EXCELLENT Moving Company!! This was the 1st time that I ever hired a moving company so my expectations were unsure to begin with. But after meeting John, Steve, and Julius my initial worries were put at ease! How they were able to move so much so quickly still boggles my mind b/c I'm pretty sure it took 6+ friends at least 3 days to get my stuff moved in in the first place...LOL. Before the move, John called to verify my location, drop off location, start time, furniture/box estimated count, and a good contact number; he was very adamant about wanting to start early if possible - Sounded Great to me! Company Policy is for a 3-hr minimum move & they got it done!! 2-bdrm apartment on the 3rd floor to a storage unit in just under 3 hours...INCREDIBLE Work Ethic!! John, Steve, and Julius were all very friendly, funny, hard working, and considerate towards wrapping up my furniture correctly to avoid possible damages. Shrink wrap and moving blankets were provided to help get the job done. In all honesty, I had such a great 1st impression with hiring Aussie Movers, I will definitely use them again to move into my next place! Like I said before, this was my 1st time using a moving company, so I was definitely unsure what to expect, but now I do; and they set the bar High. I like that! Without a doubt, this is the best moving company!!!! From the easy set up, to the staff professionalism, all the way down to the price. Management confirms and re confirms your appointment and verifies that all accommodations are met. The staff does not lag, as they are on "your dime" and they work accordingly. The crew that was assigned to my move was so professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with- I specifically requested them for my next request. John, Jeremy and Josh were not only the best movers but they worked together as an amazing team. It's quite rare you find 3 friendly movers, when you're coming from the 3rd floor, in the middle of Texas heat. I would recommend this business to any and everyone. No-show with no explanation or apology. They called the night before out 7AM move telling us they needed to change the time to the afternoon. A bit annoying, but then they just did not show up at all! I was able to get a hold of someone in the LA office who had no idea what was going on, and said he would call us back. He was totally disorganized and said he could not reach the moving team or his supervisor (what mover doesn't have the phone number of their moving team?) No one ever called us with an apology or even an explanation. Aussie Movers is a totally unprofessional company. I highly recommend going with 3 men movers instead, who we ended up calling to come the next day at a very similar rate. Arrived right on time and moved us very professionally. read more

I really regret going with Aussie movers for my recent move. They ended up double charging me for my move. Five phone calls (and voicemails, because they didn't pick up) with no return call I had to finally issue a chargeback with my bank. Then to top it all off, I get a seemingly automated text message from Steven asking me to rate them 5 stars on yelp. Do not use this service, they essentially stole money from me and ran. read more

Hands down the worst moving experience I have ever had. I just bought my first house and wanted to save $50 via Living Social so I didn't go with my usual movers and I regret it 10-fold. Living social offered me 3 guys for 2 hours, but instead 1 guy (the foreman) showed up 5 hours late. Eventually a 2nd guy came, but apparently he left the previous job without finishing. Uh oh.... Recap: Granted it was raining that morning, but the rain stopped by 11 am when my appointment was. Of course, this didn't stop the foreman from using the rain as an excuse. The foreman called to reschedule (which is just ridiculous), but was willing to show up if I didn't mind moving in the rain. But he didn't mention that he was running behind. I started calling at 11:15 am when they hadn't showed and he told me "almost done, just another hour". I heard the same thing when I called every hour and he wasn't at my place...well 5 hours later he showed. I do appreciate that he answered my call, but I wish he would have just told me straight out. To make matters worse, when he arrived he was on the phone trying to get help for about 45 minutes instead of actually helping. At this point, it was 4:30 pm so my friend and I moved everything to him. He did tell me that I didn't need to move stuff, but I wasn't about to be stuck in a situation where I owed him money because the move took longer than 2 hours. The foreman was busy on the phone with his boss explaining why he's late or talking to the next job about why he's late more than actually moving. Then actually told me that he had to take a break before he could help us. This didn't bother me until the end when he tracked the time from 4 pm to 7 pm on my ticket, but didn't mention that he didn't actually start moving anything until 5:30 pm or so. His helper finally showed and was obviously the guy that did the actual work. I get that your tired, but when you're 5 hours behind schedule you should suck it up and keep moving since it's your job. We got the job done with minimal damage, but they did some damage to my apartment floors and that will cost me more than the $50 I saved. When something did scratch, the foreman had the nerve to tell me that I didn't purchase the insurance....ugh, seriously? He also had one more move after me and I could hear him saying the same bullshit to the next folks. Furthermore, he was talking trash about me to my friend telling him that he better be getting laid if he was moving my stuff. He was a nice enough guy, but obviously a bullshitter and in over his head with absolutely no filter on his mouth. I bought the deal so I didn't have to spend all day moving. Well, I did and ended up moving 90% of it myself. (Input sarcasm) He "graciously" didn't charge more than the deal and I think was hanging around for a tip at the end of it all. He had the nerve to say that he hoped he "enlightened" me...to what? Never using Aussie movers again? Yes, you enlightened me to stick with my regular movers - Einstein Moving. The savings was definitely not worth the hassle. While everyone was polite, they overbook their day and can't deliver. I read these yelp reviews and took the chance since a majority of the reviews were good. Maybe it was luck of the draw that I had a bad move, but I"m seeing one bad review for about every 4 and that supports the fact that they are overbooking their day. read more

Editing this review, due to events that were realized post-move. I failed to mention a lamp that was broken - when the mover showed us he broke it, he offered no sort of compensation. It was a fairly cheap lamp and I didn't feel like adding the stress of an argument onto my already stressful move-in day. Additionally, they forgot to unpack one of my items and had to bring it back later that day. Not a huge deal, but annoying. Also, I forgot to mention that after packing all my stuff, I was told they were going to "stop for Gatorade and take a break before meeting me at my new place to unpack." It's important to note that they didn't charge more for the extra time it took to unpack my stuff over the three hours I was committed to paying, however one of the main reasons to hire movers is to get that s*** done as fast as possible! I feel like this is a much more accurate review of Aussie movers - get your act together, guys! read more

I hate moving and moving companies !!! However, Aussie Movers is an exception;) Cookie arranged for 2 guys to clean out a 10x10 storage unit with great efficiency. Imagine my surprise when 3 movers showed up, for the price of 2. I was shocked when they wrapped non-breakable gardening items in one of their blankets. The hubs' cousin lives in TX (Houston) and had to relocate to Austin. I was going to be in TX anyways for a meeting, hubs and I decided to go and help do some of the move. Being from LA, I had heard great things about Aussie Movers from a friend so I recommended them to her. Since I didn't call them to book, etc (since hubs' cousin did it) I don't have any insight on the process over the phone, but if their efficiency and professionalism during the move are any indication of their customer service, then I'm pretty darn sure the whole company is moving gold. Yeah...moving gold....I said it. The guys who came over to help were super nice, super fast - but not too fast that ish broke - and were super careful moving everything. I was kind of impressed how efficiently everything was done. Me and hubs really didn't even provide that much help - Aussie Movers had it all in the bag! A brief update to share the lengths to which Ahmed and team went to reconcile my experience. After Ahmed commented saying he had no indication of any complaint I wrote back to share more about my experience and express that there were serious gaps in communication on his team for him to be hearing about it for the first time from me. He apologized and offered to do the following: fully refund my move (including gratuity paid to his movers, which I did not expect), provide a $100 credit for use by a friend with Aussie Mover's or by me with any other moving company. He has since made good on both offers, sending a full refund to me and discounting my friend's move. I appreciate the gesture and want to recognize and thank Ahmed and team for the actions they took retroactively. I can't in good faith update my review to a three-star "A-OK" rating, because the experience was not that. Ultimately, paying a premium for a move that is on-time/efficient is a better outcome than a "free" move that cost a lot in time, energy, and frustration. I wish Aussie Movers all the best in resolving some of the operational issues that presented a challenge during my move and take Ahmed at his word that he will continue to strive for excellence with his team. read more

This is my second time using Aussie Movers and once again they did a fantastic job. Larry and Steve knocked out my move with swiftness. Steve went Hulk Mode and was moving big appliances and furniture like they were nothing. Make sure you give an accurate inventory and have all your things ready to go. Check out the Groupon they have too. My only complaint is that setting up the initial appointment can be a pain. We played a game of phone tag about 5 times before we were able to set anything up. read more

I was so happy to have Chris and Steve do such a great job from the initial contact through the completed move from a 2nd floor apartment down the road to a 3rd floor apartment. They handled my daughter and her boyfriend's belongings like they were their own. Carefully wrapping large pieces of furniture to ensure their safety. There was prompt and friendly email communication with the company from first contact to the date of the move. I am so glad I found these guys to handle my move! I bought some furniture from an individual and I was concerned about how to go get this furniture and get it home. I am new to the Austin area and don't really have any friends I could talk into helping me (haha). I also did not realize that the furniture was in downtown high rise country. So I was REALLY stressed about this move. That same day, I got a deal from Livingsocial for these guys and it was JUST my luck! I called and spoke to Dave. He was so nice and gave me a quote. I did not book the move right away but took a day to think about it. (Still thinking I could somehow do the move myself!) When I called back, I had to leave a message for them to call me back. Their recording stated how they were completely booked for the month. However, when Dave called me back, which did not take long at all, they were still able to work in my move! These guys were great to work with. I loved speaking to Dave and the crew were all Australian! Love it! Would totally recommend these guys to anyone I know! Well worth the money I spent. On May 6th I was supposed to move into the storage unit and this company changed their time on when they were supposed to be there. They kept running late and finally they called and arrived at 3:50pm and they started the move, they were taking their time and I understand I had a 3 hour minimum and I was quoted 300. So we move everything and everything is going okay, well when they're about to wrap up the time and leave it's already 7:30 the guy said the total cost was $445. I told the movers that he wasn't counting the hours right and he insisted that the price was correct. Being tired, since it was already such a long day we just paid and they left the invoice on the counter. Had to run back out to the truck because they kept my card when they went to run it but said it was an accident and he just about to give it back. The time was 3:50 to 7:30pm I saw they wrote on the invoice 4 hours and 40 minutes. They overcharged me for an hour and I called up there and spoke with numerous people, they apologized and told me they'll talk with management and get it sorted out. The manager NEVER emailed me back or even gave me a courtesy call to see if this has been resolved. It's been almost a month and they still are refusing to pay what they overcharged me. They passed me along to someone else through email an they said they'd refund me a check of $135, 5 days passed and they said oh they now don't see see a problem. But even after they said they're going to mail out the refund. They're just trying to buy more and more time without going through their obligations and paying what they overcharged me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! Go to Caliber moving company or anyone else but them. They're unresponsive and still haven't received my money back. They're scammers and try to come up with multiple excuses. The owner Ahmed is a horrible manager, a bad business man and it's just sad this is how this company does business. read more

I called several businesses that I found from an online search. Aussie Movers got my business because their price was the best and because they communicated well with me before making my final choice. They worked with my schedule and were very friendly on the phone. Daniel and Mike showed up and made short work of the items I needed moved to my new place across town. I was worried about moving my piano and they treated it with kid gloves, getting it to the new place with no damage. Spent the time to fill out their quote form. The website had a lot of styling issues making this harder than it should have been. If your re-sized the text boxes with chrome it broke the page and made it unsubmitable. After finally getting it submitted I never got a quite. Giant waste of time. The movers were amazing! They arrived on time with advanced phone contact to give an accurate arrival time. They were efficient and proactive, while also taking care to treat our belongings respectfully. They openly appreciated the work we had put in to prepare things and to label with blue tape where furniture would go in our new home. That's very helpful to them! Todd and his crew were the absolute BEST MOVERS I've ever had. They were fast, but took such good care of my furniture. They were done in less than 2 hours and I had a Groupon for one hour free. Cheapest move I've ever had in my life and I can't stress this enough....THE ABSOLUTE BEST MOVERS EVER! I highly highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee it! Also, those that have posted very negative reviews are just ignorant, because I've had movers late and the reason being is because the previous move appointment took longer, because a lot of people tend to down play their inventory and then when the movers get there, they are stuck. It's not the movers fault that their first appointment before yours lied about how much stuff they have. These guys work so hard lifting and moving heavy stuff in all weather elements, so they can get all your belongings to your new place. Many I've talked to, who are young, suffer from pain and injuries, because they do this anywhere from 5 hours a day to sometimes early morning till late at night. For an one bedroom apartment moving, 300 is not very cheap. But Aussie did things correctly and fast. John is very experienced and strong, Julius is new, so, John had been training him throughout the moving. My suggestion is, pack as many of your things in boxes as possible, that will speed up the moving a lot!!!! We have so many random stuffs that were packed in bags, thus made the moving long. We will definitely use Aussie again if we need to move, and pack everything in boxes. Last but not the least, provide a detailed inventory will help them estimate how much time they need. read more

I hired Aussie Movers last April to help me with my move. I found a deal off of Groupon and despite not having many reviews at the time we went for it. The movers were very courteous and made sure to carefully wrap items and were really quick and efficient. I had so much stuff but they moved it all so quickly that I was amazed. After we are all moved in and finally unpacked I can confidently say that I have no damaged items and it was a great decision to use Aussie Movers. The owners have chosen to comment claiming I must have gotten the wrong business. I called the number on their website. They use Penske trucks. They are rated "f" by the BBB. Should have checked at the outset, but for others - rated "F" by the Better Business Bureau. I rarely write reviews, and have never written a negative one. My girlfriend recommended them and they have a Groupon, so I bought it - 130 worth paid for. I have a 599 square foot apartment, with an admittedly lot of stuff. However everything that could have been boxed was, and all but the big stuff was bubble wrapped. I scheduled them one month in advance, and told them what I had, and left a voicemail a week later with a few additional things, including my treadmill to add. No return call, but since I was already scheduled I didn't worry about it. No phone call to check in the night before. The morning of the move they call and say they will be late, but that was ok bc I was the early move at 9. They also say they don't take cards or check, I need to have cash. Who doesn't take checks or credit card? So I go get 400 plus tip in cash (they quoted 320 before tip on the phone). They show up at 1030, and tell me they only have 5 furniture blankets. So I pick my most valuable items and ask that they wrap those things. The treadmill.. got dropped, literally, out of the back of the Penske. It works, but the piece that makes it collapsible had been taped back on with packaging tape. My glasses, that I bought the glass protection package for at Home Depot, two were broken anyway, as well as a chipped mug, and I haven't finished unpacking yet. They took a two inch gauge out of a wall at my old place that I have to patch. All of this took 6.5 hours. For a one bedroom one bath- and they quoted me $603 before tip, and with the Groupon (meaning it was actually $733) before bringing it down to 340 (with groupon 470) because I agreed to tip well. They asked for a review. Here it is. Don't. Use. These. People. 3 days later and I've unpacked a few more boxes. 3 more broken glasses, one broken dish. It's like these jerks just threw the boxes in the truck. And the flatscreen has tape marks because since they had no blankets they duct taped a card board box too it. I guess I should be happy they didn't just throw it out if the Penske like the treadmill. They are awful. read more

I was moved by Ray and two other young male movers (whose names I did not catch) last week. They were phenomenal. They were polite, got the job done in the amount of time I had hoped for, quickly, safely and efficiently. Nothing was broken and nothing went amiss. They not only took the items I had identified during the quote, but took almost everything I own! I only had to make one trip with my car which was incredible. I've lived in Austin for 15 years and have moved at least 15 times. Aussie Movers is hands down the best moving company I've ever used and will use them for all of my future moves. They were scheduled for 12pm and called me at 9:45 am to ask if they could come earlier. 3 guys arrived and did a tremendous job. They had me out of my old place and into the new place in less than 2 hours. Not to mention they were extremely careful with all of my stuff. Not a dent or a scratch on anything! The 3 man staff were very personable, moved quickly & efficiently, and also took great care of my belongings. Timothy, Ruben, and Michael did an amazing job with our move! It was completely seamless and they were very careful with all of our personal items. We had asked them to move our things from two different locations, and they were still able to load and unload within 3 hours. The Good: The moving guys were nice. The Bad: My husband left our house that Aussies was packing up around 2:45pm and told me i should probably meet the movers there to make sure they get everything. I was home just a few minutes before 3 and they were already gone. I started heading to the new place and was there by 3:15ish (i didnt drive like a speed demon since i had my kid in the car). Movers are not there and they left before me...hmmmm.. I call Aussies and leave a voice mail at 3:37pm, get a call back 10minutes later and the guy is just as confused as i am on where they could be. Just then the movers show up at 3:48. Everything goes pretty smoothly until i start realizing how much stuff is missing. I stay hopeful that it's all just hiding behind the mattress at the back of the truck. No such luck. They left a total of 8 items which were on the inventory list, at our old place P.s. if you dont specifically note every single one of your belongings they wont take them. Then there was an accident with my couch that resulted in some damages to my new apartment and my couch. The Ugly: I was quoted $180 with the Groupon and paid $255 plus tip by the end of it. Those were extra fees for the "over time they worked"(why did they take so long to get to the second location in the frist place?????). They offered me $50 off for damages instead of going through claims. I declined since i wanted a quote from my apartment complex to process through their claims department. I hadnt noticed the damages to my couch until after they left, unfortunately for me i was so frustrated about the missing items and having to pay full price despite their negligence to notice he didnt note the damages to my couch on the receipt. The guy said he felt bad and offered to help me move the rest of my stuff the next day for $100 extra dollars. Long story short with that one, he never showed up the next day. I paid a random guy off craigslist to do the rest. When i called Aussies i few day later to file a complaint and get the actual email address for their claims department (mover gave me the wrong email address initially). The manager seemed annoyed and genuinely stand offish about the whole situation, he told me there was nothing he could do for me, all of it had to be filed with their claims department. All and all when i think of Aussie movers the word Scum ( and many other four letter words) is closely associated. I am dumb for not checking BBB before buying the groupon and subjecting myself to such a slack company, but i guess we all have to learn hard lessons. Let this be a warning to all that decide to work with Aussies. Btw... Its been a month and i havent heard from their claims department at all. They must be busy... Wonder why? read more

I had a Groupon and hired Better Movers to move me from my apartment to a new house nearby on October 21, 2017. John, Tray, and Dave thankfully arrived a little early and were ready to go. All three were very professional and moved very quickly. All of my items were wrapped and well taken care of. John, Tray, and Dave were friendly and made sure that they put everything where I needed it to be. I was very impressed with how quickly they went, knowing the fee was hourly. I felt like they wanted to give me the best deal possible and worked as fast and as hard as they could. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who needs to be moved. At NO TIME did I tell you to come back that same day. YOU volunteered to. I told you coming another day was FINE. But YOU and YOU ALONE decided to reschedule it that day. I agreed to pay you for the rental truck! I'm not complaining about it but don't act like it's going above and beyond to do something I paid for. You said this was STANDARD PRACTICE. How is above and beyond to do something you're paid to do regularly? Your movers took about 20 minutes to decide they couldn't get down our driveway, yet you charged me a full hour for that. If your Yelp reviews aren't bought then why did you OFFER ME A DISCOUNT for a five-star review? Straight up you did that. "Cookie" stood in my yard and offered it to me. It's clearly company policy. I've reported you to Yelp and they're investigating it. In no way did we try to take advantage by vastly "underestimating" our inventory. We gave you a proper accounting and you said it would take approximately two hours. We wound up paying for four hours work plus the 20 minute long "hour" your workers sat in my driveway doing nothing. You graciously added a fourth worker? Bull. We didn't ask for one. Your choice again. You didn't bring it up then. Why bring it up now? BIGGEST ISSSUE - If you couldn't do the job with 3 people or in the time discussed then WHY didn't you tell me that BEFORE YOU WERE AT MY HOUSE WITH ALL OUR STUFF AND DEMANDING MORE MONEY? You showed up and told me I owed $590 over what was discussed. Didn't you think that was worth mentioning before you did the job? I would've let you keep the initial money we paid & had you walk away. You should tell someone it'll be almost $600 above what they were quoted before you show up ready to unload. This is not a difference of opinion. Rather this is you behaving unprofessionally and trying to act like you're "gracious". I can't believe you're denying you offered me a discount for a five-star review. You've been dishonest in your response multiple times. Just be honest for ONCE and admit some of these reviews are bought. I'm suing you in small claims. read more

Terrible, terrible experience. My move was literally for an apartment right across the street. I bought a living social coupon for a 3 man move for $170, and right away only 2 guys showed up. Then they took a separate hour combined to find parking even though I told them where to park and put my bed back together (which they couldn't remember which screws went where). I left for 45 minutes to get the rest of my boxes from the previous apartment, and when I got back, they hadn't made any progress on the bed. However, with my help, they got the bed back together in the next 15 minutes. Finally, they charged me an extra 2 1/2 hours for the move on top of the Living Social deal. Do not use these a**hats. Living Social gave me a full refund which saved the experience from a complete failure. Must add- just got off the phone with the manager at Aussie Movers. He said the coupon should not have been honored for a Saturday morning move because the Deal says Monday- Thursday, which he is correct. However, his customer service department honored the deal 2 weeks before when I booked it, and his movers honored the coupon as well. Basically, he ended the call subtly blaming me for not reading the deal correctly, and he said he is going to check "the invoice." However, I got a great deal according to him because they charged me for the 2 man service and said it was "unrealistic" for me to expect the agreed upon 3 guys for the move. If I get any refund from this guy, I will be shocked because he was a huge a**hole and immediately got defensive about my claims. He said he thinks I don't understand how the business world works with unforeseen circumstances- sorry buddy, I have been in sales for 6 years working for one the top growing companies in the country in Austin, TX, and we are almost a $400 million company. Don't tell me about business with your mom and pop moving service that can't deliver on a 3 man move to an apartment right across the street from the previous apartment. Not a G'day when dealing with their customer service. Moving day is frustrating enough, just save yourself the trouble and move with another company. I booked a three man crew for two hours, but on moving day only two men showed. The two that did show were courteous so it's really unfortunate that their boss, a guy calling from Los Angeles, has such terrible customer service practices in handling booking and rate issues. He told me that the two man crew has a three hour minimum, so I should be happy that they didn't charge me even more for the third hour. I asked him to stop raising his voice at me and just listen for a moment...I didn't book two men for three hours, I booked three men for two hours and one didn't show. I do not feel I need to pay for the hour for the one that didn't show. The total overage cost was $30 and when you are moving every dollar counts. There's no way I am going to get that money back now, so I hope this review can help some future movers from the same unfortunate situation. read more

I'm not sure why I'm having to deal with this 3 months after the fact, but I stand by my original review. I was contacted by Cookie at Aussie after my initial review 3 months ago and I thought it was dealt with, so you can imagine my surprise to suddenly receive this lengthy response saying that I lied in my review. I have not been contacted by Aussie since that one conversation with Cookie and I'm not sure what the "previous request" is that they're referring to. My move took 2.5 hours, not 4 hours as Aussie claims. It was a 1 bedroom condo being moved 5 miles across town. I purchased the Living Social deal for $120, which covered 2 hours. Then the $50 charge covered the extra 30 minutes the move took. Therefore, I paid $170, which I would not consider to be "virtually free of charge." The head mover absolutely attempted to charge me for more time than the move took and he added on a fee for my location "being a long distance from Aussie's home office" (even though I live 2 miles from downtown). When I spoke to Cookie at Aussie, she explained that this charge absolutely did not apply to my location and removed it from by bill. Finally, I still tipped the two young men who were doing all of the manual labor because I felt obligated to do so. They had worked for 2 hours, they were being disrespected by the guy in charge, and I had not yet noticed the damage on the furniture. Although they had not done a great job, I did not feel comfortable not leaving any tip. I find Aussie's response to my original review to be surprisingly unprofessional and it only reinforces that I would never recommend them. read more

We were moving to TX from clear across the US and it was a quick move. Saw the Living Social deal and called before I bought it to make sure they had time. Cookie, the woman I talked to was so helpful and nice! She gave me great advice driving through Houston and even said we could call her if we got lost in Houston. She was such a sweet heart and love how she went the extra mile! Then when we had to change our days to even sooner, Cookie graciously got us in. When the movers showed up, they unloaded our truck in an hour. They got a few laughs on us on how we packed the truck and were quite funny. I wish we had cash on us to give them a tip at the end, I think they deserved it. I gave them a beer instead. I will use them again and will give their business cards to anyone that says they're moving. read more
