I just had an amazing breakfast on a cold and windy day for South Florida! I was served by a new employee who was smiles and pleasantness, personified and Very Helpful. Everyone including the owner of the Griddle are always very nice and go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy and well fed.. The food is delicious and served with Care . The prices are reasonable I love the restaurants, ambience of old Florida with photographs of old Boca Raton on the wall and a huge cut out cardboard statue of President Trump and vice president Vance . I highly recommend this restaurant. It's open every day weekdays until three and Sunday until 1:45 PM so get there early. We have been searching our local restaurants and diners for the best pancakes and we saw some great pancake reviews at this location. It has been here for decades, yet we only found it now after living in the area forever. The restaurant is located in a strip center under construction. There was plenty of parking. We were told to sit anywhere and coffee arrived quickly. It was good coffee. The interior is homey and very patriotic. The restaurant was quite busy with what appeared to be a lot of locals. The prices seemed a bit high but in line for the Boca area. We ordered the pancake breakfast along with a mushroom Swiss omelette and grits. I thought the meal was done right...omelet was cooked as I asked and the grits were tasty. As far as the pancakes, they were ok but we are still in search for the best ones. I had friends over from North Africa and they really wanted to try an American breakfast and this soon after they arrived.They have had similar breakfast items in their native countries but they wanted the authentic deal and since this is the closest or one of the closest breakfast restaurant's to Highland Beach we gave it a try and it did not disappoint. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked and the home fries are grilled not deep fried. If you want a good breakfast at a fair price, this is a good option. Great service. Loved the option of 2 silver dollar pancakes with my omelette in lieu of toast. The pancakes were so fluffy and light. I'll come back for just an order of the pancakes alone the next time they were that good. And the hash browns were perfect. Coffee was amazing and my cup never went empty. The food is mediocre at best. The eggs seemed like powdered eggs and the bread tasted stale. Service was slow, the server was nice and seemed busy but it was just slow, took over an hour just to get water refilled. I think my biggest concern which I noticed only after an hour waiting for water and aimlessly staring around was how DIRTY it really was. It's clear they don't dust very often and crumbs everywhere. Been wanting to try this place, so I went with my bf. Was nervous from the reviews I read. We were sat immediately. The staff were super sweet and apologetic for the long wait time. We were waiting awhile for just a refill on our drinks. They warned us the food was going to take awhile, and it took more than thirty minutes. We weren't in a rush or anything, but we were hungry haha so we started getting antsy. Finally, the food came. I got the bacon and egg white croissant with hash browns. It was just ok. The sandwich didn't have much flavor. The hash browns were good. My boyfriend was not impressed with the special omelet. Can't remember what exactly he got, but it was the one with all kinds of meats with onions and peppers. The veggies were crunchy.. he likes them fully cooked. He said the flavor was just ok. The Griddle is our top restaurant for breakfast or lunch. They cook from scratch, use beef tallow the food is fantastic. The all American Breakfast and the French Toast are the best anywhere. The wait staff is experienced, and treat customers very well. We order from Uber or Door Dash and it comes nice & hot. We love the booths and photos of famous people and life size cut outs of our President & VP, too! It is our Go to neighborhood place near to FAU. read more

They aren't particularly welcoming as they make their political opinions quite clear with a sign on the door which really just sets a hostile tone that if you won't agree, please go. I went in anyway as I wasn't deterred but the tuna fish sandwich was gross and it was a tuna melt that was burnt. We made a note of it and mentioned it to the waitstaff, they asked if we wanted another, we declined as we hadn't eaten even 1/4 of it but instead shared our BLT. They kept it on the bill. Decided to try a new place for lunch today in Boca, The Griddle ("Boca's oldest diner, since 1945"). First, we thought the sign on the entrance door saying they cook with beef tallow and listing all its "health" benefits a little strange, but when we walked in: WOW! We were greeted by life-size cardboard cut-outs of Trump & Vance, the TVs all were tuned to FOX News, and the walls were festooned with all Trump signs and stuff. Let me say I am not a picky breakfast eater. I can throw ketchup and Tabasco on anything and enjoy it. It was Parent's weekend at FAU so all the usual "good" spots were crazy busy so we tried this place. We walked in and were a bit surprised by how "used" the place looked. I'm not just talking old but kinda dusty looking and nothing looked particularly clean, but not quite dirty enough to walk out and frankly we were hungry. It was pretty crowded so we figured maybe it's just a great hole in the wall. It took a bit for the waitress to come to the table and she let us know she was busy and there would be a bit of a wait. No problem. She set expectations and it was a Sunday morning. My son and I decided on the something like Southern Stacker which was eggs with sausage links and biscuits with sausage gravy on it. My son and I will eat just about anything but we easily left 75% of it on our plates. Not great flavors, dry, yet soggy and blah. I asked for Tabasco and she placed Chulula on the table and walked away. Not the same, but fine. My husband got an omelet and thought it was ok. But thought the sausage and bacon weren't great quality. Our server wasn't around much but it was busy. Everything just felt filmy. I went to the restroom and got the shock of my life when I exited. Across from the rest rooms is what I can only describe as a shrine to Trump on the wall. I'm not a racist moron so I can't say I was pleased. I sat back down and all of a sudden it made sense. The clientele with a very high percentage of american flag and camouflage apparel. While I had NO PLANS TO EVERY RETURN based upon the food, the radical politics displayed in this restaurant should dissuade anyone. read more

I had a fabulous lunch meeting & birthday party celebration here last week. The owner was gracious and hospitable and thanked our group for our business. We ordered salads & sandwiches with a dessert plate filled with homemade cookies + birthday cake. Had a great experience at The Griddle. I hadn't been there since COVID and was glad to come back. Great staff, great owner. The food is good diner-style food, and the coffee is very good. The lights are bright, which is fine with me, but a couple at my party were not happy with how bright it was. It would also be good if there was some sound baffling to keep the noise down, but again, it didn't bother me. Everyone in my group loved the food, loved the staff, and loved the owner. If I could give No stars for this place I would. So I come in the sign says please seat yourself. So a friend and I did. Not only did we sit there almost 50 min before the waitress came to see us but she went around and seen everyone who was coming in after us. I just had surgery and all I wanted was to get something in my belly and leave.
