Morty info on the room we did
    Sherman L.

Came here on Saturday evening but it was somewhat of a messy day for us. We had originally booked a 12:40pm room for their more popular room - Mad Rapper and I been wanting to do this whenever I visit the OC area. We were on the way after dropping off my girlfriend's cat at the vet. We expected them to take much longer so the room was a last minute decision to kill time. On the way, we got a call that the treatment for the cat was done so we had to turn back. It was super unexpected and the wait to get the cat back was also unexpected so it couldn't be helped that we weren't going to make the 12:40pm room. I called them immediately around 12pm and explained the situation. The gentleman that picked up was understanding and advised me to email them so the owner can see and that the owner is usually chill about these things. I still felt bad because all their times for Mad Rapper was booked that day except their 10:40pm time so I'm sure their 12:40pm one would've been booked by another group if it wasn't for us and their policy is 48 hour notice for cancelations. I received a reply within the hour with a one time promo code to change our reservation. Since I'm visiting on vacation and one of our group members was also visiting from 5 hours away, he had to go back the next morning so we had use the code that same day. We had no choice but to use it for the Dr.Hader's room. Now excuse my extra rant, but onto the room review! As shown in the picture I posted, they received some escape room awards for both their rooms so it wasn't the end of the world that we didn't get to do Mad Rapper. Both their rooms are hip hop themed so it was a really cool experience. The decor was really cool and the staff was friendly. Throughout the whole game, hip hop music played so it felt like a party! There's extra puzzles you can do apart from the main room if you have the time which was a cool touch. We finished the main room with 13 mins left and ended up only solving 3 of the extra puzzles. I personally wasn't involved in a lot of the puzzles because there's a skill based puzzle in the room so I took it upon myself to be the one to do it since someone had to. When I got done with it, I was lost on what puzzles had already been solved and what part we were on. My group enjoyed it though and said they would come back for their other room so that's good news! Thank you Scenario Escape team and sorry for the inconvenience we caused.

My partner and I did the Mad Rapper room for $50 a person, which was super engaging and really fun! For a 2 person party, it was challenging but doable, especially if you already have a general gist of escape rooms puzzles (we finished with five minutes to spare and only one hint). A party of 3-4 is ideal to finish. Music plays the whole time, which makes the theme quite immersive. For those who are hip hop nerds, this room doesn't really reference hip hop culture or history, but they create the fictional theme and story well. Every element of the room was intentional and has a purpose which i loved! Unlike other escape rooms I've done before, the game masters do not have microphone access to talk to you. They can only see you through camera and show you hints on a TV screen when you start waving your hands in the air. That said, the production of the room wasn't too high-tech, but had all super interactive elements and well paced!

    Victory!

We (my group of 9) played Dr. Hader, it was so cool. Honestly my group killed it and I only contributed on like 2-3 things, but even despite that, there are a lot of cool things to interact with to hold your attention. Our GM ANDY was the goat! He kept it real; was helpful; personable; and went through and explained some puzzles directly to me that I didn't understand

After hearing so many great things, I finally got the chance to do Mad Rapper and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! What a unique room! The entire concept is so different and so well executed. The design of the room overall was very reminiscent of the theme and you can tell so much love was put into it. Eric, the owner, was an absolutely fantastic host and so personable. I love talking to owners and seeing how passionate and enthusiastic they are. He is so talented and the beats he made for the room were fresh! The puzzles were also really awesome! Seriously, I got stumped at some points because you really got to think and collaborate with your team (and this is coming from someone who's done over 40 rooms!). Super unique yet nothing seemed super super confusing or out of the blue. Everything connected and made sense! We escaped with around 2 minutes left with very minimal help. Will absolutely be returning to try out the new room when it opens!

Observe the rhyme, and check out the Scenario! Here we go, yo! Here we go, yo! Ever since I moved to California in 2019, I've been wanting to visit Scenario Escape Room. I came across this hip hop-themed room online and loved the idea! And after reading all of the glowing reviews, I was even more determined to experience The Mad Rapper! Unfortunately, the place was always booked when my friends and family had time to go. Then the pandemic hit... Now that I've finally had a taste of Scenario glory with my family, I can tell you that I'm impatiently awaiting its next room, which is supposed to be a cartoonish one. Currently, the only offering is The Mad Rapper, and what an experience it is! The theming here is on point! You have hip hop beats playing in the background, a music studio with instruments, cds, records, and more. The puzzles flowed well and even offered a few clever twists. The Mad Rapper certainly requires team work, and there were a couple of unique elements in this game that we thoroughly enjoyed. Communication with the game master is through the tv screen, and the rules are crystal clear. Lastly, there is a good variety of puzzle types and tech involved to keep everyone engaged! Having a discussion with the owner before and after was great, and it was obvious that he's an escape game enthusiast as well. Bookings are private, and the room is cleaned well. He wore a mask the entire time, and masks were required in the common areas. We all felt safe and had a blast!

Unfortunately two of our team members accidentally went to the Red Lantern chinese restaurant that's about 0.5 miles away but he was nice and waited for them to arrive, but definitely don't make the same mistake! Come early to make the most of the escape room and not lose time! The room itself is gorgeous, it really immerses you in the story and the space is so large it was perfect for a team of 5 but can hold even more than that. The puzzle difficulty was not too bad for a team of 3 veterans and 2 first timers, although we took almost the whole hour, some of the puzzles were very straight forward and some may not have been but the answers are generally right in front of you. It was a good mix of Gen 1 and new Gen technology but moreso leaning toward Gen 1. But still did not disappoint at all and the story made the satisfaction of moving forward even better. I wouldn't categorize this room as scary but it has a slightly spooky theme. No in room actors. GM was very helpful and communicative and would jump in to help if we had the right concept but maybe off a smidge especially if our time was cutting close which we appreciated! Overall a pretty great room with great company and not too complex that it would scare away a newcomer, I would say 5-6 people is a good number for this room to conquer puzzles simultaneously! Toria, our host was friendly and ensured we had a great experience, going above and beyond what I typically see from most gamemasters. The new games are Vampire vs. Witch and Black Hole. I would strongly recommend Vampire vs. Witch with a smaller group and have the roles swapped out afterwards so you can best experience both puzzle tracks. I would say that, for a 15 minute game, Vampire vs. Witch was pretty cool, definitely worth the small price and would work well if you didn't have too much time or wanted a warmup for either Fatal Invitation or Black Hole. For Chinese speakers, there's also the option to switch the language in the room, but when I played the default was English. There's also an integrated hint system which allows you to communicate through a tablet, which doubles as your timer for the room. Despite having some minor technical issues on a follow-up visit with a different gamemaster, we did have a backup walkie so make sure to keep that one close by as well. We went in questioning like what is a horror comedy room. We did not look too much into it as we wanted to like go in kinda blind. I went in a group of three. One of us is amazing at puzzles, one it was their first time in an escape room who wanted a horror one but not an intense horror one, and me who is still new to puzzles of escape rooms but has been dragged into a few intense (in my opinion) horror rooms where I was dead weight and just hiding lol. The rooms were immersive and had us laughing and screaming. Mostly laughing at how much we were screaming and jumping. The puzzles were like the perfect amount of brain power for like beginners but still challenging enough/ fun for the puzzle people. There were lots of creative pieces in the design that I don't want to go too in detail as to not spoil it. Definitely need to work as a team though and those were the type of puzzles my group likes because it allowed us all at our different levels to participate and have fun. We were talking about this escape room all night at our dinner because of how much fun we had. We would definitely recommend it for any people who love horror films, horror escape rooms, and want to get a good laugh. As for me a scaredy cat who kinda likes horror but has been a teenie bit traumatized but the intense ones this was a perfect like middle ground of immersion and puzzle solving without being in intense fight or flight LOL. You're not rushed into stress--you're pulled into a story. The cat theme is adorable and surprisingly immersive. You're encouraged to crawl, climb, explore, and think with curiosity, which makes it feel playful rather than overwhelming. It's rare to find an escape room that's this wholesome, yet still engaging for adults. A refreshing change from scare-based rooms--and proof that escape rooms don't need fear to be memorable.

I almost booked online but ended up calling because I had some specific questions, and she made it easy to book and pay over the phone. On the day we booked, Chad was our host and he was super energetic and brought all the right vibes. We had 8 people in our group and we did the Vendetta 80s room. Two people in our group hadn't done an escape room before, one person had done a few and most of us had only done one prior, so a fairly diverse group. Chad was great at explaining the rules and also giving the group a few tips and pointers. He also offered free water bottles to my team. The Vendetta room was really fun. As he described it, it was a little more old school in terms of puzzles, meaning not super techy like some other rooms can be. But the challenges were really fun, and in our opinion, pretty challenging! In this room you are in an old 80s store front, fighting the villain action figures to find and save the super hero's and good guys. Each of us kind of found our strengths in puzzle solving and we finished right on the dot, finding all 15 figures. Lots of old music, action figures, baseball cards, books, toys, legos, and laser beams. The magic 8 ball was the death of me, shake it really well!! But anyway, I digress My team had a great time and got to take some fun pictures at the end with 80s props. Chad even asked us if we wanted to take a sneak peek of the Olympus room afterward. It looked super cool and was definitely different than Vendetta, a lot more tech, and we may be back for a future outing to try it out! Definitely recommend this gem for a team bonding experience, or even just a group of friends that want something new and fun to do. Chad also explained the history behind escape rooms a bit, and it was interesting to know that this was the first escape room in anaheim, and one of the first 10 in the US. We went with a group of 7 and felt it was a good amount of people given the amount of puzzles to go through. My group really enjoyed the theme and puzzles - definitely one of the harder escape rooms we've done honestly! Puzzles aren't too linear, multiple people can work on different things at the same time which was really nice to have so everyone had something they could do. Theme was on point and all the props/environment were very nice. There were a few things that were falling apart but we ended up telling our GM about it. Our GM was great! I think her name was Katie? She helped us out when we screamed for her and having unlimited hints was a great help. We really liked that the hints were displayed on the screen with the timer rather than having to hear it via speakers. It was SUPER helpful because we could read it at our own pace and also look back at it when we're in a different room. The only downside I'd say is that there was only 1 TV screen in the entire escape room so we did have to run back and forth a few times to re-read the hint. The hint didn't really leave the screen until we were either done with the puzzle or got a new hint, so it was really nice! Overall we had a great experience and barely escaped with like ~5 minutes left! It was a pretty tough one - some puzzles were more straightforward but others were a pretty tough. I did like the concepts of some puzzles and found it unique compared to what I've encountered in other escape rooms. 10/10 recommend! Definitely coming back to try out their other rooms.
