I came here after leaving Bardot around the corner because they were convenient and local and I didn't think that this place was my vibe because I'm very sheltered and scared to go out of my comfort zone. But I came here with a friend and my Bartender Candice made it feel really welcoming and she makes the best drinks and I had the gray goose and cranberry juice and she made it just right with her. I'll start off saying I love sand bar. It's been my go to bar since I've moved to the area. As of a few weeks ago i have seen some inexcusable behavior from one of the female bartenders kayla. She says racial slurs, rude, and doesnt care if she loses business. Overall makes the bar looks like crap when she's working. When she's also not working she just gets sloppy drunk at the bar top. So my wife & I recently moved to the area and decided to come to this bar down a couple blocks. We had an absolutely TERRIBLE experience. Not only was the beer flat and clearly old, but the bartender with the short bleached hair was also blatantly racist, and the comments she made were terrible/unprofessional. It was shocking to experience such poor service even after seeing this place have 4stars. We couldn't enjoy our drinks because of the negativity we heard our whole visit, and honestly it's disgusting. Also, be aware it's called "bar and grill" but they have no food, not even a kitchen which was a let down. We will not be returning and would advise others to avoid this bar unless they want to be treated poorly and served terrible drinks. I happen to come here on a Tuesday night, which is karaoke night, and had a blast. This place is a great dive bar. Stiff drinks, good draft selection and a solid karaoke dj. In the back, they had a couple of pool tables, seems like a good place to have a beer and shoot some pool. I really like this spot! It has a few pool tables you pay for with cash. I think its like 5 dollars for few games or you can choose by time. They do have an atm inside! Parking doesn't have the largest lot, but I uber/lyft from nearby so it's no problem for me. $10 for a pitcher of budlight! The restroom is clean, has soap and towels, and a mirror, but it's only a single bathroom. The bartenders are very nice and helpful. They also have a jukebox since it's a small spot, the pool tables fill up fast. Come early or wait your turn! I had a great time & will be back for sure. read more

Came here after work to check it out and have to say pretty disappointed. I have no idea why they call it the sand bar and grill. There's no sand no beach theme no decorations it's very plain, there's also no music or background noise it was me and another table but it was uncomfortably quiet I literally bought tokens for the touch tunes just so there was music. There's also no food either not sure why grill is in your name. Beer selection is meh too didn't have much of a variety on tap. The Sand Bar is a pretty cool hidden bar and place to hang out. I like how it's clean, intimate, and never too crazy. One thing I would recommend is getting the bartender help, she is amazing and tries her best to be quick to get your order but when you have 20 people trying to ask you for a drink the wait time can be long. Cops were called, most of the troublemakers left and lots of punk rock music was played. Painfully slow, mediocre service by a frazzled bartender w/ black straight across bangs on a slow weekday night. Floors were mopped around 1am w/ no announcement or wet floor signs (wet floors + drunk people = great combo :-) Most bars close at 2am, however this one closes exactly 15 minutes before w/ the bartender literally snatching your drink out of your hand. Came here on a Wednesday evening to play some pool and grab a few drinks. It's a bigger place than it seems on the outside, with an entire room dedicated to pool tables. The crowd here seems very local but is friendly and welcoming to newcomers. Someone even came and found me to let me know that my friend's trunk was open in the parking lot! Drinks are well priced. We ordered four or five hard alcohol drinks and paid $28 total. Only downside is that there is one single bathroom, which makes for long lines. read more

I tried this place out this past saturday and it's difficult to describe this place because the quality of the place is really all relative. When i first walked in i immediately thought it was a 2 or 3 star place. It looked dingy and reminded me of a place you would come across at a truck stop. There weren't many people there and it was definitely a random and small crowd. It seemed like it was a place where mainly regulars go. It was also really dark and many of the stools were not sturdy. But as I stayed to drink it definitely grew on me. I didn't check out the prices for mixed drinks but they had 12$ pitchers of beer and they had a great selection (stella, shock top, pomona queen, hanger 24, from what i was able to see). The size of the place is decent and since it wasn't extremely crowded, you had lots of space and its easy to talk to friends because the noise level isn't too high. It also had a jukebox and many people played a lot of great songs. As it got later in the night, the crowd grew a little, but it was still far from crowded. It's not the best place and I think I would have probably given it 3 stars. But, considering the options in the area, i feel like it is definitely one of the best I've come across. I think its a great place to go hang out with friends, but not an ideal place to meet new people. read more
