One thing Cloud Escapes does differently from many traditional escape rooms is that they let the story drive the puzzles. Their rooms tend to be very experience-focused, with each puzzle moving the narrative forward. That was especially true in Edeline, where the story felt like the heart of the room. Kapow Comics takes a slightly different approach. While it still has a strong theme, it leans more heavily into the puzzles themselves! The game starts the moment you arrive at the door. Be ready to pay attention from the very beginning. As for 49 Boxes, it's not really an escape room at all. It's a collaborative puzzle experience created by members of the magic community. There are six tables, and depending on where you're seated, you'll encounter a completely different set of mystery boxes. The tables work together to open the collective 49 boxes and ultimately solve one final reveal. It was such a clever concept, and I loved how it encouraged collaboration between complete strangers. Cloud Escapes continues to experiment with different styles of immersive puzzle experiences, and I appreciate that they're willing to take creative risks rather than sticking to the same formula. This escape room company is a must go!

It's not your typical California style Escape Room. It's interesting and unique and a little bit scary. The 49 Boxes is not an escape room at all actually, it is an experience that pops up on Saturdays in the lobby of Cloud. This is created by members of the Magician community and also heavily focuses on storytelling as well as Magic and puzzles. This is a public experience where you form community while experiencing the magic of the evening. You work together to open boxes that lead to one final box that will finally be opened after all these years. It's an incredible night, but definitely not an escape room. It is not an experience where you puzzle hard and fast either it is a community building, shared experience among the guests to create memories and wonder.

Upon entry we were greeted by a friendly game master, I forgot to get her name but she was really sweet and enthusiastic, you can tell this business cares about their players with the small puzzles and arcade game you can play while you wait as well as a mini fridge with some water and kool aid that was fantastic on this hot summer day. I heard both rooms were very colorful and whimsical and reviews were definitely not wrong. I think there was a great combination of difficulties for the puzzles and found some very easy to overlook if you ironically didn't get to dog-eye level hehe. We love animals so this was a really great and creative room. Thank you to Ms. Jade for helping us throughout the game and providing us with hints when we were really struggling and just so close. She was really sweet and enthusiastic too! I know she was working two games at the time we finished so we appreciated that she took the time to debrief us despite trying to juggle both games as best she could. We never felt rushed. I think we'd love to come back to play Wicked Wonderland or Prison Break! Thank you Escape Room 66!

She didn't rush us out at all (as some escape room places do), she was extremely patient and kind, and she went over all of the clues that we didn't get to solve when our timer ended. My boyfriend and I spontaneously booked "The Doghouse" and I believe I spoke with her on the phone as well before booking and she was just as sweet as she was in person. I absolutely loved the creativity and complexity of the puzzles and the room/props were of high quality (and not old or overused like some places, lol). Her customer service was definitely top notch - my boyfriend definitely made sure to tip her, lol. Will definitely be back again to solve another room soon!!! Funny enough, it felt similar to classic video game puzzles, like ones you'd find in Legend of Zelda. Even though it was my first experience, that familiarity totally sucked me in and I was hooked. I also want to appreciate room set up, build, sound, music, and over all design. The quality of the room was phenomenal, and there were moments I stopped to appreciate how it all came together. Apparently we had broken the rules by taking photos (for memories). He came into the room and yelled at us for taking photos, which my brother took maybe 2 of for memories. He would not let us talk and we were very stunned. He very rudely told us to leave. If the mics were working and we heard him we obviously would have stopped. None of us heard anything while we were playing. The worker was also very rude originally and was very disrespectful. Very unpleasant and disappointing. My brother works at an escape room and if he was treating customers this way he would have gotten fired. But apparently the owner said to do this. Very angry. Have a great Father's day Dad!!

The whole process was clear and we had so much fun navigating the clues and immersing ourselves in the experience. Without giving any spoilers, there were so many cool details about this escape room that truly thinks out side of the box compared to other escape rooms.
