The inside is designed weird bc the front desk isn't obvious and you have to turn a corner to find it? There was only 1 person working that shift when I arrived. Apparently other people reserved 8pm too but they all were late so my social lane ended up being just me for a while before others joined. Sebastian did a great job of explaining the rules and he was super nice always coming around to check on me and the group of friends I randomly bumped into. He was very attentive and kind and funny! We wound up at The Axe District and I have to admit, I had so much fun! I had never done anything like this before but Alex, our wonderful instructor showed us techniques so we could be successful at this. She explained the rules, was very thorough in her lesson and answered any questions we had. We were then on our own. After a few throws, I really got the hang of it and surprised myself at how decent I was. The games were all computer generated and it was easy to keep track of everyone's score. They had a variety of games - tik tac toe, darts, zombie hunter and a game where you can upload a picture of an Ex or an unsolicited Instagram picture DMd to you for no specific reason , to use as target practice until you get good at throwing ax's. The Axe District was clean, does not serve food/beverage but allowed you to bring your own. A friend brought a cooler filled with goodies and there was a taco vendor just outside on the sidewalk so we were able to have that as well. I also liked the music played - good variety from Faith No More, Van Halen (David Lee Roth era), De La Soul to Otis Redding; it wasn't too noisy so you could have a conversation. All in all, it was a great way to spend the afternoon and I'm glad I came. It was different, fun and a great introduction to ax throwing. I would come back. We had to go to the store and spend extra money to buy items to smash. You could have saved us a lot of trouble with a phone call. The irony is that after this experience, I really needed to smash something to get my frustration out.

They mentioned that they sold some breakable items for $3-$4 each but that we should spend the 20 minutes we needed to wait to go and purchase some breakable items from around the area while we waited. We asked if we could receive a discount for the rage room or if we could receive any of the $3/$4 breakable items for free, but they stated that the best they could do was to give a discount on the breakable items. We paid around $150 total for 5 of us so to only be offered a discount on items that are already only $3/$4 was laughable. They said they could not discount or refund a portion of the rage room cost at all, so there was no acceptable attempt made to make the situation right for us. As we dressed in protective gear for the rage room, we found that at least half of the protective gear we tried (helmets, gloves, jumpsuits) was defective, had holes in them, and wouldn't have been safe to wear. They also did not have enough protective gear for all five members of our group. When we asked for more protective gear, they stated they only had enough to supply 2-3 people at most with full protective gear and we were NOT notified of this after booking the rage room online. We will not be returning to this location due to the mistake they made with no reasonable attempt to make this right with us, the negligent and defective protective gear, and the lack of sufficient protective gear for our group.
