Buyer beware! Our preferred movers double-booked our moving…read moreday, so we tried Melrose. They were not the cheapest, so I thought I was paying for quality. They damaged some small items and never followed up after I told them about the items. They said they would send it to a manager, and I never heard back. I even sent a follow up reminder. We haven't unwrapped everything and I'm really worried when we do. Isn't this why they have insurance? I mean, it was less than a couple hundred dollars worth of "valuable to us" items. We paid them thousands, and I tipped their workers more than the damage would have been. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I've given them almost 2 months to reply. I will say, the movers were some of the most polite I've ever met!

To be honest almost all of them were fine... nothing went wrong and clearly we built a relationship if I used him so many times. The very unfortunate thing about this whole thing is on my last move (beginning of August 2023) he broke my big green egg and damaged my Peloton bike in transit. I didn't even freak out because he started off right... apologizing and saying he was going to take care of it. He hadn't broken anything else before so I tried to be nice and let him know we will figure it out end it'll be ok because I thought I could trust him. I didn't question him about it much until months and months went by without a single dollar or action and to be honest I was very lenient and understanding because like I said I've used him many jobs and I thought I could trust him. He told me his insurance was taking for ever, but he promised he would handle it. At the very end of October he let me know his insurance denied covering the claim, but he knew needed to pay me for my things that were damaged. He didn't pay me right away and once again I was as patient as I could be because of the relationship we built. On November 13th, over 3 months since the items were broken, he made his first payment. He made another payment November 16th. That was the last I've heard from him and he still owes me over $400. I have called and left voicemails, sent multiple texts over 2 weeks and still not a word from him. I work very hard for the things that I have and I paid him on time for all the jobs he had done. It's very unfortunate, disappointing and disrespectful to be treated this way not only after all the money and business I've sent his way, but to not to do the right thing whenever something goes wrong is not how things should be handled. I would've never expected him to treat me or anyone else like this especially with all the different interactions we've had, but it just goes to show you so many people rather not do the right thing no matter what you've done for them or how you've supported their business. I can no longer back Steven or his company up. I will no longer recommend them to anyone. I am also including pictures of the damage, pictures of what it costs to replace my items as screen shots of payments so you all know this is an honest review. Steven, if you choose to do the right thing and send me the rest of my money I will take this review down.

This is my second move in less than two years and my last experience with Two Men and a Truck was horrible. MASH showed up right at start time and made magic happen. I thought I only wanted help with big items but I will be hiring them for the rest of the move instead because they were so efficient and worked tirelessly to complete the move. My old house, my new house, all of my stuff is in the exact same condition it was before we moved. They are so sweet and organized and calm, I can't believe the contrast between these guys and our last move!!!! 5 stars, 10/10, no notes. Do not go with anyone else! Let me start with David, we booked for a move on Feb 15th originally two weeks in advance. The…read morestorm hit, I think catching most of us off guard and postponing our move. David, who manages the office and books the jobs did a fantastic job staying in contact with us and working with us to ensure the safety of my family as well as his team. The driveway to our complex was up a steep hill and covered in ice. We were able to reschedule for a move on Monday February 22nd with an early start time. Mojo and Emeka called about 15-20 minutes before arriving and took the instructions well to get to our hard to find apartment unit. They took a brief walk around the unit and decided a plan of attack. Then the clock started. While the move took longer than I had originally expected both of these guys worked hard the entire time. No breaks. No milking the clock. The only two breaks they took were once on the way to deliver when they stopped to pick up rehydration beverages, which they asked for permission to do first and did not charge us for, and the second time was when we offered them food and beverages while unloading. There was minimal/no damage to our property when all was said and done. There were a few marks made in the very narrow stairwell, which the owner promptly came out the next day and cleaned up himself. No knicks, divots, or scratches to any of the walls in our old apartment or the brand new built home we moved into. Before I continue I just want to give every customer a heads up, you can safe yourself and your movers a lot of time by prearranging everything before hand. Take apart beds, take apart sectionals, disconnect washers, dryers, and refrigerators. Anything you can do to make their job as simple as picking up the items and moving it into the truck. The prices they offered across the board by companies in Austin was higher than when I managed a moving company in Austin 13 years ago and even with that being said Jackson was the lowest bid I received and not to mention, their phone lines were never busy and communication was very easy. At the end of the day I was very pleased with the service from EVERYONE in the Jackson's Moving organization and will absolutely use them again in the future. I got a text from him the evening before to change pick up time to 8am. I said 9am would be better. One of his employees called next morning at 9:30am stating they were trying to get a driver. However, you do get what you pay for. We have 2 media shelves that we have moved across the country as well as another move in Austin that has stayed in tact and was never an issue being moved. One of the movers picked the first one up and the moment he left the apartment we hear a big crash and a "um the shelf fell apart on its own". Of course no one saw what happened, but the next shelf that was moved was completely fine. They aren't responsible because of a liability waiver they make you sign for anything that is made up of particle boards (and they make you sign a waiver for this - which I haven't done so with any other company). So, I think my husband wouldn't have been as mad if 1) the mover said "I'm sorry, I slipped" or something like that since they can't be liable anyways, and 2) we can fix it, which we tried glue gun and all, but we will just have to get a new one... so, we saved on 1 hour of labor but will have to use that savings on a new media shelf. The other thing that annoyed me is that I was quoted for 2 people, but 3 showed up and they wanted to charge me for the 3 movers vs 2. They told me it's because they were so busy and running behind... Then tried to tell me it's a better deal because they will move faster. We got this resolved, but I have a feeling that if I didn't fight for my quote, I would have been charged $130 vs the $90 I was quoted. If you have furniture from ikea or anything that isn't real wood, don't utilize them, because they won't be liable for breaking them. The thing I liked is the value, but it has come back and bit me in the ass.
