Super fun great time, it's really challenging but it's dope, everyone was super chill

Outpost. We almost ran out of oxygen !

This place has great examples of two Gen 1 rooms and the amount of locks and keys were not overbearing. The set design was simple. Not immersive like a lot of the newer rooms coming out these days. There's a lot of elements that will be familiar to enthusiasts. Not having much context with some of the clues made it a bit tricky but not impossible. Beware of the red herrings! I definitely caught a little brain burn from those! The size of the rooms are alright but four would be best. Our group had fun but we all agreed that the pricing is a bit steep for these type of rooms. If it was a Gen 3 room and more immersive then the pricing would be reasonable. The Nixon staff was kind and welcoming and I wish this new company the best!!! Welcome to the escape room community!

I figured I'd update my review from 2022 because as of now, this location has completely rotated…read moreout its predecessor games (Exodus). Toria, our host was friendly and ensured we had a great experience, going above and beyond what I typically see from most gamemasters. The new games are Vampire vs. Witch and Black Hole. I would strongly recommend Vampire vs. Witch with a smaller group and have the roles swapped out afterwards so you can best experience both puzzle tracks. I would say that, for a 15 minute game, Vampire vs. Witch was pretty cool, definitely worth the small price and would work well if you didn't have too much time or wanted a warmup for either Fatal Invitation or Black Hole. For Chinese speakers, there's also the option to switch the language in the room, but when I played the default was English. There's also an integrated hint system which allows you to communicate through a tablet, which doubles as your timer for the room. Despite having some minor technical issues on a follow-up visit with a different gamemaster, we did have a backup walkie so make sure to keep that one close by as well. Overall, I thought that these were fun rooms that, without giving away too much, challenged the norms of typical escape game style puzzles in a way that was refreshing and cleverly entertaining.

However, we came across Escape Duck, and we both happy to hear they accept walk-in! Another criteria I was looking for was a beginner friendly escape room. After chatting with the staff, we decided to do the Sherlock experience. Luckily, that room was still opened even at around 4 pm. We spent the entire hour in there and were close to finishing. Overall, we were both very engaged, but enjoyed the experience. I would come back to try the other rooms in the future. In terms of payment, keep in mind that they do not accept card payment. They do accept Venmo or Zelle.

Unfortunately two of our team members accidentally went to the Red Lantern chinese restaurant that's about 0.5 miles away but he was nice and waited for them to arrive, but definitely don't make the same mistake! Come early to make the most of the escape room and not lose time! The room itself is gorgeous, it really immerses you in the story and the space is so large it was perfect for a team of 5 but can hold even more than that. The puzzle difficulty was not too bad for a team of 3 veterans and 2 first timers, although we took almost the whole hour, some of the puzzles were very straight forward and some may not have been but the answers are generally right in front of you. It was a good mix of Gen 1 and new Gen technology but moreso leaning toward Gen 1. But still did not disappoint at all and the story made the satisfaction of moving forward even better. I wouldn't categorize this room as scary but it has a slightly spooky theme. No in room actors. GM was very helpful and communicative and would jump in to help if we had the right concept but maybe off a smidge especially if our time was cutting close which we appreciated! Overall a pretty great room with great company and not too complex that it would scare away a newcomer, I would say 5-6 people is a good number for this room to conquer puzzles simultaneously! Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

We did both escape rooms at the same day and boy it was so fun!…read more I love that the puzzles are axtually challenging and thought provoking! I'd say one of the best escape rooms wev'e done recently. Love how interactive and fun the rooms are! I thought the zombie room was really good, but the magical room was even better i'd say. I love both, and would recommend for people to do both rooms. It was all worth the fun and adventure! wish they had more rooms. Also, the game master was nice and was very accomodating. He followed us through our progress and helped when we felt stuck. Recommended 1000/10

We did the Magic Cottage which was super interactive. I've never done an escape room before but the rest of my family has. I didn't know what to expect, but the rest of my family said this one was better than others. The 3-D effects and all the cool puzzles make it so entertaining! One thing tho, when you get told "clues/directions" you have to listen good. Like, no one should be talking/whispering as it's difficult to hear otherwise. I'd definitely recommend checking out this place! There was limited street parking in front, but there was a lot across the street. I'm not sure if you have to pay or if it was free.

Escapade Games - October 2019 - The first Zoe was so good we had to come back a second time with other friends.

This is an update to our review of Escapade Games, and we really lucked out in our choice of…read moreRockin' around the Christmas Tree. Almost all of Escapade Games' rooms have a horror element and are obviously targeted towards the colleges nearby, but not only was Rockin' adapted to accommodate parties of two; for this season, it was themed to fit the holidays. We also got a very pleasant surprise when it came time to pay for our online reservation: it was half the price of a standard room for a party of 8! This was a (happy) shock because we are used to paying for 3 or 4, even though we are a duo. The 2025 Pineapple Express had slowed to a steady trickle by the time we arrived at Escapade Games Christmas Eve after a music-less British pub lunch less than a two-minute drive away. The cavernous restrooms, located outside the lobby, were clean, and the lobby looked like it was in the midst of some renovation, but another game was going on, and since we already filled out our waivers, we settled down to wait for our game to start. And waited. And waited. And waited. When we finally started our hour-long game, after the technical difficulties were resolved and the game rules reminders given, all was forgiven very fast: as a bonus to playing a game that was getting ready to be put out of commission, we could take unlimited photos in the room! And there was so much to do in the music-themed room: even though not all the instruments were playable, and there were still minor glitches as we were playing, Joey was a terrific game host - he, too, made a quick recovery from the technical issues and was as determined as we were to have a phenomenal game. There was no timer in the room, but going by our photos, we were done in 52:48, with a lot of help. Our favourite puzzles had to do with the picks and bands, and playing the instruments to rise back up to the top of the pops as rockstars is such an original theme. The music played put us in the holiday mood - especially "The 12 Days of Christmas". That's probably not our favourite Christmas song, but it helped that I just got done with Susan Stokes-Chapman's holiday short story collection! Rockin' around the Christmas Tree is set to what we consider 3-G (Generation 3, with a lot of computer FX elements) tasks with G-1 locks, and, despite the late start, was very much the best Christmas present to set us off on our holidays! Joey, our heroic gamemaster, was a huge part of the fun game we had. We could tell he had started off not having such a good Christmas because the room's serious technical issues were clearly unexpected, but he fixed everything so that we could have a great time. We eventually realized the fantastic price we paid was not just because our game, unlike other Escapade rooms, did not feature a live actor in the room. Even more importantly, we only found out, after our game, that the room was being taken down to make way for a three-room movie-based horror adventure. We are so, so glad that we got to experience Rockin' around the Christmas Tree before it was dismantled, and keep our fingers crossed it gets a spectacular comeback in the near future (like the rockstars we were supposed to be!) That said, we are looking forward to checking out anything else Escapade Games has to offer - can't wait for more games in 2026! This review is duplicated on Yelp and Google.

I rarely leave reviews, but this one deserves it…read more I did Zoe v1 years ago and it was one of the escape rooms that originally got me hooked on the hobby. Coming back for the updated version, I honestly didn't expect it to top the first one -- but it absolutely did. The new ownership has taken everything that worked and elevated it, and the holiday Kruppes theme added such a unique twist without losing the spirit of the original. The set design, immersion, and overall tension are on a whole new level. Shoutout to Emily and Bree for making our experience incredible -- their energy and commitment made a huge difference. Already planning to come back in February for the Valentine's variant. If you're on the fence, just go. It's worth it.
