I was quoted a good price which did increase at the loading time. They did work with me for a price that we both agreed was reasonable, considering this was an interstate move. Gina and Johnny are very responsive and updated the paperwork with every change I provided them. They were very understanding of my situation and I appreciate them sincerely for that. It really is a family business as Johnny, his dad and his wife completed the move. Their trailer is very clean and organized, they're very efficient and good humored. During the unloading, there was a pretty significant mishap, but Johnny immediately took responsibility and we all were appreciative of the way it was handled. All of our things got here mostly intact. There were some minor scratches and dents here and there, but these things happen with moving. The crew (Chris and 1 other gentlemen) arrived within the scheduled window and were finished loading my stuff within an hour. Everything was strapped down correctly and the inventory sheet was amended to add some items I left out on the online questionnaire. Unloading the stuff was just as fast despite heavy rain and only a couple of our items got wet enough to need be dried in the dryer. Definitely a fair price and would use them again in a heartbeat. They called me back said they'd be 30-45 min late. But it was an 1.5 hrs later. I wouldn't have cared if they told me ahead of time that it was going to be that late. Then it took 2 guys, 10 hours to load and unload 800 sq ft 1 bed/1bath/1desk apt. Except they left behind paintings, mirrors, my computer, random containers and items and didn't tell me till they arrived at my new apartment. My one bedroom set, full living room, 1bathroom, and a desk started at 10:30am-9pm. That's with me re-assembling my bed to free up the other guy to go help out his counterpart. My $2,700 Restoration Hardware Custom Upholstered white bed has dirty handprints everywhere. And they left a lot of things behind at the old place to save time- without asking me if that was okay. I really wanted to love the experience since it was highly recommended by a friend but I'm pissed off that I paid $1,000 just to move stuff by myself that they left afterwards. And not counting everything I moved in my own truck to help them finish up faster. Moving with elevators is tricky so they did try the best they could but sometimes you gotta know when you've bitten off more than you can chew. Y'all need to call for help when a 3-4 hr move turns into almost 10 hrs! This is total bull. Not happy. Not recommending them to anyone I know. I'm seriously considering calling up my credit card company to file a dispute. This whole experience was wrong and has made me feel like I got conned. David, who manages the office and books the jobs did a fantastic job staying in contact with us and working with us to ensure the safety of my family as well as his team. The driveway to our complex was up a steep hill and covered in ice. We were able to reschedule for a move on Monday February 22nd with an early start time. Mojo and Emeka called about 15-20 minutes before arriving and took the instructions well to get to our hard to find apartment unit. They took a brief walk around the unit and decided a plan of attack. Then the clock started. While the move took longer than I had originally expected both of these guys worked hard the entire time. No breaks. No milking the clock. The only two breaks they took were once on the way to deliver when they stopped to pick up rehydration beverages, which they asked for permission to do first and did not charge us for, and the second time was when we offered them food and beverages while unloading. There was minimal/no damage to our property when all was said and done. There were a few marks made in the very narrow stairwell, which the owner promptly came out the next day and cleaned up himself. No knicks, divots, or scratches to any of the walls in our old apartment or the brand new built home we moved into. Before I continue I just want to give every customer a heads up, you can safe yourself and your movers a lot of time by prearranging everything before hand. Take apart beds, take apart sectionals, disconnect washers, dryers, and refrigerators. Anything you can do to make their job as simple as picking up the items and moving it into the truck. The prices they offered across the board by companies in Austin was higher than when I managed a moving company in Austin 13 years ago and even with that being said Jackson was the lowest bid I received and not to mention, their phone lines were never busy and communication was very easy. At the end of the day I was very pleased with the service from EVERYONE in the Jackson's Moving organization and will absolutely use them again in the future. So where to start…read more The pictures here speak for themselves. So they only loaded the truck, I drove it across country and on the other side the unloaders could not believe how poorly it was loaded. Something as simple as stacking carboard boxes on top of heavy duty bins was missed. (see photos) They put my $60 target stools upside down so the legs were facing upwards and then put my chairs upholstery side down on those legs... they did this for BOTH of my living room chairs... (see photo) They HAD TRIED to put a mini fridge full on the inside on top of a crate and barrel wooden console with tiny thin legs. I made them NOT do that - much to their chagrin - while they walked all over it inside the truck. They ruined approximately $2000 worth of furniture. All in all - I lost more in damages than the loading even cost, got no help afterwards and I am lucky that I escaped with the damage I had - it could have easily been 2x-3x the amount had I let them stack the fridge on top of the other stuff. Andy really made the process seamless. He has been in constant contact and provided value and guarantee to the move. They worked with me on the pricing and we ultimately locked this move in with them. Their crews were prompt as promised and let me know the progress updates as I had moved prior to them responding to my Texas house to pack up our belongings. We had minimal damage to our belongings and have been in full communication with them to mitigate our concerns. (It was a small bathroom dresser that was not in the best condition prior to them even touching it - was able to fix it and they do bring tools with them in case of this scenario.) What is fantastic is that they are a LOCAL company for the Austin area that goes all across the country. You won't be dealing with a moving broker or a van line that will only give you estimates. In the hour and a half I spent leaving messages and requesting quotes no one returned my call. I finally found House N Box and noticed it was in nearby Hutto. I was greeted by Kevin, who was very friendly and professional. I was so excited to hear a person on the end of the line. He was able to get me booked for the following week. Because I was getting a pod and did not have the delivery time, Kevin scheduled me for between 1-5pm. I got a call a about 1230 and two guys arrived at 230. The guys were great! They carefully wrapped everything up and secured most of my items into the pod. They were there for three hour at $140 an hour. These two young kids even moved a really heavy outdoor fireplace and heavy appliances. Since I moved out of town, I hope I never have to call them up for help again. But I would absolutely recommend them t my friends and family.
