just happened to pop up on my way. Glad I stopped by. I didn't expect to buy anything because I already have most of the plants I have been looking for. Only a handful of plants left that I don't expect to find. Anyways I left with about 4-5 plants. Got a few that you'd never find at any other box store. They had some rarer plants and of course I left with expectations highly met. I was excited to see philodendron Brazil, and also String of Pearls. Did add a Rubber Tree and Philo Burle Marx as well. Will be a returning customer. If you're into indoor plants. I was hoping for amazing service and plants based on most of the other reviews, but that was not my experience. It feels good to support small businesses and I have no problems paying a premium for service. Obviously they were open so someone must have been working, and there were several cars in the parking lot...but I saw no one that was obviously an employee, just maybe two other customers. The plants they had were mostly in very good shape, the air conditioned plant room is refreshing, and there were a few items I was interested in but without anyone to help me I left empty handed and will not return. read more

Met the owners during my visit and they seemed like the most genuine people with a deep love for all plants! This location has been here fore years and it's now being discovered by my generation. The space is amazing and the selection of plants is so great!! The greenhouse will take your breath away and when you walk out your skin will be glowing! So glad I found this nursery thanks to Yelp! Such a wide selection of plants. I came in looking for a large snake plant because I wanted a plant that could tolerate low light conditions to fill a corner of my living room while needing minimal care. Plants & Planters did not disappoint - I absolutely love my new plant!! I also picked up a beautiful Calathea plant during my visit today. They take the proper COVID precautions with masks and signs directing traffic flow, so I felt very safe browsing here. The staff is also very helpful! I had questions about a planter pot I had at home for a Pothos plant and the kind lady at the register helped me with her suggestion. I greatly appreciated that the gentleman who initially greeted me carried my large snake plant out to my car.
