You booked an island vacation, and you somehow ended up in the ocean, paddling for your life to an island. The locals are not friendly and will...i forget what we were running from, to not get eaten? haha. We were chasing the guy who was here before us, leaving us clues on how to survive. I bought the groupon $39 for 2 deal for Island Paradise. The groupon is not applicable to the other game Heritage. Two of us came and joined a group of 4 for a total of 6 players. I feel like this game is do-able with 2, but better with 4 people. The square footage is smaller, so any more than 6 players will be wasted brains. I'm glad we could join another group, because with 2 it would have been hard. There were mostly first generation puzzles...concentration puzzles, number and letter locks, direction locks, searching, creative use of props, map reading skills. Having completed 5 rooms so far, I got stuck on one particular puzzle. I guess it wasn't very clear to me and kind of confusing. We got out with 2 minutes left! whoo hoo! Theme: low production value. The theme is strong throughout, but cheap props and no technology. Story line and props can be made stronger. Hint system: unlimited. The game master will come to your door to tell you. Tip: you may get a little dirty (it will wash off) so don't wear nice shoes (mine got temporary stain), don't wear a lot of nice jewelry on your hand or wrists. Difficulty: 7 out of 10. Price: $28. very good. Cheaper than most rooms in Los Angeles. If you're in Redlands or IE and looking for something to do, you will have fun with friends or strangers here. read more

This was my 2nd time doing an escape room and I can say that I did have a lot of fun. The one we did was called escape from paradise and we were pitted against four of our friends who were put into a different room. Our main goal was to solve all the puzzles one by one until we were able to find the idol, which is meant for the natives of the island so we could escape. The entire time, I felt as though my friends and I were a bit too anxious throughout the entire ordeal. And because of this, we asked for quite a few hints. Most of these hints should have been obvious from the start, but when you're competing against your friends, your mind is a bit all over the place. It was overall a very fun experience and I would gladly come back here. Even though the design of the rooms aren't amazing, what mattered was that the puzzles were extremely challenging! read more

This experience was easily the worst one I've ever had in an escape room (this being my 7th room). I wish I could give it zero stars. I was only allowed to use the Summer School Breakout (due to a Groupon) which was the room I had the least amount of interest in. Now on to the actual room, It was difficult but in a cheap way, A poorly designed room being unnecessarly dark(which was a "cheap" way of making it difficult) also the game master couldn't properly observe what was happening due to the darkness. However, I am doubtful they were properly observing the room due to the fact I heard quite a bit of talking in the hallway while our game was going on and when we did ask for clues we were typically met with delays before receiving clues. Forcing us to explain in depth what we need help with. But the worst offense being that we asked TWICE for a clue and it took a solid FIVE MINUTES before we received a clue. Don't get me wrong, of all the other escape rooms I have done I have loved them all even with their flaws but I have no intention of returning to Vector Escape Games due to the poor handling of this experience. The first struggle in escaping this room, is actually finding it. With a location tucked on the back side of some industrial type buildings hides Vector. No signs telling you where to go, and no visible markings on the building itself. After a quick Google check of the address, and a very tentative walk through the doors we arrived. We have a semi-experienced escape room group of about 20 rooms or so, and decided to take on The Inheritance. Our game master was very welcoming and showed some acting chops while setting the mood for our room. The theme was refreshing, and the atmosphere is great from the second the door closes. The puzzles are a mix of classic locks and clever puzzles. The added effect of chants and verbal puzzles is what really sets the room apart from some of the others. Not a difficult room for experienced groups, but an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Once we finally found it. Looking forward to trying out the other two rooms at the location. read more

Overall, the experience was good. Customer service was good. My only complaint is that some of the stuff was not set up in the room. I had great time with my friends. The lady took pictures of all of us. She explained the rules and storyline well. I can't say too much about the room because I don't want to ruin it for the next group. We have done about 10 escape rooms, and this one is at the bottom of the list - we will not go back for their other rooms; we did the Island Paradise (or something to that affect) We did escape, but we had several first timers with us, and because of this room, they got a bad view of escape rooms. The host was great and friendly - but that's about the only good thing about this place. The lobby is very plain and does not help to set the mood like other we've been too. I was so exciting at first, because our group was separated at the start of the game, but quickly realized this didn't add to the adventure of the game at all. The room was very tacky with sparse and cheap decor. Most of the puzzle had nothing to do with the theme and they were all the same types of locks. The decor that was there, had been well used, and no care was taken to fix anything after each use. read more

If you're an escape room enthusiast, AVOID AT ALL COST. You will be highly disappointed. Upon arrival, there are no signs on the building indicating there's an escape room. You walk inside and the waiting/sign-in area is low budget. The hosts were nice and welcoming but that's about the only thing positive I can say about this company. My team and I have done 70+ rooms and their "Island Paradise" room was by far the CRAPPIEST, cheesiest, most low budget room we've ever done (and believe me we've done some poor quality rooms). The room itself looked like they bought everything from the dollar tree. The furniture was old and outdated, the decorations could've been done better by my 9 year old, and their "hint" system was a disgrace because they had to actually walk in the room to give us a hint. The room was non-linear but had no flow to it, made absolutely no sense, and seemed like it was just thrown together. I really can't believe they've gotten people to pay to do that room. Oh and to add insult to injury, one of the drawers was broken; so once my team "unlocked" it, it wouldn't pop open like it was supposed to. The host had to come in and literally yank the drawer loose. Anyway, again by far the worse room we've done. I'm embarrassed to even say I participated. Save your money. If you want a great quality room (s), check out Unity Escapes, The Basement in LA, and Crossroads Escape games in Fullerton. Well worth the money! And to the owners of Vector Escape Games, go do a few escape rooms so you can see what's out there and what's worth paying for and what's not. read more

Would not recommend. We had 2 puzzles that the game master had to come in and tell us the puzzle is missing pieces, and instead of going and getting the missing items, he just gave us the answer. Also, the whole time we were in the room we kept hearing people shouting, not this could have been part of the escape room, but hearing "Boy I'm gonna get you for that!" is not my idea of natives cannibals coming to eat me. The game room design was horrible and appeared to be constructed out of cheap items. I do not recommend this company if you are looking for an amazing escape room experience in the Inland Empire. Being a native to the area and having been to the surrounding escape rooms in Redlands, I was excited to try this place. Unfortunately, the experience was not ideal and I would give this place no stars if possible. Our group had a total of five and we did the paradise room on a Saturday night. Upon walking in, we were met with a large air conditioner unit with large pipping running up the wall behind it, blowing in our face as we stood at the counter. The young man at the counter looked liked we was about 18 or 19 and was unprofessional and completely lacked customer service/human interaction skills. He did not greet us, asked us who booked the room and asked if we had done an escape room before. What was strange about this entire exchange was that he hardly looked up at us while talking and it was quite obvious he did not want to be there. I did not even get his name. He then told us "oh you know the rules" and then proceeded to walk away. Our group assumed he wanted us to follow him which we did and when we got in the room we asked him about how we ask for hints/clues. I guess it never dawned on him to explain that to us and again this is not the first time me our the group has done escape rooms. He told us to wave our hands and he would come in to help. Again, this was strange as other escape rooms either use a walkie talkie or some other electronic device to give clues while you are in a room. At this point, even with the horrible customer service, me and the group were still hopeful the puzzles in the room would still be worth it. Sadly, we were wrong. It was clear that the 18-19 year old kid was not watching us. At one point, we opened a small latched door that sounded like it broke when it opened. We immediately felt horrible about possibly breaking something and I waived my arms to get his attention but nothing. Shortly after, we got stuck on a puzzle and again waived our arms and nothing. What made it even more frustrating was that we could hear talking outside our door and at one point, someone banged hard and repeatedly on the window. It startled all of us and we could hear giggling. I have no idea what the point of it was. Sadly, the only way we got the employee's attention was by knocking loudly on the door. When he finally came in, he realized there was a clue out of place. Something should have been locked in a drawer that wasn't. He tried to blame us for doing it instead of apologizing for not having the clues organized. When he came in again to give us other clues he was not only super vague but short with us. Again, his lack of people skills/customer service was clear. Having a worker come into an escape room is just bizarre to begin with and completely ruins the experience so at this point, I and the group were just baffled. As we continued through the room, we noticed a lot of the clues were not well kept. The page with the symbols was faded in places and difficult to read and there was a typo in one of the written clues. The decor was also in need of some TLC as some decorations were falling off the wall and some pieces of furniture were damaged. And to end the experience, when we finally solved the room, the employee was no where to be found. Again, probably because he was not watching us. We actually opened the door ourselves and went to find him. Sadly, our group will not be back. My recommendation to the owner is to first, retrain your staff. Staff not only represent you but represent your business. Hopefully, some changes can be made. My guess is the young man running the room that night must some how be related to the owner and I would be shocked if he was the owner. I would also recommend having a walkie-talkie system for clues. Our group had a long discussion out in front of the business after we left. The price per person was far more expensive than any of the surrounding escape rooms and we unanimously decided it is not worth it at all. To our surprise, we out stayed the employees as we saw the young man and a young girl get into their car, blast their music up and race away down the office complex. Yeah, he definitely did not want to be there, we could tell that the second we met him. Again, if I could give this place no stars I would. I do not recommend it. If you are looking for professional, quality service with escape rooms in the Inland Empire/Redlands area go to Unity or Open Door. read more

So my boyfriend had bought me and some friends to do an escape room here and we decided to come on a Saturday. We never have done an escape room before so we didn't know what to expect. The receptionist was welcoming and answered all of our 100 questions. We didn't make it out but it was a great first experience and we will defiantly be back. My advice to anyone that goes is to communicate! Communicate, communicate, communicate that's what jacked us up so hopefully next time we'll do better! read more

Me and my friends have done a few local escape rooms and some in La and of course they are so much fun but I wanted to talk about the experience I had today We came to this escape room on a Groupon that my friend bout and we played the Island room and got out with 7 minutes to spare! We were so excited and the host mentioned they had other rooms so we asked how much and they gave us a great deal for playing back to back games and we did the inheritance room. It was so cool they had locks that we never seen before and it really made us feel like we were MAGICAL! It was something that we never have have done before and it was so worth it. Started my daughters birthday night here at Vector. This was our first escape room and we had a blast! We selected the paradise island room. The eight of us split up into two rooms and had to compete against each other. Losing team had to buy drinks for us all so the pressure was on... sad to say but neither of us escaped but we made it to the last clue. Maybe you forgot your on an ISLAND! and not in Beverly Hills. I saw nothing wrong with the Island atmosphere and I had to take into consideration that I wasn't the first person to be pulling and yanking on the locks or drawers... the crowd we were with, we had fun and enjoyed the communication and laughter it took to solve our escape! overall, the experience I and the others had, we were greatly impressed with the time and thought put into the "inland room" we will be back to see what the other room(s) have to offer ! read more

Originally it was for my son's birthday but he got sick at the last minute and the allowed us to reschedule for another time(also last minute). The kids had a great time. This was our first time trying an escape room. Although it was fun, the place definitely needs some upgrades. We did a late game and had trouble finding the place since we didn't notice a company sign. The guy behind the counter was friendly although a bit unprofessional. He didn't really make the story line exciting and when we walked in the room we were kind of disappointed on how simple and old everything was. All in all it was ok. If they upgraded their rooms I think it would be pretty nice.
