We booked a private lesson with Sebastian for one and a half hours during the day and it was fantastic. Three ladies and we got to throw the axes over and over and over again and became quite good. Had a blast. Definitely go during the day when nobody's there and you get one on one attention.

What a Bad Axe experience! We walked in about an hour before closing and Sebastian took great care of us throughout our time here. His quirky sense of humor and sharing his tips/expertise were enhancements to the experience. Seeing your throws bounce off the wood or go completely far off target is humbling. Hearing the thunk when your axe nails the board is rewarding. A decent selection of alcohol is available as well.

It was a very fun experience. We had Rob coaching us. Very informative and laid back. Rob provided axes and throwing knives, along with a 2 handed axe. Knives were my favorite. Would definitely go back.

So for my birthday I wanted to try something new and this has been on my list to checkout. This place was really fun to experience if you've never done any axe throwing before. I booked an appointment there with some friends and we had a good time. It was our first time throwing axes & knifes and we really enjoyed ourselves. The coach there made explaining how to throw really easy and even improved our throwing during the experience. We started getting competitive once we started hitting the board. Also too since they serve alcohol it made our time much more enjoyable. I definitely would recommend this place to check out and the service there was good.

Dwight was the best! 10/10 recommend! We had teacher team building here and it was super fun. Nice clean facility, great beer. Would def return again.

I'm so axecited--Let's kick axe! #Bullseye

I felt like such a bad axe! Yes, I said it. A bad Axe. I can assure you I am not--I enjoy sewing and crocheting. I just so happened to hit the bullseye a few times...luck!?! Axe throwing is something everyone can do and is located in downtown Long Beach not too far from Pike outlets. No reservations were made prior to visiting but the group I arrived with had no issues entering. Walk-ins welcomed. Let's kick axe! The place was clean and tidy. It also felt like a safe and fun space. Traditional axe, big axe, and knife throwing. They also have axe throwing leagues. The axes are high quality; It is like dart throwing, but next level. A throwing coach set up everything and left us with a few instructions--thanks Chad. I had so much fun throwing and watching the axe stick to the wooden wall. Everyone gets 45 minutes per session and time flew by. As they say, "unleash your inner warrior!" "Time is not refundable use it with intention!" Tips: Metered parking Walk-in times specified weekly

We had such a blast axe throwing! The whole experience was exciting and well-organized, but what really made it stand out was our coach, Sebastian. He was amazing--super patient, encouraging, and had the perfect mix of fun and skill (even though he says he doesn't practice much but hits every single shot with ease.) He made sure we were safe while still keeping the energy high and the laughs going. Highly recommend this place, and if you get Sebastian as your coach, you're in for a great time! Leroy Jenkins on the other hand, terrible guy. Wouldn't recommend visiting with him

While cruising down Pine Street, we spotted Bad Axe Throwing and decided to check it out after grabbing a few beers across the street. On short notice, they were able to accommodate a birthday group of seven huge props for that alone! The staff was super helpful, making sure everyone got set up quickly and offering easy tips so we could all join in and have fun. It's an awesome spot to hang out, toss some axes, and enjoy a laid-back, walkable downtown vibe. Highly recommend stopping by have a beer and let an axe fly!

Great date night spot! Quinn was great at instructing our group how to safely throw and handle the axe. We learned how to throw overhead, under hand, double axe, and two handed. We had a great time and highly recommend this spot for a group event or date night.

Cat N.

This was a lot more fun than expected. Someone I knew made reservations for about 25 of us. Upon coming I only knew that we had to wear closed-toe shoes. They had us sign electronic waivers and show that we were over 18 to participate. Checking in was fairly quick. The super friendly and helpful staff went over the rules and gave us tip and tricks on how to throw our axes. We were able to bring in food and non-alcoholic drinks. They had a bar inside if you want to purchase alcohol. The guys working here were really nice and helped us each how to throw it to get bullseye. Our group got really competitive and there were lots of laughs. We all had an awesome time and I would definitely recommend it for parties and large gatherings.

Mark B.

This a good 4 stars! Located north of Ocean Blvd away from the Pike area is a sleepy mall / food court with an axe throwing venue that serves canned beer and some other alcohol. Myself, some family, and some friends went on Memorial Day. It's best to make reservations first to get a certain time slot to throw as they indicate they need to make sure about adequate staffing. We were helped by Quinn I think was her name. She was friendly, helpful and pretty good at throwing - if the zombies show up I'm trying to find her. The place kinda has the feel of a bowling alley in a low key fun way. For us it was fun and we will try again. Keep in my if you are serious about this - one of our party who has done this a few times said other places have the targets farther away - so some make think this experience is a bit junior. Beer was pricey at $6 a can, but you don't want a lot of drinking going on with axes being thrown. No good but you might be able to bring in food - ask first tho. Parking was available on Broadway just between 1st and the Promenade. It was 2 hours free so you shouldn't have too high a tab if you stick to axe throwing.

Decided to throw some knives after the axes, so awesome!

Jay S.

This was such a great and fun place! We learned to throw axes and after we mastered that, we moved on to knives! The staff was so friendly and cool, I'll definitely be coming back here for my next axe throwing adventure! They also have beverages for sale and a great playlist on, so it's a great vibe all-around. Full breakdown below: Service: 5/5 Fun: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 5/5

Terrible experience with Sebastian. From the start, it took forever for him to get us set up. He showed up right at our reservation time, complaining that we were the only reason he even had to come in, that no one woke him up from his nap, and that's why he was running late. Throughout the night, he kept inserting himself into our group uninvited. If that wasn't bad enough, we had to endure multiple ten-minute demonstrations of his throwing skills, which felt like a complete waste of time. The checkout process was the final straw. He couldn't calculate our totals correctly, adding an extra 30 minutes to the ordeal, and bizarrely insisted that we had all agreed to pay together--something we never mentioned. As we tried to help him through it, he only became more hostile--raising his voice, talking over us, arguing, and even banging his fists on the counter. He also complained he actually did not get any money from this because "corporate". After we apologized for how confusing it all was, he then made a snide and unnecessary comment about how he was sure we weren't sorry. All of this was completely unprovoked. The entire experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating from start to finish. We will not be returning to this business. read more

If you just want to try ace throwing, it's perfect. If you want a party/high energy atmosphere, maybe don't go axe throwing. Lol The actual axe throwing was really fun once you figure it out. As far as the overall experience, it's just fine. I think it's because the nature of axe throwing is so dangerous that you don't want to "party" like you think you will, cause you're being careful (as you should). The drink selection is fine, but it would have been helpful if there was an actual sound system so the music was louder. Again, would recommend if you just really wanta try axe throwing. Will return if I want to get some anger out. read more

They might have been off their game since it was an event, but that shouldn't excuse any lack of safety. They went over four rules but there should have been more. Lots of people bumping into you when you're about to throw, shouldn't one of the rules be to give room to people when they're throwing? Other places I've been have had a line where people shouldn't cross unless they're throwing, seems like a simple rule that can be implemented. Another issue is that as I was picking up an axe, one of the instructors instructed the lane next to me to throw. This goes against one of their rules of "don't throw when someone is on the black part." If the staff can't follow any of their own rules, how am I supposed to feel safe? Two "coaches" doesn't seem like enough for the size of the event we were at (one of them was in charge of tending bar and safety waivers). Sebastian said he really didn't care if we followed the rules since we "signed the waiver," I understand the sentiment but it gives no confidence that others can practice safety even if I follow the rules. read more

When I went into Bad Axe I had thrown axes only once before and I was laughably bad (I missed the target and hit an entirely unrelated wall). Thanks to the guidance of Quinn, one of their coaches, I was able to learn some good techniques and get a few bullseyes! I was hesitant to try the two handed throwing technique because I've been bad at using two hands for dexterous tasks before but Quinn was able to show me how to properly throw and taught me about where to stand/how distance affects the rotation of the axe! I had such a fun time and I look forward to bringing my friends here in the future (if only so I can show off). read more

It has a pretty big menu where you definitely have to enjoy BBQ food. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. They have axe throwing and plenty of arcade games. This is a perfect place to bring your kids and a wonderful spot to sit at the bar, watch the game, and have a few drinks. I don't particularly love BBQ food but I did like what I ordered. My bartender and server was named Elise and she was fabulous. I asked her lots of questions about the restaurant and she was happy to answer them. I also want to add how big this space is. This is not a small restaurant and there is plenty of seating everywhere. I think it's a perfect place if you want to come with a group of people.

While the two restaurants have completely different vibes and flavors, Sauced is definitely a fun addition to the space and offers a different kind of dining experience. This spot is a BBQ restaurant, sports bar and games/entertainment all in one. They have an outdoor shuffle board and they even offer axe throwing here! It definitely has a fun game vibe. Food wise, I was impressed with several of their dishes. My favorite was their Swamp Fries. These are their version of loaded fries. It is waffle fries tossed in their house rub bbq, drizzled with chipotle lime ranch and topped with poblano queso, chives smoky baked beans and chopped brisket. I loved the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I also enjoyed their Smoked Wings tossed in bbq sauce, their Chips with Poblano Queso and their Buffalo Cauliflower. Everything was packed with flavor and so good. It was definitely an indulgent meal. Overall, Sauced is a fun spot with good food, a lovely atmosphere, and plenty to enjoy. I'd definitely love to come back to try more of their menu!

I got my stroller, wheeler back to the car, and the seller left. The stroller wasn't fitting in my car. I tried to take off the wheels. I tried the trunk. I tried the backseat. I called my husband seven times, my parents twice each. I stood there in the parking lot googling videos and also trying not to panic because no one was answering. The Internet had said that the stroller would fit into a Corolla, so I had no idea why it wasn't working. No one in my family with our larger cars was picking up their phones or answering their texts. My friends that did respond and offer to help were forty minutes away, with their own toddler children. I couldn't accept that. So I waited and kept futilely fiddling with the stroller. One of the owners must have noticed that I was struggling, because she very kindly came over and asked me if I needed help. I sheepishly admitted that yes, I'm an idiot and could not seem to get the stroller into my car. She was patient and figured out that the double stroller actually folded twice. Then, she even helped me put it on the trunk. I can't even begin to express how thankful I am. I was so flustered, I didn't even catch her name.
