First of all Taylor and Lee were amazing movers. They worked well as a team, were upbeat, and handled my property with care. They never approached a situation with a "I don't think this will work" mentality. I am so thankful for them. It looks like a couple of days ago another reviewer didn't get a confirmation call. I did get one 45 minutes before the move. I got a call back letting me know that a man had called in and they were getting in a back up. So, good communication on their part. As far as pricing goes, I did a lot of shopping around and Big Easy's was the BEST deal in town (out of nine companies I got in touch with and even more that I passed up right away due to price). I'm not very happy with the way things went down with the move but the guys were very nice and tried their best. First, nobody called to confirm my appt. so I called at 8am but no answer. They called me back said they'd be 30-45 min late. But it was an 1.5 hrs later. I wouldn't have cared if they told me ahead of time that it was going to be that late. Then it took 2 guys, 10 hours to load and unload 800 sq ft 1 bed/1bath/1desk apt. Except they left behind paintings, mirrors, my computer, random containers and items and didn't tell me till they arrived at my new apartment. My one bedroom set, full living room, 1bathroom, and a desk started at 10:30am-9pm. That's with me re-assembling my bed to free up the other guy to go help out his counterpart. My $2,700 Restoration Hardware Custom Upholstered white bed has dirty handprints everywhere. And they left a lot of things behind at the old place to save time- without asking me if that was okay. I really wanted to love the experience since it was highly recommended by a friend but I'm pissed off that I paid $1,000 just to move stuff by myself that they left afterwards. And not counting everything I moved in my own truck to help them finish up faster. Moving with elevators is tricky so they did try the best they could but sometimes you gotta know when you've bitten off more than you can chew. Y'all need to call for help when a 3-4 hr move turns into almost 10 hrs! This is total bull. Not happy. Not recommending them to anyone I know. I'm seriously considering calling up my credit card company to file a dispute. This whole experience was wrong and has made me feel like I got conned. They broke my grandmothers antique table, put a hole in the wall of my brand new home, were an hour late and only sent one guy for first thirty minutes. So I was moving back to Austin from Dallas, I called so many moving company to get a quote. After search after search, I don't know why I didn't think of contacting Nick from Big Easy's Moving. I called Nick & explained that I am a returning customer. Nick remembered me & arranged my moving from Dallas to Austin. I was very happy with them when they moved me the first time & I knew they won't let me down. Bottom line, I told Nick "I love you guys!". There were few snags here & there but Nick communicated with me very well and most of all he ensured me he will take care of my moving. Mike & Ryan showed on 9 am on Sunday & moved all my stuff to Austin by 3pm. Since traffic was bad, I expected them showing up around 5pm. I can praise them enough how great they are. I took some photos when they removed an old giant TV from 3rd floor to ground level. They packed & gentle with my furniture. Since I have been moving just about once in a year, I learned good movers are like a best friend. You don't have to constant in contact but when you call cause you need a help, they are right there for you. These guys have saved my LIFE on multiple occasions! First, when another moving company straight up didn't show up for our scheduled move out date, my lease was up, and I was contractually obligated to vacate the premises in 24 hours, I was - for lack of a better term - screwed. Fortunately, a friend of mine recommended these guys to me and they saved the day. I called them and they were able to schedule a move for LITERALLY the next morning - as in less that 12 hours from my phone call. That type of offer is practically unheard of. Not only were they speedy in their turnaround, but AWESOME in the execution of their work. I am paranoid about a lot of my items - some being family heirlooms - but they treated each item as if it were a priceless work of art, carefully wrapping, stacking, etc. to avoid shifts in weight or damages to the items in the least bit. Not only do the movers complete their work at an exceptional pace and with outstanding care, but they're also just a bunch of nice guys. Most are current students or recent graduates from the University of Texas (hook 'em) and are very friendly and conversational. I used them again to move my things from Austin to Oklahoma City when I had work opportunities there and they did a phenomenal job. They unloaded my storage unit, pit-stopped in my hometown of Longview, Texas, to drop off unwanted extra furniture and to pick up a few things, then made the trek to Oklahoma City and were an hour ahead of schedule - ALL in the same day! Yet again they surpassed any and all of my expectations without a single piece of furniture scuffed in the slightest. Not to mention, for such high quality care, the company offers VERY competitive rates for moves! I am now getting ready for yet another relocation from Austin back to Longview (being a small business owner lends itself to frequent travel) and I couldn't possibly imagine utilizing ANY other moving service in the greater Austin area. I just had the move from hell, downsizing from a huge place to a small apartment. There's a separation/divorce in the mix and small kids--I've been dreading this change. Well, after another company just didn't even show up when they were supposed to, Bryce answered his phone on a Sunday and booked me for later in the week. (I had flexibility) I had to do the move in stages. They got crap out of my house three times. 3. THREE different trips. Stuff had to go to multiple locations, and nobody blinked an eye at the complicated logistics. I must say that one guy was on the crew each time. Kevin was so easy going, so hard working, so funny, he actually put me at ease through a very stressful time. By the third visit, he's now on my Christmas card list. The 4th time they helped me was when I had to move all my stuff from storage on site at the apartment to the actual residence. Kevin and Tyler were enthusiastic and friendly even in the heat. Did I mention how much I was dreading all this? By the end of the day, Tyler was on my Xmas card list too. They were on time, cautious with my stuff, and thoughtful in how it was packed into storage. But for me, I had a complicated and sort of tense situation. These guys were just the best. I will say that they're probably not the cheapest, probably not the most expensive. But their pricing was competitive with the dudes who didn't show up--and Big Easys really did make my annoying, never ending, logistically complicated, emotionally charged move bette than I could have imagined it to be. DOOOO NOT !!!!! I REPEAT DO NOOOOOOTTTT USE THIS COMPANY. I never typically write reviews. Mostly because it's not worth the fight if I'm not satisfied. Sometimes people have a bad day or restaurants are off, but this company deserves all the bad reviews it gets and apparently now looking into this further has. I called a week before my move, which btw was set up on the same day I had to be out of my old apartment. I explained this to him with the thought of him fully understanding my importance of needing this to be done. We set up a 10 am pick up time , and with being it was a simple move of a one bedroom on the first floor to a duplex less than 1 mile away. The day before my move there was no call to confirm, and then the best part ....... The day of my move THEY NEVER SHOWED UP !!!! I thought at first they were just running late when it was 1045 and they were supposed to be here at 10. When 11 o'clock rolled around I finally decided to give them a call to which they did not answer. Another 30 minutes went by and I called again. Again no answer. At this point in time I was really starting to worry because I did not know how I was going to find a company that same day to move me out of my place so that I could handover my keys that same day to my apartment complex. I also I'm a personal trainer who was and had plans to train my clients later on that day. Thinking that this would be a simple move and that they would not screw me over the way they did. I called again at 12 o'clock and probably about three more times after that. Along with friends of mine who to whom I gave their number two. Again no answer, with a final last call I was immediately sent to voicemail. THEY KNEW I WAS CALLING AND THAT THEY SCREWED UP. Or maybe they just weren't getting a big enough check for me so decided to go and take on another job while leaving me hanging. Either way they knew that they were ignoring me and couldn't even give me the decency of letting me know that they were not showing up. I had to then spend the next hour and a half calling every moving company only to be turned down because of being so busy. When I finally found a company I had to pay almost double the price because of it being a rushed process. I could go on and on about this company but I feel they don't deserve any more of my time. If you are someone considering this place I beg you not to give them any of your time, effort, worry, and especially money. It is absolutely disgusting to treat a client this way. You could've at least called and said you were not going to take this job. Thank you for making my move the most stressful move I've ever had in my entire life. I have moved seven times in the last seven years and you have made this experience the worst I've ever had. So Nick if you are reading this you do not deserve any profit and I really truly hope that this company goes under. I was contracted to make repairs on some furniture damaged by Big Easy's Moving. The repairs were made to the 100% satisfaction of the client (the homeowner). Four months later, they have still not paid for these repairs. Each month I am given an apology, an excuse and a promise of payment by the owner Nick. All attempts at communication are now being ignored. I contacted the client and he's confirmed his satisfaction along with his supreme disappointment in the moving company. Aside from knowing that they nearly ruined an executive desk, I cannot speak to their moving abilities. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! I have used this company for a previous move, and they did great work, which is why I chose to use them again. This time did not go well from the beginning. I received no confirmation call for the service scheduled the following day. The day of I called when the guys were 30 minutes late, and the... manager at the time gave me excuse after excuse and then proceeded to berate me because I was upset they were falling outside of their window of time I made the reservation for. What is the point of making a reservation? After which, I had appointments to get to. The guys arrived and were apologetic; however, when loading my brand new dresser purchased in May from ****** furniture, they broke off a supporting piece to the leg and made no big deal about it! Upon arriving to the new place, they unloaded the truck, and tried to repair the dresser; however, my drill ran out of battery- which they then took the drill with them. Prior to paying, I saw my nightstand and foot board to my bed, all of which was purchased in May from ****** ********* as a set, was scratched and dented from not being properly protected. I then started opening boxes to see what else was broken, and 4 heirloom mid-century pint glasses were also broken after being in a clearly labeled fragile box. I was furious at this point and got their manager on the phone again. He was once again rude to me, and I refused payment until I spoke to someone else. After having to pay the movers, it took me 4 additional calls to get the owner on the phone. This was another rollercoaster. He was very apologetic and offered to come out to assess the damages- he had seen photos of all of it. He scheduled a day, and had to reschedule as his truck wouldn't start. On the rescheduled day, he was 2 hours late because he overslept from being at a concert the night before, and didn't come with any tools or paint as he mentioned he would bring. We set up another day for him to come and fix the furniture. The day scheduled for him to come and fix my furniture, I had to follow up with him after he failed to show again. He said he was stuck in Austin traffic and would need to come in the morning- we rescheduled again. Once again, he never showed. He offered to be there in an hour; however, I had a job this was now impacting and needed to uphold my responsibilities. He said he was bringing a homemade cutting board, some locally crafted organic soaps, a few more gifts. Over another week went by (we are now almost 2 weeks into this), and I have no follow up. Being 16 days from the date of service, I refused to reschedule and asked him to send a check for the damages. He confirmed a check was in the mail. I followed up after not seeing anything for 3 weeks, and I've received no response. I filed a complaint with the BBB who took it into their hands, and no one at the company would even respond to them. We had hired them for our move because we had used them in the past and they were prompt and professional... Definitely not that at all this time. They were an hour late and damage a family heirloom and our walls in our newly built home. We had told them how to be careful with the table and you had to move together with the table. I came to the new home to the table upside down on the garage floor in 2 pieces. WTF. They dented and scratched up the stair way walls. We had expensive and very heavy furniture. I spoke with Nick over the phone and then he came out for a free in-home quote. They gave me a They extremely professional and very curtious and careful. We have some tight hallways and I was worried about my walls but not a scratch was left. They took great care of my grandma's China as well. So many great things to say about these guys. First Bryce was very responsive. Within two hours of calling them he was at the house to give a quote. Then comes the move, the crew we had was Foster, Kevin and Ryan. Not only were they extremely professional, they did an amazing job wrapping everything, they worked fast and with precision. To top it off they were hilarious and you could tell they were actually having a good time. We had two tricky staircases in both homes and they aced them. No scratches, no dings. These guys are GOOD....! I had to move on a Sunday, Bryce said they could make it happen. They showed up on time, and ready to work. The wife and I had been packing for a week or more and basically had everything ready to go. The guys finished up a few of the big mirrors, and pictures. Plenty of packing quilts, and plenty of energy. What a team of workers. We were out of the house in 4 hours. Bryce had to hold our loads for a couple of days until we closed on our home. Unloading went just as smooth and fast as packing up. So incredibly horrible. Do not use this company. They sent two men high on drugs to move my things from storage to new apartment. They got in to a heated argument (i have audio footge if you're interested). i felt threatened, disrespected, and my stuff was not taken care of. when managers showed up, they were no better, still rude and condescending to myself and my roommate. i ended up moving myself after the two drug-adlded men crashed the uhaul, as i did not feel safe letting them into my apartment. My sofa arm was ripped open, and my bed frame is completely scratched, however they only offered a slip cover to "cover cosmetic damages", and said because no structural damages occurred that was all they could do (mind you I had a couch in perfect condition at the beginning of the move). Have been trying to set up a meeting to discuss said damages and horrible experience, but have had no calls turned at all. I booked this company at the end of April after spending about 3 hours on the phone and text messages with the owner regarding my move from Dallas to Austin at the end of May. He said if I had any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact. Yet, the last text message of the day, no response. He was to call me 2 days later for follow up to some questions I asked. That call never happened. Four more attempts over a two week period with text messages, voicemail, and email, all no response. The place in Austin I moved into even tried to contact since the company was on their recommended list, and they received no response as well. I found myself scrambling to find new movers in the national month of moving. Do not use this company. Unprofessional. Especially considering the conversation the owner and I had about how stressful a long distance move is. From the excellent management and leadership of Nick, the owner, to the job managers, all the way down the workers, this company is everything you could hope for and then some. Professional, courteous, truly care about your things and making what is usually a very stressful day a good and successful experience I have a family of five and the guys took great care to make sure we were well taken care of, all three were genuinely nice guys, worked the entire time without any relent and got us from point A to point B in FIVE HOURS. Amazing. They communicate, deliver what they promise and do it with a smile on their face. We bid the job out to three or four different movers, and Big Easy's was the obvious choice. Big Easy's did a GREAT job with our move from Austin to Dallas this past weekend. Shawn & Earl were on site and did a fantastic job and we had great communication from the owner Nick as well. They gave us a good price (lower than many others we had talked to) and worked hard to get the job done right. Despite a delay during the day and some traffic that caused them to get here later than we planned (it happens, that's life) the guys did a really fantastic job trying to make up for lost time and we were very impressed with their work. These guys took extra care to make sure items weren't broken or busted and were super friendly, hard working and got the job done fast! I hired this company to help me move 2 weekends ago. Everything started off fine, but they chipped the walls in my new apartment. And by chipped, there are large chunks missing from my walls. They also broke a sconce. I was a little bit worried about the damages to the wall and my dresser but I was assured they would come back to fix my wall. While unpacking, I noticed a base to my lamp was missing. I called them the next day to coordinate a time for my walls to be fixed and to get my lamp. No answer so I left a message. The next day, I called them several times and finally got a response. I was told they would drop off my lamp the next day and would be in touch to schedule a time to fix my walls and sconce. Now it's 8 days after my move and they will not return my calls and I still don't have my lamp. If you want a company that doesn't have the integrity to return a phone call and that will give empty promises to repair their damages then hire this company. read more

DO NOT HIRE. This was by the far worst experience I have ever had with a moving company. Not only did the movers show up one hour late, did not bring the necessary boxes, but the movers also lost the screws and parts to my bed and ripped my couch. On top of that, I provided the movers with lunch, only to find a pizza slice in my brand new sink and my building manager said he saw them toss a piece of crust on the hallway floor. After realizing they lost the screws and parts, one of the movers told ME to go back to my old place to look for them and that he would come back at 5pm to help me put it together. After spending hours looking for the parts, no where to be found, I attempted to call back the movers each time going straight to voicemail. The mover eventually called me back at 9pm, claiming that the screws/parts were at my old place and he left them on a box. He did not respond to any of my calls after that. The following day, the owner and movers refused to answer my calls. The owner claimed he could meet me at my place at 1pm to find the screws/parts, he did not call me back until 5pm in which he claimed he was now on his way to Home Depot to look for the parts. He arrives at Home Depot to force the worker at Home Depot to tell me the parts do no exist. The movers then begin to accuse me of not only stealing the parts but sabotaging my own move. IT GETS BETTER. The movers begin to use foul language with me because I will not let them go back to my original place to look for the screws at 9pm at night. After speaking with the CEO, the CEO agreed to give me a 50% discount, and apologized for the lack of professionalism that was exhibited. I come to find out from my bank that the CEO went ahead and deposited the check hours after our agreement for the full amount. FRAUD. I am currently pursuing legal action against this company and I HIGHLY recommend that no person/family ever consider doing business with them. They are unethical, unprofessional, and run a downright dirty business. Please pass this story along as I hope no one ever has to endure what I had to. read more
