These guys were amazing. Second time I've used them. First was move out help from a second floor apt to a first floor. Second time (Aug 2016) was to load everything I own into a POD before I moved to Paris for 3 months. These guys are nice and brilliant. I am spatially challenged... could not figure out how a 16 foot POD would fit all my stuff... they made it work!!! They never freaked out (as I was doing) and they just were hard working and nice as heck. PLEASE make sure to consider them for your move. I had originally scheduled another company of veterans but the communication sucked and it was just not a good fit after talking to the owner. SUN WEST rocks!!! We hired Sun West through Uhaul and are super disappointed with the entire experience. We attempted to contact Sun West a week prior to our move and always got voicemail; when we did get a hold of someone they'd tell us they were at a job and would call back but never followed through. On the day of our move they didn't show up. When we called they stated we didn't confirm our move and went to a different job instead. They arrived a few hours later which put most of our cleaning behind as well. They were quick but they weren't considerate at all of our belongings. 3 hours into our 14 hour trip we checked in our belongings and ended up having to throw some of our things away (the pictured frame had left shattered glass inside the truck). My spouse had back surgery earlier this year and we hired movers to avoid heavy lifting. We ended up reloading the truck with plenty of space to spare. Originally the truck was packed so full items fell on us when we opened it. Can't believe we spent so much money to have to end up doing the job ourselves all while having to dispose of personal belongings. Dreading opening our boxes as we arent sure how much might be damaged inside. read more

Guys were clean, pleasant and came prepared. They did a good job loading and unloading. They also helped me with a few things that I couldn't handle because of size and weight. Could have done a better job putting the stuff in storage to make better use of the space I will have to go back and redo this. Everything was done in less than their allotted time. I can't believe I didn't review them before now. I used them a year ago when I moved apartments. They were very fast and efficient. My sister and I were moving to a 2 bedroom apartment and everything was pretty much packed up and ready to go for the 2-man team. They worked quickly, asked where we wanted stuffed to be placed, etc. Incredibly affordable for the quality of work we received. I think they even built my sister's bed for her since they pretty much finished everything in the first hour. They did a great job and when we move, we will definitely be using them again in the future! read more

If there were a way to give negative stars as a rating, I would give this company a -10 stars! They showed up late for our move and caused several thousand dollars worth of damage to our furniture while loading it. We attempted to reach out to the owner and were told for over a month that he was out of town. When we finally threatened legal action, the owner Crandall informed us that his responsibility to the customer ends "when the moving van door closed". They represent themselves as a bonded moving company which means they are insured. A simple apology, some professionalism and $1500 to repair our furniture was too much to ask. Now they will be paying us the maximum legal limit from small claims court of $20,000 and legal fees. I bet Crandall is rethinking his approach to customer complaints now!!! read more

I am truly amazed at their efficiency and the careful way they moved my stuff from a 20 ft U-Haul into my apartment. I'm amazed because it took 6 grown men - including myself- an hour to transfer my stuff from the 2nd story from my prior apartment, and it took Crandall and his son Clarence 2 hours and 45 minutes to efficiently move all our belongings into our new apartment which is on the 3rd story. I used them this week to move my furniture from one apartment to another one in the same community. When I called him to make the reservation, he told me that he only charged $55/hr M-Th. When he arrived, he got right to it and he moved everything in about 2 hours. He was very polite and always asked where I wanted something to be put down, instead of just setting it down anywhere. Please do not use this moving company! I worked with a man called Jay, and that is how he identified himself on the phone to me (I guess that is his nickname for Crandall Arterberry) he is VERY unprofessional! AVOID AT ALL COST! I used them to move my items in to a storage unit. My new place would not be ready for 7 weeks. Upon the 2nd move from the storage unit to my new home, a lamp, wrought iron lawn chair, the wheel of my BBQ grill, antique lamp, a dent in my fridge were all broken or damaged. My 65' flat screen tv screen was shattered- even though it was packed in the correct TV moving box! My realtor informed Jay of this, and he denied the damage. He came over to my house to see the damage, and argued with me and told lies. 2 people were at my old home during the initial move to the storage unit, and Jay said he would pack my tv in the box, no problem. After the damage, he said he told us that we had the wrong tv box, and that his insurance company requires the to be packed in their original purchase box! This is a lie. He never said that, and I have 2 witnesses that were there! Who keeps the original box! He is a liar, he refuses to pay for my damages! He has not returned any emails or calls from my me or my realtor! DO NOT USE! He is a liar and a cheat. I actually had to tell him to get out of my house because of how he was arguing with me when he came over to see the damage! He is a shady businessman, and will damage your items. Look up his business on the BBB, he has one previous complaint filed against him for this same issue, where he ignored calls and did not want to pay for the damages! My tv that he broke was only 4 years old! Did not get to enjoy my money's worth! DO NOT USE this moving service. Despicable, Irresponsible, Rude, Shady company! He knows what he did, hence his silence! But karma is a real thing Jay, you will lose more than the damage you caused to my items. If I could give a zero star I would! read more

DO NOT USE!!!!! They damaged my couch after I specifically OFFERED to wrap it myself. They said they would, they didn't. They then proceeded to bang the couch up against every railing, wall, etc they could find tearing the fabric and causing stains. One of the mover's sweaty headprints was all over the pillow. I then asked for their boss' information to contact regarding damages. Called the boss, was told "I'm in the field and don't have time to speak with you." Okay, your movers will be here for another hour and a half. I will wait to pay until I hear back from you. He said okay! Then called his movers and told them not to lift another thing until I paid them. I refused and they left. They were barely moving when they actually were there. I am sure they were trying to make the job last longer to try to charge me for more hours. They were also over an hour late. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. read more

I originally gave Sun West Movers a great review, I believe they are probably good for in town moves- If you are moving out of state STAY AWAY!!! I should have watched them load my U Haul- but I assumed I had hired professionals. Once I moved out my mattress I discovered their true work, they piled my heavy coffee table on top of cardboard boxes, things were tossed in (and not from travel) every piece of wood furniture had a scrape and scratch, my couch was ripped on the bottom from where the had force it into the U Haul. I assume the did this, because I was moving out of state and they could care less. read more

Three men moved our belongings from one house to another. They were efficient, courteous and competent. Everything arrived in good order. We even had a downpour in the afternoon. They worked into the night to get us all moved. Previous to this relocation of our residence, they had moved my office furniture when I changed locations. read more

These guys were terrible, and I would never recommend their services. To start, they are completely unfriendly and unpleasant to be around. They don't shower like normal people and their sweat will drip all over your items. As far as efficiency goes, they took twice as much time as they should have taken to do what they did. This is probably because one guy was just standing around the whole time drinking his powerade while he watched the other mover do the work. Then after each trip from the apartment, they would "strategize" in the truck on how to load the items. This meant standing around for 5-10 minutes each time to take a break and sneakily run up the hours. Because of this, I was forced to keep adding time to the moving estimate. Eventually when they got the last box on the truck, they bolted quicker than lightning instead of honoring the time they had left on the move to help secure the items. Sadly, they may not be very good at packing a truck because after a short trip to the new apartment across town, the boxes had fallen and broken open, a mirror was smashed, the tv was permanently damaged and not has a glare on it, and there was a giant hole in the boxspring. All this in a short move! Crandall the owner was completely unapologetic, saying it was my fault for not double checking their work and for not securing it better after they stacked it. Now I am out over a thousand dollars from their work. I would be careful with them, because although they are "insured, bonded, etc." that doesn't mean anything unless you actually see them drop the thing itself. So beware. I will gladly pay the extra money next time to get some stand up people because these guys are borderline fraudulent. read more
