We went through the Thumbtack app and found 1source moving and they were the most responsive of all the moving companies. Our move was from Austin, TX to the Albany area of New York State. Andy really made the process seamless. He has been in constant contact and provided value and guarantee to the move. They worked with me on the pricing and we ultimately locked this move in with them. Their crews were prompt as promised and let me know the progress updates as I had moved prior to them responding to my Texas house to pack up our belongings. We had minimal damage to our belongings and have been in full communication with them to mitigate our concerns. (It was a small bathroom dresser that was not in the best condition prior to them even touching it - was able to fix it and they do bring tools with them in case of this scenario.) What is fantastic is that they are a LOCAL company for the Austin area that goes all across the country. You won't be dealing with a moving broker or a van line that will only give you estimates. Do NOT be fooled!!!! ANYONE can take 15 photos of carefully staged moving photos to set customers' expectations to see value, timely, great quality and care. THIS IS NOT THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL RECEIVE! Please expect all of your furniture, office, children's, bedroom, kitchen, patio or other furniture to be DESTROYED. I'd like to summarize the experience with moving out and moving in, using 1SourceMoving as, " you get what you pay for". I can't even say it was that bad. It I was Far WORSE! Everything that we did not carry in our personal vehicles was damaged. Our beautiful home we had buyers for, was damaged; walls in almost every room had scratches, dents, chunks of drywall taken out, and paint transfer or scratches from our furniture on them. Light fixtures shattered. How do you deliver a dinning room table with 3legs!? My white new autonomous desk (self rising and lowering) was thrown in the moving truck on its side, with NO COVERING, and slide along bed of the truck! There was no blanket on top, and they tried to throw a basketball goal on top of it! I happened to be walking by and stopped them. It's still destroyed. They yanked the wires out and broke pins out of it. The sofas were not covered and outdoor patio furniture and grills were thrown on top of the sofas! The furniture was drug along banisters, down the stairs and dumped on the front lawn for hours. And how do you manage to scratch and damage the concrete walkway in front of my home??? Was it by dragging the very furniture that was destroyed!? And the brand new home we purchased, where the furniture was delivered, was left damaged as well. Only scratches and chunks of drywall missing. But the furniture is so ragged and barely standing that we now HAVE TO REPLACE 90% of the furniture in our home now!!!!! They showed up hours late. Complained, fought among each other, and acted as if it was our fault that they came late and had other jobs to do after ours! Terrible customer experience. What do you get for all of this. Excuses and a 10% discount. No one answers the phone after you've paid them!!! No claim forms. No explanations no anything. We feel to robbed of our $3000+. This group is great. After my original movers didn't show, I called Andy and he was very very helpful. He call out to his guys and the two Men that came on the July17th were awesome. Not only did they move me but they did it in the heat after they had already move someone else. I am very Thankful that Andy could help me out. Hey Ya'll...So I found these guys on ThumbTack because I needed movers to load the truck I rented. Response time was quick, summer time is a busy season around Austin. I was thankful to get them. I really liked their reviews I found on ThumbTack. I received a call from Andy before his guys came out to just let me know. I had two guys come out and they arrived early :) We started at my two smaller storage units and that was accomplished pretty fast. There was a lot that I didn't want so they put it back into my storage unit for me. The larger one took a little bit longer but at least there was some A/C in that building. Only leaving 1 Star because you cannot go any lower. We moved in June of this year and had the worst experience with this company. We had damages after damages to furniture, walls and beds. The owner of the company is full of empty promises and never delivers. The workers took 4-5 breaks in between moving furniture but i was charged for it. The whole move process was drawn out purposefully and deliberate to get that hourly charge. I asked for a discount on the moving fees to compensate for the damages which totaled to be over two thousand dollars. Which i never received. My suggestion is to on use this company. But if you do only pay after you have thoroughly inspected every single item for damages. read more

Moving is a difficult thing, let alone across the country. I've moved many times in my life. I even used Mayflower, top of the line pack and move, to move my mother from Manhattan to Texas. She had a 4 BR, pre-war apartment she had lived in for 42 years. She owned a grand piano. So, when I say these guys are top-of-the-line logisticians (movers) I know what I'm talking about. Andy, the owner /operator, is nothing short of a miracle worker, and a straight-shooter, he dislodged my brother-in-Law from his 30+ year home, in upstate NY, packed to the brim. It was a total pack-and-move. Andy was fast, frank and very fair. He even had to fly one of his guys out there, with no notice, because we failed to provide him proper photos. He kept a positive, upbeat attitude throughout the entire thing, hitches and all. He is capable, charismatic and I highly recommend his company, 1Source Movers. This company came highly recommended. They were friendly and accommodating. I scheduled my move for a 1pm start time. It was never discussed that this was more of a time frame and not an actually start time. I take off work and make sure I'm at my apt before movers arrive at 1. No one shows. I have to call them to ensure they are on the way. I was told my movers are at the first move (which is taking more time than anticipated) and they will head to me after. Andy confirms with me that they will be there that day. I wait and wait. I call again at 3:30 and Andy says the team is still working but again confirms. By 5:30, Andy tells me they will come regardless of time just for my moving team to call and say they can't come because they are tired. Which is understandable. What is frustrating is I needed to move, I was told 1 and I waited ALL day just to be told one thing and then for nothing to happen. This was ridiculous. Communication was very poor. These reviews are all true...I had a deep queen mattress to ship from California to Texas, and every LTL trucking company either charged an arm and a leg, had horrible almost nightmare reviews on yelp and BBB, or didnt give me the warm and fuzzy feeling about insurance coverage. Then I came across Andy with 1Source Moving, and all the stress went out the door. I submitted a quote request from the website, and immediately got a call. When I answered I got a big welcoming call out of my name, as if I was talking to a high school buddy. Andy let me know the team was here in LA doing a job, and if I could have the mattress picked up same day they would be able to get it delivered in under 5 days! (He didnt waste time going back and forth in email, because logistically he saw an opportunity with the crew being here that benefitted my needs!) So we worked out the details over the phone, Andy explained how the shipment would go, potential stops for the crew, and how payment is invoiced. He also informed me of their insurance coverage and that I wouldnt need to purchase any seperate insurance, which was perfect for me (as I didnt have to worry about under insuring my property)! The crew was super professional, friendly and efficient. They called ahead of time tonlet me know when they should be to my house, and again when they were on their way to my house. When they arrived I received a 3rd phone call, as I have a please don't knock sign due to my sleeping newborn and barking dogs. That was the icing on the cake for me, as they didn't have to take that extra step with courtesy. The mattress was packed up on the trailer, and they made sure during the trip it would be laid down to prevent sagging or damage, and I signed the simple documentation to indicate the property value and they were off! Andy kept in touch over the 5 days at appropriate observations to make sure the pick up went well, to confirm the safe arrival of the mattress in Austin, and schedule a delivery timeframe that works for my mom (who was on the receiving end). The crew arrived to my mom's early, and gave a call to let me knownthey were there and would be waiting for her arrival based on our previous convos. My mom shared the sentiment of their professionalism and even felt the need to cash tip them (Andy's invoicing has a convenient in app tipping, in case you dont carry cash like me). All in all, they deserve more than 5 stars. This company and it's owner/crew are truly a class above the rest, witha southern hospitality cherry on top. I absolutely do NOT recommend this company. I scheduled a move from Round Rock to South Austin on 1/23/19. The reasons are as follows * Scheduled time was at 10am - they showed up at 11:30. * Driver sent text that he was running late and would be at my residence in 1/2 hour. * Notified Andy (owner) regarding no show/no call. He did call back and was going to contact his drivers. Took $50 off the bill. * I explained to only move the boxes and totes, leave everything else there as I needed to clean the apartment. * They dropped my couch off the lift at my new residence (no damage done) * The brought everything to the house, even my vacuum and steam cleaning machine. I specifically told them not too. * They could not fit my couch in a specific room we needed it in. My roommate used a different moving company and they moved the couch in the room just fine. * I checked my bed frame before they put the box spring down and some of the screws were missing. * The worst was, I have a new TV that I purchased ($1200) 8 months ago and yep....they broke it. Something ended up poking the center and the pixels were all ruined. * Contacted Andy and his response was, please send pictures, which I did. * He contacted his mover Ozzie and he stated the tv was always wrapped and upright. Something in the truck obviously poked the screen. * I have a email thread from Andy stating he will replace the tv with a new or similar item......still waiting....calls and voice mails have gone unanswered to this day. I did tell Ozzie before he left that I really could not give them a good review from everything that happened. The two boys did work hard. Too bad the owner did not follow up or contact his team to see how everything was going. Then, I went to the apartment with items back in my car to clean....went into my refrigerator and guess what....yes they drank my coke and Gatorade...proof was in my trash can on top. Very unprofessional. The owner, Andy, does not do business in good faith. Andy, assured me that he would compensate or replace a $250 desk that his team broke. I followed up multiple times and he simply just stopped responding. Other issues with move: 1) Movers PUT A HOLE in my wall, to which Andy responded "that's a simple patch job." Multiple scratches on wall of brand new home 2) Movers didn't cover furniture properly so most of it got scratched and/or came back with dirt and other marks The movers themselves were very gracious and owned up to their errors, Andy however is full of empty assurances. He will promise to take care of you and your stuff and from my experience it was all BS. Between the repairs and replacements, i ended up paying double (almost triple) the fee. Save yourself the time, stress and money and go with a more reputable, honest company. read more

I had written a review in June when they handled my move to an apartment 15 minutes away from my current apartment. I wrongly took down my review when the president Andy said he would refund some of my costs, which he never did even though I reminded him numerous times. Note that the mover I used just 2 years prior, All in the Family, was awesome, using only 2 guys and done in 4.5 hours for a cost of $375. This move with 1 source cost me almost $800.00. Not only did they arrive 3 hours late, but the guy who was apparently the lead, took long breaks every 45 minutes. I bought the head guy lunch but the other guy declined and had brought food with him. When the truck was loaded and we headed to the new place together, I was at the new place for 30 minutes before they arrived. I was paying for the exorbitant number of breaks and the missing 30 minutes (they said they got lost). They damaged so many of my belongings, including a 55" TV, of which they broke the screen. They not only dented my dryer but the head guy ripped the power cord off of the washing machine and never said anything about it. 7 hours later, at 10:00 pm they said it was late and they would come back the following day to finish and assemble my bed. When I walked outside I noticed that the head guy had emptied his trash in the parking lot next to the truck even though there was a dumpster 20 feet away. I had to assemble the couch and other items that they did not. The next night, after he had assembled the bed earlier in the day, my bed collapsed!. He had assembled it wrong and so some of the bolts bent, as did other parts of the frame. I ended up assembling the bed correctly but had to have their guy bring and replace some bolts. The frame is black with black bolts but he used silver bolts and after he left I noticed that he did not tighten the bolts so I did it. I paid $700 to replace my TV but never received any refund for this horrible move. Use this company at the risk of your belongings. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am a veteran so I have been through quite a few bad moves but this company, which was not a military lowest bid situation, was one of the worst experiences ever. Not only did one of the mover's insult us by being overheard complaining about us being hoarders, which I assure you we are not, but only 1 of the whole group acted like they were actually taking care of our stuff. If they could find a way to bend, scratch or break it, they did. Our previous house was damaged enough that there were financial implications that occurred after closing. There were several promises to go and make repairs. Honestly if even half of that had come true I might have been more hesitant about writing this review. We have almost unpacked all of our stuff now and there are expensive tools missing and with half the crew just leaving in the middle of the job there is no telling who took what. On top of all the other craziness my whole family had to help monitor as they were taking things apart because they would simply drop screws and brackets on the ground and not come back for them. We still have things we can't fully put back together because of all the miscellaneous hardware that my family members picked up after things were packed on the truck. It was several (almost 12) grueling hours of trying to get them to do things right and not damage the house or the furniture and we still did not succeed on any of those accounts, they outnumbered us. They pulled cabinets off the walls that were not supposed to be removed because we were not watching that room as an example. An expensive TV was messed up, a super expensive kitchen table was scratched bad enough that it needs to be completely restored, and expensive king size headboard and frames wont go back together correctly now. They crushed several boxes by stacking them incorrectly and the contents were either damaged or destroyed. This is just a few of things but the amount of damage they did far exceeded the cost of the move. DON'T use them unless you are prepared to replace a lot of your stuff. Do not pay them until you have confirmed all your stuff is there, put together, not damaged and working. I really thought the owner was an honorable man but he has proved me a bad judge of character. Several weeks later and we are still working on the repairs to things damaged in this move and there was never an offer to compensate us for losses. They want to see if they can repair it and then never get back to you. read more

We waited until the last minute to book movers for our move. We got lucky because 1Souce Moving had exactly one spot available which worked out great! I had a great experience with them. All our stuff was promptly packed, and ready to go within 6 hours. There were some snafus like stuff not getting picked up from the house, but the owners came by themselves to fix it, their proactive approach was greatly appreciated. The only reason why this is not five stars is because of mislabeled or unlabeled boxes, which I believe the business is already working on.
