Found a Groupon for one person in a social lane for about $28 when original price is $36. I reserved an 8pm time slot on a Friday night and I was surprised to find it pretty empty when I got there. It's in downtown LB so you're surrounded by many bars and restaurants. There's street parking and different structures you can park in as well. It's also on the second floor of a plaza, pretty easy to find. The inside is designed weird bc the front desk isn't obvious and you have to turn a corner to find it? There was only 1 person working that shift when I arrived. Apparently other people reserved 8pm too but they all were late so my social lane ended up being just me for a while before others joined. Sebastian did a great job of explaining the rules and he was super nice always coming around to check on me and the group of friends I randomly bumped into. He was very attentive and kind and funny! "Bad Axe" is pretty accurate bc it was a bad experience. Check in initially was not a smooth process we were confused where to check in, and others let us know they were initially confused as well and pointed us into the right direction. Main reason for the review is the staff!! Sebastian like many others have pointed out was bothering our party, and was clearly intoxicated. I was using the expo marker to keep score and he asked me to close it to save money ???? An expo marker ? Next, he kept making odd jokes and comments about us throwing the axe. Someone from our group let the other employee know we were uncomfortable and he finally left us alone. Also they gave us a horrible board! I asked to move and the guy moved us 30 minutes in and admitted to giving us... and I quote " a fked up board". First time visiting and better than I expected. Karyn was awesome giving our group tips for throwing better. Karyn did give me a hard time after I accidentally hit the ceiling light with the axe.... apparently I was the first person she's ever seen do that before and that required me to be re instructed of how to throw an axe. This a good 4 stars! Located north of Ocean Blvd away from the Pike area is a sleepy mall / food court with an axe throwing venue that serves canned beer and some other alcohol. Myself, some family, and some friends went on Memorial Day. It's best to make reservations first to get a certain time slot to throw as they indicate they need to make sure about adequate staffing. We were helped by Quinn I think was her name. She was friendly, helpful and pretty good at throwing - if the zombies show up I'm trying to find her. The place kinda has the feel of a bowling alley in a low key fun way. For us it was fun and we will try again. Keep in my if you are serious about this - one of our party who has done this a few times said other places have the targets farther away - so some make think this experience is a bit junior. Beer was pricey at $6 a can, but you don't want a lot of drinking going on with axes being thrown. No good but you might be able to bring in food - ask first tho. Parking was available on Broadway just between 1st and the Promenade. It was 2 hours free so you shouldn't have too high a tab if you stick to axe throwing. read more

Incredibly unprofessional. When we arrived at 7:20 pm Sebastian glared at us and rolled his eyes. Without greeting us he just started talking about the inconvenience of our arrival because he was "off in 10 minutes" and his coworker hadn't arrived yet. When Quin was showing us how to throw the axe and knifes, Sebastian on the side started to pretend to stab himself in the neck, stomach, and arms and making faces. He wasn't even following along with what Quin was saying but just instead playing on the side. He was very distracting and Quin was obviously not happy with his performance. He showed up right at our reservation time, complaining that we were the only reason he even had to come in, that no one woke him up from his nap, and that's why he was running late. If that wasn't bad enough, we had to endure multiple ten-minute demonstrations of his throwing skills, which felt like a complete waste of time. The checkout process was the final straw. He couldn't calculate our totals correctly, adding an extra 30 minutes to the ordeal, and bizarrely insisted that we had all agreed to pay together--something we never mentioned. As we tried to help him through it, he only became more hostile--raising his voice, talking over us, arguing, and even banging his fists on the counter. He also complained he actually did not get any money from this because "corporate". After we apologized for how confusing it all was, he then made a snide and unnecessary comment about how he was sure we weren't sorry. All of this was completely unprovoked.
