I came with my dad to Sammy's Café for breakfast. My dad mentioned this is one of his go-to spots to go to with his coworker because they are always quick and friendly. This location of Sammy's Café is off Foothill Blvd in the same plaza as Vons, but it is on the outskirts by the Vons gas. As soon as we came in we were welcomed and seated. They had a really large menu, with all of the diner classics and some Mexican breakfast specials too. We focused on the breakfast since we were both in a breakfast mood. My dad has the Pork Chops & Eggs ($17.59) with hashbrowns and wheat toast and Coffee ($?). I had the Bacon & Eggs ($14.99) with country potatoes and biscuits and gravy and an Orange Juice ($?). We both enjoyed our breakfast and my dad had food to take home for a subsequent meal. I think this might be one of the spots for our rotation. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu in the future. read more

Upland location. We Got food to go. Food was horrible. It was a day they were super busy after realized it was a holiday, this should have not mattered. Threw food away, it was that bad. Green chilaquiles were tough!!! Tasted horrible. Tried to call- no valid phone number. I emailed them, no response. Sad because we spent $50 including tip. Seemed to not care as much anymore the last few times we went. Need to care for inside cleanliness as well. :( read more

Came here for some brunch, and I was pleasantly surprised by this place, the service was top notch, the waiter was very attentive to us, the place looked like a diner clean, and nice. The food was decent, I ordered the chilaquiles with meat, I was happy they served it with a cooked jalapeño, the fried tortillas and red sauce were delicious. I wasn't that impressed with the fajitas they served with it, the asada didn't have much flavor. The egg was cooked perfectly which really made the meal. My fiancé ordered the chicken and waffles and she said it was delicious. One piece of her waffle was a little soggy, but she wasn't upset. Always convenient parking, very clean, always a welcoming, cordial greeting, quick service from helpful staff and very good food. We started with onion rings while we waited for our 5th guest and these were quite satisfying.. For Dinner, three of us had the Shrimp Dinner ( 2 for $30) two had salad and I had the chili beans we all had baked potatoes.. We all agree dinner was a solid 4.5.. Had a really good breakfast this morning. My favorite here is the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Combo. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked. The cinnamon roll French was also really good and a beautiful golden brown. It took a while to get my first coffee refill but after that, my cup was kept full. I would definitely return next time I'm in the Upland area. I have eaten several times at the Calimesa location but the food at this location is much better and more consistent. read more

I am glad to finally have tried Sammy's Cafe. I'm always getting groceries or gas in this shopping center and see it and decided to try it for breakfast with my husband a couple weeks ago. The outside is decorated with fun cars and then we walked inside and it's a lot bigger than we thought. Definite diner vibes and lots of regulars, I think we were the youngest ones there. We were greeted and seated right away. My husband and I both did a breakfast and he got a half waffle and I got French toast as my add on. I think their prices changed recently from comparing previous menus so it was a little more pricier than we were expecting. The food was good, but I felt like something was missing. I really liked my French toast, but the strawberry was a little too much for me. I think I would stick with the breakfast and not have an add on next time because it was a lot of food. We liked it here and would come again due to the convenient location and kind service. I would like to try more of their food options the next time we stop in. read more

We came for breakfast and this friendly diner made some very good food. I ordered eggs scrambled soft (they were perfect!) Bacon and house potatoes crispy (again cooked perfect) and French toast delicious . They had American food, Mexican food, and even a little Jewish food (blintzes on Today's special )!! Hadn't been into Sammy's Café in quite some time, so this past Sunday morning my wife and I stopped in for breakfast. We both had the Sammy's Weekend Special; Sausages, eggs, hash browns, pancakes along with biscuits and gravy. After a breakfast like this, we wondered why we hadn't come back sooner! The food was delicious and more than enough to fill us up. The sausages and eggs were cooked perfectly, the pancakes were light and fluffy and the biscuits were not too dense and the gravy hot and delicious. The service was great and the prices were extremely reasonable. What more could you ask for" We now just need to return and try them out for dinner as my friend has suggested.
