I came in looking for a large snake plant because I wanted a plant that could tolerate low light conditions to fill a corner of my living room while needing minimal care. Plants & Planters did not disappoint - I absolutely love my new plant!! I also picked up a beautiful Calathea plant during my visit today. They take the proper COVID precautions with masks and signs directing traffic flow, so I felt very safe browsing here. The staff is also very helpful! I had questions about a planter pot I had at home for a Pothos plant and the kind lady at the register helped me with her suggestion. I greatly appreciated that the gentleman who initially greeted me carried my large snake plant out to my car. I absolutely love this nursery! I guess my mom's green thumb has been passed down to me because things like THIS are what excite me nowadays. I was on the search for some succulents and pretty indoor plants to decorate an apartment with and I had to look no further than Plants & Planters. The owner greeted me pretty quickly when I walked in and was perusing the outdoor plants and she remained close-by for the entirety of my visit. Walking inside, the warehouse was filled with beautiful pots and ornaments and gardening supplies for purchase. Next, I passed through a patio (where I was met with a couple of friendly cats laying around sunbathing) and was transported to another world. The greenhouse is absolutely beautiful and so interesting to walk through and explore. I ended up buying a few succulents and indoor plants to add some life into the home. I don't have much of a green thumb but one of the owners was extremely helpful with helping me find plants that were easy to care for and perfect for the amount of light in my home. This is the best nursery if your looking for great service and a terrific selection. Folks are very friendly and knowledgeable. I went in to see those awesome selection of indoor plants. From small cactus to big plants, they have your indoor pot and plant needs covered. It's even worth a little window shopping if you just want to see what's available. I will begin by saying I enjoyed the plants and pottery that was there, it was nice and very well taken care of. They have a good variation of plants with some more "rare" species. We are traveling from SF and have all our stuff and our pup in our truck. It is 100+ degrees outside. I will admit I totally missed the sign that said "no dogs", it was on the other side of the path from which I entered. I have a rescue dog who was walking calmly. I walked inside where a white older woman (not wearing a mask) began making barking/whining noises to try to talk to the dog?? I let her know that he was very scared of people, to which she began to come closer and tried to lean down / reach out towards the dog. Her fellow employees are telling her not to scare him. The dog is visibly afraid and tries to run away and I told her that he is afraid of people and not to touch him. I comfort him while other workers are talking to me about him. She just told me to carry him around the store (which is already what I was doing). When we finally found the plant we wanted we came up we rang up the plant and she went on about how she didn't mean to scare him, and that they don't like dogs in the store because they have cats. "Who died a while ago" HUH... Okay! The plants are cool. Lots of houseplants and pots on sale. That lady was weird. I've never had anyone continue to try to get attention from my dog like that after I explicitly say not to. read more

Have you ever seen the movie FernGully? This place has a greenhouse that is ferngully quality (pre Hexxus of course). So many great plants to browse and collect! Picked up a silver satin pothos and a cute little christmas cactus for a friend. Eyed down some of the pilea peperomioides but was too intimidated. I've only been once, but I will definitely be back! people in dallas do not take their gardening lightly. it's no joke here. from trees to flowers to water features and grass, if you don't keep up with the jones, you might as well hang up your hat, stick your tail between your legs and ride off into the sunset. the beginning of spring is like black friday at any and all nurseries. if you want your landscape ready for sunny days and warm balmy nights, you better get movin. luckily we got most of our landscaping done before the mad rush but there were a few things i wanted to get for the final touches, but no luck. plants and planters have a wonderful selection of exotic trees, cactuses and flowers that are all extremely healthy and beautiful for a reasonable price. the service is a bit quirky and can seem a bit intimidating. but they are knowledgeable. unfortunately i discovered this lil gem late in the game but i will be back. till then, i'm hanging up my gardening hat. read more

If you know your stuff, just go in and buy. If you need help, the staff is very knowledge. The staff is small in numbers, so you may need to wait a little for help. During your wait stroll around the covered outdoor area or get renewed in the greenhouse at the back of the store. The Plants and Planters people are honest, helpful and priced competitively. This place has been my go-to for indoor and outdoor plants and landscaping. The knowledge is beyond what anyone else can offer and the plants are stellar in health. I've read all of the negative reviews on this place and agree with them saying "if you want something you can return go to Lowe's". The big chains are used to returns in the landscaping department because while the plants are taken care of from the growers side of it once they reach Homedepot or Lowe's they are loosely maintained until they die or sell. I'm proud to support local family owned businesses that not only have pride in their work but they have been in business for 40 years and that is a reflection of service, quality and knowledge. This place is amazing. They have the largest selection of house plant that I have seen in Dallas. My husband and I had previously gone to a chain store for plants and found very little selection and mostly dry yellowed leaves. All the plants at Plants and Planters looked so pretty and healthy! Some of the larger house plants are pretty expensive for what we hoped- but you won't find them anywhere else so I guess you're getting what you pay for. We posted photos of our new plants and had numerous friends and family say how lovely they were and ask where we got them. I will definitely come back later into spring! read more

There is a large greenhouse/houseplant area with a very interesting selection. I love their handwritten tags with sun exposure/key facts for each variety. The owners are helpful and the shop cats are friendly too! This is an attractive nursery and I enjoy walking through to see what they have. I am redoing my whole landscape and everything from here on out will probably come from here. They have an outstanding selection and everything has a card telling all about it, where to plant, how to water, etc.... I had a guy approach me and offer any help I needed, loaded a birdbath for me, talked about fruit trees and other plants, and helped me put everything I bought in my truck. I recently called Shelly to see if she could put together a lovely planter with a flowering shrub and seasonal color for my daughter's birthday. She is so knowledgable about which plants would be best and guided me to just the right suggestion. What really made the difference was that they were able to deliver it to my daughter's home in time for her birthday! My daughter told me that they gave her information about the pot they choose and even sent me a picture after they delivered. This is going above and beyond. Shelly, Jerry and William will take their time to talk to you about what your plants have wrong with them, and are not trying to sell you on ANYTHING that will be bad in your landscape.
