When our refrigerator compressor died last night my husband was quick to start investigating a replacement. He found a great choice online and called this location to get more info. He was lucky enough to connect with Ms.Josephine Bono, a 10 year vet of the less-than-fabulous Home Depot. He approached a man in the HD garb, standing in the Appliance Dept. He asked,"Do you work in this dept.?" The 'associate' replied, "Aren't I standing here"? Not exactly a vote of confidence, yes? Hubby asked for a woman named Josephine Bono. Mr. Charisma pointed to the back and said, "There's a woman." Indeed it was and she turned out to be Ms. Bono. Josephine took care of my Hubby's questions, looked up facts, figures, better deals, arranged for a generous rebate and we now own a top of the line LG Refrigerator to be delivered this week. Sadly, the first associate encountered is a very typical Home Depot employee; bored, disinterested, busy with his/her cell phone, personal conversations, eager to push the customer onto someone--anyone!-else. Josephine is a jewel; knowledgable, friendly, cordial, concerned in providing the best info & service she can to the customer. We were very lucky to find her among the great Clueless that Home Depot employs. Shop there only if your neighborhood hardware/appliance store can't fill your request. I bought a GE oven/stove from them online and had it delivered. The stovetop does not work properly - the burners will stay hot. I called Home Depot and they told me I had to talk to GE. GE sent a service person out who told me that he can't fix it, that it's supposed to work that way. Which makes no sense. Now I am trying to return it to Home Depot and I have been on hold for almost two hours - over three phone calls - been transferred all over the place and no one knows how to do a return. No one! Thankfully I bought it with an American Express card and I am going to charge it back. Maybe that will get the attention of someone at Home Depot. read more

If you want an item, order it online, let someone get it, then pick it up at the Customer Service desk! If you don't, there's a good chance that the item's location will be empty and the "48 in stock at Everett, MA" will all be up above because nobody has bothered to do any downstocking. I do give the company points for hiring visually impaired associates, though - there's nothing like standing in a department and looking at that item's location in the overhead while said associates walk by, staring straight ahead and not asking if they can help. read more

Rich was a HUGE help! we came in looking to build a hop-back (a hop-back is a way to filter your home brewed beer through a chamber filled with hops give beer a unique twist) and Rich helped us find all the parts we would need. he spent over an hour with us, he is very knowledgeable and was determined to make sure we had everything we would have needed. read more

The issue is related to the appliance department. We purchased the combo washes here. The delivery company -spirit is terrible! This is the Third time they trying to delivery our washers ( 1st time: defective main washer, 2nd time: the delivery guy didn't know it's combo washers and he lacked tools to install them so he just went away. Seriously is it soooo hard to put a note on the delivery form stating what they are going to deliver and install?! ) and now this time the technician just refused to deliver and install the washers claiming there should be two drain holes and we only have one so he can't install them. We showed him the LG website FAQs and even the video telling him he can install them by just using the connectors comes in the package. But he REFUSED to install them and took away our washers. It's such a waste of our time! We'll never buy appliances from Home Depot, the delivery guys lack the basic knowledge of installation! We'll look for other stores with better delivery & installation service, and better customer service. If the first time failed delivery was just unluck, the second failed delivery was definitely their inner-communication problem. And this time-training problem. ------------------- Update: the 4th time they didn't bring the bottom small washer and the delivery company only had the main washer on their delivery form, so failed delivery & installation AGAIN. We called and they are assuring us next time( which would be the 5th time) they will bring TWO washers. We will wait and see. I can't believe it's been TWO MONTHS since the washers been ordered. This is definitely a negative experience. Update: the 5th time no pedestal washer AGAIN. They said no record, so who took it back to the warehouse didn't scan it. Yep the third time delivery guys created all these mess! And Whoever made those badly instructed delivery/return procedures should get fired. How can they not scan EVERYTHING back to the warehouse EVEN AFTER WE CALLED THEM ON THE DATE OF THE RETURN? Now they need to find the pedestal in the warehouse and HOPEFULLY deliver them TOGETHER next time. WE ARE SO MAD now AND HOME DEPOT HAS NOT CONTACTED US OR APOLOGIZED FOR ANYTHING yet. Extremely disappointed with their service. If you try and call them- you'll be on hold for hours. That's not an exaggeration. Not sure if they're short-staffed or just incompetent. I wish there was a lower star I could assign Home Depot. I made an appointment and missed work to be here for an attic insulation and the guy cancels on me 10 minutes before citing that he cannot use a ladder in the house; if its not built into the attic. It would be nice to know this ahead of time when I make an appointment 2 weeks prior. I spoke to a supervisor about this dilemma and he offered no solutions to the matter. No solution to this issue. Last week I bought two electronic mouse traps from this Home Depot. When I opened them at home, one had already been used, as evidenced by the crumbled remains of old peanut butter on the bait door. Today I brought back the obviously used trap which was sold to me as new, and the customer service representative was horrified and apologetic. I get my money back and buy a different brand of trap, only to get home and discover it is also a used trap as there is more remains of peanut butter on the bait trap door! I didn't realize that this Home Depot is in the business of reselling used items and passing them off as new. If I could give less than one star I would. Go elsewhere and get products that haven't already been used yet. read more

On 11/8 I went to Customer Service/Return to make a return only to be left feeling disrespected and discriminated against. The so called manager (Kerry) expected me to know that I could not return Unopened, Uncolored Clearance paint, that I bought less than 7 days ago to ANY Home Depot location. I had my receipt and the credit card I purchased it on. When I bought the paint NO ONE said to me if you need to return this you must come back to this location! BEWARE, of the unwritten policies that so called "managers" make up depending on who they are serving. Say a prayer before you go in hoping to be served by an employee who operates with Intelligence and Integrity. After 15 minutes of me loudly voicing my frustration (not encouraged) another employee understood and came over to assist and provide me with a better customer service experience. Thank you Danielle (Paint Dept) for saving me from further aggravation. Unfortunately I will not return to this location! I also agree the wait time over the phone is ridiculous. I purchased a washer and dryer on Cyber Monday. It wasn't available for delivery until after Christmas. I waited, because I thought I got a good deal. It was delivered without a stacking kit. Said stacking kit has taken an additional 10 or so days to come in. The company that hooks it up, lost my invoice, so that's gonna take a few more days. I won't have a working washer and dryer until January 6. I will never make a big purchase with Home Depot again. It has cost me as much to do my laundry outside of my home, as it would have to purchase it elsewhere to begin with. Lesson learned. Update: this is the second time I've tried to get my appliance installed. The company handling it "KPO"? Is unprofessional, and incompetent. They gave me a widow of 8-12 today, and showed up at 7:30. Does customer service exist in this store?, a 90+ degree day i brought my mother to buy some (30) cement squares for a patio .. we were going to buy 60 but since we walked into the garden shop with the cashier just sitting on the bags of soil with no hi how are you nothing!, so we walk to the aisle to pick up the cement squares, with not 1 but 3 guys walk by the aisle look & keep going .. get all of our purchase by ourselves .. I ordered a dishwasher from them two weeks ago from the Methuen branch. The earliest delivery date was today. I took the day off work and waited for them to arrive. I was told they would be at my home between 3-7 p.m. I was also told that the driver would call or text when he or she was 30 minutes away. At 7:00 p.m. I hadn't heard anything. I called the delivery service multiple times but never got a person on the line. I called Home Depot and was given the run around for more than an hour. No one knew anything. I never got my dishwasher on the day it was scheduled to arrive and Home Depot did nothing to fix the problem. I would not order from them again, especially for anything needing delivery. I still have no idea what happened because no one seems to know anything. read more

This is a review in particular for Albert Lafauci working in the kitchen design. A few years ago, I had purchased several appliances from this HD. Needed the warranty information. Albert went through an archaeological dig into time and paperwork to unearth the trove of information I needed. His patience, happy attitude thrown in with some kick-ass whistling tune ability helped a lot. I hope HD Everett realizes and recognizes their stellar employees like Albert Lafauci. read more

I went and bought a Christmas tree on December 1st at Home Depot in everett . This is my first time getting a real tree so this was an exciting experience I got the tree preserver I make sure there's a full gallon of water everyday under the tree . and was told that the trees were freash and will last till after Christmas so as we got it home and decorated it and by Monday December 4th all the needles from the Fraser fur tree are falling off more and more . So I called Home Depot and they told me there was nothing they could do. I just spent $100 on the tree and stand . So now I have to go get a new tree . I'm not happy . This just ruined our new freash start Christmas after having a really bad year now I have to replace the tree with a fake one . I will Never shop at this Home Depot again. Went in to buy a basic gas range. Sales associate lied about the installation and delivery process. (She said the delivery and installation crews would coordinate to install new stove and haul away old one... They don't!) They delivered (after over a week of waiting) a damaged range. We returned it and tried to coordinate the delivery and installation of a new one. Each department blamed the other. They all passed us off to another person to talk to... No one was able to help. After a week of trying, we gave up and tried to cancel and get a refund. Turns out I couldn't do that over the phone so I had to go back into the store again. After an hour of trying to get our money back, they finally relented. I drove over to Gray's Appliance in Melrose and in 2 days they delivered and installed the same range and hauled away the old one. And they matched the Home Depot price. That will be my last visit to Home Depot. read more

The customer service at Home Depot seems to be going down the tubes. I was a looking for a particular light and online it showed the store has 67 lights. I called same night to make sure and the person told me that yes, they are in stock. I made a special trip the following day to finds out that the lights are no on the shelf and "maybe on a truck" and was todl to come back. This situation happened to the Home Depot in Watertown and Waltham. THe assosiates working in those store do not even care about the customers and did not even want to show a good effort to try to help me. read more

I think the management of this store has gone downhill. As others have noted, the unmotivated staff far outnumber the motivated staff. Their inventory is unpredictable and they don't keep good track of it. Many items are actually returns that have been repackaged and often have parts missing. Interestingly, last Christmas we bought a tree from them, and it was a rather good tree, which was surprising and the person who helped us with the tree was very good. read more

Great Selection and location. Have always found informative help and suggestions from staff. I bought a huge pile of stuff to replace the floor in my bathroom. I had to exchage most of it as I overestimate the high of the floor and my wifes taste in tiles. How much does Home Depot suck? Well, I went to the Home Depot in Everett, AM today. I went get a water filter for the refrigerator. So, I went to the appliance department and the moron there told me to go to Aisle 9. What was in Aisle 9? Water purification systems. So, I asked another Einstein where I could find water filters for refrigerators. He sent me back to the appliance department. After going back to the first department I was at, I was told be another genius that she did not know where the filters were. I gave up. I then went outside to find some landscape stakes for outdoor weed fabric. A third genius told me that they were at the other end of the store in lumber. Of course I started to feel that these people were all on drugs, and I walked 5 FEET down the aisle from where I asked the third moron, and lo and behold, there were the landscape stakes. No wonder why Home Depot is losing business. Morons. Not one of them could tell me where to find a thing, even though they were less than ten feet away from the product. read more

Okay, so why am I writing a review on Home Depot? I'll make it short and simple. I'm moving, and I needed bubble wrap for my more fragile items. First and foremost, Home Depot sells bubble wrap that is GREEN. It's not just that it is colored green, but it is made from recycled plastic. Second, I wanted a 100-foot roll, but on the night I was there, the store only had 75-foot rolls and 125-foot rolls. After staring quixotically at the shelf, someone came over (plus the store was closing) and asked if I could use some help. I pointed to a few rolls shoved on the shelves between aisles and asked if those were 100-foot rolls. He climbed in and checked for me, but they were just more 75-foot rolls. He yelled to the cashier closest to us and told her that the 125-foot roll of bubble wrap he just handed me was to be $3 off, so that it would be the price of the smaller roll. Now that's good customer service. It's the little things that count/matter. read more

I am painting my entire apartment and purchased 3 gallons of Behr Dolphin Fin flat. I was running low, so I purchased a fourth gallon to finish painting my bedroom. Towards the end of the job, I had two open cans of the same paint. One for the cutting in and one for the rollers. After completing the last two walls, I discovered that the paint was two different colors. I thought I should let it dry and see if the colors would dry and not be different. They weren't. So, I checked the little dab of paint they put on each lid and found that they were noticeably different even though the name of the color and the formula were identical. Well, this was not acceptable. I took both cans back and while they gave me a new gallon of paint, they could not explain how that happened and they, of course, cannot re-imburse you for the time or the blue painter's tape and the general disappointment. I will now be much more vigilant with the people mixing the color. I think (although I am not sure) that they used the wrong base because the machine (same machine each time) measures and adds the tint. The one I have now is correct. So, be careful when they mix your paint. It may not be right and you will be out a day's work and all the painting accessories. read more

Some of the people that work here are fantastic. But, they don't answer the phone and if you cancel an order you make, that you never picked up, you actually have to go to the store to get your refund. It's basically like making a donation to the store. It costs $60 bucks to get anything delivered. read more

I recently had occasion to go to the Everett store after my local Somerville Home Depot was out of the lighting product I was looking to purchase. Somerville's computer system indicated that even though they were out of stock the Everett store had 23 packages on hand. I quickly got in my car and drove over to the Everett store. Low and behold after much searching in the light bulb aisle I could not find any of the 23 packages that were supposed to be on hand. Based on that disappointing information I decided to ask for help to search the Everett inventory...and ask for help...and ask for help...and ask for help but get nothing from any of the support staff. At this point I blew my stack and asked for a manager. Low and behold Joe the manager showed up 5 minutes later; calmed me down; listened to my problem and then went about solving it. Forty-five minutes after entering the store and Joe looking at every high storage shelf in the entire electrical department, Joe solved my problem. He did it with a smile on his face and a desire to help a previously frustrated customer. Needless to say I am much appreciative of Joe's efforts and he can be proud that he made one person a lifetime Home Depot customer. read more

I had been debating for some time whether to use a big box chain like Home Depot to install my new kitchen or go with a small, independent installer. I opted for Home Depot expecting that their experience and prices would make my experience a fast and efficient yet meticulous one. Plus, my father works for Home Depot. A week prior to July 4th weekend I went to Home Depot and started drawing out plans with their consultant. They made everything seem easy. Below is a list of SOME of the things that went wrong with my order. -Contractor came, he told me I would need a permit, have to redo a lot of the plumbing, and need new drywall but this was not included in the quote I signed at HD. It took an additional week for a quote on the plumbing and another week for a quote on the drywall and permit. Not sure why these weren't included considering they are required for the install and I had giant holes in my walls. I already started feeling like I was being taken advantage of and that communication was going to be an issue. -Contractors called to start the project on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. I specifically asked if anyone would be working on Monday since I didn't want to get rid of my sink and render my kitchen unusable for a long weekend if nothing was really going to happen. They said yes, someone would be working on Monday. They sent a plumber who literally was at the house for an hour and then left. He disconnected my stove, ripped out my sink and then left. Monday came and no one came to the house. Tuesday I was told someone would come, no one came. It wasn't until Wednesday that I not only discovered no one was scheduled to come to my house until Thursday but that the plumber didn't even have the plans from Home Depot. Why would he come to rip out my sink and leave me with no kitchen for 4 days with no plans? This total disregard for the major inconvenience it is to have no kitchen continued throughout the process. - Wrong hardware was ordered by Home Depot and they didn't know what I had originally ordered and had to go in and re-order it. This took a week and a half to resolve -Original Countertop order was lost and I had to go into the store and verify the name plus make more than a handful of calls back and forth with the manufacture, HD and the contractors to straighten everything out myself -Contractors spilled something on my floor and went into my PERSONAL property and used 2 towels from my closet to clean the mess and didn't tell me about it until I confronted them!! -Original contractor I was speaking to had an attitude problem and was always making me feel like i was bothering him with my questions -No mention was ever made about how long it would take to do the drywall and plumbing changes so instead of this work happening while the cabinets were being delivered (3 weeks) they didn't start working on that until after they arrived. It drew out the process for an additional 3 weeks. This was totally unnecessary. You would think that they would have the experience to be fixing the drywall, etc while the cabinets are being delivered to save time. -When I would call to speak to the manager I would never get a call back and they would usually have to hang up and call me back because they couldn't find my order -After finding no relief from the manager of the Kitchen Dept. I ask to speak with a store manager. That manager also failed to respond to me in a timely manner and communication about what was happening was very poor. I was making all the calls between the countertop manufacture, the contractor and home depot to clarify plans consistently. I had all of these numbers on speed dial and was on the phone with someone daily coordinating things. I then asked to speak to the store manager who while friendly, still did a poor job of communicating procedures or expediting anything. -Kitchen was only complete a few weeks ago. It took over 4 months to go through the whole process and I'm still not done with them! I requested some type of compensation for this disaster and was not only told multiple times, "yes, of course" to then have no one follow up with me but then when I finally was able to get someone to make an offer, it was a discount they claimed the contractor was offering me. I had to explain to Home Depot that the $700 dollars the contractor was discounting was in no way compensation since the original estimate they gave me involved plumbing work that they never did. This was an adjustment to make the bill fair. Home Depot then came back to me with a mere $700 dollar offer. I am paying over $13,000 for this kitchen! For $13,000 I was expecting that I would be relieved of all the back end coordination involved in this process and that it would be completed in a timely manner with excellent customer service. This low ball offer is what is prompting me to write this review - they can't even compensate me for their mistakes on a $13,000 order read more

I went with a friend yesterday to buy paint for a raft we are building this summer. Normally we haven't been given much help at HD. So we tried to navigate the paint section ourselves, which was a huge mistake. We almost bought a gallon of Kilz, which isn't even paint, or something, I forget. But then we found Michele, I hope that's hope I didn't butcher the spelling. She asked us what we needed to buy, what for, and other questions. I don't know how paint works, so I assumed we needed to buy 5 gallons "Alright, so here is our selection, it's a bit pricey" And when I saw the almost 200$ price tag I realized we probably didn't need 5 gallons. After giving her the dimensions of the project, she took us right to a gallon of Behr white paint, which she then mixed with black for our color we needed. She walked us through every step, and showed interest. Even when a customer came back to try and buy marked down paint, Michelle was calm and helpful, even though this customer was trying to scheme her way to a better price. I went there the other day for a new fridge. Yes, I found what I want, and I'm sure I could find the same thing somewhere else. But to me, it's not just about the product, its about the service. This time I had a very nice salesman help me find what I want. I can be tough when I am looking for something specific but he was patient and helpful. He seemed eager to help and to make sure I got what I needed- not what I wanted- but what I NEEDED too. Its refreshing to find good customer service these days. read more

I am not a person who usually writes reviews. However, our experience today needs to be shared. My husband and I visited the Everett Home Depot last week and were given a price of $49/sq ft for a granite countertop. This included free installation and a free sink. Great! Went back today to place our order. Saw the posted $49 price and we thought we were good to go. We sat with the saleswoman for about an hour setting our order in motion. Now the problems....First of all the sink is not included. Then, When our order was entered, the price came up as $53/sq. ft. Finally had to get the manager on the phone. Our saleswoman tried to have him honor the posted price, but he refused. He said the reason was that the vendor wouldn't allow it. However, we were offered the opportunity to place and pay for our $2700 order today and try to get the contractor to give us a refund later. We also intended to purchase an $800 stove today, as well. This is certainly not good customer service! We left and they have lost our business. read more
