I've been here a few times now and really enjoyed the first experience but my last two weren't so great. The service was poor and we had to ask other servers for help. When I walked in with a reservation which they said I needed, nobody greeted us and several people walked out from the kitchen and back in. My wife and I went here the other night. We had heard that it opened for indoor dining. We had always heard about it. I had the ahi tuna for appetizer which was amazing. My wife had the jumbo shrimp which was good. I had the fillet Mignon cooked good. The meat flavor wasn't the best. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were not good at all. Wow! I just got back from having lunch at the Heights, and I am really impressed. This totally exceeds any expectations I'd have for a restaurant up in this neck of the woods. First off, the food was really good. My dad ordered a veggie burger and I had the Tuscan Chicken sandwich. Veggie burgers can be like wood sometimes, but this one was so tender and delicious, and to top it off, it came with some chipotle mayo that really gave it a kick. My own sandwich was also excellent. It was served on warm ciabatta bread with spring greens, cheese, tomato, and some pesto mayo. As for the location, it's in a nice shopping center off the 210 freeway and the restaurant has very nice views of the valley below towards and the south and west. It also looks like there's a banquet room towards the back, ideal for an evening family gathering. Staff here are really friendly and seem to know what they're talking about. Prices are reasonable, and the menu has some great selections, like seared ahi tuna salad, chicken salad on a croissant, several burgers, and other house specialties. Drink prices aren't bad, either. Mehhh Little Bit and I went on Monday for a quick lunch after we dropped off her Dad (my ex-hubby) we were starving! So she wanted to try out this place. I think it is a happening spot in the evenings for drinks and Happy Hour. Located at the top of Campus next to Bed, Bath and Beyond in the Crossroads Parkway Center it faces Campus. Nice clean interior a LOT of light, service was attentive and nice (although the young Male server kept referring to us as girls... which apparently ticked Christyl (Lil Bit) off LMAO!! I had ordinary Coconut Shrimp with a Orange Marmalade dipping sauce (we serve these at the Convention Center but for added 'kick' I have our Chef put Horseradish in the mix) and Lil Bit had a Cobb Salad. My thirst was quenched by a nice Newcastle and we were good to go. Service was quick order came up quick but it wasn't anything earth shattering. I've been here before with a friend for Happy Hour and it has it's share of single attractive people roaming through so if you live in this area and that is what you are looking for. We were regulars for 15yrs and tonight we went at 415pm went to sit at table in bar area since their were empty 2 empty tables & were told we couldn't sit there without reservations. we asked for the Mgr. Who didn't care and was rude about it. We go there every Friday night without reservations and we loved the food, drinks & staff and we're treated so poorly. We will now never go back! In today's Shameless Foodie post, Domestic Diva is venturing a bit further east than usual, to The Heights Restaurant and Bar in Upland! Why Upland, you may ask? Well, growing up in Rancho Cucamonga, there are a lot of chain restaurants. We have one (or five) of everything you could want, but not a lot of mom-and-pop places. The Heights is owned by the same people behind the classic 50s diner the Village Grille in the Claremont Village, so you know it has to be good! I've heard good things about the nightlife/bar scene here. So for my 24th birthday, my parents decided to take me out to dinner here. I like the spot, and especially the view up on the top of the hill in Upland. It was a Monday night, so pretty deserted, and we got a table right away. We started with the spinach dip and it was AMAZING. I'm very very picky about spinach dip - it's so easy to screw it up. But I was pleasantly surprised with The Heights' spinach dip (and the homemade pico it comes with) and I had to be careful not to spoil my appetite on it! For my entree, I ordered the southwest salad. It was HUGE and full of black beans, tomatoes, corn, red onions, cheese and tortilla strips. And the ranch was great. My only complaint is that they didn't have the greatest selection of craft/draft beer...I ended up getting a wheat beer. The beer is more low-end than places in LA offer. My mom ordered the chicken sandwich with French fries and my dad had the Asian salad. They both liked them so much they said they would come back and order the same things again! I'd let to say we have been coming here for 6 years. It was AWESOME. Great food great atmosphere great cocktails. Since Covid that has changed significantly. Limited service seating and menu. I even tried to call in orders and they couldn't give me an accurate assessment of how long it would take to make a take out order. Disappointing! I recently went in for lunch when no one was there and told that the issue was there was no one that could come in and help in the kitchen which I get. We had dinner there this evening. They ribeye steak $39 was cooked extremely poorly Marsala was awful and my two kids mac and cheese came out caked in nacho sauce instead of the normal white cheese we were very disappointed. They tried to remedy with butter sauce and meat sauce which was less to be desired. We normally stay for dessert and take leftovers but tonight after spending $174 for the meal it's safe to say we won't be back for a long time after being supporters for many years. 3 1/2 stars, are you kidding me? I now understand why. Although, I'm giving 4 stars. While the food is essentially very good and the service is great the menu is limited and never really changes. We've been supporting The Heights for nearly 11 years and we wish there were more options. The owner doesn't seem too concerned about the requests of his patrons, and their needs. Let us start with wanting a simple turkey burger or any other non-meat meals. Cheese lasagna, marinara spaghetti, clam sauce and Angel hair pasta etc. Having other options would be a nice change. They do not offer or seem concerned with expanding the menu to include a complete variety that would be very welcomed. Another thing, for the unvaccinated there doesn't seem to be any concern whatsoever. While they do provide outside dining they do not provide heaters. We're really satisfied with The Heights, I just wish they were more accommodating to us long time patrons. And I know a lot of people share my feelings. read more

Not a particular big fan of this place. It's very convenient, located right next to the various shops. That's all I can really compliment this place on. This particular time, my brother and I sat at the bar and ordered two tall IPA's (they don't have much on tap here and that bothers me). The beers each had a considerable amount of foam, bad pour! The bar is a fairly open area with two TVs. The staff I would be slightly concerned about. They don't appear to be friendly and happy to be there, maybe it was just this particular day or person. I believe it was from using dirty mildew dish towels cleaning the tables in the restaurant.. Our food was good along with service! We've been a regular customer since the restaurant opened. We've had bigger groups there and have enjoyed the experience. Until recently. The food has usually been very good. We have had more issues recently. There have been issues of the restaurant running out of desserts that my kids love. More recently, there have been a few other problems. We'll start with the restaurant allowing a magician to troll the tables for tips. I don't think that this is appropriate and we didn't appreciate being interrupted for his little show. The prices, like most places, have increased over time. Recently, I noted a sharp increase in a favorite of mine; the Filet Minion. The price jumped from $26 to $30. While the quality is certainly good, I was offended that the restaurant no longer offers steak sauce. While I use it sparingly on the the meat, I love it on the vegetables. The attitude of "the Chef doesn't think steak sauce necessary" is completely contrary to good customer service. If I want ketchup on my filet or another sauce, it is my choice and preference not the chef's. So, if you spend $30 for a steak and would like steak sauce... you should consider another restaurant. I certainly am at this point. I'll likely try them one more time, but will consider other restaurants instead. read more

To be honest, I this restaurant was so bad I downloaded yelp just to make this review. Starting with the menu, it was seriously lacking in diversity and flavor in general. The music and environment was somehow overwhelming and boring at the same time. They whole time they were blasting recycled pop radio music which was very off putting considering the decor, lighting, and general ambiance. One thing that I picked up was that the food was priced like a genuinely respectable restaurant, yet tasted like it could have been made at a cheap diner. The manager/owner situation was one of the worst parts, I remember sitting close to the host stand and he was being very unkind to his staff. At one point I asked to speak to him and never heard from anyone for the whole rest of the time. The only thing that slightly saved it was that the servers and hosts were very kind and accommodating. Says that they are open until 2am, so we went there and as we pull on the door one of the employees said they were close?? Mind this, it was only 9pm.
