Decorations as of 9/9/23. Part of the Spirit Lounge Season
    Jennifer H.

A secret speakeasy location inside That 80s bar! This bar will change up season to season so there will always be reasons to check it out multiple times. Currently it's Spirit Lounge. Later into the year the plan is The Frost. They are brand new!! Having opening weekend later in September. Check their website for dates and times as a reservation is needed to enter. 8pm,10pm and 12am are the three time slots and being opening Thursday to Sunday. With your reservation here, you can get $5 off entry into the 80s bar itself if there is a cover charge that day. The theme for this season is spooky Halloween. Almost have a vintage feel to it all. It was a soft opening so bare in mind what you see exactly in the photos, may be different once first opening day is here. There is a variety of cocktails available to purchase (2 drink minimum) during your 2 hour slot. The old fashion comes in cute decor, Sinster Swine has an aroma bubble, and there is even a drink that comes in a light bulb! Included in your reservation is a show that changes up so don't worry if you want to come multiple times and fear it will all be the same. Check in process: As of now you park across the street in the lot nearby and try to arrive 30 minutes before your time. You will check in at the front desk for that 80s bar. Let them know you are here for the speakeasy and most likely they will already show you the menu of for drinks that way your first drink is ready when your time slot has arrived. They will then lead you into the secret way to the speakeasy. I will keep that a secret as it was such a cool experience not knowing what to expect. Again this is their first time doing a speakeasy so be mindful of that and surely embrace things might not run 100% smoothly the first week or so as they learn what works and what doesn't. There are new ideas being added as we speak! Taking account the decor they have. With a successful season, the next theme is planned to be an 80s ski lounge vibes. Cheers!!

My husband and I checked out the spooky speakeasy inside the 80's bar. This exceeded my expectations by far! I highly recommend checking it out, and can't wait to come back in January when it changes to a ski lodge theme. Upon entering through a secret entrance, you are transported to a spooky living room of sorts adorned with LED displays all over the room. From creepy changing portraits on the walls to the ceiling crawling with creepy crawlers, the ambiance was very well done. We were seated at the bar where we got to witness the artists at work crafting well thought out drinks. We got to talk a lot to the head bartender who was the mastermind behind the cocktails and you can feel his passion behind every ingredient poured into them. My husband loved his old fashioned, smoked right in front of us and the Kong drink was his favorite. I loved the festers bulb which comes with an edible flower that numbs your mouth. So fun! You should definitely check this place out! Great date night or time out with friends!

Drinks - Fester's Buzz Bulb and Bone on the Beach

Went for Macrabre Manor last week to celebrate a birthday and had a blast! You check in for your reservation outside of the bar, then they let your party inside a few groups at a time. We were let into a back room that was decorated with cool props, moving photos, and there was a scare actor walking around. They also had a magician who went to every table to do magic and card tricks which was super fun and unexpected. As far as the drinks go, they were on the pricier side (about $20 per drink), but they were really strong, tasted good, and some were even interactive. My last drink had a small flower that you would eat to change the flavor of the cocktail. The bartenders were busy so it took a few minutes for someone to take our order, but it's because you could also order and pay online right from your table. They have a small cash discount if you order at the bar though, so keep that in mind! The whole experience was a little under 2 hours, which was more than enough time. Overall, it was a fun experience that I would love to do again soon.

This was formerly Citrus Grove before it was taken over by the current owners. I enjoyed Citrus Grove just as much, and I am happy that Evolve doesn't make me miss it. My favorite drinks are their take on the White Russian and their White Hokkaido. The White Russian is special because they add pistachio, and it's just fantastic! The White Hokkaido is the matcha version, so instead of the coffee liquor, they use matcha, and it's delightful! They often have live jazz, which makes the place fun, though often on jazz nights, they require advance reservations or ticket purchase. Other nights are more quiet and perfect for a relaxed outing. They don't have any food, but there are often food vendors at the brewery across the way, and you can bring your own. I also enjoy that I can bring my dog with me, since I often visit after drinks at the brewery or the ciderie next door (both of which are dog-friendly).

The ambiance was absolutely on point, perfect for date night or even just hanging out with friends. It had that sweet spot of feeling upscale without being stuffy, and the prices were actually really reasonable. The food? So good from start to finish. We started with the baked brie appetizer, and wow... so good. It came with whole roasted garlic baked right on top and crostinis, and it was honestly the perfect way to start the meal. My husband got the steak au poivre (which I recommended, obviously), and it did not disappoint. I ordered the beetroot salad with added chicken and wow... to die for. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and just felt really well done. The wine selection was also really nice, and I had the Opolo wine, which was delicious. What really topped it off was the sweet birthday surprise at the end. They brought me a little scoop of ice cream with "Happy Birthday," which was such a thoughtful touch. I honestly don't even know how they knew, maybe my husband was being sneaky, but it made the night feel extra special. Great food, great wine, live music, amazing ambiance, and thoughtful service. Highly recommend for a date night or a fun night out with friends. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

The bottomless mimosas ($29.99) sound like a great deal, but just know how they run it. There's a 90-minute minimum, and they don't bring a bottle to the table--you get one mimosa at a time, and you have to finish it before they'll bring another. The first one I got tasted like straight orange juice barely any champagne. I sent it back and to their credit, they remade it much better They mentioned they control pours to keep the environment in check, which I understand--but if you're expecting free-pour vibes, that's not the case here. Food-wise: French toast & breakfast potatoes were really good However the Chilaquiles were super dry and lacked flavor--wouldn't recommend Burger & fries were decent, but nothing special As for drink pricing, it does lean a bit on the higher side. bucket of 5 beers was around $42, $15 for a Tito's vodka shot, and even a basic Jack and Coke came out to about $18 with tip, which felt a little steep for the area. the best deal was definitely the green tea shots at only $9 I will say, our waitress Priscilla was great. She had a lot of tables and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she still made an effort to check on us and kept my mimosas coming pretty promptly. I didn't have to wait long at all between refills, which I appreciated. Since we went for a special event, the DJs were great and really kept the energy up the whole time Parking was easy. It did say there was a $2 fee, but when we printed the ticket, we weren't charged--so it might be free, but I'd still double-check at the kiosk just in case. Overall: decent spot for the vibe, music, and brunch outing, but just be prepared for controlled drinks and slightly higher prices.

The Blind Rabbit is in building B (I think... 2 story building right off the main road). A reservation is highly recommended, as this spot can only hold about 30 people. As I went alone, my reservation was for a bar seat, which was cool as I was able to watch the bartenders make lots of very cool shaken and stirred drinks. This place serves absinthe drinks plus absinthe served the traditional way (cold water on sugar cube into the alcohol). I did not try that, but was tempted. My pineapple old fashioned (Retired Old Man was what Sergio (bartender) told me) was very tasty. The Tamerand Marg with mezcal that I tried next was just okay (should have stuck with the whiskey!). The ambience is great, but it is quite dark inside. Use the light under the bar top to read the menu. There is food available. I tried the crabcake and thoroughly enjoyed it! If you go looking for the entrance, look for the "boxes" stacked against the wall and the black bunny handle (next to a hostess station that may/may not be staffed). Photos were highly discouraged, so I respected their wishes and just enjoyed the moment. I hope you enjoy it too!

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it
