I went to the griddle this Sunday. trying out new breakfast places with my wife. And my server had the meanest look on her face , I asked if everything was ok. she gave us a death stare it was strange. so my food was wrong first off we never got our drinks refilled and our server never came back to check on us. she came back eventually put the check on our table walked away! Breakfasts here are delicious. My favorite is ham steak and eggs over hard with an everything bagel. Oh so good, oh so greasy! Thay also have great pancakes, with optional berries or chocolate chips. The Griddle hit the spot this morning for breakfast! The Griddle is located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking. As soon as we walked in, we took a seat at a booth and were immediately greeted by our AMAZING waitress, Tonya. We had previously read reviews that The Griddle has poor service, so we were skeptical at first, but we were pleasantly surprised by Tonya, our waitress, who hustled the ENTIRE team and was on her A game. She was the only waitresses serving about 10 tables. Tonya immediately took our drinks orders and, shortly thereafter, took our breakfast orders. David ordered the 3 Meat Omelet (ham, sausage, and bacon) with home fries and wheat toast ($9.50) while I ordered Corned Beef Hash and Eggs (2) with grits and rye toast ($8.50). Despite the venue being rather busy, we were served in about 15 minutes. Our meals were served exactly to our order and tasted fresh! While we were not disappointed with the service or taste of food at The Griddle, we believe the portion sizes and prices were not proportionate. However, we used a Groupon ($8 for $16 worth of food). Four stars because there was little ambiance - it's similar to a cafeteria-style venue and brightly lit - and because of the disproportionate prices and portion sizes. While my husband & I were visiting his son in Boca Raton, my stepson took us to the Griddle. He's new to Boca, so he asked his co-workers where a good place for breakfast was and they him referred to the Griddle. He was told it was great, not true! Maybe they lost their great cook.... All I can say is the food was not good. My husband's and stepson's orders were below average, both had omelets that were flat and overcooked. I ordered their Eggs Benedict. I was immediately concerned by the color, or should I say lack in color, of the Hollandaise sauce. I tasted it and it was bland, no flavor at all. Upon closer inspection of the 2 eggs, one yolk was totally broken and appeared scrambled, the other yolk totally cooked. Needless to say, I had them remove the order from our check. The food was pretty good BUT...from the time we ordered our food until it was served was one hour. The manager or owner said that sundays were bad because they were "busy". (great excuse). Then the v eggie and cheese omeleete came without the cheese; the corned beef hash and eggs came without the hash - bythe time the hash was broought, the eggs were cold, etc. etc. My wife and her friend were served but mine did not come for about 10-15 minutes after theirs. This place has been here for ages - and they still cannot deal with a full house and serve three people breakfast at the same time??? Wonder what happens when they have toserve something more complicated than egggs. The waitress was good but she had no way to bring food that was not cooked . I found a restaurant.com coupon for this restaurant. It's been in business forever, but the location seems unusual in a strip mall about a quarter mile from Federal Highway. Their aim is to be a diner with the corresponding menu. They seem to have a larger breakfast menu. I was there at about 130 in the afternoon and there was actually quite a lot of customer traffic. I was immediately asked what I wanted to drink, & I told her I needed a few minutes to look over the menu as I was a first time visitor. I chose the breakfast burrito with home fries. Not fake home fries, but true northeast diner type home fries. Inside the breakfast burrito was scrambled eggs breakfast sausage onions peppers refried beans and salsa. I was offered sour cream as a side. Across the top appeared to be some sort of cheese sauce and four slices of jalapeno pepper. The ice tea was fresh brewed. Hard to find the waitress for a refill, but I just emptied it as she was walking by. Your seem to be some processing problem with the restaurant.com coupon, but they said if I come back with another that I should let the server know when I order so they can put it in the computer correctly. Overall it's really a 3.5 star experience, but half a star wasn't an option on Yelp, and I couldn't give them the extra half star to make it four The question on every Yelpers mind is, would you go back again? I would go back again and even at full price, but if I could get another online coupon, I go back faster. read more

I can not believe that racism continues in the 20th century. An older woman with short hair was rude to me, she served me coffee in a broken old cup, i observe and i was with a different kind of cup, not from Griddle we were two Hispanics but only I speak a very poor English. I was looking to grab a quick bite to eat for breakfast. Although the breakfast was good the service was mediocre. Although I was not happy with the service . I gave the waitress very little tip. On the way out I was confronted by the cook in front of other customers asking me why I did not leave a tip "if I was not happy with the service" I said yes the food was fine. She proceeded to tell me how I needed to leave a better tip because she works hard. I do understand waitresses work hard I already had my reasons to not tip her well and it is no ones else's concern to question me especially in front of others on why I didn't leave a better tip. We were frequent patrons for breakfast at The Griddle and waitress Kerrie knew we were steady customers. The breakfast choices plentiful and good. Upon presenting our Groupon, the first comment was that we had used Groupons previously, so we were not eligible to use another one. I disagreed, indicating that if I was eligible to buy a Groupon I could use it. Kerrie said the owner made up her own Groupon rules. Again I disagreed and Kerrie accepted the Groupon, but added she was going to include tip in bill which included the Sunday paper ($3). So, Kerrie gave herself a 19% tip on the total prior to Groupon discount which included the cost of the paper. I really did not think about the tip on the paper until we got home, but expect frequent patrons to be treated fairly. I understand the concept of establishing tip amount off the total prior to discount, which I always do, but tip on paper is wrong and waitress establishing % is wrong. Two things: 1. If owner does not want to follow Groupon rules; do not participate. 2. We plan on taking a break from The Griddle; there are plenty of other choices! read more

Don't waste your time or money on this place, I waited for an hour and a half for my food just for the sandwich to be slightly warm and the home fries ice cold. I also ordered extra bacon on my croissant sandwich(which they up charge for the croissant even though that's what the sandwich is supposed to come with) I didn't get ANY bacon at all on my sandwich even though I paid for extra.
