Look for the ESCAPE ROOM sign over head and the mirrored front windows. They have two rooms: "The Amazing Argo: A Steampunk Adventure" and "The Lost Treasure of El Capitan". We chose to do the Argo room. We were greeted by Alain, who would be our game master. After scanning a QR code on the TV to complete the online waiver, we were escorted into the room and our time began. All parts of room are immersive and there are a lot of really great props and display items that fit the theme of being on a steampunk airship well. The room is mostly non-linear, but flows well, and has a big variety of puzzles with just a few locks, quite a few mechanical puzzles, and even a few arcade style puzzles. There was one puzzle that wasn't properly reset but Alain was quick to resolve the issue. He gave us helpful hints without totally giving the solution away when we asked for help a few times which I always appreciate. This was a close one, but the two of us escaped right at the 60 minute mark. Afterwards, we enjoyed discussing elements of the room and other rooms in SoCal with Alain. He also gave us a quick view of the El Capitan room which I'm sure we will return to try. They are currently building a third room Code Black which will be a mostly completely dark room. Their rooms are very reasonably priced at only $50 per person for two people. The price per person goes down if you have a bigger group. Give their rooms a try!

My fiancé was visiting from Iowa and my friends and I live about 1.5hrs away. While driving I received a text 17 minutes before that the experience was canceled due to technical difficulties. Were we annoyed that we drove 1.5hrs for no reason and wasted valuable, precious time? Yes. However, I get it, things happen. In an email they sent me, they had asked if we'd like to reschedule or get a refund. I asked for a refund. I have emailed them on 4 different occasions. The day of, the 20th, 22nd, 25th, and the 27th asking for a refund and/or the next steps to get our money back. No response. The phone number on their website is disconnected so I couldn't get through to anyone. To spend $320 and not even get one single reply is ridiculous. I had to file a claim and take it up with the Better Business Bureau. Very tacky business. Will NOT be recommending this experience to anyone and I recommend you don't waste your time either. I should have known better than to expect much considering how many typos they had on their confirmation email.

The qualities of all the rooms are amazing - there's so much thought and effort put into building all the rooms. Experience: I want to call out our game masters - Alyse and Vienna were amazing! They were so friendly and helpful, answering all the questions that we had. It was a joy to have them as GMs. Overall, I loved all three rooms - the puzzles, decorations, and story were all great! Inside Job: This room has a minimum for 5 people which makes sense because there's so many puzzles you can do which is perfect! I appreciated the variety of puzzle that they had and it was nice because everyone was always working on something. This is also super unique since it's a former bank! Definitely worth the try! Villains Vendetta: This room is a lot smaller compared to knightfall and Inside job but it utilized the space well. There were so many puzzles - some easy, some challenging. It was super fun and I loved the theming and decorations. Knightfall: If you're into medieval themed rooms, this is the room for you! I loved the interactive pieces through out the room. Similar to the other rooms, there are multiple things you can work on which makes it more satisfying for larger groups. Price: Average price for an escape room. I would say it's pretty affordable and there are deals often! Parking: There is plenty of parking - we had no issues finding parking.

Our host Alisa was a huge part of why this experience was so positive, as she had great energy and not only set the tone in advance of the experience, but also maintained character throughout the experience and even spent time debriefing with us afterwords. She also kindly gave us the opportunity to extend our time and continue playing so that we would walk out victorious. The experience itself was done exceptionally well, inclusive of the technology and unique components, including lights, sounds, props and interesting puzzles. Afterwards, she gave us a sneak peek into a different themed room, and we all agreed that we want to go back. This could easily get addicting! I would highly recommend this activity for any work group.

Quest Tavern definitely delivers on that experience -- our group of three felt like the game had already started as soon as we walked in, thanks to the decor and our game master, Diego. Diego was incredibly friendly throughout the entire experience, starting from the moment he welcomed us in. He also enhanced the immersion by slipping into character to introduce the backstory of our chosen escape room, complete with an accent entirely different from his normal one (the guy should seriously consider voice acting). After we completed the room, he was a wealth of knowledge when we asked for recommendations on other escape rooms to try, and his enthusiasm was contagious. His passion for escape rooms made us excited to plan our next one, which ended up being one that he highly suggested (Ministry of Peculiarities). The escape room we chose was The Witch's Cauldron, and it was so much fun -- eerie without being overly scary, and just the right amount of difficulty, especially for our little group of three. The attention to detail with the theming and decor was great, and we are already thinking about planning our next visit to Quest Tavern!
