Wish I could talk it up, It's pretty close to me so it would be nice to add a solid local bar to places to stop in. I did stop in the other day. It had been the Whistle Stop for I don't know how long. There was some change and I was driving by the other day and figured lets see what the new set up is. It's pretty similar from what I recalled from the previous name and place. Very High ceilings, a Sports bar vibes. There's a few TV's for games on but not a ton of them. I grabbed a spot at the bar and tried to get a drink. There was one gal bartending, and maybe 15 people hanging out. She had some patrons or friends that she was talking to. In between she was organizing a few things. It was almost 10 minutes of waiting to see if she would walk over mt way or make eye contact but no such luck. Their was some political talk goign on and a small aroma, maybe the bar mats, but I was about done waiting. Cool bar, friendly bartenders. They have an interesting back story, apparently they were called Tall Boy back in 1981, but got a cease and desist from Pabst Blue Ribbon who held a trademark on the term 'Tall Boy' and forced them to drop the name. Anyway, now that the trademark is expired they're going with the name Tall Boy again. Pretty neat. As for the bar itself, it kind of has a calculated divey quality to it. Pretty comfortable, I had a few drinks and enjoyed my time there. I actually stopped by to see a band, Cinema Stereo. It was a good time. Nice place to see a band live, very intimate. I'd be shocked if they could fit more than 100 people there. Overall 5 stars. I liked the vibe alot and would definitely come back if other rock bands came through. read more

When I looked up Caribbean Grill Restaurant it had great reviews but then I realized it had moved from its stand alone location to now inside of Whistle Stop Public House. When we first arrived it was super loud and a lot going on inside so we opted to eat outside. The waitress greeted us, gave us menus, and advised she is the only one working. Even though she was the only one working she provided us with phenomenal service. We ordered several different dishes as you can see with the photos attached to this review and each dish was hot, delicious, and flavorful. This was some of the best Cuban food I've had in a very long time. Looking at the outside of this establishment you would never think that they would cook such amazing food. There was some shady looking patrons inside I'm not going to lie, a lot of them were drunk/rowdy but they didn't bother us while we ate, so I can't be mad. We went to see my friend's band play and get some food, with 12 people. We lasted one hour before we left, the food was apparently fried in old oil (should be fresh on a Friday Night of service). Everything we got between the 8 of the 12 people was horrible. The servers were very nice people, but, after they were serving us at the table with our food and drinks, we were told by another server we had to order at the bar. I like that the kitchen can be seen in plain view. The series "Bar Rescue" has me scarred if a kitchen at a bar is behind closed doors. The only good thing here is the waitresses provide good service, and that's where it ends. We wondered why they have no menu online, and it's clear because they have no variety in their food. Seriously, there are about four items on the menu: burgers, nachos, tacos and wings. Aside from that, food is expensive and they had no drink specials. A basic burger with fries is $16. You could go literally a half mile away to the Irishmen and have $2 beers, better prices on everything and much greater selection. The worst part of it is they whack you with a 3% junk fee for using a debit card. Yes, not even a credit card, a debit card where they get charged nearly nothing to process it. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this overpriced dive bar that nickels and dimes you. read more

Whistle Stop was one of the stops on a beer crawl. Its located in a plaza which is hard to miss. Once you get there, its a fun place to hang and watch the games. Great beer, amazing food (omg) and service. We sat there watching the food come out of the kitchen and wow, each dish looked amazing!! There were a few tables outside. Plenty of TVs and seating inside. Its one of those cool friendly neighbourhood bars and plenty of parking. read more

We found this place for lunch via Yelp after looking at dive bars that serve food. It's not really divey, but it's certainly a sports bar with lots of big screen TVs, pool tables, and dart boards, and a huge bar. Since everyone was sitting at the bar, we did too. As others have stated, we were immediately made to feel comfortable. The people sitting on either side introduced themselves to us. Everyone was chatty and friendly. And the bartender/server, Casey (pronounced like KC and the Sunshine Band) was so personable. Taking into consideration all of the above, it was so nice that two ladies walking into a bar could feel safe, welcomed, and get a good meal. So we ordered a couple appetizers to share. We got their loaded potatoes skins and chicken wings with honey bbq sauce. Both were very good. Messy but tasty. We got full fast so wound up taking half home. Prices are pretty reasonable. Drink prices are very inexpensive. They even have specials if you sign up for their frequent visitor card... In any case, I'd definitely come back when next in the area. Back again, and once again beyond impressed.. Mark the Chef here is amazing both with his amazing skills in the kitchen and also his genuine appreciation and kindness. And when you do come here make sure you ask for what extra specials he has because a great example is the Carbonara today. I had to eat some before I posted but it's amazing. Also, the calamari is incredible as well.. this is such a hidden gem. There is not enough ways to say how great all his food is. It doesn't have the biggest sign so it took a few passes through the plaza to find it. if you are looking for it you can find it five door down to the right of Jupiter Donut. The interior of the Whistle Stop is defined by a large bar along the wall but they also have some tables and a pool table. Above the bar are TV's so you can catch the local sports game. We were greeted warmly by our bartender Casey. The menu is made of of bar friendly food and we settled on an order of honey barbecue wings and potato skins. If I hadn't shared a bottle of red wine the night before I would have been inclined to try some of their drinks. The lady sitting next to me showed her bill and three house rum and cokes were $7.50! Drink and food prices are reasonable to say the least. I enjoyed the food we tried and we couldn't even finish it all. They really need 2 bartenders at night. Every time I've been there there's only 1 and the wait is too long for food definitely or drinks for how big the bar is. Also the wings were overcooked and they didn't tell me the happy hour specials, I had to keep asking which most places just say what it is when you first talk to them. When you come here, everybody knows your name; not only the theme song to Cheers, but a mantra for the Whistle Stop. The service here is second to none, everyone is extremely friendly and attentive to your every need. I believe the owner is named Sharon, she is so nice and really tries to cater to your every need while your here. It's very lively here, so you wouldn't expect to get excellent service, but it's really the best here. My water was always refilled, and our waitress was always within distance of our attention. In terms of the atmosphere, this place is perfect to watch a game. I'd say this is a perfect sports bar; think of Cheers in the 21st century. The burgers are by far my favorite. The meat is perfectly cooked to a nice medium, and very juicy. Portion sizes are large, you'll have plenty of food to take home. The wings are also very good here, not greasy; nice and crispy (get the hot sauce). I've never had the beer, but everyone says it's nice and cold, and inexpensive. For Boca Raton, Whistle Stop is probably one of the best deals in town. Everything here is very reasonably priced, and they aren't trying to nickel and dime you for every extra. You aren't getting as good a meal, for such a reasonable price anywhere else. This is the place. I was really impressed with the Whistle Stop Public House, it's really the full package. Here we go again. I sat down to have a drink and play some cards. The owner came up to me and asked me to leave because I gave him a bad review on Yelp some time ago. Huh? Most reatauranteurs, when given a bad review want to address the concern and improve their service. Nope, that would be too much for this owner. Instead, let's remove a paying customer, who despite the utter failure to care about the customer, or the service at the restaurant, came back despite all of that. No, using their genius thinking, let's refuse service, and never make a dollar again from this customer. Is it not clear now that I would not suggest that any clear thinking, intelligent person, should spend one dollar in this establishment.
