I have been shopping in this store for decades before Lauren took it over. The selection of products is just right for the average consumer. Her staff has always been helpful and if they don't know the answer to your question they ask someone else. They don't just dismiss you. I love that they load purchases into your vehicle. The prices aren't the absolute best but they are a smaller store so that has to be factored in. Overall the store and staff are wonderful. They are a huge asset to our little town. read more

I called before going and explained I had 3 UPS return labels in my email and asked if I could bring in for label returns. Emphasized I did not have boxes. I was just following the process to get the email and return with the label in the young lady said. "Oh yes, we do that all the time. Please bring your stuff in. "So I got a car, went down there and as soon as I took my items out this other clerk comes over says" oh no, we don't do that. You need to have items in the box and labeled". I explained that I just called within the past half hour and was told to bring things down after I made it very clear what I was doing. And next thing I know this other young girl pops up with a manager name tag and says sir "I don't know who you spoke to but we don't do that here". I had a shopping list of things. #womanowned Local hardware store affiliated with the ACE chain so they have their products. Very well stocked and staff, staff are usually friendly and helpful when I have asked for help finding items/had questions. They have seasonal merchandise as well, for Christmas, Summer/grilling, and outside a garden shop with plants in the spring. There is a certain amount/purchase for delivery I believe--but if you buy a certain amount/example bags of mulch they will deliver them! They have outgoing UPS services, not sure if they accept incoming UPS you should call. #shoplocal read more

I was walking around early this morning (haven't been sleeping, brother passed away last week)and when the hardware store opened I went in with the mindset of getting the things I need to finally complete all my unfinished projects. I was enjoying myself as I went down each isle reminding myself of the things I need ( and a few things I didn't really need). I was in the store for about 2 hours and my Shopping cart was pretty full when one of the employees asked me to leave. He said it was weird that I was walking around outside then spending so much time in the store. He accused me of having no place to go. Even if I didn't have anywhere to go, which I did, I was a paying customer and he had no right to ask me to leave. I went to the checkout counter and regrettably payed for the stuff in my cart . I am In disbelief that I was told I was doing something wrong. I was humiliated. Not only will I never set foot in that store again I will be taking legal action I read more

Woodside Ace Hardware, located seaside in beautiful Winthrop, MA, is as good a hardware store as you can find. They have an amazing array of items, extreemely well organized and extreemely well stocked. They can custom mix paint to match a swatch you bring in, custom order just the right cover for your BBQ grill, they load things into your car, make keys, everything right there without you having to cover acres and acres of space in a cold, big box store. Plus, they are heavily involved in the local community, so EXTRA points awarded here. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

First of all, the staff is completely ready to help. They are responsive, eager and friendly which makes shopping at Ace enjoyable. I needed license plate screws for a car which I didn't know had very small holes. The gentleman helping me found the appropriate size, after walking back and fourth to my car about 4 times and even installed all 4 screws! I really like this store. They have provided me with a ladder at a much price than the big box hardware store offered (with similar specs) and I just got a snow shovel from them when everybody else was sold out. Going to a big box home improvement store can be overwhelming & kind of scary these days. Plus I feel like they don't really cater to someone who is just going for a couple of screws or that little part for a home improvement project. The feeling when you walk into this Ace is more calm & subdued. They greet you at the door & have knowledge well above anyone in one for those orange aprons that I can never find. It is a fact they don't have everything but they have most things. In addition to the friendly staff they offer a rewards card that encourages you to spend your money there in addition to monthly coupons so you can grab a couple of needed items. Their prices are competitive & they will get you back on the road before you know it. This is always the first place I come before getting myself lost in a warehouse of contractor supplies. I recommend giving your local hardware store a try & maybe bigger is not always better. read more

Very customer friendly, prices are average, they load heavy things in care for you, quicker and nicer than large chains. They have a decent stock for being a small local store! Not sure, but I believe that they will order things not stocked if you ask them to. Much better than trying to find the brainless home depot staff to locate something for you, that is if they even know of what widget you speak! read more

Super helpful staff! We were stumped on how to replace our tail light housing, since the screws had corroded and weren't turning at all! But Lauren at ACE came to our rescue, and was so helpful and we couldn't have gotten the job done without her. read more

This place is your typical hardware store with much more than you can imagine inside. The staff has always been very helpful. I like the fact that when i buy mulch they send someone out to load it into my truck. The prices are a bit higher than a home depot or lowes but im sure they dont have the buying power. The only problem i have is that they arent open late enough. They close around six pm so i never have time to pick up stuff after work to work on the house. I have to travel about 5 miles to the Depot when these guys are around the corner. read more
