If I could give this company, zero stars, I would. I am a seasoned mover and this is the absolute worst moving company I have ever hired. They did not wrap any of my furniture with moving blankets. Just plastic wrap. Three of my pieces were damaged as a result. I called the office multiple times and at first they said that they would either replace the pieces or refer me to a furniture repair company. I received a quote from the furniture repair company they referred me to for $650. I sent the quote to the company and they said that they would only pay half. They dodge my calls, refused to respond to me, and I'm now left with furniture that is broken because of their carelessness and inexperience. Do not trust this company at all. They are the absolute worst! I am now planning to sue them in small claims court. read more

Michael and his team are incredible and extremely friendly. They showed up quickly, were respectful, and took the time to wrap/ secure all of my furniture. We were moving from Austin to San Antonio and I was surprised how quickly they go everything done. Einstein movers charged us almost double a few days before the move by adding an additional person. They were allowed to do that because they did not provide us with a contract. Michael quoted us right away, generated a contract, both of us signed, and his team was able to move our apartment completely on such short notice. We arrived to San Antonio and not a single thing was broken, they installed all of our furniture, and even took apart our door to make sure our refrigerator fit. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Michael and his team are beyond amazing. We had hired another moving company and they cancelled at the last minute. I was scrambling and getting quotes that were WAY out of my price range. I found Local Lifters and they were so kind and understanding from beginning to (almost) end. I only say "almost" because they are finishing up now! they even came early(I wasn't quite ready) and they WAITED! My kiddo wasn't completely finished packing(because 16 year old) and they didn't even flinch! The customer service is just so beyond anything I have experienced in a long while. They took a horrible, stressful situation and put my mind at ease AND they were completely reasonable price-wise and up front. I'll be happy to update my review once I get compensated for the broken leg of my dresser and the scuffed furniture that occurred because they didn't use furniture blankets in the truck. The price was fair, but between the 30 minute break the guys took and the fact that if I hadn't been the "3rd mover" there's no way they would've finished in 2 hours, I'm less than impressed. Also, one of the movers was on his phone nearly the entire time. Probably would've been more efficient if he'd put it down. I will say that Nate was very responsive and easy to reach via text and phone. He was quick to say that they would compensate or fix the broken leg of the dresser once it was removed from my storage unit. Not sure what they'll do about the scuffed furniture. ACTUALLY, if you read my estimate (as I just reread it) it says the move will not cost more than $350.00-$425.00 and I was told on the phone no more than $250 considering it was 1 queen size bed, 1 dresser and 9 boxes. "mrs. owner" so not sure how I got charged $675.00? That should not be on me for the lack efficiency in ur moving staff bc they needed "smoke breaks" . So before you come and try to make me look bad maybe check your staff and how many times I did email you/ call you and never got a response until I came to social media. Pretty much every single item I got moved was damaged and got no answer on the subject/ still is not fixed until I posted about it on yelp. Do better. read more

I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with this company and I would NOt, repeat - NOT - recommend them. Here's why: I needed someone to move a large dresser up my stairs; that's all. A friend and myself had moved the dresser to the first landing and were unable to get it to the top. It was blocking the stairs and posed more of an emergent need than normal. Nate called almost immediately and listened to my needs. He was receptive to my dilemma and agreed to come himself with another man and move the dresser at noon. I would be charged a flat $100, which is comparable to an hour's labor fee. I was elated, relieved and thankful! 12:30 rolled around, no call/text or word. I sent a quick text, "Hi Nate... just checking to make sure you a re still able to make it today." ....crickets.... At 1:05, my still hopeful spirit began to shift and I suspected I was being stood up. I sent another text: "So sorry, not trying to be a pain, just trying to confirm that we are still on for today. If a later afternoon time works better, that is fine also. I know it's a buys time of year os if plans have changed and you are not able to do the job today, could you please let me know so I can make other arrangements? Thank you so much." It's been two days and I never even received the courtesy of a return text or phone call. They just simply NEVER SHOWED. I believe in supporting businesses that are dependable and have integrity and this isn't one of them. Moves are stressful and important events. I wouldn't put my faith in this company. read more

When we made the reservation with local lifters, they were professional, friendly and helpful. We made it clear the apartment we were moving out of had a parking garage and they would need to park out on the street and would not be able to park close to the apartment. They agreed and booked us for a Monday at 9:00am. On the day of the move, we received a call at 8:20 saying the movers were on their way. When they had not arrived an hour and 40 minutes later, I called for a update and they told me their ETA was 15-20 minutes. An hour later they still hadn't arrived so I called again and was told they were 10 minutes out. When the moving crew finally arrived, I showed them the apartment and 3 separate parking options. The crew were very upset at the location of the apartment, and yelled at my roommates and I that the move was undoable. They walked around the apartment building with us, all while complaining that the move was not doable, and telling us we were at fault for not warning them/ scheduling a walkthrough. They continued to yell at us for the parking situation, the amount of items we had, and the fact that the truck would not fit in the garage. We told them we gave the office all of the information and were told they had worked at this complex before and that it would not be a problem. The crew manager tried to call the office staff to try to work out a solution and they were yelled at and then hung up on. The crew let us know they were going to try to try to move the truck to see if they could park in a different spot, got in the truck and drove away. We rented a Uhaul and ended up doing the move ourselves. Do not waste your money here- the office staff is friendly, but the communication between them and the moving crew is so poor you may be stuck without movers day of! read more

Local Lifters helped me move my things into storage a year ago. When I opened the unit multiple items were missing from the move including my TV, alarms, cameras, tools, etc. After speaking with the company they said there is nothing they can do since it had been a year since the move. I am now out over $1K worth of items and they are claiming there is nothing that can be done (even with the notices in the contract). Wouldn't recommend this company for moving unless you want things to go missing. read more

Movers didn't have the tools to keep furniture safe , ended up using tape to keep a drawer from opening causing damage in the piece. Customer service after that incident unresponsive and unprofessional. I would not use them again. read more

Awesome experience! They were very fast, even at the end of a hot summer day, and they do not have a 2 hour minimum like most companies, so an awesome option for folks on a budget. They were very careful with my stuff, even managing to keep a very cheap and old bookshelf intact, which was seriously impressive. The team was late getting to me, which is just par for the course sometimes when you're the last move of the day. Even so, they communicated proactively and gave me a significant discount on my already inexpensive move, so only praise here! read more
