We celebrated my wife's surprise 75th birthday with a luncheon at this local gem. The service exceeded expectations; staff were attentive, professional, and made the event feel special. Our guests repeatedly praised the service and the consistently excellent food--there were no complaints, only compliments. Prices for food and beverages were very reasonable, and the view from the windows provided a lovely backdrop. Their team anticipated our needs and ensured a memorable afternoon. We left grateful for their care and will certainly return. Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a warm and well-executed celebration. Good Service, great food, excellent drinks, all made for a memorable afternoon. Thank you 1906!

Great brunch options. Outdoor patio seating next to the golf course. Live music Wednesday and trivia night Tuesday. Service can be a little slow - laid back atmosphere.

Restaurant at the golf course, super beautiful views! The service was awesome, food was delicious, and drinks were strong! The chicken wings were definitely a hit, sticky ribs were perfectly cooked! For my main ordered the steak with chimichurri sauce. Cooked to perfection, sauce was yummy! Highly recommend sitting outside especially before it starts to get cold! They do have a banquet hall for events, they also have indoor seating and a full bar!

I'm the luckiest man in the world! We had the most unforgettable wedding at 1906

My wife and I had the most unforgettable wedding at 1906 in Upland, CA, and we are still blown away by how perfect everything was. From start to finish, this venue made us feel completely at home, it's naturally beautiful, warm, and full of love! A very special thank you goes to Alyssa Brush, the Event Sales Director, who was nothing short of extraordinary. Her communication was clear, consistent, and professional, and she guided us with kindness, patience, and the most humble spirit. Alyssa made the entire process smooth and stress-free, and we truly felt cared for every step of the way. Her entire staff deserves just as much praise. Every single person at 1906 was energetic, friendly, and incredibly professional. You can tell they love what they do, because it shows in the service, the atmosphere, and the care they bring to every detail. 1906 isn't just a venue, it's a place filled with people who genuinely want your day to be amazing. We are so grateful for the unforgettable experience and will forever cherish the memories made here. We now go to 1906 just for brunch or date night - there is always something going on there, we love it! Thank you, 1906, and thank you Alyssa, for giving us the wedding of our dreams!

Served during a company Christmas party at Upland 1906. The beef had a noticeable gamey smell and was very dry and tough. The bread left a gummy, sticky aftertaste. Overall disappointing。

I've been going to 1906 for years. Today I tried the bbq chicken salad and it was so delicious! Joanna was an incredible server and took great care of us. One of my favorite places to meet up with my girls! This place never disappoints.

    Lovely patio !

1906 Inc is located in Upland at the Upland Hills Country Club. (Please note this is open to the public - you do NOT need a tee time or membership to come)! There is a large parking lot with plenty of parking. At this location you'll find indoor and outdoor seating with a lovely patio area complete with umbrellas for warmer days and heaters for the chilly ones ... we chose to sit outside, it was a beautiful day and enjoyed watching the ducks on the green as well as the fountain. I truthfully didn't expect the food to be as good as it was !! The chef here is doing great things ! We started with the shrimp lettuce cups - sauce was amazing, just a little kick to it! We also tried the Catalina sandwich with fries - flavorful and amazing, crispy fries ! Then went with the chorizo eggs Benedict and WOW what a show stopper it was!! We had a round of golf to get to and were pleasantly surprised when our waitress told us she woke bring us plastic cups because we were allowed to take them to go on the course ! Amazing ! Our waitress Emma was awesome , very sweet and made recommendations when asked . She was very attentive to us. They offer taco Tuesday specials, brunch and currently are offering MLB specials as the baseball season just started. This is a hidden gem and we can't wait to come back to try more of their items !

My…read moresister found it when we were desperate to find a location for a Celebration of Life service for my son. Hidden Oaks was perfect! We had a short time frame, a tight budgets (his death was a surprise, which makes for a surprise budget as well), and a whole lot of unknowns -- like how many guests there would be. That's rough event planning. Sheryl and our coordinator Lyndsay were incredibly flexible, kind, and understanding. I will always be grateful to them for this. We paid for the additional assistance of two staffers -- Helping Hands, for $20 per hour. Well-worth it, and they were lovely. Highly recommend. Lyndsay was an absolute SAINT putting up with all our question marks on this day. She was calm, professional, and had everything under control. Since I was crying half the time, I was very thankful for her presence. Our guests were blown away with how beautiful the venue was. Most guests were local and they were as surprised as we were! So here's what you need to know about this venue: --it is gorgeous, shady, clean and just lovely. Perfect for a smallish event of about 100-200, IMO. --it is disabled accessible, although it is a historical property. --you cannot hear the freeway at all once you are inside the venue --pricing is VERY reasonable and you won't have a catering minimum. --it has Padua Hills vibes, but the catering minimum there is $10K and you have to use their caterer -- no thank you. --big money saver: they have tables, chairs, umbrellas, and they set up of all that. You only need to rent linens. --There is a kitchen, but it is not really for cooking. More for staging and refilling. It has a commercial fridge and a freezer, so we kept ice and extra cheese and desserts to refill. The caterers used it, but we didn't cook there. --it has both indoor and outdoor spaces, which makes it great for rain plans. --there is no alcohol, no smoking of any kind, and music needs to be the Disney version. It is owned by a Christian church, so values need to align there. They mean these things. Respect this. For us, this was no problem, since we needed a sober venue for the respect of some of our guests. We simply printed a disclaimer on our invitations. --you probably need extra signage at the entrance because it is easy to miss. You need to allow time for people to get in if you have a lot of guests. --Cheryl was organized -- we had a pre-meeting where she gave us a tour and a folder of all the details (table sizes, rules, helpful vendor contacts, etc) In our case, we welcomed guests on the north side of the building, had an espresso bar on the west patio, then directed guests to the back yard where the gazebo is. We held the "ceremony" part of the event by the gazebo, but we didn't really decorate at all (we didn't want it to feel like a wedding). Then we invited guests into the house and to the north side of the property, where one would normally have a reception for snacks and socializing. There are lots of little rooms and places where groups of guests can socialize within the house. For us, that worked because groups of my son's friends could reminisce together in their own social groups. We had no real need for flowers, because the facility was beautiful by itself. I hope this venue helps!

There are so many varieties of California native plants and they do have a nursery that is usually open a few days a week but is closed for Summer and reopening in October, 2026. What I love about this property is the sprawling amount of walkway to take a nice walk. You'll find enough shade along the way but many parts are not shaded. The pathways are decomposed granite, concrete and or asphalt so it's like hiking in nature but without the dirt road or elevation gain. I also really love that it's not crowded here. It's also smack dab in the middle of nature so you will occasionally see wild animal poop on a path, cracks that have not been repaired, but none of that really bothers me. There are plenty of benches along the path and a restroom on one side of the property so plan accordingly. They used to have a nice gift shop here and novelties like hats, t shirts, children's toys, books are now displayed in a small outdoor kiosk near to where you check in. California Botanic Garden is a member of the American Horticultural Network of Gardens (AHS). So if you have an annual membership at one of the participating Gardens associated with AHS Gardens you automatically have access to visit all of the gardens in network, unlimited visits for no additional charge. It is nice being a member at one garden and having access to visit hundreds of gardens. Currently, 380 gardens participate in this Network throughout parts of United States and Territories of U.S.A., Canada, and Cayman Islands. https://ahsgardening.org/ahs-garden-network/ I copy and pasted the exerpt below from AI but it has been a treat to see the blooms and how they change color, specifically Native California Buckwheat which can be seen along many hills and roadsides in California. To observe how the plant changes and matures in different seasons is quite fascinating: "Native California Buckwheat flowers start out white (or pale pink/creamy) and transition through shades of orange, cinnamon, rust, and deep red-brown as they age and dry out into summer and fall. Flower Color Changes Fresh Blooms (Spring): Tiny clusters open up as bright, clean white or pale pink. Aging and Drying (Summer): As the weather heats up and soil dries, the petals shift into rusty orange, copper, and tan. Late Season (Fall/Winter): The spent flower heads mature into deep rust-red and chocolate brown tones across the hillsides." I truly enjoy seeing the change of colors on each visit, they are so bright and vibrant! Look for it, and you will find a lot of beauty in the varied California native plant foliage and blooms on this property. Visiting seasonally gives the best picture. For example, The 1000's of large Matilija poppies which resemble a crinkly giant sunny side up egg just finished peak bloom a few months ago. They will be back!

The restaurant and food are definitely giving Hawaii vibes. This is the type of restaurant where you order and pay before they seat you. It took a while to order, but once we were seated our food came out right away. You will more than likely wait in line, but it's worth the wait. They have a lot of staff members that continually check on you at your table. The food is delicious! We both had the loco moco, one with fried rice and one with steamed rice. The fried rice is top tier! We both ordered a side of spam and the Portuguese sausage. Every single thing on our plates was finger licking good, but my favorite thing was my Ube iced coffee. It was delicious and not too sweet which is a huge plus for me. The only downside is that now I want to plan a trip to Hawaii. Lol I highly recommend you go eat at Scramblers Cafe.

Unfortunately, they weren't really my style. The sauce had a tangy flavor that just wasn't for me. If you enjoy a brighter, more acidic profile, you may like it, but I tend to prefer a richer, more traditional flavor. The coffees leaned more toward being lightly sweetened specialty drinks than bold, robust coffee. They tasted more like a dessert or treat than an actual cup of coffee. Again, that's just my preference. I like my coffee strong. As for the pancakes and waffles, they definitely looked great and had that Instagram-worthy presentation. But once you got past the aesthetics and unique menu options, the flavor itself didn't really stand out. Personally, I still enjoy breakfast at places like Denny's, IHOP, Cracker Barrel, or even a good local mom-and-pop diner more. Overall, everything felt... pretty mid. Nothing was bad, but nothing really wowed me either. I also think this comes down to the type of experience you're looking for. Scramblers seems to cater more to a younger, social media-driven crowd. The staff was polite and friendly, but the service felt more scripted than heartfelt. They had pleasant voices and good manners, but I personally value service that feels genuine and naturally welcoming over rehearsed hospitality. At the end of the day, I'm just more of an old-school, traditional breakfast guy. If you're into trendy brunch spots with photogenic dishes and creative drinks, Scramblers might be exactly what you're looking for. It just wasn't quite my cup of coffee. My rating: 6.5/10. Worth trying once to see if it's your style, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return.
