I love this place. Very good food and very good service. It's a good ambiance for family and friends to enjoy.

Solid breakfast spot. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the home fries were delicious, and the bacon was some of the best breakfast bacon we've had in a while. We also tried the zucchini bread. It's lightly sweet and served cold, so I'd recommend ordering extra butter with it. The only downsides were slightly dry hash browns, a wobbly table, and menus that could have been cleaner. Overall, though, the food was good and worth the stop. read more

This place is great for the local regulars. I sat at the counter and listened to my Server greet everyone as they came in. Took the time to have a conversation with them as I waited to place my order. Food was standard diner food... no bells and whistles. Coffee was good. The parking lot does get crowded on Sunday mornings. I believe the Owner was also helpful and pleasant to hear as she manned the food coming out of the window and spoke with customers coming in. We're back again for breakfast. The customer service is excellent and the food is delicious, taste like homemade.We ordered a Frittata omelette with fruit and a colossal half pound cheeseburger with fries.We have been coming to this establishment for decades. I always come here during the weekend for their breakfast, but today was the first time I was able to order from their entree menu since I arrived after 11am. I ordered the Patty melt with the side of French fries (you can select fries, coleslaw or fresh fruit). We also ordered the Salisbury steak with the side of chicken soup and garlic bread. The food was delicious, my patty melt and fries were a bit oily, but it's fried food so it's to be expected. The Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes had a good flavor. Even though it was busy we were promptly attended to and had plenty of water and coffee refills. If you order breakfast make sure to ask for a side of salsa! read more

Local restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. We have only had breakfast there. The restaurant is always crowded which is a good sign. The good news is there is plenty of seating so we never have waited mute than a few minutes. A wide variety of menu items to choose from. I had a meal from the smaller appetite options. One egg, two slices of bacon, home style potatoes, and I slice of toast. All for about $10. The egg was cooked as I requested, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. The potatoes were a bit bland and very soft. Could have used higher flame when cooking to crisp them up a bit. Maybe I'll order hash browns next time. Service was quick and efficient. read more

1/26/25 Another local favorite patronized, will DEFINITELY return, good grub & excellent service! Not feeling like cooking today as I am feeling lazy & Hubby is not going to cook either. Hubby actually chose this local restaurant. When I say local, we could've worked up an appetite & walked. Surprisingly at 11 am on a Sunday with a n almost full parking lot, we were immediately seated upon entry. Drinks were offered ASAP, friendly busboy. Within minutes, Lorena, our server graciously welcomed us with a very friendly smile. Loving this place already! Ambiance is warm, clean, diner style, comfortable with booths, tables & counter service. The staff are all busy bees & the servers in particular are running on crack (okay by crack, I mean coffee/caffeine but in a wonderful way). I feel very much welcomed like a regular & like family. My coffee arrived promptly along with Hubby's Diet Coke as Lorena took our orders: Hubby's Machaca w/ beans & rice, for me blueberry pancakes, 2 over medium eggs & 2 strips of crispy bacon. I took more photos & when I returned, our food was ready! Just like that! WowZaH, fast & friendly-what more could you ask for... well the lady (owner/manager) up front could use more of that crack the servers are on!, maybe a little smile on her beautiful face certainly couldn't hurt. My food was delicious! The pancakes in particular are soft, fluffy with a delicate chew, plenty of blueberries folded in (no powdered sugar as I requested), perfectly over medium eggs, bacon is delightfully crispy. Hubby was not as impressed with his Machaca, he said it was not seasoned well enough, but he polished off his entire plate (and usually he does not eat the beans). My coffee was decent and I had about 3-4 cups (one I tried black) Overall, will surely return to try other items in the menu, Lorena said we will definitely be regulars soon enough. Excellent place for chisme with the bestie. Bobbi, our server was just lovely. She was so kind and attentive. Inside is classic old school diner vibes. Long counter, very 70s or early 80s type styling. My pancakes? Perfectly fluffy. The Hashbrowns, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and well seasoned. We have been here two times and it's our favorite local restaurant. The customer service is outstanding. The waitress Bobbie kept checking on us. I had the breakfast burrito. It was big and very tasty. The other time I was there, I had the pancakes, which were the best pancakes I ever had, buttey and fluffy; it came with bacon and eggs. My husband had the steak and eggs and he enjoyed them. We will definitely return often. On the weekdays you get served quickly on the weekend. It's quite busy, so be prepared to wait. The ambience is very family friendly. The best part about it is that everything is so clean. It might have a little bit of 90s decor, and it is outdated, but that's the point of cafés. I was in the area for a job and passed this place and it looked cute. Decided to stop in for breakfast and am seriously so glad I did. As you walk up to the front, there's the sound of running water with a little pond full of the cutest critters, some red eared sliders, and some koi. Off to a pretty good start, this was refreshing. Upon entering, you're greeted by the staff in a very large and open setting, it's clean, and very nostalgic which I love. The staff looked happy to be there, lots of smiles and were talking to their guests like family, immediately started to feel at home. We were seated quickly in a nice comfy booth, and started to check out the menu. There's a little bit of something for everyone, but we went with some basics as you can see in the pictures. I liked that the menu had several items for the "less hungry" crowd, which I could very much appreciate. While we were waiting for our food, our server Leti passed by with some chicken noodle soup that the smell reminded me of a very near and dear soup I'd grown with. When I asked her about it, she even brought me a small little bowl to try it!!! That never happens, and it was literally the best I'd had since, so needless to say I brought home a large to-go amount for later. From beginning to end, Leti made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. Her customer service and attitude are out of this world, and for that we will actually be making the occasional drive out there from city of Orange, it was that nice of an experience. Today was our second visit and I fell in love with Loreina's (and all the servers for that matter) friendly and attentive service. You know you're in the right place when the patrons hug you hello, and goodbye, just like family. Robotic servers, like in other restaurants are becoming a trend, but they will never be able to replace being greeted with a smile and feeling the warmth of a person who loves what they do. Great service! Bobbie was very attentive and friendly. We come here on Saturdays for family breakfast and we always feel so welcomed.

While the food was decent, the service was horrible! I will never go there again. I ordered one senior breakfast that included one scrambled egg and a pancake and received my food 1/2 hour later. The customer next to me ordered a huge breakfast and he got his much sooner than I did. The only difference was that I was Mexican and he was Caucasian. I feel discriminated. I've been here a few times and have never had an issue. But this last time, wow. It was so bad that I'm debating on ever going back. The service was horrible. It took 15 minutes just to get our order taken. Then another 20 for our food. And the food was nowhere close to hot. It was like they made it and let it sit for that entire time. I didn't even eat my plate. And the orders my wife and kids usually enjoy, they couldn't even finish half of their plate. I'm not sure what was going on today but this really has us debating on never coming back. I've been here during the busiest times and the not so busiest times and never had an issue. We visited this restaurant during a weekday, for breakfast. Our waitress, Bobbi (I think that was her name), was very kind and consistently came back to our table, to insure all was well: coffee re-filled, ice water requested, etc. Food was good, not great. Place looked clean, and all the employees were nice and professional. Exception ... manager may want to talk to the cooks/chefs who speak Spanish. I did pick-up a profane word (in Spanish) coming from one of them. It was only banter talk, between the cooks, but still not appropriate. Regardless of the language spoken by employees, they must be careful with their choice of words, when customers are close enough to hear their conversation. Not a big deal, but the only minor flaw I picked-up on. We will definitely return on a future date. read more

This was my first visit to JoAnne's Restaurant. It was the fourth of July, and I was in the mood for a traditional breakfast. I was looking for a place that opened early and I found this place on Yelp. The place is very spacious, with a sitting choice of a traditional counter area, tables or booths. I choose a booth and ordered a breakfast special plate of bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast and some coffee. I was one of the first customers of the day and the service was great. My food was served promptly, and it tasted really good. JR's felt like being at your local family-style cafe serving your favorite comfort food whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. Homestyle cooking at its finest and the definition of consistency My dad and I have been coming here almost every Sunday for the last 4 years and for good reason. The perfect balance of quality and quantity. For the price, the amount of food given is a great value. I find myself always choosing between the jumbo breakfast or biscuits and gravy combo. You can't go wrong with either just make sure you get the home fries! They manage to get it crispy and soft and the same time. The food comes out hot and the taste is always consistent. Coffee is a staple and they do have flavored creamers, just gotta ask for them. In the 4 years, I've rarely had a problem with the food and even then, the servers make sure to get it taken care of. Service is great as well! Frequent coffee fills and friendly staff. All in all, this place is a hidden gem. read more

A great place to have a yummy meal! Even when they are busy, you still get served like you are the only one in the restaurant. Nothing is left out, and drinks are always refilled if needed. We had a small/large party (12), and not one thing was wrong for anyone. The owner acts like she is happy you came in, and she IS! I love her attitude, she makes you feel welcome. Good food, real potatoes if you get mashed, and their zucchini bread is the best. It is so good, my 2 year old granddaughter asks for it, and then enjoys every bite that she can get. A must try! We wanted to try a different place today, so I came on Yelp. After reading several reviews, I had to come in and try some of the recommendations. Sorry I didn't take a picture of my omelette before I cut into it. But as you can see, it looks delicious. I had an Ortega chili and cheese omelette with a side of bacon to crumble on top. That bacon is so crispy! I washed it down with a delicious coffee. Then, ended my experience with some fluffy pancakes. I don't normally eat pancakes, but those were just right. First time here and I really enjoyed the breakfast. The place is an old style cafe. They have live turtles and fish on display which the kids will truly enjoy. The prices are a tiny bit higher, but the quantity and quality of food are worth it. I enjoyed the eggs Benedict dish that comes with your choice of potatoes. I had the home potatoes and requested salsa. The dish was very tasty. I also had the stuffed French Toast which was a favorite of mine. The FT is stuffed with crème cheese and strawberry and topped with butter and syrup. I also enjoyed the fried shrimp, but my favorite was their fries. The fries were excellent! They were crispy and full of flavor. For you coffee lovers the coffee was good. The server and staff were nice and courteous. The place is clean and parking was ample.
