Swung by after the World Cup game on July 7th. Like around 5 pm with a buddy of mine I haven't seen in a while. We only got drinks, but they were poured well and they had no problem swapping a television to baseball for my buddy. I have to say Denise and Rachel behind the bar and serving are pretty damn amazing. Incredibly welcoming and respectful. I don't think I saw a dirty dish in the entire restaurant. The vibes were great in the restaurant and still kept it cool enough despite the 95+ degree temperatures outside. 10/10 maybe 12/10. This place is located in lovely downtown upland and I've been meaning to try it. Today I finally was in the area for lunch and stopped by. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bar tender and asked if I wanted a food menu. The bar tender was very sweet and kind and I was able to have a very good conversation with her. The place feels very cozy and has a large selection of food and drinks. I went ahead and got the Hawaiian poke and it was an excellent choice. It's not a fine dining restaurant, I can't compare my expectations to theirs, especially as a Head Chef. But at the very least, the calamari can't taste like a well done steak that was reheated from a left over order. And the salad shouldn't be drenched in dressing, I might as well buy a bottle of Cesar Dressing and drink it out of a cup. Plus the shrimp didn't have any color in it - it looked like they took it from a shrimp cocktail and placed it on top of the salad with no effort, like it was some Nicoise Salad. Located in downtown Upland with a nice view of the mountains. We found parking easily on a Sunday morning, just out front. My friend goes here often and I was intrigued and tried their BBQ Bacon burger, which was standard and tasted great. My only issue is with the service. The girls seem to check on us at the wrong time or too late. Our waitress was always behind the bar talking with whoever was there and another server on the floor was too busy giving the old guys attention because that's probably where they're getting the most tip. It was also football Sunday so yeah, expect to be ignored if you're there for a meal and not to stay for the football games. There were two of us and we ordered a different sandwich and different fry type and when our plates arrived they paired our sandwiches with the other persons fries (I ordered curly fries, my friend ordered waffle) so we had to send it back to fix that and the fact that my friends sandwich had mushrooms on it and she hates mushrooms so whoever prepped the sandwich was just making it up. She frequents this place and always gets the same sandwich and it definitely doesn't have mushrooms in it. Overall, good food, not great service. read more

I'm not from the area, however I have a rental in upland. My experience wasn't the best, the food was okay , the bartender was very nice and the service was good. My michillida was amazing, however lots of drunk people in the bar area. One of the drunk men was an instigator banging on the women's restroom door and the girl coming out very upset thinking it was me. I told her I had nothing to do with the banging on the door and even after telling her she was very upset. It was a scary experience because I'm not used to this type of environment. The owner really needs watch how much alcohol is served to the customers. I will not be returning. I can't imagine what this place must look like at night! This is my go to lunch when I'm in the area. Their salads are extremely filling and they have a nice variety. I've noticed that the prices have gone up a bit in the past year or so. A few friends and I went last night and honestly got treated like absolute crap. I have never in my life received poorer service from BARTENDERS, plural they were both extremely rude. Not only did I feel they were rude to just my friends and I but I saw on multiple times them snap at the cooks and staff in the back on top of that roll their eyes when someone wanted their attention to close a tab. I do have to be honest, I came here like 4 years ago and it was amazing. This visit, however, was less than impressive. The waitress was very nice and she helped me out very quickly. Short pours and overcharges. We came in Sunday night and ordered 2 tall, double Ketel Sodas. Our usual. I watched the bartender pour our drinks and they were just BARELY over a normal single pour(thanks). I am a bartender of 10 years, I know my counts/measurements. I think to myself, she must not have heard me ask for a double - so, to avoid further problems I order a canned beer for my 2nd beverage. Fast forward to post food, I order another canned beer, my wife another of the same cocktail. Again I notice that this time she poured even less than the first. Free pouring is fallible, there are variances, but this was EXACTLY a single. So now I'm certain that she had mis heard me when I had asked for a double. She's pouring us singles. Totally fine, a miscommunication. We get the check, NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. We were charged for three doubles. We did not receive a single cocktail that we were charged for. this AFTER the bartender cautioned us to be careful getting home safety and to avoid cops. We live and walk a block away. You're going to chastise us for ordering a 3rd(me) and 2nd (my wife) round? God forbid I order three drinks over the course of an hour and a half on my Friday without being admonished. If you don't want to pour what we ask for. Tell us. If we gave you reason, coming in stone cold sober, to not want to serve us, do your job. Have the hard conversation, and tell us. Don't just think that you can pour something other than what we ordered and hope that it won't be noticed while you charge 1.75x the worth of what you poured. Me and my friend went there on a weekday because usually on the weekend its very packed. I'm not a drinker but I went for the food and I must say it was very good! The burger I had was amazing. Charbroiled flavor was impeccable and the service was good. The only thing that could have been better was the time it took to get served and refills on our drinks. But that's not anybody's fault. They only had one waitress which was covering the bar and the tables. She was great but I understand that she was the only one there. Other than that everything was perfect.
