My friend and I stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday night. The service seemed a bit slow, but everything was good. I had a Paloma, he had a margarita. I had the chicken and cheese taquitos, he had the pork belly taco platter. I would definitely like to come back and try the fish tacos and the chocolate taco (smores) dessert. I would love to see them succeed here as this is a local restaurant. I stopped in while waiting for a friend to finish up at a salon. I sat at the bar and it was myself and one other person around 4 pm. I was greeted by Riley she was the bartender. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable. I was happy to hear that they were expecting a party of 30 for dinner. I had a house margarita perfectly done, I also picked on Salsa and Chips. Influenced by Napoleon Dynamite, the food names are fun and will bring a smile and conversation to those who love the movie. I think they could have worked a bit harder on the décor to fit the theme, but the place is casual/ comfortable, with a nice size bar area. We came around 11:30am and there was only one person working the floor. Luckily, there was only one other table (of like 8) when we arrived, so the wait time wasn't too long. After 1pm, and when more people started coming in, a second staff member arrived. Sat at the bar, got some drinks and went back and forth between the Queso Fundido and the Tater Tots appetizer. Ended up with the later and were so happy we did. These were great to share and delicious. You can even add some protein and turn it into a full meal. As my entrée I had the fried shrimp tacos. The shrimps were big, and perfectly crispy. It came with rice and beans too. Big portion! My BF ordered the burrito, and this was huge too. Enough to share or for leftovers. One can almost miss this spot as it's hidden away in a plaza on SW 18th street. Heard about it from gym goers next door! Unassuming sports bar - Mexican restaurant vibes with cool music and friendly servers. Not much homage to Napoleon Dynamite though! Started with Vote for Pedro- which was a spicy margarita with some fruity undertones. A little spicy but enjoyable. The garnish was left off in my drink and my friend's. Also, they were served in a highball glass which was weird for a margarita. The brisket enchilada was delicious with a clove-cinnamon- cumin perhaps flavor. The server said it was birria - which makes sense. It was more like brisket lasagna in appearance but was tasty nonetheless. My friend said his fajitas were good. The restaurant was quite empty but the food took quite a while to come out. All in all, enjoyable and when in a pinch for a different take on Mexican cuisine, give it a shot. read more

Checked this place out for lunch today. When we walked in we were in the ones there, but then a few more people came in after. The Classic Margarita was good ($11) not great but good. The Carnitas Burrito ($15.50) was however delicious! Was big enough to take half of it home for later. Cute place, inside and outside seating. First time here. I'd like to say I'm very knowledgeable on Mexican cuisines. This restaurant is American style "mexican". Food was very very average. Service was ok, plates were not picked up after finishing even after bill was paid. Ambiance is nice. Margarita, not bad. Not great. Guac was ok, lacked flavor. Chips were fine. Rice and beans were not good. They serve black beans, I'm not sure if refried beans is an option but if it was, maybe those are better. Rice was so bland. Chicken fajita were OK. Birria tacos were decent. Overall very average place. I wouldn't come back for "Mexican food". read more

The food and margaritas were great but the service was so slow. The waitress was super nice but she didn't have many tables and it took around 15 minutes to get our drinks. Food took about 20 minutes to come out so not too bad. We had the taquitos, pot belly tacos, and steak burrito, all were excellent. The classic margarita is great and isn't made from mix. Maybe it's not a true 5 star, but I'm biased. I respect someone coming up with a theme restaurant and making it happen. We planned our Sunday lunch around checking out this spot. We walked in about noon and grabbed some seats. There were a couple of their tsnles as well and the one person working at the time was a nice gal who let us know she would get right to us. We grabbed some margaritas of different types and checked out the menus. They held to the theme on many of the dishes, from "Uncle Rico's steak tacos" to "Gotta have my tots", tots. And them tots came out quick, and good. They had a slathering of queso and some jalapenos along with it as an option. I ordered a Dynamite chicken burrito as well. That was plenty tasty. it was somewhere between a handheld version and one that requires a fork and knife. I did a bit of both. Overall things were just fine. I would add a Tina llama by the door, maybe some other movie touches. But I'm happy to have this Mexican food joint added to the options in town. read more

I was blown away by how amazing Vote for Pedro is. The service was friendly and the food was affordable and delicious. Very large space with indoor and outdoor options. It's tucked away behind the front parking area, so you might miss it but it's worth the search. The food was fresh and flavorful. I tried the Taquitos, which were thick with filling and had a nice crunch on the outside. The Enchiladas and Quesadilla each had their own taste and were seasoned perfectly. Newly opened in Boca Raton I had to stop by with my family to see what it was all about. I really like the vibes of this restaurant. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. The staff was super friendly and moved quickly. Great restaurant to bring the family. The food here was very well seasoned nothing was bland. I really enjoyed the Birria tacos. Today is my 3rd visit here and so far it has been consistently very good. Food is delicious and proportions are large so you don't leave hungry. The atmosphere is great with live music and karaoke nights which get so packed that people have to stand outside during performances. IMO the best Mexican in Boca. read more

Sorry Pedro. You need to want your restaurant to succeed and not take your patrons for granted. First off, it's a cute place buried in a small shopping center with near non-existent signage. We needed to Waze AFTER we parked. We all commented that if the place was good, it wouldn't be an issue. The people would come. We had high hopes for the food. We entered into a fun space on a Friday at 645. The place was fairly full, but we had no trouble getting a table. We were excited that they had extended their happy hour til 7 that night and we quickly placed some margarita and appetizer orders. Natalia was our server. She was swamped but sweet and we saw she was trying really hard to provide excellent service. After waiting for an unusually long time for our drinks, we decided to pre- order a second round to make the happy hour price point. This round came out, I'd say 25-30 minutes later. No problem except that they were awful. Were they made with rum this time? Why wasn't the tagine rim on it like before? What's going on? We soon found out that the bartender was overwhelmed ( there was only 1 for the entire restaurant) and he had a pissy attitude. NO TAGINE FOR YOU! We asked if the owner was around and were told that he was not, that he hadn't been all day. Wait. Isn't this a brand-spanking- new restaurant? You're not here? It soon became evident that VFP was in chaos. The kitchen was backed up, the bar was backed up, there wasn't enough help. The servers were trying, you could tell, but come on. It was a fiasco. Good news. The wings were exceptional. Crispy, fried with lip smacking heat from what tasted like freshly ground chili peppers. Chips were served warm, fresh from the fryer. Their salsa could have been better. Quesadillas were tasty but nothing that would send me back. A s'mores taco dessert was a standout but very hard to eat with a utensil. We ordered house margaritas, gotta have my tots with birria, wings, chicken tacos, chips and salsa, cheese quesadilla, and brisket enchilada and everything was amazing. First we weren't greeted at the door after looking around, it was slow, we opted for the bar. Order several round of spicy margaritas, all of them were slightly different in taste, color and appearance. Tried ordering the nachos, after everything came out, minutes later the server told us they can't make the nachos because they ran out of chips. The fajitas we ordered were ok, we opted for the birria tater tot's instead of the nachos and the over all flavor was eh. For a Saturday night, it was very slow with customers so I couldn't see the excuse of several tables being left unclean for most of our dinning experience. The only star this place deserves is ambiance. Well decorated and great location. Staff does not seem trained nor knowledgeable of menu, we had many problems when ordering simple dishes. Not friendly, no one greets you. Manager or owner was drinking at bar and socializing with waitresses but doesn't seem to acknowledge customers or quality control. We came here today for lunch and when we first arrived, I honestly thought the place was closed. They must've been doing some work inside because when we got there, we were the only ones there. You could smell the paint and when we got inside the person working there told us to sit on the right hand side away from the work that they were doing. I was expecting pretty fast service cause we were the only people there but I think the person working was busy doing something else so it really wasn't as fast as I anticipated. We sat at the bar, ordered drinks and ordered off the lunch menu. I got three à la carte tacos. We got our drinks and chips and salsa, which comes complementary and the salsa was really good. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the tacos. They seemed a little bit dry. I got the chicken, the tina you fat lard and the birra. we also experienced a lot of flies because the door was open to accommodate I think keeping the air fresh while they were doing the work, but it resulted in a swarm of flies around us. I really do think that we just caught this place on a bad day so I'm willing to try it again but other than that, I wasn't totally blown away. read more

Everything needs improvement in a big way and in a HURRY!! We should have taken heed when we got a table right away, on a Friday night, where the restaurant only 1/4 full. Service SSSSS-LLLOOOOWWWWWW and that includes when ordering adult beverages, good luck getting another!! Food is mediocre which is being extremely kind. Salsa that was puréed something and guacamole that was just mashed avocado - shockingly below average for main staples of Mexican food. Unfortunately this restaurant days are numbered, especially when up against other restaurants in the immediate area that have quite the following! Pedro has an opportunity to catch some of their overflow but based on the lack of "enthusiasm" (= basically empty restaurant) it seems like folks have figured it out and will pass on Pedro's. We and the other family with us are one and most definitely done. Oh and if they make a mistake, no manager comes out to apologize. Excellent Burrito. Ordered takeout to give this new place a try. At 8pm, the restaurant was about half full inside during the week which was a good sign. I think they are still trying to figure out a few things since they are new and apparently they had a few bumps in the road initially which is normal. Very satisfied!! My burrito was fresh, nice size(not skimpy at all), very tasty, and much better than expected. Oh and the service was great!
