I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how much better my experience at Hi brow was than I expected. I have lived in Upland for many years and I had heard it was not the best place to go. Last night I was leaving a nearby fast food restaurant and heard live music coming out of the Hi Brow - the band sounded great! We went in and ended up staying a few hours. It seems like there are a lot of regulars that know each other but they were all very friendly and welcoming. Anyway, we ended up staying for a few hours. The drinks were fabulous at a very reasonable price. The service was fantastic and the live music was great. If you are looking for a place to go with real people and an unpretentious vibe, you owe it to yourself to stop in. I hope they continue with live music because that is a big part of what really made it special. read more

Such an ironic name... I don't get it. No problem with the staff, just the people that are there. I just want to paint the image without being judgmental, but... Old, fat white people who look like they haven't taken a shower or changed their clothes in years wearing... not tanktops, but you know when you rip off the sides of a regular shirt? Like that. This is one dirty, nasty bar. It is poorly lit and sticky. It smells really bad. People are allowed to smoke in the bar which adds to its filthy, dingy, smelly atmosphere. there are often people over-served here and violence is common (NOT A SAFE BAR). Bathrooms don't get much worse than the ones here. It is baffling to me that this place is allowed to operate in its current condition. Save yourself from this experience there are plenty of other dive bars in the area that are safer, cleaner, and friendlier. This place is a dump. read more

Definition of a dive bar. Went here on Thanksgiving because the wife was out of town and it was the only place open to get a drink. Bloody Mary was meh. Bartender chick was super cool.
