This place is really good for diner food. The wait at 11am on a Saturday was only about 15 minutes. There was a small table just inside the door with coffee and cups while you wait, very nice touch. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and absolutely delicious. The squeezing machines are on display in the eating area. The coffee was decent as well. I got the special of the day, the LocoMoco. Really tasty gravy and the egg was cooked just right. The rice was a little undercooked and the Chuck patty a little over cooked. All in all 4/5 for that meal. The wife got Chilaques which was pretty remarkable. Good sauce, crispy chips, tasty cheese crumbles, and the guac was fantastic. The one loss was the time it took for the food to come out, but they were diligent in keeping drinks full and let us know ahead of time that one of the grill tops was down and it would take a little longer than expected. read more

We've been to this restaurant for breakfast many times. The food is good. However, we visited this past Saturday, got seated quickly in a visible place and sat there for a good ten minutes before we left. Absolutely no one came by our table to offer us coffee, water or if we wanted to order even though servers were bussing tables all around us. Even the host walked by several times and he must have noticed we hadn't been served. I can see now why The Griddle in Eagle gets only 3 stars. By the way, the COVID excuse doesn't work anymore. Well I've been here several times now- I love it every time- food is fresh & extra yummy. Unfortunately the service can be hot or miss as they are always so busy, but they always try, & as most of the staff is quite young, I think they do a good job all things considered. We ate breakfast here two days in a row, it was that good! We tried their breakfast combination of two eggs, bacon and a crepe each day. The scrambled eggs were very fluffy and cooked just right. The bacon strips were huge, not the usual 1/2 inch by 5 inch strips, more like a full inch + by 8 to 10 inches in length. And the crepes, the first morning we had the peach one and the second morning we had the pecan bacon caramel one, they both were fantastic! We also had their excellent hot chocolate and real fresh squeezed orange juice. The staff were very friendly and fun to talk with, remember to donate to the Multiple Sclerosis jar on the counter before you leave! The staff all wear orange t-shirts with the "Ferguson Fancy Feet" logo on them, as they support their coworker Ashley Ferguson who has M.S. and help raise money to find a cure! read more

Just stumbled upon this place and so glad we did! The warm, friendly service, cleanliness and the tasty food truly got our day off to a great start! Homemade OJJ, homemade salsa and jams, and they really know how to cook eggs....perfectly fluffy and not dry. Coffee and water were never empty either. We were met with big smiles and morning greetings upon entering, and Leah our server, was a joy. Probably one of our top 3 breakfasts we've ever had, and we're breakfast people. Clean and inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. The problem was with my portion size of my Auntie Mo's dish. It appeared to be a side dish instead of a main dish compared to the other orders at our table. I also noticed a lack of items in my order... I barely had bacon, mushrooms, and bell peppers which is everything supposed to be the main part of my dish. I basically got eggs (which were good size) and hashbrowns. Would I give this place another chance, yes. But will order something different. Others in my party we in agreement about their dishes as well. Food is good but not worth $15 for an omelette. I'd say they are a notch above Dennys. Service is hit or miss it seems. Today's service wasn't the best i have received here. It seemed like the two servers waiting on me weren't communicating well. One asked if i needed anything when she delivered my food and the one that brought the condiments out took quite a while and seemed annoyed. $1 extra charge to add a bit of chopped onion to my omelette? We have not eaten at The Griddle- Eagle for about 2 years because of 2 previous bad experiences. Today we thought we would give them another try. BIG Mistake! We sat at the last remaining booth as opposed to a table because we would rather sit at a booth! There were only about 10 spots taken up in the whole restaurant and with 5 servers you would think service would not be a problem!! From the time we sat down to the time that Stacey finally came to our table was about 15 minutes and then she proceeded to tell us that because we sat at a booth that was dirty we were overlooked( she was obviously upset by this)! Being that the restaurant was not very busy (7:53-8:35) you would think that you would know who was sitting in your area! Never been scolded by a server before!! She took our drink order and came back with our drinks in a reasonable amount of time. She then took our food order and that was the last we saw of her at OUR table for 24 minutes until we left without eating. Total time in the restaurant was 42 minutes. During that time we saw her walking around the restaurant and talking with other diners without ever coming back to our table to see if our drinks were ok or if we needed refills. During our time in exile we saw 2 tables close by served by other servers get there food and they had ordered 10 to 12 minutes AFTER we did. Never Again!!! We will not give this restaurant another try. Too many other Very Good places to eat. We ended up at Squeeze In. Excellent as always! read more

Went for lunch. Fairly busy. Didn't have to wait to be seated. Server was prompt with our drinks and taking our order. Ordered the tuna melt and sweet potato fries. Sandwich was served on grilled sourdough. The tuna was nicely seasoned with pepper and had chunks of celery and the right amount of cheese. The bread was buttery and perfectly toasted. I always order sweet potato fries where ever I go. Hands down these were the best fries I have had. Perfectly cooked. They were crunchy and not greasy. Not over cooked and just enough salt. I just came here for the first time with my mom and 3 year old daughter. The server was very nice in explaining the specials and we ordered. She ended up delivering my mom and my food before my 3 year old daughters which should really never happen. I do understand she didn't want our food to be cold, but unfortunately it was cold anyway and honestly didn't taste very good. I'm not one to complain, but my mom politely said something about it. The server then very nicely suggested we get something else and we did. But it ended up being eggs Benedict with the runniest eggs, they were pretty much raw. It also tasted bland. I didn't eat mine. They ended up comping mine after my mom asked which was nice of them but, the server didn't at first ask me about the fact that I didn't eat mine which wAs strange. Okay. So, we returned to the Griddle. This time, service was out of control. I called ahead to ask about the wait. I was told they had a 5 minute wait and they were unable to add our name to the wait list. Since we were only a minute away (literally entering the parking lot), we decided to go. When we got there, it was insane busy. Our wait time was 25-30 minutes. I was upset but my husband insisted on staying. While we waited, we were backed into peoples' tables as they were eating. This location recently added a new entrance to prevent cool air from entering the dining area BUT it was a huge mistake as now there is no waiting area. Several people walked in, were annoyed, and left. However, many stayed which resulted in our wait time. 35 minutes later, we were seated. Our server had a party of 14. As such, my small party of 4 was shuffled between 3 different workers. It was a nightmare! The food was not good either -- aa my pancakes had a burnt taste to them. I will say that this was the first time that the food was not good. Usually, the Griddle has amazing food. Finally, when we got our bill, we had been overcharged! Since they were so busy, I couldn't get it fixed without another long wait so I just paid the tab and left. I'm seriously disappointed and am not sure if I will return or not. read more

We will never go back. The server hovered around us as my husband was signing the credit card. We had our family of 5, 3 kids age 8 to 13. No real problems with the service, just a little slow. And, we were a quiet respectful group. No mess and no problem. Not crowded at all. It was $110, which is a lot but we expected that. Prices have sky rocketed in recent time. We used to pay $50 to $60 for breakfast food. We do notice servers want 20% to 35% these days. my husband left $12 for a tip. Maybe he should have left $25 . $110 + $12 is a lot of money for a family. Maybe we should not go out to eat anymore. I notice I don't see many families w kids out in restaurants. The server saw my husband complete the payment, and she immediately jumped in and asked what the problem was. Why such a low tip? Wow! I have never had that happen before. The restaurant made good money from us and I'm sure they appreciated our patronage. The waitress made $12, maybe it should have been $25? She also made money from the other people at the restaurant in that hour. If you only had 3 customers in an hour , it might be $30 an hour in tips. That's pretty good. Well the restaurant will not get our $100+ again and I'm sure they aren't happy about that. If you want to lose customers, have the servers confront the people about the tips. read more

I am new to the Boise area and have been hearing about this restaurant. A friend and I came in to give it a try. On a Wednesday so it was not busy. The service was fine and the food was just eggs, etc. What I found so frustrating was Pricing on the menu. We added/substituted a couple of things and were charged outlandish prices. Even though the menu says upgrades or substitutions are one price, they said we didn't qualify for that and charged us insane amounts for one pancake, and one biscuit. More than money, was the attitude. The server said yes, our food is very expensive. I asked her why she hadn't explained to us that our breakfasts did not qualify for upgrades or substitution, according to the menu prices, and she just shrugged. I did speak to the manager and she was very polite and listened and then, I realize there was nothing that she could do. We paid $12 for one hot cake and one biscuit added onto our meal. Ridiculous. There are so many good breakfast places in the area, there really will be no reason to come back. read more

For a party of 6 and a baby they were able to seat us within 15 minutes. The food came out rather quickly as well. Everything was prepared right then and was hot. I've been 4-5 times to the Griddle on Parkcenter, which definitely receives a higher rating. I love this diner - the food is really good (with a few exceptions) and the service is always really friendly. There is ALWAYS a wait on the weekend unless you're eating really early. At the Eagle location on a Saturday (11:30am) we waited 30 minutes for a table for 3. I highly recommend the California Benedict, on a croissant it is just incredible. I decided to branch out yesterday though - I tried the Chicken and Waffles (an off-menu special they have currently) and I was instantly deeply disappointed. They served FROZEN CHICKEN FINGERS. I couldn't believe it - so I asked my waiter if they were pre-cooked and frozen. She confirmed this - I appreciated her honesty at least! I was in disbelief that they charged $12 for this pre-cooked and then frozen meal, that they probably microwaved to serve! The meal gets 0.5 stars only because of the waffle - which was delicious. I gave the waiter instructions to tell the cook, please don't ever serve this chicken again. I will be back - but only for the California Benedict. I love quiche but rarely get it in restaurants because it usually disappoints. Their Quiche Loraine was FANTASTIC. Love it. Huge slice. I asked for crispy hash browns. They were perfect. We've been looking for a French toast brunch place, and this is the place. They have a large menu of French toast, waffles, crepes and other breakfast foods but we came for the French toast and we were not disappointed. I had the almond crusted French toast and my husband had the plain. Both were delicious and we would definitely recommend them! We both had the combo and our eggs were cooked perfectly. Our friend had a pastrami sandwich and another had the crepes and they also really liked their meals. We could not figure out why this place was rated less than 4 stars. The service was quick, there was no wait, and the food was delicious. And their fresh orange juice is really tasty. Overall we would say, if you are looking for a sweet, American breakfast, this place will not disappoint. This little gem is nestled at the end of a business building in the middle of a parking lot. We happened upon it by accident in a state of near-starvation and went only to save our lives (ok, I actually was just a little bit hungry and my husband didn't even feel like eating but whatever). First, the staff. I like them. I really do. But for whatever reason, I get a weird vibe off them, like they'd rather be doing something else. For instance, this morning as our waitress brought our food she was already looking away by the time she'd dropped the second plate. I had to catch her attention to ask for another glass of juice. The wait to get anyone to our table was a little ridiculous considering how not-busy the place was. BUT... The food. The food is pretty good. Last time I went I got a quiche Lorraine and it was amazing - yummy crust, egg cooked just right, perfect ratio of all the ingredients. This time, I had to take off a star. I got the "stuffed" French toast, which was really just two pieces of almost-burned Texas toast with a thin layer of jelly and an unidentifiable cheese-like mixture in between. I guess whether or not you like it would depend on how you like your French toast. I prefer mine to be soft and almost moist; this was cooked to the point of crunchy. I get that some people like crunchy French toast. Those people have no friends. My daughter got the same thing both times - French toast sticks with yogurt "dipping sauce". The French toast was the same as mine, except cut into 5 strips and served with a bowl of strawberry yogurt. After tasting it myself, I determined the yogurt probably has powdered sugar or something added to it because it was super sweet and of a slightly thicker consistency than regular yogurt. So if your kid suddenly seems like they're running on rocket fuel...that's probably why. A wonderful saving grace is their orange juice. It's manna from heaven. It's REAL JUICE, ya'll. Not concentrate, not even that "not from concentrate" reconstituted Simply Juice stuff. It's legit, squeezed-directly-from-oranges juice. I know because twice I had seeds in it :D At about $3.50 a glass, you should ask for a glass of water as well otherwise you'll end up downing it and ordering 2 or 3 more. Size of the glass is pretty good for the price! Speaking of prices, the Griddle is very reasonable. Between my daughter and I we spent about $20 and that was including my extra glass of juice :) Overall, I like it here and I will keep coming back, even if just for the juice! read more

I just ate there, and im annoyed. I follow a keto diet so ordered savory crepe without the crepe and without the hash brown potatoes. I asked for extra hollandaise sauce because sometimes they are stingy with it, and i deleted the starches. I was charged $2 for the extra dab of sauce. Wow.......... I have been to this place twice. Once with my family, 5 total, and it was so good we brought our parents,total party of 7. The first trip the service was ok, but food was great. The second trip the food was still great and we had an amazing waitress. She was Johnny on the Spot with everything, really turned along wait to get seated into great experience. There are 2 issues with The Griddle, the waiting area is small & full. Also the dining area is too small. But the food is the best, this is the best breakfast house I have ever been too, seriously! The menu is not the same old same old. French Toast with Carmel Bacon sauce, mmmmmmm. Mediterranean omelette, basil in an omelette who would have ever thought that is so delicious!?! Despite it being a weekend we were able to get in right away. And more importantly, the food was great! We shared French toast and an omelet. I also ordered the hash for my husband as a to-go order.
