Came here with friends to play some pool and have a drink. I was able to have both pretty easily and I was satisfied. Hi Brow is your standard dive. Its set way back in a shopping center. When all the other businesses are closed, the place looks deserted and it took a few extra minutes to find the bar. Drinks were cheap. It was $5 for a snake bite. The pool tables are only $1 a game, which is a nice change from the more expensive places that charge by the hour. Bring quarters though! A few negatives...the bartending wasn't too consistent. Service was great and she was very friendly and attentive. The drinks were just a little hit-and-miss. There's only one triangle and you have to go looking for it when you rack up another game. The music can get pretty loud sometimes too. If I wanted to shout to talk to people, I'd go to a club. All-in-all, Hi Brow is an alright place to spend some time. read more

The staffs and regulars here are all very nice. Normal game would find in common bar. The Billard table are quarter. $1 a game. Free Billard game every Monday. Table is not perfect and it is very common. Bartender make good drink. Restroom is small and not 100% clean but not bad. There is a table area for smoking. Have not seen any fight/conflict or anyone throw up at this place. Highly recommend place to just chill. read more

This location is much cleaner and nicer that the Pomona one. Music wasn't blaring, so it was nice background and you could have a conversation. You usually need to go to the bar to order. Drinks are strong and cheap- Greyhound was heavy on the vodka with a grapefruit juice float for about $4. Stella draft pint was $5. Plenty of parking. read more

Came here on a Saturday night with friends and there was a surprising amount of people there. Got served immediately when we sat down and ordered a bottled Coors light and some cocktails. It's a dive bar. Take it for what it is. The bartenders are cool. People smoke in there and you will leave there smelling like a human ash tray. They do have stuff on tap you wouldn't think they have (ie: cider, Guinness, Newcastle...) . They have 5 pool tables, darts, golf and bowling arcade games. My friend and I went there because we were told the Hi Brow had good burgers. We order from the short blonde bartender at 7pm on Christmas. She said there are no burgers and then she took our drinks back after I explained that the bartender with long hair pigtails said that we could have food. This was the craziest thing ever. read more

Ok. Lets be honest, and lets call a spade a spade. This bar is a late night staple, last stop kinda place. We live close by so its comforting to know we have less than a mile to get home, so if we get TOTALLY JACKED out of our minds, we can walk home if need be. I've never had issues with non-friendly folks here, but I've seen some fights, so obviously people arnt fans of everyone. This is a bit of a rowdy crowd, but what do you expect, if you can come to a bar in freakin sweat pants and not feel underdressed. Like I said before, its a last stop. The drinks are STRONG and CHEAP ($4 bucks for a well whiskey that seems to be 2.5 oz) We keep coming back (but not expecting anything but to get drunk) haha. read more

Been coming here on and off for years. As with any dive bar, you'll have some great bartenders and a few not amazing ones. I'd say that this place is above average in that regard. Pros: rarely crowded but never empty, newly remodeled, stiff drinks, best prices in the area and if you're friendly, you'll get smiles and conversations in return. Cons: no food-food, though there are Damned good breakfast burritos available at a little drive through in same parking lot. *Shout-out to the Sunday-Tuesday bartender, Chris. The bar is a great place, The one bartender that worked serving away from the bar is a very beautiful that just adds to the place, I'm from the south so this place is not a normal Californian bar. People in California have a awkward view of what a bar should be. A bar should be where people are friendly. I give this bar a A+++. This bar has real people who are the working class of the USA. I saw no problem with this place at all .The new jukebox is great, you can pick a song from anywhere. This is the best bar in upland and possibly the entire IE. All of the bartenders are the ultimate, the booze is cheap and they have a rad smoking room. I love everything about this place. I would move into their bathroom if that was an option. read more

This bar is as good as it gets -- on its own terms. It's a dive bar. It's not expensive. It's not fancy. It's not a place to take the in-laws or anyone you want to impress (on conventional terms). This will horrify most of you -- it lets people smoke. But it's got a happy vibe, and it's also got tons of character. It has an interesting mix of college kids, 40-year-old partyers, "Grease" era wanna-bes, urban toughs, darts and pool players, sports fans, etc. It has an unusually eclectic jukebox. The main bartender, Adam, is mellow, funny, cool, smart, just a great guy. If you'd rather go to TGIF, good for you. But if you're interested in a downscale version of "Cheers" crossed with a rowdy college pub, give the Brow a chance. Both locations are fun but I prefer the Upland location. And Jill, the bartender is the absolute best! John's a sweetie too! I've only been here a handful of times, but the more I go, the more I realize that my usual watering hole ( The Winner's Circle) is a POS! =) The patrons as well as the tenders are the absolute best! When I first walked in it seemed empty but that all changed in like 2min. Very fun atmosphere, sometimes they have a local band come play very entertaining.
