This place was really busy on a nice Saturday. The service was very good and attentive. Our server Enrique had a nice loud voice so we could hear over the crowd. The restaurant is open to the street and the kitchen is behind glass so the atmosphere was really nice. The food was all fresh and good. The chicken avocado salad had smoky bacon in it and was delicious. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.

What a great scene at night. Love the ambience, crowd buzz, and style of this place. Casual but upscale if that makes sense. Good idea to have a reservation. Open for coffee breakfast lunch and dinner. The pineapple Thai basil non alcoholic was quite the treat. Harvest bowl was phenomenal. Grilled vegetables galore-portobello, cauliflower, snap peas, sweet potato, artichoke, avocado, quinoa grains, and more. The sea bass dish was a tad underwhelming due to small portion and the crust was overbearing. Dessert was delicious and a wonderful way to wrap up a wonderful meal experience overall

Happy find!! Originally the hubby and I wanted to try a restaurant down the street. However, they switched to reservations only for the day. So we looked up nearby restaurants and found The Henry. So glad we did. Our first time here and it won't be our last.... The hostess was very kind and welcoming. She took our name down right away. We waited under 10 minutes to be seated. We opted to sit inside. Very nice vibe. Our waiter Enrique was AMAZING. Super attentive and a true asset to this restaurant. Our food came out quickly. Everything was so flavorful. You could really taste the quality. The hubby even got a tea to go. TOP NOTCH!! What we ordered & shared: * Grilled & Chilled Shrimp * Short Rib Potstickers * Roasted Turkey French Dip w/ Salad #DiningWithTheAndersons #HappyFind #TryingNewPlaces #WithTheHubby #SoYummy

Crispy tuna special roll...delicious!

We had a beautiful lunch at The Henry. Great table on the patio. We had a reservation, which was needed on a busy weekend. Our party shared their crispy tuna appetizer, a Caesar salad with salmon and the burger. All got two thumbs up. Next time we are on Coronado, we'll return.

I was so sad that this place did not shine honestly! I came here with coworkers in town for a work event and we were so excited to try this place! The menu has a good selection and a few gluten free items all clearly marked which is appreciated! The server was friendly and we were seated right away which I always appreciate when I have a reservation! The vibes are lovely very fun atmosphere but the sea breeze does get a tad cold in the evening so be warned if you sit on the patio! Onto the food. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and their chicken dish for my meal. The shrimp was good nothing special and honestly saved my meal a bit. The chicken I ordered was so dry! The sauce wasn't my favorite but the dry chicken just was terrible to try and eat. My chicken came with fries that were good just very very salty. Honestly I wouldn't be back and at the premium prices you're paying while being on Coronado island there's other places I'd much rather go.

Visited this spot three times during our visit. It was so good. Two times were for coffee and smoothie and one time for dinner. The service is on point! Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Emilio (manager), Enrique(server) and Mark (server). They were all excellent! Enjoyed both the wildflower and matcha drinks I ordered. Everything is so fresh! My husband loved his Sprouts and Squash either salmon. I tried a bite and it was delish! Not gonna lie - I grabbed more than a bite. The Wagyu cheeseburger was cooked just right. I'm not usually a fan of sauces, but the sauce on this burger was A+! Emilio, the manager, found out we were from Indy and gave us some Fox group restaurants in our area. Needless to say we'll be there! The vibe is very nice with the greens and creams and brassy gold. It reminds me of Ralph's coffee shops - only bigger and better!

Avocado toast. Fried eggs. Bacon. OJ.

The Henry was 10/10. Food was fresh and delicious; I had avocado toast with two over medium fried eggs and bacon plus fresh squeezed OJ. Then I took the fruit danish and a hazelnut latte to go. Highly recommend the avo toast and fruit danish! The service at the bar was top notch, and I appreciated the ambience and hostesses' attentiveness as well.

Valentine's Day 2025 Pre-Fixe menu $85/pp
Rana R.

Better late than never- this review is solely for the pre-fixe menu offered at the Henry on Valentine's Day 2026. The Henry has been a staple in Coronado for a while and this is the first time we've tried it. It didn't disappoint! The vibes were high on Valentine's Day & although we had to wait a little longer than expected with reservations, it didn't kill the mood. All staff members were smiling and were nice. Our waiter was equally as nice & helpful with our menu questions. The Henry offered a 3 course pre-fix menu priced at $85 a person which is a great deal since other restaurants were offering the same for $100+ a person. Their menu offered a lot of the faves from their regular menu per our waiter. Even if it was a pre-fixe menu, there were a lot choices! Felt like their entire menu was on there, which was appreciated. It was lively out in the patio, but not annoyingly so. Wasn't as "romantic" as I expected, maybe cause there were a couple of TVs to the side of us. First dishes we tried were: Smoked Salmon & Caviar 5/5 Perfect app to start with, very shareable. Also had the Short Rib Potstickers and those were perfect as well! The sauce was the difference. Main dishes we tried were the Braised Short Rib & the Chateau Filet "Oscar Style" [Additional $20]. The Braised short Rib's sauce (kind of like the pot stickers) were really good. That's what set this Short Rib apart from the other ones I've tried. I didn't get tired of it while the mushrooms were such a happy surprise (cause I didnt read the menu) lol The Filet was good in it's own right. Kinda weird how they cut it though. The cuts were not proportioned at all. Not sure if that was a technique, but it just looked weird. Cooked medium-ish. The center was a little undercooked, but everything else was fine. For dessert, we chose the lemon olive oil cake - ah this one was soooo stinking good, I finished it all! That's surprising because the dessert was a full on dish. Thought we'd only get a portion since it was a 3 course meal, but nope, it was a full dessert. My lady had the Chocolate Fudge Pie which again was really good in it's own right, but my dessert was better :) The Henry is a great restaurant. Will come back to try their brunch! The parking situation can get a little tedious, but other than that no complaints here. Thanks for a great evening yall!

Really like The Henry, no complaints whatsoever. Service is always good, food is also amazing with lots of diverse flavors. Restaurants itself is beautiful and on a very nice street. Would love to come back!

We were going to another spot on our places to try list. They were reservations only. So we looked at what was nearby. Stumbled upon a true hidden gem in my opinion. As not only was the food amazing, our server Enrique was very attentive and his food recommendations on point. Everything we had was so good Can't wait to come back to try some of there delicious desserts. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

This is one of the prettiest places I have been to in a while. Food & Drink: We were here for brunch, and their brunch menu did not disappoint. I absolutely love their Avocado tasks, simple yet flavorful. The umami Brussels sprouts were the star of the table, though. Ambiance: This place is very beautiful with the big doors that let you peek onto the street. Very spacious with enough space between tables. Definitely all the feels of an upscale spot. Service: We walked in for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Since they had a wait to get seated we opted to sit at the bar. The bartender ho srved us seemed a bit snobbish but every other peorson the staff was delightful to talk to and work with. In-all: This place has all the vibe and good food. Cannot wait to get back and try their dinner menu.

We celebrated a birthday at The Henry in Coronado and had a great experience. The restaurant feels super cute and thoughtfully designed. Every corner looks intentional, clean, and welcoming. Service stood out most. Friendly, attentive, and well paced without hovering. Food tasted fresh and the flavors were on point. Portions felt on the smaller side for the price, so expect to spend more than you might for what lands on the table. Still, for a special occasion, the vibe and service made the visit feel worth it. Good pick for birthdays, date nights, or any celebration where you want a polished setting and strong hospitality.

My wife and I had gifted my parents this past Christmas with an experiential gift where our gift was to take them anywhere they wanted to go to eat lunch or dinner, grab dessert, and hang out with us while we serve as their Uber. If you know my parents, which I've been blessed to know for 55+ years, they don't care where we take them out and would have been happy just hanging out at their house. Since my parents aren't picky, we decided to take them to our son and his girlfriend's fave restaurant The Henry. Both of them swear by The Henry, so we chose The Henry because we knew our boy and his suitor would love to join us too. This was my wife and my first time dining here and now I know why The Henry is our son's fave. It's a classy restaurant in a beautiful town, the customer service was good, and the food was amazing. 4.5 Stars!!! The Henry is located on Coronado Island and can be reached either by taking the Coronado Bridge or driving down the Silver Strand making sure that you're on the main drag Orange Avenue. The restaurant is between C Avenue and 10th Street, it is just south of Clayton's Coffee Shop, on the same side as Bay Books and Moo Time ice cream, next to Francaise, and it's across the street from Geppetto's. Parking is mainly street parking, so you might have to park far especially on the weekend. Highly suggest you make reservations because The Henry is a popular restaurant. There is plenty of seating at the restaurant and it can easily accommodate large groups. You can either sit inside or sit outside and people watch. The outdoor round tables are made of marble, there's outdoor umbrella seating, there is high top tables, bar seating, indoor booth seating, and indoor wooden high top tables with leather seats. The decor is modern and old school at the same time with a beautiful painted mural, a wall of framed pics, black and white pics, decorative light fixtures, and an open kitchen that you can peep through a glass partition. The staff is friendly and our server provided good service, but I wished he checked on us more often. Our reservation was at 11:30am, so we were eating during the brunch and lunch hour. The menu included brunch choices, appetizers, salads, and entrees. Since this dining excursion was a Christmas gift for my parents, we wanted to make this special for them. For our appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and the Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. The spicy tuna & crispy rice comes with fresno chile, avocado, cilantro, scallion, and sweet soy. That was really fresh and tasty, but know that it only comes with 5 pieces, so order double for a party of six or more. The pretzels & provolone fondue come with large round balls of pretzels that you dip in the cheesy fondue. I really enjoyed that appetizer because of the hearty round pretzels and when dipped, they were really yummy. The star of my meal was my entree, which was the Wagyu Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, charred onion, white cheddar, american cheese, henry sauce, and fries. The bread is a toasted bun and when I took my very first bite, I knew I was going to enjoy it. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and with that first bite, I can tell that The Henry serves quality food, which was evident by that burger and the two appetizers we consumed. The fries were delectable as well and when dipped in the provided house made ranch, my entire entree was delicious. It truly was a blessing to spend quality time with my family. The Henry was a great restaurant that my wife and I were able to treat my parents for their Christmas gift and I benefitted as well from a memorable meal.

The food is good I guess. The wagyu taco had a nice flavor and the greens with the sauce made it work. I don't think it's actually wagyu, but the word is pretty much meaningless at this point. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. Even after most of the plate, I noticed I didn't find it too salty. I really like the menus in the crappy brown folders. I think they might've also done it because it's easy and cheap, but it works well with the aesthetic they have.

I'll review our dinner and then post the brunch review in a few days! First, the view is gorgeous. The Marriott Coronado has a gorgeous piece of real estate, facing the bay, the Coronado Bridge, and downtown San Diego. Dinner, Valentine's Day: VDay could be a big disaster but it went pretty smoothly. They had a 3-course prix fixe menu (plus an amuse & a glass of sparkling wine) as a special, or you could do their bar menu. Oscar was our server and he did a great job keeping us updated about how the kitchen was doing. Our drinks came pretty fast. I got a DAITIKI: cutwater tiki rum, lime juice, simple syrup & angostura bitters. I asked for it light on the simple - and it was a pretty impressive cocktail. Really well balanced, with a lot of different flavors going on. Yes & yes on this! Appetizers: I got their brussel sprouts with lime and honey glaze and marcona almonds. WOW! This was a wow dish. HUGE and fabulous brussel dish, for $16, with this view. Now I'm getting excited! We also got the guacamole which was good, though underseasoned. Entrees: my sweetie got one of the bowls (baja?) with carne asada added and liked it. I got a veggie burger - not yummy! Very weird patty, not tasty. However, the fries that came with it were good. SO... I had a great cocktail, a giant portion of exceptional brussel sprouts, and a bad veggie burger. Could be worse! Wine: I also got a glass of the JLohr Pure Paso red blend, which was very nice. Leathery but not too heavy. For dessert, Oscar advised us that we could order individual dishes from the prix fixe, and that dessert would be much faster if we ordered the Valentine's desserts instead of the desserts they usually serve. And yes, they came out immediately. Deconstructed strawberry shortcake. Flavors were good. Shortbread was a little dry, but very nicely seasoned. I liked the consistently of the chocolate mousse tulip, but found the tulip part (chocolate shell) very bland, not that interesting to eat too. Overall, some parts of our dinner were exceptional, the kitchen can be slow... and don't order the veggie patty! Otherwise this is a great place to come and enjoy our gorgeous city and have some yummy bites or drinks, and with very nice heaters. Thanks, Oscar and the team!

Food: We had a few options like always. I mean why not right! We started with * Tempura Rock Shrimp - this was crazy good. I did not expect the flavors to punch me in the mouth like it did. Crispy, light batter, the glaze and toppings really made it a phenomenal appetizer. I would highly recommend this dish. It is small in quantity but if feeds 2 people easily. * Crab Cakes - the crab cakes are good they do have a nice crispy texture on the outside but the inside is tender and packed with your normal Crab Cakes flavors. Not a bad choice. It was fresh and the portions are above average. * Balboa Rolll - somehow this roll with so many different flavors and textures went so well together. Cuddos to the chef for this one. The scallions on top changed the entire roll. I really loved this one. Would definitely order it again. Portion size was larger than the average roll. * Overstuffed Bacon & Eggs - this one was crazy!! It's literally a tower of deviled egg yoke with bacon, bits of celery and paprika on top. This was my least favorite only because the amount of yoke compared to the actual egg you get didn't add up. Once the egg is gone you're left with a mountain of egg yoke. It's way to much for my taste. The yoke also seemed a little dry and pasty. For deviled egg lovers this is a dream come true. * Skirt Steak & Eggs - wife said it was really good and the red chimichiri complimented the steak just right. The portions were large, the steak was juicy and cooked perfecrly to her request. With skillet fried smahed potatoes and toasted buttered bread. Very good option for steak lovers. Service: The staff was great from the check-in booth to the waiter everyone did such a great job and was so polite. I couldn't help notice that everyone was smiling and super helpful. Atmosphere: It's an ocean side restaurant or should I say on the ocean restaurant with wall to wall windows showing the ocean and the beautiful San Diego landscape. Really enjoyed the area and activities. Price: The appitizers were above average prices but hey!! Totally worth it. It ranged from $16-$30 per dish, its really not too bad for the quality of food and service. Location: It's located in Seaport Village which has so many different places to try and plenty of businesses to walk and find some really cool things. Parking: It's a pay to park lot but we found parking fairly easy but it is pricey to park there. I think we paid $24 for a couple of hours.
