Our family participated in the axe throwing and found it a lot of fun. I would suggest you don't do over half an hour for six or less. It's a lot of throwing. We booked it for an hour and found it too long. It's a very clean environment and the employees are helpful and kind. We would probably do it again. Rates it four stars bc we asked if we could exchange a half hour of axe throwing for the batting cages and we couldn't do it without another $30+ charge. No one was there so it could have been easily swapped out but alas .... Not. Oh well

Such a great experience! Enjoyed all the games, the staff and the vibe! I will definitely recommend this place to my friend and family.

No food just snacks and drinks Service self serves but need reservations to get in. Waiver is required before the game . It's pretty full but enough space. It is located in warehouse. Has limited parking . The light outside was not enough kids dark. It's a good place for a new hobby. Just scary

My son and I got to experience the Rage Room at Axe Lair. It was a great way to blow off some steam before his school year starts. Jaden was a gracious host and explained all rules and tips clearly. We both chose 15 items to demolish. It helped that there were fans in there, too. We played some shuffle board, connect four, and some pinball when we were done. We'll definitely be coming back. Thanks again, friends. Rage on!

Axe throwing is underrated. Nothing like launching a steel Blade into a 2x4 for stress relief & friendly competition. The venue is what you would imagine it looks like: a metal hanger, concrete flooring, cool decor, cages & wooden targets. They use a projector system to provide a variety of games including tic-tac-toe, zombie head hunter & a classic bulls-eye target. The atmosphere is friendly. The folks who work there are happy to give you pointers on how perform better. Axe throwing itself is $25ish, knife throwing is an additional $5. You have the choice of hatchets & longer tomahawks. It's one of my favorite activities to do, especially in the winter months. Definitely worth a try.

Book in advance if you want to do more than an hour session/ combo. I tried booking day of online and they didn't have spots available, I called and they said they had plenty of 1 hr sessions of both axe throwing and knives, I found it silly that they couldn't accommodate both. They seem relatively new and still figuring things out. I got there a half hour early and they allowed us to start our hour early, which worked out for our diner reservations after. They mention that alcohol would be available in the next coming weeks or so but I'd be happy without it in this place Great fun place to let some steam off and assortment of games to play on the targets.

different lanes (they have stuff to do while you wait for your lane like corn hold and jenga etc)

Fun Family activity; we bought a package for 8 ppl so 2 lanes next to each other. we absolutely had a blast. when we got there, we had a little bit of a wait. We didn't know about the waiver beforehand so we had to rush to do it. They gave you a quick instruction and demonstration how to do it. We were a group of eight. My parents being over 50 and, my siblings and others were in our 20s. We had fun there are different games that you can play with it. So yeah multiple options on how to play. We really enjoyed the duck hunt. Only thing is it took us almost half the time just trying to get the ax to stick. And we probably just needed a new piece of wood, it wouldn't stick. and we changed axes multiple times! but had fun and would come again

Ask the Community - The Axe Lair

Wanted to take my husband here Wednesday with our 11 and 6 year old. Are they able to participate or is there anything for them to do?

Hello! Children 10+ can throw at our Upland location. Other little ones are welcome to hang out, we have a big connect 4 and janga, but not too many activities outside of that.

How many people is it to a stall? Can someone come to just observe, not play?

Depending on the busyness, 4-5 people can fit into a stall. And yes! Spectators are welcome.

Hello. I have a 7 month old. Would I be able to bring him with me into your establishment?

    Yes not a problem

Is this outside or inside, and also does it have a/c?

It is Inside and it is NOT air conditioned!

Is there an age limit on kids throwing axes?

    10+

    Do you serve food?

They serve drinks and you are encouraged to bring in food from somewhere else or have it delivered. We had pizza delivered.

Do we have to make reservations?

Reservations are always recommended but walkins are also accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Can we bring our own drinks?

Hello Tony, we sale soft drinks. As for alcoholic drinks, they’re not allowed in the facility as of now.

    Are there drinks served?

Hello Steven, at the moment only soft drinks but we are walking distance to Rescue Brewery

Don’t See Your Question? Ask Away!

HOWEVER, we know that the owner was contacted by at least an hour before we showed up for our reservation. That was ample time to call or email us to let us know that we should reschedule. You knew no one was there to run the business. You knew that people with reservations would be showing up. You did nothing to try to mitigate the problem. We had to find childcare. We had to go to the store and spend extra money to buy items to smash. You could have saved us a lot of trouble with a phone call. The irony is that after this experience, I really needed to smash something to get my frustration out.

When we walked in, there wasn't a host or greeter at the front stand. I wanted to sit outside to enjoy the summer weather, but after seeing the lack of staff, we sat in direct view of the front desk and general path of travel. Even then we had to repeatedly ask for our drinks. Service was slow, disorganized and the staff just walked around without urgency. I'd love to say the food made it better, but that wasn't the case. The smoked rib tips arrived so dry that they were practically beef jerky. They tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Our son ordered wings with buffalo sauce and they came out bone dry without the sauce. We alerted a random waitress because ours was nowhere to be found and she took them back to be coated. Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. I should check out their escape rooms some time soon.

Overall a positive experience with a couple of cons:…read more - When we arrived, there wasn't any clear instructions of where/what we should do as there is no front desk. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.
