Her staff has always been helpful and if they don't know the answer to your question they ask someone else. They don't just dismiss you. I love that they load purchases into your vehicle. The prices aren't the absolute best but they are a smaller store so that has to be factored in. Overall the store and staff are wonderful. They are a huge asset to our little town.

I was just following the process to get the email and return with the label in the young lady said. "Oh yes, we do that all the time. Please bring your stuff in. "So I got a car, went down there and as soon as I took my items out this other clerk comes over says" oh no, we don't do that. You need to have items in the box and labeled". I explained that I just called within the past half hour and was told to bring things down after I made it very clear what I was doing. And next thing I know this other young girl pops up with a manager name tag and says sir "I don't know who you spoke to but we don't do that here". I had a shopping list of things. I wanted to buy in there, but at that point I just walked out and I'll just order off of amazon, which always seems to be so much easier nowadays

YouTube videos can only teach you so much, and like most people I am a kinesthetic learner (learn by doing, not just watching or listening). I began filling my workshop power tool wish list at Rockler of 11639 W. Broad St, Richmond (Henrico), VA 23233 about a year ago, and noticed they offered classes, as well as demonstrations, for many woodworking skills. I signed up for the "Cabinetry Beginner Fundamentals" (July 24, 2024) presented by JW. The day-long class opened my eyes to many procedures in cabinetry, filling in my knowledge gaps and in some cases rewriting what I thought I knew about joinery and table saw use. No matter your skill level, I recommend checking out Rockler's class offerings. The W. Broad store is well-organized, clean, and has an expansive inventory of hand- and power-tools for every project, clamps (because "you can never have too many clamps"), literature, and a wide selection of wood, including some exotics. They frequently run specials and promotions. Big box retailers are fine for most items, but if you want to step it up I highly recommend this store.

I figured I'd call the store to verify that they're open before I drive 40 miles. No message on their answering machine saying whether they're open or closed, the phone machine says please leave a message. I decided I'd head over there anyway. The roads weren't bad at all, the parking lot was completely plowed and the Rockler store was closed unlike Best Buy across the parking lot which was open and there were plenty of cars there. I'm pissed, you got to be kidding me. Obviously the manager of the store has no clue what's going on, I can only imagine what it's like when it's open. While I'm sitting here writing this review, 4 customers have walked up to the door only to find out that it's locked. Completely unacceptable, I won't be back and could not recommend this place to anyone. If I were you I would shop at Amazon, like I usually do. But I wanted to check out the store as I haven't been to this store before. Never again.

I didn't expect a free estimate but they charged my $3,720 for an estimate!…read more My house has a pair of sewage ejector pumps in a concrete tank and one of the pumps failed. I called the Williamson Pump and Motor. Their phone number was on the panel as they (or their predecessor) was the original installer. They sent an electrician who looked at the control panel and told me that a pump had failed and needed to be replaced. He said another team could come out and look at the pump, give me a final quote and do the work. The second team spent an hour at the house and informed me that they would have to follow up with a quote. The quote was around $10,000 and the work could not be done right away. Because this was a costly item, I decided to get other quotes. I found another company that was able to do the work right away and as a benefit was about 25% cheaper. Later I received an invoice from Williamson Pump and Motor for $3,720 to diagnose the problem with my system. I called and spoke with their accounting department. They admitted to several errors in the billing and suggested a reduced amount of $1,250. I had signed a rate sheet that agreed to $185 per hour for technicians. I had one technician for 1 hour and as a follow up, 2 technicians for another hour. I expected to pay $555 for their diagnostic services plus some incidentals. Feeling generous and wanting to find an immediate remedy, I proposed that I pay them $800. We agreed finally on $880 which I think was incredibly generous on my part. I found their accounting people to be helpful and we arrived at this resolution rather quickly. I question the accuracy of the billing practices that generated the original invoice amount. I don't know if the "error" was a mistake or was disingenuous but will give them the benefit of doubt. I found their technicians to be grumpy and non-communicative but they have a dirty job, and I think they performed their work safely and with competence. I think they could be better at communicating. I think customers should get a very clear understanding, in writing, of what charges you are agreeing to in advance so you will not be surprised by charges you did not expect.

After a dubious claim of a need for repair and a doubling/tripling of the rate they had previously quoted to do the work I did some research. Not only was the original rate high but the new rate was astronomical. Extremely bad experience. My advice - get 3 quotes and skip having one of them from Williamson.
