    TATER TOTS

Influenced by Napoleon Dynamite, the food names are fun and will bring a smile and conversation to those who love the movie. I think they could have worked a bit harder on the décor to fit the theme, but the place is casual/ comfortable, with a nice size bar area. We came around 11:30am and there was only one person working the floor. Luckily, there was only one other table (of like 8) when we arrived, so the wait time wasn't too long. After 1pm, and when more people started coming in, a second staff member arrived. Sat at the bar, got some drinks and went back and forth between the Queso Fundido and the Tater Tots appetizer. Ended up with the later and were so happy we did. These were great to share and delicious. You can even add some protein and turn it into a full meal. As my entrée I had the fried shrimp tacos. The shrimps were big, and perfectly crispy. It came with rice and beans too. Big portion! My BF ordered the burrito, and this was huge too. Enough to share or for leftovers. Good option to go have a quick lunch/ dinner.

I would love to see them succeed here as this is a local restaurant. I stopped in while waiting for a friend to finish up at a salon. I sat at the bar and it was myself and one other person around 4 pm. I was greeted by Riley she was the bartender. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable. I was happy to hear that they were expecting a party of 30 for dinner. I had a house margarita perfectly done, I also picked on Salsa and Chips. I did ask the other person how his tacos were and he said messy but delicious. The ambiance was very welcoming. I will definitely come back with friends!!

One can almost miss this spot as it's hidden away in a plaza on SW 18th street. Heard about it from gym goers next door! Unassuming sports bar - Mexican restaurant vibes with cool music and friendly servers. Not much homage to Napoleon Dynamite though! Started with Vote for Pedro- which was a spicy margarita with some fruity undertones. A little spicy but enjoyable. The garnish was left off in my drink and my friend's. Also, they were served in a highball glass which was weird for a margarita. The brisket enchilada was delicious with a clove-cinnamon- cumin perhaps flavor. The server said it was birria - which makes sense. It was more like brisket lasagna in appearance but was tasty nonetheless. My friend said his fajitas were good. The restaurant was quite empty but the food took quite a while to come out. All in all, enjoyable and when in a pinch for a different take on Mexican cuisine, give it a shot.

Checked this place out for lunch today. When we walked in we were in the ones there, but then a few more people came in after. The Classic Margarita was good ($11) not great but good. The Carnitas Burrito ($15.50) was however delicious! Was big enough to take half of it home for later. Cute place, inside and outside seating. Happy Hour seems decent so we will be back to check that out.

First time here. I'd like to say I'm very knowledgeable on Mexican cuisines. This restaurant is American style "mexican". Food was very very average. Service was ok, plates were not picked up after finishing even after bill was paid. Ambiance is nice. Margarita, not bad. Not great. Guac was ok, lacked flavor. Chips were fine. Rice and beans were not good. They serve black beans, I'm not sure if refried beans is an option but if it was, maybe those are better. Rice was so bland. Chicken fajita were OK. Birria tacos were decent. Overall very average place. I wouldn't come back for "Mexican food".

The food and margaritas were great but the service was so slow. The waitress was super nice but she didn't have many tables and it took around 15 minutes to get our drinks. Food took about 20 minutes to come out so not too bad. We had the taquitos, pot belly tacos, and steak burrito, all were excellent. The classic margarita is great and isn't made from mix. Will try again because they're still new. Really cool atmosphere.

Maybe it's not a true 5 star, but I'm biased. I respect someone coming up with a theme restaurant and making it happen. We planned our Sunday lunch around checking out this spot. We walked in about noon and grabbed some seats. There were a couple of their tsnles as well and the one person working at the time was a nice gal who let us know she would get right to us. We grabbed some margaritas of different types and checked out the menus. They held to the theme on many of the dishes, from "Uncle Rico's steak tacos" to "Gotta have my tots", tots. And them tots came out quick, and good. They had a slathering of queso and some jalapenos along with it as an option. I ordered a Dynamite chicken burrito as well. That was plenty tasty. it was somewhere between a handheld version and one that requires a fork and knife. I did a bit of both. Overall things were just fine. I would add a Tina llama by the door, maybe some other movie touches. But I'm happy to have this Mexican food joint added to the options in town.

I was blown away by how amazing Vote for Pedro is. The service was friendly and the food was affordable and delicious. Very large space with indoor and outdoor options. It's tucked away behind the front parking area, so you might miss it but it's worth the search. The food was fresh and flavorful. I tried the Taquitos, which were thick with filling and had a nice crunch on the outside. The Enchiladas and Quesadilla each had their own taste and were seasoned perfectly. The salsa with the chips had the perfect texture. I highly recommend this place.

The food is delicious here, nice portions and the space is fun and comfortable. The movie theme is so cute and integrated into the menu. Had the enchiladas and they were so good!

Newly opened in Boca Raton I had to stop by with my family to see what it was all about. I really like the vibes of this restaurant. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. The staff was super friendly and moved quickly. Great restaurant to bring the family. The food here was very well seasoned nothing was bland. I really enjoyed the Birria tacos. They were very beefy and well stuffed they weren't spicy... actually have a sweeter taste. The Carnitas were fantastic. Save room for dessert the choco taco was a game changer

If you are like me and enjoyed Vote For Pedro at the Delray Beach Market and wondered where they went when the Market closed...wonder no further. They found a new home in Boca and are on SW 18th St in the Village Shoppes. Tucked in a nice little spot behind the first row of shops. It was nice running into the owner Anthony. The food was outstanding and plentiful and I will certainly be back and highly recommend you head over there too!

The birria tacos and chicken nachos were fantastic, and the cocktails were just as impressive. The vibe was cool, and the bartenders were super friendly.

If you are going for the drinks, I'm sure you can overlook it. IF YOU ARE VEGAN AND HUNGRY, this place was not worth the price I paid. First, I got the Burrito (honestly, I wish I went to Chipotle. They know how to make a good Burrito.) THE BURRITO WAS CRUNCHY. I asked them if they could make it vegan- best offer was stir fry vegetables with WAYY TOO MUCH OIL, the rice- for some reason, was made with butter. The spices used on the vegetables were SO STRONG (after I asked for mild spice) that I couldn't feel my tongue for 30 min after Eva finally took it away (she offered 2 times, I felt bad about wanting to send it back after 2 bites. I tried to stomach more and I got really bad acid reflux from the spice) she came back to the table and offered to take it away a second time (Probably because she saw I was almost in tears from how I can't taste, my nose is running like a faucet and very quickly questioning my life decisions leading up to this "FOOD") I ordered the veggie Fajitas next. Again, too oily, spicy- but bearable. I was once told "if the food is too spicy, it means they're covering up that they can't cook" for a whopping $37 I learned the hard way. The ambience was basically the bare minimum of what's legally passable as a restaurant. It had tables, an overworked staff that took 20 min to seat us, 20 min after ordering for food and 15 min in between to check on us. This place was overcrowded and way over hyped. Not going again. 0/10 wouldn't recommend. Even if I was starving, I'd walk 40 min to go to Chipotle. At least the burrito will be worth it.

For years I have frequented a couple of local mexican restaurants; they were/are good but my eyes have been opened to Casa Tequila. Let me tell you what makes my appreciation of Casa Tequila... I have really enjoyed the other mexican restaurants we were going to for the past couple decades but the issue always come up when my wife and I travel to Mexico and enjoy authentic mexican food; arriving back at our local spots became a let-down because they were serving very americanized dishes (flooded with too much cheese and loads of unnecessary sauce. Casa Tequila is serving much more along the lines of what we have enjoyed in our many visits to various regions of Mexico; great balanced flavors and a menu with plenty of options. I don't normally go for the burritos but these burritos are the real deal (AND THEY ARE HUGE so come hungry)... try the "SUPER BURRITO" or the "ASADA BURRITO"; I've tried a bunch but these are the two I keep re-ordering. Recently I tried their "FAJITA TRIO" (fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimps)... it's a lot of food but leftovers always taste great the next day. Personally, we love sitting at the bar; the bartenders are amazing at making fresh margaritas (we always ask every mexican place to not use a pre-made mix... Casa Tequila hits the spot with amazing margaritas); although I normally have their flavored iced tea.

I ONLY REVIEW NACHOS…read more I came in expecting a Mexican restaurant to nail nachos. That's a reasonable expectation. Boy was I wrong. The Grande Nachos arrived in a ceramic dish so nuclear hot I couldn't touch it. By the time it cooled enough to eat, the cheese had souped itself across the entire plate and sealed every chip underneath in a molten tomb. The shredded beef was actually good. That's the tragedy. Good ingredients, catastrophic execution. The refried beans -- listed on the menu, credit for that -- were the murder weapon. Beans plus nuclear heat plus oily cheese plus ceramic dish equals guaranteed chip annihilation. What was left underneath wasn't chips. It was soggy, near liquid mush. The Fork Rule was violated immediately. I left feeling like my gut had survived a blitzkrieg. I went straight to Packy's just to forget what I'd eaten. This isn't a nacho. It's a deconstructed burrito in a ceramic dish. Someone didn't get the memo. 2/10 on the Florida Nacho Man scale. 1/5 stars on Yelp. Full review with photos at floridanachoman.substack.com
