ENTER Escape Room is a puzzle buffet at the heart of UCR's university village. The entrance is hard to find (I missed it a couple of times) but the location is conveniently next to a coffee shop. If you need an extra pep in your step before a mental workout, parking and food are all there. Booking online was seamless for us and our group ended up doing all of their rooms here in one day. Service was top notch and we met their owner Sam, who shared with us his vision for the different rooms. Our other game masters, Patrick and AJ, were so kind and told us what they enjoyed watching from our collaboration together. That is what I love about our local escape room businesses - you can really feel the love in every design and prop! The rooms were all different and this is the order that we did them in. Enter the Jungle Enter the Dark Wizard's Pursuit Enter the Twisted Trials Enter Wonderland Enter the Dark Wizard's Pursuit ended up being my personal favorite but all of them had such unique themes and puzzles that they could be stand alone experiences and I would have had a great time. My least favorite would be Enter Wonderland just because of one specific dexterity puzzle, but I believe the game has a system where they give you enough time to "productively struggle" before they clear you to bypass this and move on to the rest of the room. They offer to take your photos inside the room and they also explain puzzles in case you were confused about certain parts. Overall, service, production value, puzzle flow, and theming definitely makes this place a must-visit all the way to Riverside in the Inland Empire. read more

We had a Blast!! I didn't even know there was a such thing as an Escape room! My daughter wanted all of us to go for her brother's birthday and paid for the adventure, "Enter The Dark Wizard's Pursuit." I love the fact it was private, so only our family was involved. We didn't have to share our time there with people we didn't know so that made it even more fun! Honestly, I wasn't super thrilled to go at first and just wanted to stay home. My weekends are made for relaxing after working a 9 to 5 job through the week. But man I'm so glad I let her talk me into going! Gamemaster Patrick really brought it all together and made our visit such an enjoyable and memorable one! He kept us on our toes the entire time and was such a big help when we were stuck. He also gave us a few laughs throughout our adventure! We wouldn't have been able to figure out the puzzles and riddles without guidance from him! He is the best! He gave us the best 60 minutes of real fun and enjoyment! I was a little worried we wouldn't figure it out but together, we did and with 5:56 seconds to spare! Did the Wonderland room and I'm obsessed. From the moment you walk in it smells like a tea party with cakes and instantly pulls you into the vibe. Everything felt so immersive and thoughtfully done. Our host Isabelle was incredible. Whether it's her or the character she plays she was pure magic and made the whole experience feel like part of the story, not just an escape room intro. The puzzles were fun clever and very "Wonderland" with a few tricky moments (no spoilers!) that felt like a nod to the movie and the whole trickster energy. Our group worked great together and had the best time. We used the full time and maybe a tiny extra lol but it never felt stressful. Super affordable and absolutely worth it. I totally recommend this escape room !!! My friends & I did the twisted trails room ! It was such a good experience for a first escape room. I love how the room was set up ! I can't say too much without giving it away. I would definitely go back to try one of the other rooms they have there !! Our host was Aj ! He was super chill & funny. Honestly he's what made the game even funnier & cool. This location is in a plaza which is next to uc Riverside so does get packed !! They have lots of food options all within the area ! Obviously you couldn't use your phone in the actual room, but if you needed to reply to a text or phone call you were able to step out of the game to answer ! If you needed to leave the room for any other reason you were more than able to ! I would definitely recommend going in a big group !! My group was 4 people which was a good sized group. We were told that we actually did really good for this being our first escape room, we were so close to finishing but I think if we had a little over an hour than we would have made it out for sure. read more

I was excited to see that an escape room opened up in University Village. We did the Jungle escape room on New Year's Day and had a great time! Booking online was easy and straightforward and the service was great throughout our time here. The Jungle itself was fun and challenging. I was impressed with the decorations and the puzzles. DO NOT BOOK - Saman is a liar and gaslighter. I accidentally booked the week before my planned escape room. That's definitely my fault. Saman called me after I didn't show up on that day and I rebooked it on the phone with him for the correct day and time. I know this because I specifically asked if 2pm was still available. And he said yes and he'd rebook it with a $35 rebooking fee. I come in the following week and Saman says he didn't rebook it because I was rebooking it without a date/time. And there was already another group that booked the 2pm. Why would I do that? My planned time to go never changed and I would never leave $140 up in the air like that. I showed him the booking confirmation email and tried to remind him that I specifically asked for the 2pm on the phone but he would cut me off and tell me he can tell I'm frustrated and he's doing his best to help (there was no help, just gaslighting). All while his tone was very passive aggressive and emotional. He was really rude and unprofessional and talked down to me every chance he could. I appreciate he called me when I didn't show up the week before, but I know what I said on the phone when I rebooked it. It was on him to actually rebook it when he said he did. I love escape rooms but go to Trapped! or Wizards and Wires instead of this one. read more

We absolutely loved this escape room, it's right by UCR's university village and it might be a little unnoticeable at first but trust me you don't want to miss this spot! We have done three out of the four escape rooms and we have had such wonderful experiences in each of them. The rooms are different and all have their unique themes/puzzles, and we have had such amazing game masters each time, we had Patrick for Enter the Jungle, Isabelle for Enter the Dark Wizard's Pursuit, and most recently Gray for Enter Wonderland. We have liked all the escape rooms but Dark wizard's pursuit takes the cake on this one :) Thank you for such an amazing experience and we cannot wait to come back and finish Twisted Trials! Some props were loose, like the glue didn't hold & caused some confusion, but the workers were quick to address those issues! While majority of the puzzles don't require you to watch the movie, or fully understand the theme, we felt that some puzzles in Enter Wonderland did. read more

They just opened inside of the university center! Came here with my bf and some new friends, who had never been to an escape room before. We booked "The Jungle", which is based on the movie "Jumanji". It was well-decorated from floor to wall. The puzzles were the perfect difficulty: hard enough to require teamwork and critical thinking, but not too hard where it feels impossible or need to rely on hints. We really appreciated that certain elements made it clear if we had the correct combination, so we could quickly address if we had something wrong. The hints were also thought out, as they gently nudged us in the right direction without being a giveaway The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating with all of our questions. When we ended up losing on the very last clue only seconds away from completing the puzzle, the employee was so kind to comfort and reassure us when we were feeling defeated. They also take a group photo for you inside the room, allowing you to choose the backdrop and to hold any props, which they send to your phone number from the waiver :) When we were leaving, they informed us of a new "Saw"-themed room that will be ready next month, which we'll be sure to check out! read more

I tried the Wizard themed room with my friends. We had a really fun time playing together. The decor is plentiful and there are tons of puzzles in each room. I've done many escape rooms and this one had a lot of elements that I had not encountered before as well as some familiar concepts. You get to use a wand to interact with some of the puzzles. There is only one screen and button for hints. I recommend going with a reliable group of at least 5, since you have to book payment per player at once instead of individually. I also would bring an empty belt or tote bag with you to keep track of game pieces if allowed, but made sure to return everything at the end. Smartphone usage is not permitted. It is a bit chilly so you could definitely wear wizard robes and comfortable sneakers. read more
