ACES CORNER LOUNGE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! First of all... THE CATFISH NUGGETS?! Baby, they were FIRE! Crispy, seasoned perfectly, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I could seriously come back just for those! But the whole experience was top-tier. The waitresses were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The ambience was such a vibe--cool, relaxed, grown, and welcoming. You can come in, enjoy yourself, eat good food, and just have a good time. If I could give it 0 stars then I would. Let's start off with the wait for some wings and fries... after 47 minutes of waiting I finally asked what's going on with my order. I was then asked by the same person who took my order (the one in the full body suit)... "what did you order?" I guess they were pretty forgetful because they were too busy taking shots & drinking beer on the job. She came back and told me it would be 7 minutes.. after waiting a total of 13 extra minutes the food finally came out and I immediately asked for a to go bin and ranch. I watched her bring out the ranch and give to the people across from us so I waited a good 5 minutes more and she finally brought the ranch out. We ate the food in the car and let me just say that the only good thing was and seasoned fries. The wings were like a salt pan and had to be thrown away. Drinks were good. When we tried to order more we were told to "give her a second" and she never ended up coming back to place the order with us. The music was great! Aces Corner Lounge gives me major Margarita Rocks vibes from back in the day, and if you know, you KNOW! It has that same fun energy where you can grab some good food and drinks, hear good music, and end up staying way longer than you planned. The food is bomb, customer service is top tier, the events have been high quality, and brunch ALL DAY on Sundays is a major plus. A lot of people may remember the location as Leo's Corner, but Aces has definitely created its own vibe. Upland needed a spot like this! read more

Poor customer service, rude staff, and completely unprofessional This evening 8-15-26, my friends and I came here because we wanted to have some food and a drink. We remembered this place from when it was Leo's and had always associated it with great service, so we decided to give it a try again. When we arrived, the host asked if we had tickets. We explained that we did not and that we simply wanted to eat and have a drink on the patio. The host told us that was no problem and said, "We will have a server come out to you." We sat down, and our server was attentive. She took our drink and food orders, and everything seemed fine. Once our drinks arrived, however, security approached us and made a big issue about the fact that alcohol was not permitted on the patio. We explained that our server had brought the drinks to us at the outside table. Security spoke with the hosts, who apparently also believed that it was okay. Then a woman with red hair approached our table. She did not introduce herself, but immediately spoke to us in an extremely condescending and scolding manner, asking who told us we could have drinks outside and how we even got seated at the table. She told us that we needed to take our drinks inside. My friend asked whether that meant we would have to purchase tickets to enter the event, and she said yes. I explained that we had specifically told the host we were only there to have a small dinner and a round of drinks. Instead of acknowledging the obvious communication failure among their staff, she continued explaining the "technicalities" of their policy to us. The problem was not that there was a policy. The problem was that your own staff failed to communicate that policy consistently. If alcohol is not permitted on the patio, the host should have told us that before seating us, and the server should never have brought the drinks outside. At one point, the host/manager offered to pay for our round of drinks. We declined. We weren't looking for free drinks or compensation. At that point, we were simply completely turned off by the way the situation had been handled. What was even more unprofessional was watching this woman call our server out in front of us, telling her that alcohol was not permitted on the patio and taking the drinks from her. The server had done exactly what she was instructed to do. The issue was clearly a lack of communication and training--not the server's fault. We ultimately asked them to cancel our food order. We had not even consumed our drinks. We simply got up and left. A business can have whatever policies it wants, but those policies need to be clearly communicated to both customers and staff. Customers should not be scolded or treated disrespectfully because employees were not on the same page. Unfortunately, what we remembered as a place with great service when it was Leo's was not the experience we had tonight. Skip this place, you aren't missing out. read more

First impressions will always be the ones that matter the most. Ace's you kinda failed. This past Saturday it was my first time and very possibly my last. Yeah, sure, there was a special event going on and the house was packed. Good for you. Not good for all patrons. Waiting for a bottled beer 23 minutes is way too long. One bartender at the only bar inside for a spot this big with such a crowd is bad business. People started to walk out. That's terrible for business! If I was the owner I'd be mortified. In this economy, losing business by the minute is "no bueno." Yes, the only bartender had a good attitude. Thank goodness! But cmon...... He confirmed it was just him as the bartender. (Excluding waiters) no bar back person either. He felt bad, he gave me a free beer. I didn't have food. I saw other people eating what looked like nachos and they kinda, sorta looked gross. Good music. Okay crowd, and sure packed, but whatever happened to dress code, which didn't seem to matter here on this specific nite, that's what I mean by OKAY CROWD. The bathrooms were disgusting. No janitor in sight. It's a big place. Good location. Upland doesn't have a lot of spots like this one. But try harder to do better. Now you know...... read more

I always give places the benefit of the doubt, which is why I've been here three times--once in 2026 and twice in 2025. Every single visit has been boring and practically empty. Charging an entry fee for a place that's consistently dead is honestly crazy to me. What bothers me even more is the false advertising on Instagram. They post videos and photos that make it look packed and full of energy, but when you actually show up, it's the complete opposite. Ok, I really liked this place, it's very fun and has a lively vibe. It gets a good crowd on the weekends too. Holly is a great bartender she's really friendly and tends to all well. I went a for an event a few weeks ago and the bartenders were very slow and would help people they knew more than who was next. Never had any food. It was just a club for the evening.
