Wow! Great presentation and mild flavors
Priscilla L.

Wow! 5 stars! First time I took a chance to order through Doordash for a restaurant that has no storefront and boy was I not disappointed! I don't normally use these delivery services because they take a big cut from that little businesses. But this was only way to get food for my lunch. Plus my boss was nice enough to pay for my lunch from a place that deliver, so I chose something different from the typical foods my coworkers got. I do hope they open a real store front and I can go in person and sit down at a restaurant. But wow the presentation was right on, looks great and the sauce had great flavors with some sweet potatoes chunks in it. I really, really like this dish. I would love to order it again for a special occasion. There is also couple of peanuts in the sauce for those who may be allergic to peanuts. Chicken thigh and drumstick was fall off the bone which was great! That's how you know the stew is good! Finger licking good! There is probably a way for me to order pickup too, besides delivery. I just need to study the app better and use maps to found out how to get there. I am sure the other entrees are probably just as good as the one I chose which was: Massaman Chicken Curry Slow Cook Chicken Leg, Coconut Base Curry, Roasted Peanut, Sweet Potato, Onion, Ginger Strip, Cilantro, Fresno Chili, Fried Shallot, Steamed Jasmine Rice and Roti dairy-free Definitely yummy in my tummy. I hope to make a return visit to try more yummy food. Keep up the good work Hidden Bistro, I am a fan for sure! :)

Massaman Chicken Curry

This is my first time getting The Hidden Bistro for lunch through my workplace lunch system called Forkable. I thought the concept was very interesting because they operate out of a ghost kitchen and focus on bringing Thai, Vietnamese and Burmese dishes! All cuisines with strong flavors. I ordered the Massaman Chicken Curry ($14.95) which consists of Slow Cook Chicken Leg, Coconut Base Curry, Roasted Peanut, Sweet Potato, Onion, Ginger Strip, Cilantro, Fresno Chili, Fried Shallot and Roti. Honestly, I had zero expectations but it really surprised me! The chicken was sooo juicy and tender. The curry itself had such great flavors although be warned it is a little on the sweeter side. The dish also came with some roti that paired well with the curry as it balanced it out. I am super curious to try their Vietnamese dishes! I would definitely recommend to order from them! If you order through their website, you can get 15% off with the code "THEHIDDENBISTRO"

This place is a hidden gem! I have ordered DoorDash from the ghost kitchen many times and decided to try this place. I ordered the massaman beef short rib curry and the laksa curry chicken noodle soup. The massaman curry is sweet and flavorful. The short rib is amazing; the meat is tender and the portion is big too. The laksa soup is well balanced, not too heavy. The chicken was cooked well too. Overall I was very impressed and will absolutely reorder. The food presentation and quality definitely feels like a higher end restaurant's take out. 5/5!

Delicious! Hidden bistro is a ghost kitchen and markets itself as a southeast Asian restaurant. However, it's definitely more Thai than any other southeast Asian country. I picked up my food on a Thursday night from the ghost kitchen itself. The kitchen is located in an industrial/warehouse area and can seem intimidating at night. So bring a friend if driving through alone. I tried the pork veggie roll, massamam chicken curry and the pork rib laksa. The roll was delicious and might be my favorite dish - it has great texture and the peanut sauce was yummy. The massamum curry was on the sweet side and the laksa was more of a curry broth. They were all delicious tho. The meats were definitely very well done. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes on the menu. Definitely worth the try.

To be honest, I don't get the chance to eat Southeast Asian food very often, but I know great taste in flavors and The Hidden Bistro definitely has great flavors! I truly enjoyed every single dish we ordered and I'm so glad they're in SF! They currently operate out of a ghost kitchen on 90 Charter Oak. It's my first time there and it was packed at the end of a dead end block, so be cautious parking in the back cause I almost got blocked in by all the people waiting for their food (there's lots of vendors operating out of here I believe). My food came out safely stapled in a bag and was still hot when I got home after a 30 minute car ride :) We ordered: - Nem Nuong Fresh Roll $9.95 - usually order this from vietnamese restaurants and this one was comparably yummy! Comes with 6 small pieces and a nice crunch - Chicken Satay Ayam $14.95 - comes with 4 skewers and buns and a yummy peanut dipping sauce - Tea Leaf Salad $14.95 - yummy and fresh tea leaf salad I usually order from Burmese restaurants - Massaman Beef Short Rib Curry $19.95 - this is one of my faves from here! The flavors are soo flavorful and the short rib was tender and fall off the bone. I loved this curry sauce! - Laksa Curry Pork Rib Noodle Soup $15.95 - this was a yummy noodle soup and the pork was tasty. It comes with way ramen noodles which are my fave type and reminds me of the authentic japanese noodles you get when ordering ramen from authentic japanese restaurants - Chicken Biryani Rice $14.95 - this one was another fave for me! The rice and chicken were flavorful and the sauce on the side was what put it over the top for me. I love sweet garlic sauce to this dish even though the dish itself was already tasty :p Highly recommend checking this place out and ordering for takeout (they deliver with Doordash and UberEats!)

Wow, I got their pork rib briyani, it was delicious! The pork ribs were literally fall off the bone tender. The briyani was flavorful, tho I do wish there's egg/vege added (like traditional briyani). It was basically flavored rice. Portion was also on the smaller side.

This new spot popped up on my Uber Eats page and I'm sooo glad I gave it a try. I ordered the Massaman Curry short rib and the Massaman Curry chicken. Both were delicious and filling high quality dinners. Presentation was on point and the flavors were delicious. The short rib fell off the bone and was super tender and moist. The chicken was a whole leg that came with roti that I could dip in that awesome curry. The curry itself was rich and had chunks of carrot and peanuts in it. The roti was chewy and crispy. Overall this spot was great and I would definitely order from them again!

First time ordering from this place after reading the Yelp reviews. Both chicken curry and laksa with ribs are so yummy! I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes south Asian food. I'll order again soon!

I had the beef short rib curry, expecting some little chunks, but it was a whole giant bone-in short rib, and it was delicious! Fall off the bone tender, it was awesome. I also had the pork fresh rolls that came with a sauce from heaven! All I can say is "thank you! I will be back!"

My short rib was fall off the bone for my rice, but not the soup noodle version. Laksa is too much flavor for me, husband likes it. Curry is yummy. Food was about 10 minutes late but it was dinner time so maybe they were busy. Might try the chicken or pork curry rice next time.

To get the best optimal experience at Khao Tiew, please remember to put your name on the waitlist and to get there on time when your party is close in queue (if you're not there, you're square, no expectations since they have tons of people waiting). I came here on a Monday night with my friend and I put my name down on the waitlist around 5 pm on the yelp app (heads up you have to be one mile away to be applicable to put your name down). Since I have been here before I know the deal and expected the wait. We were seated around 6:40 pm but it was so worth it in our opinions. The shop itself has a good amount of tables with a nice retro Thai feel from its decor. The servers are very nice and friendly but also the food comes out super quick which is what I personally appreciate as well. Here are some highlights from our absolute feast that we demolished (no food was left behind or forgotten). * Nuer nam tok: The medium rare beef was chewy, had the right amount of spice, and paired well with the crunch of the herbs. The saltiness of the meat ate well with the fresh sides of lettuce and cucumbers. * Crispy shrooms with ground pork: The crispy mushrooms were my favorite last time and the version with ground pork was exceptional. The mushrooms had a nice light batter and the sauce coated your mouth with an umami punch. * Drunken noodles: I love the amount of shrimp and calamari they gave! The noodles itself were coated in a semi sweet sauce that had a delicious soy flavor. * Duck curry: WOW the most tender duck dish I ever had, no notes! * Kaya jam with coconut ice cream: Creamy, fluffy, and a great way to end a meal. This dish is so hard to explain in words, you have to get it. Overall, amazing spot, amazing find, would wait 2 hours again for a third time :)

There is a lot of egg that soaks up the broth. A lot of calamari and good amount of shrimp. Gaeng Kamin Ped, duck breast tumeric curry. This was really good. Curry was creamy and thick. The duck was cooked well. Pad Maa - kaeue- stir fried Chinese eggplant. The sauce with this was really good and went well with the tender eggplants. Both are rum-based and had a really nice kick, especially the Soi Ari with the pandan in the aftertaste (which we found super refreshing). Food we ordered were the Nam Tok Beans, the Pad Khee Mao, and the rabbit curry. Both of us love spice so the Nam Tok Beans blew us away! Did not expect that kind of packed flavor at all but it makes a seemingly ordinary bean dish so much more exciting. The noodles were cooked perfectly and made a great in between to the rabbit curry. Which speaking of, oh my god??? SUPER tender and fall off-the-bone. Rabbit can be a hard dish to put on for people who have never tried it, but I really appreciate that it's not as bone-y as other rabbit dishes I've had in the past. It really was like chicken but softer. Wow wow wow. Huge shoutout to our bartender for giving us extra birthday shots on the house. Never had Amaro before tonight but it was delicious. Did not get his name unfortunately but he's fantastic! The reason I give 4 stars despite the great experience was because I noticed less urgency from the host and the servers in terms of getting stuff out. Doesn't help that the place is smaller and more expensive for a Michelin star establishment. Sitting by the bar made a huge difference for us since we had a great experience with our bartender, but I have a feeling that those at regular tables that night might've lost patience with the wait times for certain dishes. TLDR: if you love spicy Thai food, have the money to spend, and aren't in a rush, this place is worth checking out.

The rice was crispy on the bottom, and it was nice that the server mixed the dish for me on the table. I would definitely come back to try other dishes! We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish.
