Our friends are regulars, and after our visit, we can definitely see why. We were seated right away with no wait at all. Was shopping in the area and decided to try this place again. Glad we did. It was cool inside and felt comfortable. Got seated right away and server was right there. We started with loaded fries and caprese salad. Both were delicious. The loaded fries were excellent. Skinny fries no coating. It had melted cheese and lots of bacon. I would order again. The caprese was good. Fresh mozzarella and firm tomato slices with shredded basil and oil and balsamic. I ordered the orange chicken. It was delicious. I would definitely order that again. My son had a buffalo chicken salad. He said it was good. We also had the churros. Very good, comes with chocolate and Carmel sauce. Very yummy. Our server was great. I had not been here in years, but visited this past weekend for dinner before the kids headed out to prom! It was nice to enjoy dinner with them before hand! I had made reservations via text from the number on their website. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated right away. There's plenty of seating. The bar was super busy and there were games being shown on the large televisions. The dining room was less crowded and the noise level was not bad at all. Our server was wonderful and knew the menu well. They made the time really special for all of us, but especially the kids. There were a couple other prom parties there as well. For starters, we ordered the Sticky Pork Bites and they were delicious! For the main course, I went with the Dill Butter Salmon: fresh king salmon, dill butter sauce, fresh steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. It was VERY good and very fresh. Others in our party ordered the chicken Marsala, pasta bolognese, and orange chicken. Everyone enjoyed their meal! I haven't been here in a lot of years. I wanted to see if maybe the food would have improved it. We ordered the chicken and waffles and huevos rancheros, we were seated quickly, and the waitress was just fine. Nothing particular spectacular about the chicken waffles. Just basically chicken fingers on top of some waffles. My wife told me that the huevos rancheros were OK nothing to write home about. If you're coming here for dinner just or lunch it'll do the job but don't expect too much. It's just one of those mediocre places that'll get it done. read more

Our recent visit to The Heights was absolutely worth it. My wife ordered the short rib dinner with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables, and everything was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. I had the Better Bacon Wedge, which was fresh, crisp, and loaded with flavor. We also shared the Elote Dip, and it was the perfect starter. Great food, relaxing atmosphere, and excellent service. Went to a Saturday lunch with some family and my girlfriend to The Heights in Upland and it was, to put it mildly, not worth the climb. We were able to seat ourselves in the bar area without waiting or reservations, as there were plenty of tables and booths available. We were greeted by a friendly server who welcomed us with waters as well as mentioning that the appetizer special was homemade spinach artichoke dip and freshly-made tortilla chips. We proceeded to order and requested to enjoy that starter while we think about the menu. A few at our table opted for the Pulled Pork Sandwich (tossed in an Apple Cider BBQ sauce, topped with Cole Slaw, Onion Straws on a Brioche Bun), while I went with the Turkey Melt (switched from Provolone to Cheddar, Applewood Bacon, Tomatoes, on a Parmesan Grilled Sourdough). The other family member went with the Sourdough Burger (Swiss, Tomato, Applewood Bacon on a Parmesan Grilled Sourdough). The starter came out with the drinks in a hot skillet. First of all, the dip was way too watery and not creamy...at all. Also, my girlfriend noticed a long black hair in her spoonful. She didn't bring it up the server at the time, but perhaps she should have. Not sure where the homemade part was featured, but usually, in my experience, Spinach Artichoke dip is creamy and this was runny and not flavorful. The "homemade" chips were not warm and not made fresh. Overall, a huge disappointment. The entrees were mediocre, at best. My Turkey Melt was dry and average, while the side salad that I chose for my meal don't come with the proper dressing at first, and took a few tries to get the correct flavors sent over to the table. My other family members said they liked their sandwiches, but for me, this place didn't deliver on much else besides a nice place to watch a game, have a drink, socialize on a great outdoor patio space with friends, and sift through below-average food offerings. There are a lot of other food options in the area, including a few I have reviewed in lovely Downtown Claremont Village. Plenty of retail shop parking, clean restrooms should you decide to give The Heights a shot. For me, it won't be worth a second trip. read more

We come here about once a month when craving a nice meal out, they have a good drink menu, variety of appetizers and entrees- something for everyone. We were doing a leisure activity in Upland and thought we'd try a new place for us in the area. The Heights is on the outskirts of a shopping center and has a neighborhood bar and grill feel. They have outdoor patio seating, bar seating, and dining room seating. They have happy hour food specials every day from 2pm to 5pm. We were greeted by our server Ethan who took good care of us. They have a good drink and wine menu. I ordered a glass of Austin Hope cab since I knew I would be having a steak and my girlfriend ordered the Pearly Legal cocktail. Her drink was served in a water glass which was a little underwhelming and she didn't realize the cider was carbonated but she said it was ok. We started with the Ahi Tuna cocktail appetizer. The ahi being served in a bar glass was a little hokey but it had great flavor with the soy based marinade and avocado chunks. For my entrée, I ordered the ribeye with double veggies. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and had a great grilled flavor. The veggies were fresh and not frozen. She ordered the buffalo chicken salad. Went for dinner and they had us standing around the bar section instead of seating us in the all open seats that were available until we asked if we could sit since it wasn't crowded. They seated us and then nobody helped us for about 20 minutes until my boyfriend went and asked the bartender for drinks. I was getting my hair done and my stylist recommended The Heights for lunch. I was immediately welcomed when I walked in and really took to the "chill" yet classy decor. Since I was alone, I just sat at the bar. Mandy took such great care of me and was an absolute delight, with the best personality. They have a great selection of salads, which is what I was in the mood for on such a hot day. And the sparkling Rosè wine was on special. WIN! My steak salad was absolutely delicious and fresh. We've been supporting The Heights for nearly 11 years and we wish there were more options. Cliff the owner is oblivious to his patrons, and their needs. Let us start with wanting a simple turkey burger or any other non-meat meals. They do not offer or are really concerned with expanding the menu to include a complete variety that wold be very welcomed. Another thing, for the unvaccinated there doesn't seem to be any concern whatsoever. While the do provide outside dining they do not provide heaters, is that too much to ask? We're really satisfied with The Heights, I just wishthey were more accommodating to us long time patrons. And I'm sure that this would go a long way for everyone. read more

Don't understand the 3 1/2 stars, this place was amazing. I had the special, the Chilean sea bass, which was the best cooked piece of fish I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection, soft, flaky and delicious. My husband got the ribeye, which again was cooked to perfection. It was the best cut of meat and tender that it melted like butter as you ate it. Service was good didn't wait too long for anything. Really like the new remodel, they put in dampers so that the noise from the bar didn't interfere with our date night. Love this restaurant! I always come here when I visit family in Upland. Staff is always super friendly. My in laws always get salads, and they give great portions with lots of protein! I always opt for their western burger -- so delicious. Love their loaded fries and sweet potato fries as well. Cocktails aren't anything special but I love their happy hour (20% off cocktails). I've been to this restaurant a few times and have always left satisfied with food and service. This is my first Yell review. I had no idea they offered Sunday brunch so I stopped in to give it a try. I'm glad I did! I had the steak and eggs. My steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Fruit was fresh. Side salad was good and fresh but one recommendation to the manager, a salad bowl would work best and would keep the lettuce From falling off on to the sides and on to the table. The restaurant is clean, good music and I must add that the hand soap in the restaurant is great. Most restaurants offer a foamy soap in the restroom that doesn't give a good lather. The Heights used to be our go to restaurant. The food and service were always decent. But ever since Covid, their hours are ridiculous. Are they open? The sign says that they are but the doors are locked. There's no message about being closed when you call. They used to be closed Mondays. Then it was Mondays and Tuesdays.
