Used this company over the weekend for a relocation movie starting in San Antonio and going up to Austin. I booked them through their online site (20% discount wooo) and spoke with April for the most part. She was courteous and friendly and helped us through this transition. The crew (Chris and 1 other gentlemen) arrived within the scheduled window and were finished loading my stuff within an hour. Everything was strapped down correctly and the inventory sheet was amended to add some items I left out on the online questionnaire. Unloading the stuff was just as fast despite heavy rain and only a couple of our items got wet enough to need be dried in the dryer. Definitely a fair price and would use them again in a heartbeat. 4/6 - UPDATE So I called for a 7th time this past Monday and finally got to speak with the office manager. I'll save you the details of his rude, condescending and abusive dialogue and cut to the chase, HE DEMANDED I TAKE THE REVIEW DOWN, and have confirmation of me doing so, in order to work fairly on my complaints. He would only admit to his guys breaking the glass on my custom framed map from London and stated that if I did not take the review down he would only give me what they are legally obligated to do, which is $0.66/lb according to him. Do you want to work with a company who demands for negative reviews to be taken down? One star reviews are not taken lightly with me, but the performance of this group and their aggressive approach to negative feedback is definitely deserving. read more

I'm actually pretty blown away by the bad reviews on these folks. I really don't have one bad thing to say about my experience with them. I had to change my original move date at the last minute (the day before) and Jim, the guy I talked to on the phone, was so pleasant and understanding about my change. We rescheduled it for a week out and he said they would be there between 12 and 2. My friend and I, around 11:15, decided to go grab some food, thinking they'd probably be there closer to 2 (you know, like most companies do when they give you such a timeframe). They called at 11:26 and said they were on their way and would be there in 20 minutes. When they showed up, they were incredibly fast and within an hour and a half my furniture was across town in my new place. They are the super heroes of moving and I am so happy that I decided to hire movers to ease my mind. There were 3 of them total and each were nice and pleasant and all did a fantastic job. I'll never go back to moving my own stuff again. Ever. read more

M&M did a great job with our condo. John (I think that's his name?) was particularly nice and helpful - asking lots of questions about which items they should be careful with, etc. It wasn't excessive, it was just very clear they were taking their time and making sure they didn't goof anything. They were also very timely and gave me an accurate assessment on the phone of how long it would take. Didn't end up taking any longer than their estimate, and in a few hours we were fulling packed up and on our way to our new house in South Austin! Everything arrived intact and I can honestly say they helped make moving - and experience that I despise and try to avoid at all costs - a little less painful than it usually is. read more

Hmm. So, I realize I'm trying to move with everyone and their grandma this weekend, but still. Based on my phone conversation alone I wouldn't want to use these people. I have a very sparsely furnished duplex that typically takes 2 hours to move and I usually pay around $200 for that. These guys quoted me something like $390 and when I said that I never paid more than $225 for a move he gruffly said, "Well, maybe you should call those people back." Okay. I wish I'd been more Yelp-centric a year and a half ago, maybe I could remember who those people were. They were awesome and moved me in on New Year's Eve on short notice and only charged me $200. I love this moving company. This is the 2nd time that I've used them and I use them for a variety of reasons but mainly because they are super reliable and professional. Before I met M&M, I had a mover flake on me on my moving day and it is something I never want to experience again! The owner is great and will always get back to you quickly. They will also give you a moving estimate that is pretty affordable considering the level of service they provide. They'll call before they get to your place and move your stuff fairly quickly. Had my move scheduled for 19th December (Sunday) for local move within Austin which was confirmed on phone on 13th December. As the move date came closer i expected them to call and confirm (which i consider professionalism especially in this kind of business) but to my surprise i didn't hear back from them and reading some of the reviews here i took for granted that they will just show up as they had confirmed earlier however they never showed up. I waited for about 5 hours. I still don't regret doing it all myself but as a courtesy would expect them to have called ahead for cancellation or called later for not showing up it almost 5 days now and i still have not heard back from them even after all my voice mails on their machine. If y'all want to be kept guessing whether they will show up or not , i highly recommend M&M movers. read more

So the guy on the phone Matt was great, honest, accommodating, personable, but the actual day of moving was not great. There were 3 movers the 2 "workers" & "the boss". The Boss was pushy & rude, but most importantly the price they had printed was about $30 higher than the printed quote i had & that didn't include the extra boxes etc that will inevitably be added cause its hard to account for every single item before the move. Now on top of this i was told there was an extra fee for assemble & disassemble for the beds & that they hadn't brought tools anyway for that, well that was specifically requested multiple times & i was told it would be handled & my price never changed... until the day of, when they arrived & told me it would be an extra $30 bucks... plus they had no tools for it. Well i got my original price (duh i had a printed quote) & the beds assembled & disassembled included, but that was after having to be a total B. I was ready to walk away & say I'm sorry we aren't doing this move, i will hire someone else. I would like to not that the actual "workers" were great but the dude in charge that day was not, i feel bad for someone else who can't put their foot down as i did, i fear they are being taken for a ride by these guys. Also i had an small taste of what was to come i guess when i called one day to speak with Matt, ( i wanted to keep it simple by dealing with one guy) & the guy on the phone said "he's not in" , i said "all day? If you use this company and you wish to only use two movers, you need to be adament about that. I specifically asked for two movers based on price and how much tip I would need to give them. Surprise, they show up with three guys so guess what? I have to now tip three guys and since I lived on the third floor, the tip wasn't going to be cheap. The other problem is they weren't careful with my stuff. I had more broken glass on this move than any other move in my life. read more

There wasn't a single item that was scuffed, broken, or damaged. I've both used moving companies, and moved my own furniture when changing apartments or offices in Austin. Frankly, moving pretty much sucks. Not only does it take longer than you think, most bulky furniture is a pain to move down stairs, fit in elevators, through doorways, etc etc. My experience with MM super moving was excellent. I set up an appointment a few days before my office move, they showed up on time, and got the move done much sooner than expected. Everything was done professionally and safely, large cabinets were secured and taped up, electronic equipment was wrapped up and move safely, and everything was placed where I wanted it in the new office. They even fixed a loose cabinet door that's been bothering me for months! Highly recommended, they're quick, friendly, and awesome for the price. read more

On August 23 2016 I was scheduled for moving. The truck showed up over an hour late to the pick up with no call telling me why. I had to call multiple times requesting an ETA each time i was told 10 minutes or less for that to be a lie. Then after the 1st scheduled pick up I waited at the 2nd pick up location for over 30 minutes. Once there one of the movers told me that they had to drop off someone and get gas which is why they were late. Again I was not told about any of this ahead of time. I arrived at the drop off location and as myself and the moving truck left the 2nd pick up location at the same time. It was curious why they were over 15 minutes late again with NO call to let me know claiming it was traffic when i was on the same highway they were. I called the office the next day to file a complaint and the office manager apologized and said he would put a check in the mail for a partial refund the next day. A week later I did not receive any check. I waited a week then called back and left a message for the office manager to call me back. He either did not receive the message or chose to ignore my request. A month later i called again and left the same message. Some time later i received an email from an April Masters regarding the refund. The letter included a standard form used for if items were damaged with no instructions on how I was suppose to fill it out. I called several times leaving messages before I was finally able to talk to April. She instructed me how to fill out the form. I did and mailed it in only to get another email saying i did not fill out the form correctly. On Feb 8th after months of dealing with the refund situation for 5 months I requested a refund in the full amount. I was informed that the request would be reviewed by the accounting department and it would be determined how much of the the refund i would be given back. I was also told that I would hear a response in 90 days. On May 16th after calling a few times the week before requesting to speak to the office finance manager my call was answered and I was harassed and bullied for 20 minutes by a worker in the office regarding my situation. He told me I was pathetic and begging for a handout. When I asked why this concerned him he said he had nothing better to do that day. After 20 minutes of bulling me he then handed me over to a person whom he said was the owner. I spoke to this owner and expressed to him my request to speak to the office finance manager. He was professional, although I had no way of knowing if this was just the same person who had bullied me using a different voice, and gave me a time to call back to speak to the office finance manager. This whole 8th month issue is an example of the level of customer service they provide. Initially I called to file a complaint against the movers and it was the office manage who brought up the refund. Had this been settled in a timely and professional manner I would have given this business more of a recommendation. However at this time I can not suggest that anyone use this business for your moving needs. UPDATE: after filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I finally received a letter on May 30th informing me that within 7 to 10 days I would receive a partial refund of $100. On June 3rd I did receive the check for $100 So 10 months after my initial complaint they finally closed the case. I would not recommend this company to anybody at any time. They're customer service or lack thereof is the main reason for my lack of a recommendation. read more

We bought some furniture at an auction yesterday. M&M had a table set up there & gave us a very fair price to deliver our items. We were scheduled the very next day (today) between 12-5. The guys called in advance to let us know they were on their way & showed up right in the middle of the scheduled time frame. 3 nice proffesional guys. Quick and efficiant. Professional. Can't tell you how weird it was to watch the movers (huge black dudes, obviously ex-football players) handling my piano with such care and grace. They even had cool stories to tell about moving grand pianos to third story apartments and such. Only complaint is that the office is closed on Saturday afternoons so I couldn't get ahold of anyone to find out if they were on time. Although these guys showed up about 20 minutes late--they were able to load all of my stuff in 30 minutes. They were super careful not to damage anything especially my vintage bedroom set. Also, they were really courteous and nice guys. This place charges per piece of furniture rather than an hourly rate--which I thought was great because I really didn't have THAT MUCH to move. The price ended up being even lower than the guy had quoted me on the phone. Within one hour of them showing up everything was in place at my new apt! I've used M&M two times and both times were great. The movers are very friendly and they stick to what they agree to. Rather than doing hourly, I send them a detailed list of the items I have to move and they give me a quote for what the move will cost based on where I'm moving to as well as how far the truck will be from the residence (also stairs are a factor). They took care of my things when moving them and everything turned up in good condition. They also work quickly and are organized throughout the move. My first experience with M&M was when our (VERY METICULOUS) daughter bought her first home. We contracted M&M to move her possessions from our home as well as a garage full of new (and VERY expensive) items our daughter accumulated in anticipation of moving into her new home. From the very first communication Chris and April were impressive and professional. They ensured that we were fully informed as to what to expect, how items would be prepared, who would be working with us on the move, when they would arrive and approximately how long the process would take. The crew proved to be everything we were promised! They were gentle, professional and very respectful of our daughters belongings and wishes for unpacking and placement of her possessions (did I mention that she is VERY METICULOUS?)! Since this first encounter we have repeatedly used M&M for both personal and business moves and in every case our experience has been the same; polite, professional and reasonably priced. 8/31/12 It's been almost one full year and I am still without furniture that I payed M&M to move. Travis County Small Claims Court backed me up, having read my take on the evidence they are moving forward with my court claim against M&M. June 2012 I just filed a claim against M&M in court. I paid M&M for an 18 month storage unit, then hired movers from their company to unload my stored furniture onto a hired truck (asked them for a moving quote from Austin to the East Coast but it was way too expensive, so I hired someone else) . This was a simple transaction - I stored my furniture at M&M for 18 months, I paid their employees to load everything from my storage unit onto a moving truck. Inexplicably, when my delivery arrived at my new address, four large pieces of furniture were missing. This happened in October 2011, and my missing furniture still hasn't been delivered. M&M admitted their mistake, made promises to fix the situation and refunded my delivery money. Seven months later, my missing furniture has not been returned. I call on a weekly basis to get an update. When either of the owners Chris or April choose to call back -- which is infrequently -- they give excuses and claim that they are attempting to find the best solution. So not my preference - I was really happy with my early dealings with M&M - but I've taken them to small claims court. And I'm disappointed it came to this - I'm a big fan of locally owned Austin businesses and chose this one for that reason. My bottom line about the management of this company - highly unprofessional. read more

The team assigned to my home move, led by Buck, left two car loads of stuff at my old apartment, including an antique typewriter that I can just barely pick up. I could have had them complete my move the next day but I was so disgusted with the service that I didn't want to see them again. I feel like a complete idiot because I tipped these guys well. I was unable to fully supervise my move because I did not move with anyone and I had to get to my new apartment to get my keys. I thought I was doing the movers a favor since if I waited until they were finished at my old apartment, it would have taken between 30 to 60 minutes for me to finish the paperwork required prior to moving in. Since I didn't know how much stuff was left at the old place, I stupidly tipped the movers really well. Here's some advice: #1 don't use M&M; #2, if you use this company, mail a tip to the drivers only after you've evaluated the entire move. I'm still waiting to hear back from a manager from M&M. This is my third move with M &M Super Movers. They have a wonderful online quote system and are very speedy with their replies. I put my preferred method of contact to be via email and they didnt disregard that and never called to bother me once! Brandon was very speedy and thorough in his emails and sent me an updated quote. Their web page gives you a special discount and my actual price was 50 bucks less than the estimated quote you can get online before you send it in "officially" because of the online discount. These guys were very very speedy and did all the hard work for me to a third floor apartment and were very accommodating about where I wanted the furniture to go. Some of my stuff was a little heavy and they just huffed and puffed through it. I didnt even hear one bang on the stair well as they came up. Word of advice just to be nice to movers: spread the heavy books around in your boxes lol. I had a few boxes with all the cookbooks in them and they were pretty heavy. They were in and out in just a few hours and didnt even track dirt on my fresh carpet. I really love this company. read more

I hired M&M to move from San Antonio to Dallas. Initially I was super impressed with their service. The quote was easy, all my questions were answered and the front end of the move was fantastic. They arrived on time, were professional and very experienced in packing and doing their jobs. I felt confident and extremely relieved that I was in good hands. Conversely, the back end of the move was not that great. I did not feel well taken care of when they arrived to drop off my stuff. They were extremely worn out from another move, and it was clear early on that day their objective was to get my belongings off their truck so they could get back to Austin. Some of it didn't even make it into my actual apartment and was left in the hall. I spent time rearranging pictures and boxes in the way they should have so that everything was sacked safely in a way that I could move around it. I spent the coming days finding small scratches on my new furniture and loose legs on furniture they reassembled. Things now wobble that previously did not because the little tabs on the bottoms of the legs of stuff had been knocked off. I spent a considerable amount of money on wardrobe boxes and they ended up being stacked on top of each other when they executed the other move during the two days I was getting from point A to point B. I was told I was the only one on the truck when they arrived to pick up my move, which ended up being only part of the story. I was the only one on the truck on that day. My advice would be to tip at the end of the move. I asked one of the guys, giving them the benefit of the doubt, how they preferred to be tipped and what the etiquette was for that. I gave them their individual tips before drop off at the end of pick up and doubled what he stated was a "good tip" for each of the two movers. Seems this may have de-incentivised them to perform any further. It really comes down to lost respect for a company that I started out thinking very highly of. I simply respect people who give 100% to the end. Unfortunately that was not my experience here though they were excellent in the beginning. read more

"uhhh sorry man, nothing we can do..." these guys are terrible...damaged several pieces of pretty expensive furniture (ie. denting and scratching wood) by using an UN-PADDED dolly to move things down stairs. Ridiculous. And when I pointed this out, well, please refer to the above quote. An offer to "fix" them, using a sharpie marker was made. But you can't fix deep dents in wood with a sharpie, which never should have happened in the first place. Even a partial refund was out-right refused. Other than that, I found them pretty unprofessional overall, and clearly unskilled. They were nice, however, that is until I pointed out the damage they ca. I'm so excited to use a 5-star rated mover on here next time...shoulda checked yelp! Ps. I used M&M to move a couple weeks ago, and I was really happy with the service I received. I got a bunch of quotes and theirs was very reasonable. The people on the phone were helpful, courteous and knowledgeable when I set up the move, and they were able to arrange a Sunday morning move on pretty short notice, less than a week. The movers were a little bit late to show up, like 30 or 45 minutes, but they gave me a phone call to let me know they were running behind, so I didn't mind. It actually gave me a chance to run out and do a last minute errand. When the guys got here, they were efficient, professional and courteous. I felt like they weren't rough with my possessions. And I felt like they went a little bit above and beyond -- they did things for me like disassemble and reassemble my bed, put my child's bed rail on his bed (it's really kind of a pain to get it on there) and best of all, they just did it, I didn't have to ask them. I definitely gave them a good tip. I hate moving with a passion and I hope I don't have to do it again for a while, but M&M definitely made it a lot less painful that it would have been otherwise, and I would use them again in the future. read more

Don't use these guys. Old owners were great. New owner will not call me back to discuss the possible theft of my expensive sunglasses, various food items, broken furniture and many problems with the move. I have called 4 times and guaranteed that someone will call me back. No phone call. Here is an example of the problems that we had. The movers made me tip them to move something that was on the list out a different door. I had no choice. I needed it moved. They took apart my desks and fixtures and let the screws fall to the ground and not pick them up. Luckily I saw it and found most of the screws. They also did not put anything back together. It was part of the bid. They took a couple of Costco boxes of chips and granola bars. I have a picture of their truck and my chips. Unbelievable!!! The people in the. Office just said that they are independent contractors and I should file a report with the police. Never did they say sorry for your experience. read more

Wow! They gave me a great quote and stuck to it, even though I added a fair amount of items at the last minute. Actually, Timmy pointed out things to move I hadn't even considered, like the petrified wood boulder in the front yard. They moved my piano so gently it didn't have to be retuned. It couldnt fit into the new room and had to be turned on its side to get it and it still didnt need to be retuned. I also have a really old cruddy plywood desk that is about to fall apart and they managed to not do any damage to it. Just a great experience. Highly recommend these guys. read more

I need to amend my review of M&M Super Movers. After 3 months and lots of emails threats and phone calls, the company finally replaced my broken glass table top. Thank you Chris for standing by your word. The guys that came out to replace the glass were the same ones that moved me originally and i must say that those guys are a real asset to the company. I'm giving these a "so-so" review because the movers themselves were quite good, but the company did a really bad job estimating my move. When the movers arrived (who are subcontractors), they told me there was no inclusion on my estimate for any of my boxes which they estimated to be about 100. They told me the my move was double the price I was quoted. I ended up settling with them, but I will never move with this company again. A shame because, as I said, the guys who did the move were actually great. Although, I am missing some items, so there's that too. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review. My experience was insanely bad, I had to create an account, just to write this review. I am seeing a lot of good reviews about this company. I wish I had a good experience too. I hired them to move my stuff from one apartment to another. They arrived on time, moved everything quickly, and everything in good shape. However, after they left, I realized that my Sony Bluray player was missing. I immediately contacted them. It took me 3 calls to get to speak with someone, they didn't respond to my voicemails. The person I spoke to (Manager I believe), sent me an email with attachment and asked me to return with all the details. It has been more than two months from the incident and still no reply from the company. They don't seem to care what-so-ever. If this was a missing item, they would atleast tell me that they could not find it. My initial experience was good, now I started to believe that they took my stuff on purpose, and talk to me unprofessionally. I would never ever hire them again. Looks like I am not alone here. People who left good reviews - I guess, either they were lucky, or they never realized that something was missing. My learning - In future if I have to hire someone for moving - I will mark all my boxes and number them to verify if all of them arrived, and count everything before and after. I would also check their truck to see if they intentionally did not leave anything in the truck. read more
