A great restaurant in Beverly Hills. The place is surrounded by high end shops, plastic surgeon offices and a salon. The ambience is nice with a great outside/inside deck. The service was excellent and our Gavin Newsom doppelgänger (GND) waiter had great recommendations and didn't hesitate replacing a cocktail that I thought was too smokey for my taste. GND checked in regularly and definitely a pro. We had a steak, lambchops and branzino fish (which I only knew about from the Bear) along with several sides. Everyone liked the steak more than the lamb chops. The fish was good, though I think something thicker would be more filling. We were there on the earlier side, and the place started to get busier later in the evening.
I've always wanted to come here, so my brother brought me for my birthday and it exceeded every expectation. Located right on Rodeo in Beverly Hills, this place delivers such a beautiful, upscale experience from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is stunning, the energy is lively, and you can tell it is a go to spot. Yes, parking is valet, which is not ideal, but once you are inside, everything else completely makes up for it. The service is truly top tier. The team is attentive, welcoming, and makes you feel taken care of the entire time. I had the chance to meet Kyle, the manager, who was amazing, and Taylor at the front was just as kind and accommodating. They really elevated the whole experience. Since it was my birthday, they went out of their way to make it special with champagne and ice cream, which I loved. Now the food and drinks were so good. I had the Donkey tequila drink, which is basically a margarita served inside a little donkey, such a fun and unique touch, and it tasted amazing. I also ordered an appetizer that was on the smaller side, but it was still really good and honestly did not take away from the experience because the meal itself was perfectly sized. We got the tomahawk steak with chimichurri, and it was incredible, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the table side service. They prepared part of the meal right in front of us, which made everything feel more interactive, elevated, and exciting, especially for a first visit and for a birthday. Overall, everything from the aesthetics to the service to the food was on point. This is one of those places that feels like an experience, not just dinner. I will absolutely be coming back!!!
This restaurant has an old-world charm - a mixture of boho Mexican with a Hollywood flare. I can see why it's called the hideaway because the inside does feel quite hidden with many rooms that are dim and rustic. Food was very tasty. We ordered the trio sampler and beef empanadas for starters. The sampler of tuna tartare fried taco, fish ceviche, and shrimp fried taco was so delicious. Beef empanadas were pretty good. For entrees, we had branzino and prime New York steak with chimichurri sauce. The steak was tender, cooked perfectly and very flavorful. And the branzino was also moist and delicious. Cocktail drinks were decent. Service was just decent. They were very busy, and our waitress was nice but quite rushy when taking orders. As much as the food was good overall, I do feel that the price point is too expensive. For example, the trio sampler portion was pretty small yet it costs $38. I know that it's intended to be a Mexican steakhouse, but to pay that high of price for upscale Mexican food really doesn't make sense when there are very good high-end Mexican restaurants elsewhere for cheaper.
I had a business open table reception here. Here are my thoughts on this quaint "hideaway": Food: A. Super fresh, delicious and nutritious options with a wide variety. There were many fish options which is ideal with an exquisite wagyu beef taquito. Service: A+ The servers were attentive and quick to fetch whatever I asked for. There was always one of them present. One even brought me a glass of sparkling water to sip on for my drive home per my request. Ambiance: A+ Excellent decor in this hidden restaurant away from the street traffic of Rodeo Drive for your private non-paparazzi dining. You may not have people-watching views of the street but there's plenty of interesting viewing within the restaurant. Dietitian Dorothy's tips - Nutrition 4 Men: indulge in the fish for high protein low fat options. Nutrition 4 Ladies: skip the chips. Use the salsas and hot sauce to flavor your dish instead.
Came for Bruch w my bestie. We had a great time catching up & enjoying our meals. However, there can definitely be some improvement on the dishes! The tacos come dismantled for you to assemble which isn't so bad but my tacos were very bland. The chipotle sauce recipe needs to be re-done, I was not a fan of it. The enchiladas were just okay. The mini-flans were, unfortunately, not tasty at all so i didn't eve eat mine. On the other hand, the service is perfect! The waiters were all so sweet & alternative to us. Im very thankful for that. We made sure to leave a good tip! The ambiance is ADORABLE!!
They sent out an email about $10 margaritas for National Margarita Day and that was all the convincing I needed. Sunday plans = handled. Came in for brunch and had a great experience from the jump. Andrea at the host stand got us seated quickly and Juan took care of us the whole time. Superb service. I ordered the mushroom fajitas and they were so good, perfectly seasoned, fresh, and way more flavorful than I expected. And yes, we fully committed to the margarita situation. 3 rounds each. No regrets, no complaints. Parking was easy too: first 2 hours free in the structure, which is a win especially being right on Rodeo Drive. Great location, great vibe, great service. I'd definitely come back.
The Hideaway is a hidden gem in Beverly Hills area. I had a fantastic time dining in this restaurant. For service, I can say staff went above and beyond in providing service. Our servers kept checking on us and asking us how was the food, if is there anything we need? We didn't feel rushed at all. Also, they were out of one of the menu items we ordered. Our servers apologized and suggest another item. It was so good glad we listened to his suggestions. What made the experience more pleasant was even manager came over and apologized for the item being sold out for the day. That was really heartwarming and very kind of the people working there. It is understandable that on Sundays afternoon/evening restaurants might run out of items. For food, I can say it was one of the best Mexican foods that I had recently. Dips were out of this world, they were so good. I would suggest ordering empanadas because they were delicious. Tacos are so good too. For Ambiance, I would say that this location is picture worthy for Instagram. It is very nicely decorated and table set up is really cute. It is a very cozy restaurant. I highly recommend dinning in this restaurant, everything was so good. I would give ten stars, if that was an option.
First things first--don't blink or you'll miss it. The Hideaway is tucked away on the outskirts, so definitely drive slow and keep your eyes open for the small entryway that opens into an outdoor plaza shared with other businesses (food spots + med spas). Parking is available right next to the building, but the entrance to the underground garage is very small. Heads up: if you have a big truck, I'd recommend parking elsewhere. Parking details (because we all need the tea): * Underground parking at the restaurant is $15 for the first 30 minutes or $30 max for the day (I paid the $30). * About a block away, there's $10 all-day parking, but this was on a Sunday--use your discretion. Once you park underground, there's an elevator that takes you straight up to the first floor and literally drops you off right in front of the restaurant--super convenient. Now let's talk vibes. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported to Cuba. Think dim lighting, small lit candles throughout the space, and an intimate, warm glow that instantly sets the mood. My guest and I were given the option to sit indoors by the bar/booths or outside on the patio. The patio was adorable--very Victorian meets Cuba meets Golden Girls furniture but tastefully done and so cute. We chose a booth next to the bar, which came with small TVs (Super Bowl Sunday, baby!). The sound was off and the TV was slightly delayed, but honestly it didn't kill the vibe. Service was top tier. From the hostess to the salad maker to our server, Carlos--everyone was genuinely kind and attentive. Carlos checked in on us consistently without hovering and made the night feel special. Let's get into this booth nostalgia though--old murals and cut-out magazine art celebrating Latin culture, plus a literal button you can press that turns red to signal for more margaritas to keep flowing cute, clever, and dangerous in the best way. Food I did the 3-course meal, and baby... we were FED. * Starter: Handmade side-table Caesar salad with tons of parmesan and freshly cracked black pepper (yes please). Presentation was beautiful, though the Dijon mustard in the dressing came through a bit strong for my personal taste. Still very good. * Main: I chose the tempura branzino, which was light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My guest had the steak and fries, and that plate was cleaned. No notes. * Cocktails: We both tried A Night in Tulum--smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. * Dessert: Blueberry sorbet with a touch of mint--light, refreshing, and the perfect ending. Shoutout to the chef, because the flavors were on point. Chips and salsa kept coming, margaritas were flowing, and the entire experience felt intentional and elevated. The crowd was light, but I'm not sure if that was because of the Super Bowl or just how Sunday nights are--but honestly, I loved the intimacy. It felt like a place where regulars come in, sit at the bar, chat with the bartenders like family, and just be. Final thoughts: Perfect for a girls' night out, date night, or even a solo bar date when you want good food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you feel cute and cared for. Plus, you can stroll Rodeo Drive afterward to walk it all off. I absolutely loved The Hideaway. Soft, chic, flavorful, and full of heart. 10/10 -- I'll definitely be back.
Came here for Dine LA and my experience here was pretty good. $25 for a 3-course lunch in this area is such as steal! Firstly, the table chips and salsa were good. There were huge chunks of tomato in the salsa which was different, but I still enjoyed the roasted veggie flavor of the salsa. For the appetizer, I ordered the chicken empanadas and they were relatively good. They reminded me of Filipino-style empanadas which are baked and sweet which these ones were too with the sweet dipping sauce. Additionally, they gave my friend and I small quesadillas with guac on the house which was nice and they were pretty tasty. For the main course, I chose the Short Rib Enchiladas and they were okay. They didn't feel or taste authentic, but they were still tasty. Lastly for dessert, I ordered the flan which was good, but it was not mind-blowing. The part I enjoyed the most was the ambiance and experience. This restaurant is hidden in the middle of some buildings in Beverly Hills. I enjoyed dining outdoors in what felt like a Spanish/Mexican courtyard. Everything felt luxurious and well decorated. I also liked the service which was very efficient and attentive. My water was always refilled and I was constantly brought fresh plates while my old ones were busted. Overall, a great experience here. While the food was not super authentic, their take on the food and the value of it was good and I enjoyed the experience dining here.
Nice location and great atmosphere for a December weekday afternoon as it was cool but we were seated outside next to the firepit which made it pleasant. The chips and salsa was slightly spicy and very addictive. Went with the prix fix menu: Chicken Empanadas- Flaky crust and filled with juicy chicken so pretty generous 2 piece starter. Beef Rib Enchiladas- Another decent portion of shredded juicy beef with a mild red sauce and melted cheese paired with bowls of cilantro rice and a black bean which made a great dip for the chips. Flan- A little tequila is not a bad thing, as this was a nice punch to the delicate and sweet end. Great service and friendly staff!

Wow! Ended up in BH because I attended an art gallery opening. Looked for someplace to eat that wouldn't make me have to take out a loan lol. Found this place. The menu was good and I was hungry. I ordered the 6 oz filet mignon. It was absolutely fantastic. So tender and incredibly good. The service was amazing, always right there when I needed them. Loved the ambiance too, it had a cozy and intimate feel to it. I don't live anywhere near here but I definitely want to return! read more

I really love this place. It is super authentic. And the architecture is amazing. With the flooring and the tables and all their little aesthetics. The food is absolutely amazing and you can tell everything is homemade from the empanadas to the tortillas. I really appreciate the sodas and the bottles of the offer here and they also have a lot of great music that they play. It's pretty loud when you sit outside, but other than that, everyone is super friendly and this is truly such a unique place. The chicken empanadas were so delicious but it comes with this surprised me. I was expecting more spicy tacos actually cook perfectly and I enjoyed the flavor so much. It is a very big portion. The hideaway is literally a hidden gem inside a plaza on rodeo drive. Once inside it is beautifully decorated and a fantastic spot to enjoy the night. The food was fantastic... the only issue is too many great choices. I forgot to take pictures of many of the dishes because we ate too quickly. Guacamole and tuna tartare were excellent. Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were fabulous. Service was good but it felt like they were at times overwhelmed. Partly due to the restaurant being packed. Dinner lasted a long time so don't come in with the expectation to grab a quick meal. The best part is enjoying the ambiance and great food. They have a valet option or you can park at the near by structure. The restaurant is on the pricey side so all the goodness adds up quick. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

The Hideaway in Beverly Hills on Rodeo drive is a beautiful spot to come. They started us off with complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered some chilaquilles. Handmade tortilla chips, chile de arbol creamy sauce, chino farm sunnyside up egg, cilantro, pickle onions, smoke cotija. I highly recommend them. We also ordered the A5 Wagyu steak, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly tender and full of flavor. Our drinks were beautifully presented, got a their kiwi margaritas. -For dessert, we ended with the their famous creamy chocolate cake which was indulgent. The service was impeccable--our server was incredibly attentive and made the experience even more enjoyable. Look forward to coming back and trying some of their yummy Mexican inspired dishes. This review is for the Margarita Class only. Luron (sp?) was our bartender for a fun and lively cocktail class! The three of us came to celebrate our friend's birthday and were excited to shake things up. For $45, the experience included two tacos, chips and salsa, a handcrafted margarita, and even a keepsake shot glass. The class was both fun and enlightening, we actually picked up a few new mixing and shaking tips. The tacos were outstanding; we tried the seabass and the A5 Japanese wagyu, and both were absolutely delicious. The salsa had a bit too much heat for me, but you can request the bean dip instead for your chips, which is a nice option. We also added the wasabi infused guacamole which was excellent, but I don't recommend the flan since it was more like a dense pudding. We had such a great time, left with big smiles, and honestly forgot all about the souvenir shot glasses until we got home. Can't wait to return and try the full menu, this is definitely a spot worth sharing with friends. read more

came here after shopping around and this place did not disappoint! my boyfriend and i had such a great time -- the service was amazing. we sat at the bar and only got drinks while waiting for our dinner reservation, but we'll definitely be back to try the food next time. the bartenders were super knowledgeable and made great recommendations that matched exactly what we liked. the vibe here was also really nice -- loved the look of the place with both bar and patio seating. honestly didn't even mind sitting at the bar because the staff were so friendly and fun to talk to. not often do we walk into a random spot and end up blown away like this one! read more
Great little spot on rodeo drive. Cute atmosphere and good food for the price. Got the three course special for 32 which includes stater that comes with an entree of your choice. As well as a dessert at the end. Service was attentive and food was brought out in a reasonable time. The whole meal took about 2 hours and couldn't finish all the food I was so full! Hideaway is one of my go-to dinner spots! I've sat in a few different areas and every spot has its own great vibe -- whether it's inside, out on the covered patio, or by the fire (my personal favorite). I love the Latin vibe and the food -- everything I've tried has been amazing. The bar looks super cool and adds to the whole atmosphere of the place. July 2024 | Beverly Hills: The Hideaway is a gorgeous restaurant with delicious food & excellent customer service! Loved the outdoor patio seating, so pretty! Dine LA Menu: Delicious! The Fish Tacos were amazing & flavorful with the mango slaw, yum!! The Rice was particularly delicious mixed in with cilantro! The Churros were good w/the chocolate & strawberry sauce(my favorite!) Extra/Shared: The Corn Empanadas were absolutely delicious dipped into the Banana Ketchup, yum!!! I don't normally like Flan at all, but absolutely LOVED it here!! Loved that there was a handbag holder beside us!! Customer Service: The girls at check-in were friendly & quite welcoming! Our server Mitchell was so sweet, attentive & all-around awesome! Note: It was a very hot day, and we were naturally thirsty! When given the water option, we said no to sparkly, and yes to water in general! The bill reflected $9.50 for the bottle of water that arrived on our table! We chose The Hideaway on Rodeo Drive after seeing lots of great reviews on Google and from food bloggers on Instagram. It has a Mexican/Baja-inspired theme, but overall felt like it was designed more for tourists than delivering anything authentic. When we arrived, they were still preparing our table. I asked to be seated under the canopy, and about 10 minutes later, we were shown to our spot. Our server, Brent, was honestly the best part of the evening--friendly, attentive, and professional. To start, we ordered the "One Night in Tulum" cocktails ($21 each), a mezcal-based drink served in ceramic donkey mugs. At price point of this restaurant, it came off as gimmicky. The drink itself was so-so. We also ordered Ceviche de Camarón ($25)--bland, under-seasoned, and lacking both acidity. We asked for lime and salt so it would at least be palatable. For mains, we had the Pan Roasted Scallops ($52), the 8 oz Filet Mignon ($62), and Esquites ($15). The scallops were slightly overcooked, and the habanero cream sauce was bland. The jicama slaw on the side was the best part of the dish. The filet came out medium and already sliced, even though we asked for it medium rare and intact. We sent it back, and it returned sliced again--medium rare this time--but it had an odd texture and lacked seasoning. We left most of it uneaten. Brent did his best to make it right, offering complimentary sparkling water and two cocktails. But when the bill came to $250, it still didn't sit right. I expressed my disappointment, and Brent brought over the manager, who was generous enough to comp $150 off the bill and offered us two cocktails at the bar. That was appreciated. The bar itself has an okay vibe--not bad, but nothing special. The Whiskey Sours we had there were actually excellent, which made the food even more of a letdown. After leaving the restaurant, we went to a local bar, but they're were about to close. We overheard the bartender recommending this other spot "El Carmen" to a patron and said they were open until 2 am. We said what the heck let's go! It really turned the night around. It's a Mexican themed "dive" bar. We enjoyed Whiskey Sours, grilled fish, and asada street tacos that were absolute flavor bombs. And at $7 for 2, we ordered three rounds. THAT was the kind of quality and flavor we were hoping for. We will be staying far away from The Hideaway. read more

I would highly recommend The Hideaway. The ambiance is amazing along with the Spanish charm. We had no reservations and sat in the dining room. The Hideaway is an upscale Mexican restaurant situated within the Rodeo Collection on Rodeo Drive. The name is fitting, as it is tucked away inside this distinctive building. My wife made a reservation, and we arrived early; just a note, the restaurant opens at 11:30 AM. The outdoor setting has a rustic greenhouse vibe, featuring charming tables and chairs adorned with bohemian embroidered pillows. Inside, the atmosphere leans towards a dark romantic aesthetic, while the outdoor space offers a skyline reminiscent of a greenhouse. Upon arrival, we were quickly seated, which is a major plus when dining with a child. The advantage of an early reservation! Our waitress was attentive and friendly, engaging particularly well with my daughter. The menu was quite extensive, so we opted for the lunch Prix-Fixe menu. We began our meal with complimentary chips and salsa. The spread included two salsa, along with lemon, limes, and salt for seasoning the chips. The chips were crunchy and salty; although I wished they were slightly less salty, I appreciated the option to add more salt to taste. We kicked off our experience with margaritas: I chose the mango margarita, and my wife had the Tommy margarita, both of which were delicious. For the first course, we ordered the chicken empanadas, which the menu described as handmade pastries filled with chicken picadilla, banana, habanero, ketchup, and mango slaw. While they looked and had good texture, they were quite small, and the chicken filling lacked flavor. I found myself relying on the banana-habanero sauce for added taste, but it didn't provide enough spice. I preferred the salsa that accompanied the chips instead. For the second course, we tried the Baja fish tacos, which featured crispy sea bass with chipotle aïoli, mango slaw, and pickled jalapeños, served with rice and beans. They were decent; the fried fish alone wasn't impressive, but when combined with the tacos, rice, and beans, I would rate them a 6 out of 10. To be fair, I've not yet found an exceptional fried fish taco, so I felt there might still be potential. For dessert, my wife chose the flan, which she found delicious, although it was quite small. I had the chocolate chip spiced cookie, which was just average--more like a microwaved cookie with a touch of whipped cream. In conclusion, my experience at The Hideaway was enjoyable. The service was excellent, and the management personally welcomed us when we were seated. While the food from the Prix-Fixe menu was just okay, I am intrigued by the brunch offerings and main menu items, suggesting I might have missed some better options. The atmosphere was delightful, so I would definitely return, though I would likely skip the Prix-Fixe menu next time. read more

We came here for a friend's birthday. Service was great and staff were very friendly! We brought a cake and they were able to hold onto it for us until the very end. They even helped us cut and serve it after we sang happy birthday. Ambiance was super cute. We came for brunch and sat outside. Food however was just ok for the price (which is why I gave this place 3 stars). Drinks were good though. I also got the Tulum drink and it came in a ceramic donkey! We went to The Hideaway in Beverly Hills, and while the ambiance was super cute and the decor had a nice vibe, the food didn't quite hit the mark. I asked for two different types of empanadas, but they didn't have them available, so we ended up trying the ones they had, which were decent but not amazing. The food felt more American/Spanish than Mexican--definitely not the flavors I was expecting. The drinks were good, though, and the service was fine, nothing too special but not bad either. We just had some drinks and empanadas but ended up deciding to eat somewhere else afterward. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I wouldn't rush back for the food. Last I heard, this place was owned by Evan Ross, I forgot to ask if it's still true. Reservations were super easy. They actually answer the phone unlike most Beverly Hills restaurants. Overall we had a great time and the food was good. Facility - 5/5. So cute! Bathroom was clean. We loved our table which was sort of in a nook. Food: 4/5 3/5 - Wagyu beef flautas. They were good but l hardly tasted any wagyu in them and it didn't taste grilled like the regular wagyu steak. Wouldn't get these again. 5/5 - table-side Caesar salad. It was cool watching it being prepared. 4/5 - Chili Relleno (daughter wanted a side of protein but they would only allow her to order a whole other entree and not a side! 5/5 - Australian wagyu ribeye - very grilled and flavorful. Son loved it. 4/5 - Chilean Seabass 4/5 - 3 cheese chorizo Mac n cheese There are a lot of other tasty sounding items to try on the menu so we plan to come back! I enjoy dining here because of the decor and vibe! It's a beautiful restaurant hidden away from the city. There is parking on the street, nearby structure of even within the same building. Food has always been good - slightly on the pricier side but on par with LA/Beverly Hills pricing. During the last visit, I ordered the uno dos tres entree, in which you get to select an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I got the Flautas, Short Rib Enchiladas, and Churros. Everything was good though I've definitely had better churros, which was more on the doughy side. Drinks here are delicious! Lots of margarita options. Ugh... I knew it was too good to be true. Took some family here the other week and they changed the entire menu set up and got rid of the deals (including $19 marg flight). The waiter we had made us feel so uncomfortable this time as well. Didn't understand social cues.. even said "ew" to some of our order choices because he didn't agree with them. Proceeded to tell us he'll order something different for us... Just overall really weird experience this time. Been 4 times and it's been 50/50... bring back the marg flights and better happy hour and I MIGHT start coming regularly again. read more

Wow, the food was delicious! The staff is amazing! We are visiting from San Jose and wanted to stop and eat somewhere special before heading back home. When I was looking online, this place caught my eye. Beautiful decor, great ambiance. When we arrived, every single staff member treated us so nicely. Jairus and Miranda were so welcoming and friendly. My mom said, "Thank you Evan! You are the best!" He treated us with such kindness. It is very clear that love was put into this restaurant. Came for lunch during the week and ordered the Uno. Dos. Tres. I chose the chicken empanadas, short rib enchiladas, and churros. Everything had great flavor. The only downside was that the churros were undercooked and were doughy in the center. The serviced lacked. The waitress wasn't very attentive to our table. We were only a group of four and it took 2 hours for us to be served our meals and dessert. Waitress rarely came to our table to see if we needed anything. The hideaway is located in Beverly Hills off of Rodeo. It definitely alludes to the name as it's tucked away in a shopping center but once you enter you feel like your in a garden oasis. The aesthetic is trendy. What really brought us here was the lunch menu. They have a three course for $32 and it is fantastic! You get your appetizer with your main course which can be a bit heavy but so good. I did the waygu Flautas with the fajitas. It was delicious. My hubby ordered the empanadas and the burger. I think the Flautas were more flavorful in my opinion but he really enjoyed the burger. We both ordered the churros as dessert and the dipping sauces were the perfect pairing. Service was 5/5 our server was attentive and funny. Very kind with great recommendations. The drinks are $18 and up. I loved the pinky margarita it was delicious but the guava margarita was a bit lackluster for myself. Overall, a cute little spot in la. I can see this also making a cute date night.
