I've emailed Aussie Movers 3 times over the last 2 weeks. No response. Sorry guys, I tried to handle this out of the public eye, but you've given me no choice. Everything that glitters on Groupon, isn't gold. After so many positive reviews, I purchased 2. FIRST MOVE - 2/28/15 (reschedule by Aussie on 3/1/15) Feb 28th turned out to be one of the coldest days in Austin. Days prior, I asked if my move needed to be rescheduled and was told no. I received a text the night before our move from Steven indicating the move may be pushed back on Saturday but will notify me in the morning. When Saturday, 2/28 arrived, I knew ice was in the forecast, so I get another text saying the move will be pushed from 7am to 12p. Hrs later, another message saying the move will be pushed back to 3p. I offered to reschedule for the next day (Sunday, 3/1). Sunday arrived - the guys got lost. It was raining very lightly when they finally arrived. After everything was loaded, I told them the best way to get to the next destination was the 45 toll. They were going so slow behind me - I don't think a speed registered on their truck because I was going 25 mph! Maybe they were being overly cautious. Everything was unloaded to our 3 story town-home in the 3 hour time slot BUT there was damage the walls, wood floors SCRATCHED and even broke a leg on a bed. Steven deducted $50 because he said that's all he could do since I didn't purchase the insurance. I asked to pay by card, Steven told me he didn't have the card swiper thingy so I had to leave to get cash out of the ATM. I paid $180 (not incl the Groupon) and a $20 tip anyway. SECOND MOVE - 3/16/15 I scheduled this move weeks in advance. Gave a precise inventory of everything to be moved. I asked for a quote and was told 3 hours but $115/hr for 3 guys. I asked repeatedly if this could be moved in 3 hrs because if not, I will call for more quotes. I failed to mention in this review our 3 story townhouse has narrow stairways. All of which I indicated to Josh, who took my reservation. He kept saying it was okay. ///ANYWAY - The crew arrives at 9:09am with 2 guys. I was told the 3rd guy was on the way. They took a brief inventory - I signed the necessary paper work, declined the insurance - and they went back to their truck. They returned at 9:31am. I was told by the foreman, I would be charged for materials (the saran wrap and tape) even though I wasn't charged the last time. I immediately called & emailed Aussie because that was nowhere in my contract & I refused to pay for materials that THEY use to move MY stuff. 2 hours into the move, and these guys were nowhere near close to being done. Less talking more working should've been their motto. I eventually received a call from Noah to say I wouldn't be charged for materials and he would let the foreman know. After 3 hours, we moved on to the next destination 4 miles away. 5.5 hours later the crew was done. Severe damage to my foot board - damage to the leg of my armoire - damage to my chest - the walls have marks & scratches that weren't there before. Once again, Steven said he could only take $50 off. Lesson learned. I was only charged 5 hours instead. Final charge, not including the Groupon, was $445. I only tipped them $20. My husband later told me, when he drove up, he saw the guys laughing and talking and not really "working" but when they saw him they got busy. The amount of money I spent for this move could've been spent with another company that may or may not have damaged our stuff - I won't ever know that. I highly doubt I will use Aussie Movers again. It upset me to read all of these reviews on Yelp report no damage and the movers were quick. I can only blame myself for not purchasing the insurance. read more

Aussie here. OY Movers were friendly, smooth sailing until they gashed the hardwood. Mistakes happen I get it. They said they'll get back to my sister, but have done so. Filed a complaint to BBB, they have not responded to BBB. At the moment, AMEX is doing an investigation. Ahmed E, could you please make this right again? read more

I was all set to give them a 5 star review, until I realized they kept the screws to my bed. The mover contacted me right away saying he had done so and I asked him to drop it off at my house which he said he would. I later called to follow up because he never dropped off the screws. I specifically asked them to tape all parts to their respective furniture. I provided the bags and the screws, but that obviously was not done or I wouldn't be in this predicament. I called quite a few times and left two voice mails and finally received a call from Cookie. She was so apologetic, telling me that this mover was no longer with the company but called him up anyway and found out where the screws were and told me she would get them to me by the next day. Great! Not so great. I called the next day to follow up, no answer, left a voice mail. I called again the day after, no answer, no call back. Called the day after, no answer, no call back. I called the place I bought the bed and they cannot send the screws and even if they could, it's going to take weeks to get them delivered. I have left several voice mails and STILL have not received a call back and now I'm screwed (no pun intended). In order to put my bed together I'm going to have to take pictures, measure the area, and be at the mercy of Home Depot. This is unfortunate because I would have definitely used them again but as of right now, I do not recommend. Hopefully this review will get someone's attention and I can get a call back. read more

It was a little hard getting them on the phone but it was worth the wait. I give these guys 5 stars. Not only were they on time but they were polite, friendly and careful with my things. To make it even better they moved me in record time. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I have moved more times than i would like to remember, but by far, this was one of the most pleasant experiences that i have had with a moving company. First, it was arranged on a very short notice and the dispatcher (Cookie) was great to work with and rearranged the busy Sat schedule to accommodate us, which was big lifesaver. When the day came, the movers were kind enough to call ahead and let us know that they were running ahead of time and asked if they could come by earlier which was much appreciated. The crew was fantastic to work with (Steve, Chris, Justin)-they were professional, hard working, pleasant, and hustlers! We got the job done quickly and not a single item was broken. I can't say enough great things about this company and would give them my highest recommendation. Strongly consider using this company for your next move, you will be glad you did. read more

Aussie Movers helped me move my stuff from South to North. Not only were they on time and professional, but they worked hard and quick (Not normal when getting paid by the hour). Everything was transported safely and was wrapped cautiously before loading it onto their truck! They are not going to come with some guys F150 Leaking oil and a trailer. They will come with a Moving truck equivalent to UHAUL! Moving is stressful, let Aussie Movers take the stress out of your move! read more

I did the Amazon Local coupon with Aussie movers since I just so happened to be going through a small move from an apt in hyde park to downtown that weekend. They were super accommodating on the phone, we were originally set up for Monday but I told them to give me a call if they had any openings and lo and behold I got a call on Saturday saying they had an opening Sunday. Three impressively strong folks (Josh, Terrance, and Lloyd) got everything in and out seamlessly in basically one hour. They carried quite a few heavy boxes and furniture pieces up three flights of stairs. It would have been a big hassle without their help. They even let me ride with them in the truck from my old place to my new place. Would definitely use them again next time I have a move. read more

Update: Ahmed from Aussie Movers went above and beyond to make up for the experience I had with the local Aussie office. Even though I never used the service, he refunded me for the trouble I had to go through dealing with the staff and having to find new movers. Before he refunded, he offered me discounted moving services and promised excellence. Because of his generosity, I have changed my opinion about Aussie. I would definitely give Aussie another shot as long as Ahmed is involved. read more

These guys are definitely fast and do a good job with the furniture. They had everything needed for the move as far as keeping furniture safe and protected and a big truck. We moved from a second story apt to a third story so it was a tough job in my opinion. John, Clint and Ray did our move. I don't know which one was which anymore, but one of them was really cute, just fyi. I took a star off bc the organization of the whole thing was a little questionable. I hope they can make a more clear way for a person to represent the amount they need to move. They got pushed back bc apparently someone before us misrepresented the amount they had which changed our time to move a bit. They really tried to be accommodating and protect our move so we actually moved a little earlier than planned so they could do the other move after ours. We had more than they expected though and I wasn't interested in paying more than what had been previously discussed so we ended up with some things left over that we had to move ourselves which was a pain in the ass, but we knew someone with a pick up so it worked out fine. Don't let this happen to you!! Over estimate how much you think you have and be thorough with your list. I suggest saying you have one more bedroom than you actually have. The move is charged by the hour so you get charged fairly and based on the actual work. And these guys work really hard from what I saw. I used a living social deal for 2 hours and I suggest having them explain thoroughly what you are getting and how much you will be charged in advanced so there are no surprises. The fact that they moved all of our major stuff in 2 hours is impressive as we were moving a half hour north. The other reason I didn't do 5 stars is bc the main mouth for the group, I think it was John, seemed a little shady. He asked for a departure fee which I'm assuming means a tip. We rarely carry cash and I never even thought of a tip. I would have been happy to add one to the charge on my credit card, but I was never given the option. I understand that they are doing a service and need to get paid, but asking for a tip is pretty sad, especially bc I would have given one if I could have added it to the charge card. Asking for a review on yelp is fine, but don't tell people what to say. Your work will write the review for you and you guys were great. I will definitely use them again in the future and be more conscious of the fact that I have more stuff than I realize ; ) read more

Let me put this as straight forward as possible- DO NOT USE THEM. -Arrived 8 hours late for the move -One crew member asked me personal questions -The worst customer service ever at the main office -Damaged my furniture -Took four months of me non stop calling to get the insurance refund of $50 -Ahmed is rude and does not understand the importance of customer retention read more

I would just like to say, the day began with insane thunderstorms, flash floods, and a tornado warning to boot. Rod + Richard were AMAZING. They were so friendly, fast, and efficient. I can't say enough about how grateful I am for the experience! It was a crazy day to move, but they made it fun. We laughed, we moved, we got soaked. I can't forget Safia, she was the original one to help me on the phone to set up my move, and she was super sweet and fantastic. I will recommend this team to all of me friends! Rock on y'all thank you so much for making my move so easy. read more

These guys were fantastic! This is the first time I have hired movers (I've always done it myself in the past) and I did this with a fair amount of trepidation having heard a lot of horror stories. But they were true to their word and they showed up exactly on time and they took exactly as long as they said they would. They were very up-front with costs and asked me what my preferences were for everything (did they want me to wrap couches and beds, etc). I cannot say enough good things about these guys. The movers were all super-nice and courteous, no swearing, no bad attitudes. They seemed happy to be moving my stuff and they were super-hard working. All-around A+ for this company! read more

Moved from a 1300 sqft apartment to a home and couldn't have asked for a better experience with Steve-O, Victor and David. They not only arrived on time, but they arrived early and full of energy. My husband and I have a toddler and didn't have the time to get all the packing done that we wanted to. The crew provided us with crates to use to pack more stuff which was extremely helpful. The crew was very professional, very careful with our belongings and very fast! I'm grateful to Aussie Movers! read more

I moved into a new subdivision on the 17th of Aug and I just got internet up and running today , and I have to say that the first thing I had to do, is to get on here and tell everybody about Dan and the guys down at Aussie movers! They were easy to reach, easy to schedule, took great care of my stuff and worked within my time frame to get it done..I would give them 10 stars if I could but I cant so they will get a high 5. I highly recommend them and will definitely be calling them again. read more

Nothing makes me happier than when a vendor that I didn't have a great experience with demonstrates that they want to fix the situation. Wasn't thrilled with my one experience with Aussie Movers. But management seems to have stepped up in the last few months. Got several messages from the GM about our move, and he seemed really intent on apologizing and making things right. It's a bit late in the game at this point, but I'd be willing to keep them in mind next time I need movers. read more

Initially, it was hard to reach someone at their office by phone, but once I emailed, the responses from Cookie were very prompt and they were able to accommodate me very last-minute, which was wonderful because I was in a panic at that point. I used an Amazon Local/Living Social deal and it was worth every dollar spent. The moving team of 3, headed by Josh, called to let me know when they would be arriving, were friendly, and finished the whole process in under two hours without any complaints, despite having to move in the rain. Thank you! read more

We used Aussie once before and they were 2hrs late and unprepared but got the job done and offered a discount for our inconvenience. We decided to give them another chance so I scheduled them about 2 weeks in advance. On the day of the move after several calls and emails the movers called about 3 hrs late and said they were still about an hr away stating they needed to pick up one of the helpers, the traffic was heavy and they had to stop and eat on the way! Unbelievable! Almost 4 hrs late they arrived only to say they wouldn't move us because we had a couch and a few boxes we hadn't mentioned in the original list. We have not received a call from the office regarding their unprofessionalism. The bind they left us in was totally unacceptable. Do not use them!!! read more

This was the first time I've ever used movers and for sure will be using them again. The guys who moved my apartment were friendly, organized, and even handled a crazy neighbor perfectly! I was thoroughly impressed by their service on my move day. I will certainly recommend them to anyone. Thanks, Aussie Movers! read more

These guys were efficient, friendly, polite, and did an excellent job. My wife spoke with the lady on the phone to book the appointment and found her to be really nice and going above and beyond. She even had a go at helping us find a new premises. At no time were we offered any incentive to write a good review. We merely were asked to write a review if we were happy with the service as it helps them to get more business, something that is normal and done by loads of businesses these days. I'm happy to report that my wife and I were very happy with the service and have no hesitation in recommending Aussie Movers to anyone. read more

We hired Aussie movers to move contents of a 28ft trailer into my garage, Aussie movers were quoted us the lowest price and there were no conditions like 2hr minimum, they quoted us a per hour price. They called half hour before the scheduled time and made sure we were ready for them. It was a super cold saturday morning, the movers showed up on time and finished the job under two hours. The movers were very very efficient and very careful with the items they were moving, they were very professional, very polite, we were so impressed we gave them a nice tip. read more

Our crew was phenomenal. They hustled and packed our house and delivered it to our new home as fluid as humanly possible. These guys were respectful, polite and considerate with myself, my husband, the neighbors and our belongings. I want to thank Rod and the rest of the crew for an amazing job (sorry I forgot the other two gentlemen's names). If I every needed to move again I would definitely want this 3 man team for my move. You rock Aussie Movers! read more

These guys did a great job. Showed up on time, communicated well, and were a real pleasure to work with. The movers and I worked together to get things packed and moved to the new location, and we had a great time doing it - we were cracking jokes with each other non-stop throughout the process! Really great service, and I'd use them again. read more

I have used Aussie movers twice before and both times they were perfectly competent in their moving abilities (except for the fact that one of them used my number to text me and ask me out after they left--very unprofessional). Today I have a move scheduled for an arrival time of 8am-9am. It is now 10am, and the movers have yet to arrive and have yet to call me. Aussie Movers is open today from 8am-3pm, and I have been repeatedly calling their office and nobody has answered the phones. I even called/text their LA office. I have tried every avenue possible to contact them, except smoke signals. I have emailed them, left two voice mails, text them, requested a call back on their website, and now I am resorting to writing a review! Please Aussie Movers could you do your job and follow through with your end of the bargain?? You have seriously inconvenienced my entire day and I need you to right this wrong! A representative from the company finally called at 10:30am to inform me that the moving crew would be late. Yeah, no shit..thanks for the heads up. One of the movers called me back at 2:45pm and said they would arrive in 25 minutes (continued to make excuses about why they were late and traffic). I waited around for them for almost an hour and they called me back again at 3:35pm informing me that they had to stop and put air in the dolly tires because they did not know they were flat (yet another example of poor preparation). Once again they inform me that they are 25 minutes away. Finally, the movers show up at 4:15pm (only 8 hours late from their scheduled time). Meanwhile, the representative from the company informs me that he spoke to the owner of the company (Ahmed) and said that he agreed to compensate me for the inconvenience and adjust my bill accordingly on Monday morning (when the company is in the office). I was told to call the customer service number listed on their website (1-877-692-8774) but of course this is the WRONG number. This number is for an entirely different company. UPDATE FROM 3/7/2017: It is now Tuesday and I have been trying to call/email Aussie Movers, but of course nobody answers the phone or responds to email. I hope the owner is a man of his word and will do as he promised. If not, I will have to resort to calling the Better Business Bureau. I also found it interesting that the owner replied to a previous yelp review on 1/2/2017 stating "We do not use rental vehicles or "Penske" trucks as we have our own fleet." And yet, just two days ago my movers showed up in a big, yellow PENSKE truck. Hmm.. the more I learn about this company the more apparent it is that this is just another jack-leg company that rents trucks and makes the clients pay $50 for the rental, hires inexperienced and unreliable movers, has poor customer service, and overall runs a shady business. I have lost all faith in this company and do not trust them. Ahmed, if you're reading this and consider yourself a stand up business owner, then please follow through with your word and compensate me accordingly for your company's major screw-up. Do the right thing. read more

The Better Movers - Enough said. The owner is a scam artist. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! - Movers Near Me

Easy to set up an appointment, submitted an app online and the called me the next day. Had to change the move time 72 hours before the move with no issues at all. The movers were great, helped me move into a 3rd story appartment in just a little over 2 hours. Don't know if it still exist but I purchased a coupon on GroupOn, pay $65 for $130 worth of services. read more

This was by far the easiest move that we've had. We've moved three times with different moving services, and this was the best. The guys packed the truck quickly and efficiently, and nothing was damaged in transit. The rate was good, and the work was excellent. I highly recommend them! read more

Our movers Justin Hutchinson and Dean were wonderful. They were on time, fast, and professional. The helped us load our items safely and quickly. I would highly recommend Aussie Movers to anyone. Thank you for a fast and quick move! read more

After this mix-up, both John and Ahmed have been more than helpful in making things right. i was able to call Livingsocial, ask for a refund, and Aussie movers was available on the other line to approve. Overall, things happen, and I'm glad the issue is resolved. Maybe we'll try again some other time! read more

Aside from a couple of dings on the walls and furniture, we got a lot of stuff moved in the required 3 hr. timeframe (right at the last second!) at a great price. The team were in good spirits thanks to their enthusiastic, energetic captain, who kept them happy even through the rain. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for competitive rates & friendly service. read more

**Update** Upon reading my initial review, this business contacted me and was cooperative in resolving this issue at hand. They expedited the process of compensation to handle the damages during the move, and even compensated me a little more than expected. These guys are awesome! I bought a LivingSocial deal for 2 hours, 3 man crew, $179. Couldn't think of a better way to spend the money. They were professional, friendly, and worked hard to unload everything where I wanted it. They did my 2br/2.5ba apartment in a little under 3 hours. They were running behind but called often to let me know. They took care of my things and went above and beyond. Definitely recommend. read more

I had Aussie Movers move me the first week of September and they did an absolutely amazing job. It was a 3 man crew (shoutout to Jobe, Ray & Tim) and they got there looked at what I needed to move and were extremely efficient. Couldn't have asked for anything more from these guys. I also used a Groupon which they quickly validated. They finished in about 1 hr 30 mins instead of the 2 hours they quoted. I should also note this crew was super friendly (Jobe aka mini-hercules was a beast and real friendly guy). Everyone was awesome and will use them again in the future. read more

Somehow I end up moving apartments just about every year so I have hired a lot of moving companies and Aussie Movers is one of the best in my experience. I had Crew 1 with John, Ray, and Marco. They were all very professional and very friendly. My stuff was moved in no time and they were also very personable so the move was actually fun instead of being the stressful mess it could have been. The next time I move I will definitely be looking for these guys again! read more

I have a lot to say about Aussie Movers but I have to start by saying I probably had very bad luck. I'm sure they can work out well but I have TWO huge tips for you if you want this to go smoothly: 1) when they ask you what inventory, tell them EVERYTHING!!! I was only told the "big stuff" so the workers don't get "fatigued". I told them large items I can't carry myself, and hence, hiring movers. Of course, of the top of my head, I could not remember every item in the home. They can charge a 20% surcharge if you don't give them the correct inventory turns out! I would've liked to have known that on the phone! So please do tell them just about everything you've got! It was incredibly upsetting to find this out. They didn't add a surcharge but I was told multiple times they would like a gracious tip instead. 2) I have moved my piano 3 times in the last 20 months by expert piano movers. If you have a piano, just hire a piano mover. I paid $125 to move my piano with Aussie movers and they just aren't expert movers and it made me nervous. It also cuts into the time you booked so skip this hassle and let them move everything else. Hire expert piano movers! Okay with tips out of the way, here's my pros: PROS 1) very professional crew. They are nice and polite both on phone and in person. I met 4 of them. I was only suppose to have 2 movers. More on this interesting dilemma later. 2) cAreful with your stuff. They packed and wrapped well and communicated with each other. They appear to be a great team. Before you read cons, I need you to know this isn't entirely the fault of the crew. I loved the crew and am sure I just had bad luck CONS 1) about 3 hours late due to their morning move and one guy was fatigued and quit. They had to drag another guy in who was off. I felt bad. Don't they need people on call for this? And after all that, I ended up meeting 4 different people.. All very nice but it was disconcerting. When you've got people moving your personal belongings in and out of your home, you really want the same faces. It was unexpected. 2) they forgot stuff. This made me really sad. We already had to remind them they left a dresser upstairs (and this was actually in inventory!) They ended up leaving 3 very large pieces of furniture that they repeatedly walked past and they were reminded of it before we left the house. Just plain ole left it with the garage door wide open and furniture in view. We are moving it by ourselves today. That was the most disappointing part :( 3) they left my door to the house wide open so my AC could cool down the city of Austin. I am not going to be happy about this AC bill. What a waste.. And guess what, Austin is still about 100 degrees! I recommend not moving in the summer here. Well, those are the main points. I have to add that two of us were helping move also. The whole thing took a lot longer than 3 hours which isn't surprising. Just supervise to make sure all items are moved, close the doors behind them, and list your inventory carefully!!!! It has been 23 days since I submitted a claim for the piano. I have heard nothing back from the company even though I've emailed once and called once since then. I'm incredibly disappointed in the way they are handling (or rather completely ignoring) my claim. Forget this company and go with one that is more reliable. read more

I, too, bought the Living Social deal for this company based upon the good reviews on Yelp. My team was Terrance, John, and Lloyd and they were extremely polite and treated me well. Two of them were right on time but one was 30 minutes late. I would have taken issue with that if they had gone over the 2 hour time frame. Thankfully I was moving my stuff into a storage garage and not into my new place yet. If I had been, then I'm sure they would have gone over the 2 hours. Overall I was pleased with the service. read more

I had previously used two other movers through Living Social Deals. Neither one could be considered again, so I bought another voucher for Aussie Movers. This company was a winner. A couple of no-show employees delayed their arrival, but they were able to recover quickly and be on the job with very little delay. The bill was adjusted accordingly, which I very much appreciated. The movers were professional, cheerful, and personable. There were hugs all around after we finished a grueling morning of moving in freezing rain. Stephen and Joshua get a thumbs up from me. As does Cookie, who handled the admin end of the job very efficiently. I even got emails from her at night and on weekends. Thanks, Aussies! read more

I hired Aussie Movers to help me move on Sunday. I was quoted noon to 4pm start time. Someone from Aussie Movers called Friday to tell me that the crew was heading to Dallas first and would arrive at the later end of the noon to 4pm window. When I booked the reservation they said they'd try to get a different crew to do my move so they could arrive closer to noon. They actually arrived at 10:30pm. I didn't get to bed until after 1am. The move took about 2 1/2 hours because I helped the entire time as a 3rd mover. They said I didn't need to help out, but I chose to help out because i was tired and wanted to go to bed asap. 2 stars because each of the movers were professional and hard working, they did a great job. Other than that, all around disappointing experience and super frustrating to wait around all day and get to bed so late on an already stressful moving day. read more

I didn't know what to expect when I purchased the groupon for Aussie Movers, but these guys were fantastic. I had some trouble scheduling initially, but their website was down, so I was able to schedule easily by calling them. I had a one bedroom and was moving about 20 minutes away. The guys showed up right on time, and were absolutely outstanding. They shook my hand, packed up my stuff easily, and handled all of my items with care.
