I want to clarify my initial five-star review. I felt somewhat pressured to leave a review on the spot--one of the movers hovered around me, repeatedly asking me to submit a review so we could take a picture. That didn't give me time to properly reflect on the service. The crew was originally scheduled to arrive at 6:00 PM, but they didn't show up until a little after 7:00 PM. I was told three movers would be present, but only two arrived. I had clearly communicated in advance that the move involved three flights of stairs and the removal of three TVs from the wall, and I was told that was fine. The initial quote I received was $555 for three hours (with a $100 deposit already paid). However, I was charged $706. The mover claimed this was due to the move involving an extra flight of stairs, even though I had already informed the company of that detail. I was also promised a 20% discount due to a misquote from a new staff member, and an additional 5% discount for paying in cash. I received neither of these discounts. Due to the missing crew member, I had to assist in carrying many of my belongings down three flights of stairs myself. Despite this, I still tipped both movers $100 each because I didn't want to be unfair to them individually--but the service overall was disappointing. Only two TVs were moved, and one was left mounted on the wall. When we arrived at the new location (which had an elevator), items were not placed where they were supposed to be. One mover kept asking, "Is there anything else to do?"--which felt dismissive given that it was clear the job wasn't complete. Overall, this experience felt unprofessional, disorganized, and overpriced. I have not yet spoken with a manager, but I plan to, as I believe the situation needs to be addressed. Showed up 9 hours after the window. Destroyed my floors and scuffed walls. In the 9 hour window I had zero contact with the company. He ignored my calls and never gave me a valid timeline. The movers couldn't read the labeled boxes. Ignored instructions. I ended up moving in at 9:30pm and finished after 12 midnight. And he had the nerve to charge me more than the quoted price cause he added additional helpers to finish. Not to mention they spoke a foreign language the entire time and didn't understand English. Move and Care is certainly the most value for your money. They're flexible, communicative, professional and pretty efficient. This is my second time using them and I don't imagine I'd switch to any other movers because of the great experience. I even got a discount being a returning customer. The only two critiques I have is one of the corners of a piece of furniture did get a little damaged. It is a bit oddly shaped. And the 2nd is more of a note to future self - don't book moving during rush hour. The transport time can easily double in Austin traffic. read more

I DO NOT recommend this moving company. I booked them for a move thinking we would have three large pieces of furniture moved. They quoted us nearly $400, so we decided to move two of these ourselves and just have them move one piece of furniture, figuring it would only take about an hour and they quoted us at $135 an hour. They took a $100 deposit- which was neither applied to my job or refunded, and then charged me the full 3 hours rate for one hour!! I paid the worker because I know he doesn't set the prices and then called to request a cost breakdown and was told they charge a 3 hour minimum. Nowhere in this process was I told this, and when I said I would pay for the time taken and the tip for the guys that moved our hutch but not for three hours, I was met with an "...okay??" And told that it would be elevated to customer service. I never received a call back. I tried to email three times and called to follow up and have been IGNORED. They took nearly $500 dollars of my money to move ONE PIECE OF FURNITURE and have never contacted me back. I would say if you have a small move in mind GO ELSEWHERE and do not give them your business. I am an hourly wage worker and made it clear this was out of my budget and I never would have agreed if I had been quoted nearly $500 and still I've received no effort to make it right. Move and Care were total pros. I had narrowed my moving companies down to two moving companies. Due to unforeseen my move out date changed a few times. The other moving company stopped returning my calls but Move and Care understood my circumstances and when I found out on a Friday that I had to move out by Monday, Move and Care were ready with a large truck and two amazing movers. They packed all my glass table tops with thick moving blankets taped professionally. The movers took special care of all my belongings: most of which were moved to my new apartment and the rest to a storage space. Even though I had measured and predetermined how furniture and belongings would be arranged, there were some spacial limitations which required some items to be put back in the truck. The movers never complained about anything. They set up my glass tables perfectly, moved all my furniture and boxes as if they were their own, and even moved and arranged my multilevel glass TV stand and unboxed my loudspeakers which I had brought to my garage myself out of fear they would be broken. Those fears turned out to be unwarranted. Nothing was broken during my move. I can't thank Move and Care enough for their dealing with my changing move dates up until just days before my move, moving all my personal property with utmost care and safety, their friendliness, and total professionalism. read more

Move and Care came highly recommended on Google reviews and had a super reasonable rate ($119) and hour which is why I chose them. They get 5 stars overall as they were able to make an urgent move happen over the weekend just a couple days after calling, and the two guys who showed up really hustled to make it happen- even though I was the last move of the day. They both handled things well and kindly, taking care of my items, wrapping them well and even running back and forth to get the job done quickly. The only hang ups were this- the arrival window was 3-5 but they didn't get there until 6:30- which made for a late load out- I understand the move before took longer and elevator was out but it was def frustrating having to unload at 9pm... also the quote/price/deposit component was a little confusing- I asked about hidden costs and fees at booking, to which they said there were none, but the small print on the quote talks about travel time and mileage, but is really confusing and doesn't directly state "you will be charged for the travel time to your location and back to our base" which considering I was moving from RR to S Austin added a significant amount of time. I spoke with Vitaly the owner and we came to a middle ground agreement we were both happy with and he noted he would review the verbiage to ensure this was more clearly stated and didn't look like it was included in the cost estimate. Apparently this is industry standard but many movers in the past and places I researched this time said front first box load in to last load out- however those charged a little more per hour so I'm sure that evens out. All in all they handled business without a gripe- did a great job and were very easy to work with. read more

When I first booked with Move and Care LLC, I was quoted an estimate (and yes I understand that it was just an estimate) of about $500-$600 dollars. I Was told In confidence that my move would only take maybe 3-3.5 hours with 3 movers for a 2 bedroom 900sqft apartment. Well my movers were not only an hour late, but there were only 2 movers, and it took them a total of 7 hours. They were helpful and took care of all my furniture, which I deeply appreciated, but I would have appreciated a more accurate quote, actually showing up on time, and more movers to handle the job (since I was quoted 3 movers from the start). We were so pleased with the professionalism and the personal care and service of Move and Care during our move yesterday. Our first contact via phone with Dmytro was thorough and comfortable. Dmytro understood our unique needs - working with a deaf client using text messages instead of voice, picking up goods in two places - a home and a storage unit, and also the need to carry household goods up three flights of stairs without an elevator. Dmytro arranged everything on the phone without a problem. Yesterday, the day of the move, everything turned out as well as could ever be hoped for. Eddie and Ollie came a bit after the time arranged with Dmytro, but they contacted us and let us know they would be a bit late. They then gave us an exact time of their estimated arrival. Eddie and Ollie took everything from the home in their truck, drove to the storage unit, picked up everything there, and then drove to the new apartment and hauled everything up three flights of stairs. There is no way we could have done this without these strong men. Eddie and Ollie were courteous and helpful, doing all the tasks we needed for the day. On November 28h I hired this company to move me from one city to another. I'm the type of customer who really never write when I should. The experience I had with this company was the worst from the start. During the initial conversation the time was clear and set for 8am. The day of the move I was told that wasn't the time I set, even though I call three times after setting the appointment for the move to reconfirm that the following was set in place such as: time, three guys, toll cost which was told I wouldn't be charged for, and informing them that their maybe stairs if items are to heavy. Well, let me just say my conversation to start the day off was nothing but unprofessional, but I was stuck in the continued service due to trying to find another company last minute was going to be tough, believe me I tried. Secondly, I had requested that all big furniture were to come up first due to how small the place was that I was moving into. I was reassured that it wouldn't be a problem, well let's just say none of what I requested was done and came with a lot of unprofessional response of why not and what I needed as a customer was never taken into account. I am oxygen which is not easy already. Since they didn't listen to my request of bringing up the bigger pieces first, I was stuck rearranging in a small space of picking up all the boxes and moving heavy furniture around by self, which causes me being put into the hospital that evening the next day. I know that each experience maybe different which I read the reviews, which also made it easy to choose this company. The worst experience and would never use this company again. To add to injury, I was quoted $1700 something after the $103.00 was being deducted from the total price of &1800 something. This was done in person, after I looked at my invoice tell me why I was charged $1900 something minus the $103.00 which brought it to $1800 something. I called and spoke with someone and like the rest of my experience it didn't go anywhere but lead to frustration. I hug up in the man's face and told him I will be writing a review on how my experience was and will never use them again.
